After a wonderful trip, Amy is back to share how her first time park hopping went! On this trip, they took advantage of Lightning Lane Multi Pass on all of their park days. While they got a lot done in the time they had, they also managed to carve out some relaxing time at the Riviera Resort where they stayed in a two bedroom villa.

00:00:12.137 --> 00:00:16.457
VIRGINIA: Welcome back to Where I Long To Be, a Magical Trip Report Podcast.
00:00:16.457 --> 00:00:18.697
VIRGINIA: I am your host, Virginia.
00:00:18.697 --> 00:00:21.917
VIRGINIA: Thank you all for coming back to hear this week's episode.
00:00:21.917 --> 00:00:31.257
VIRGINIA: If you're looking for ways that you can give to the podcast this holiday season, I always enjoy it when I see a new review has come in, either on Apple Podcast or through the website.
00:00:31.257 --> 00:00:37.997
VIRGINIA: Or if you're looking for something different, might I recommend you check out the merch I now have on my Tee Public shop.
00:00:37.997 --> 00:00:41.557
VIRGINIA: You can get the link through my website, which is whereilongtobepodcast.com.
00:00:42.977 --> 00:00:45.417
VIRGINIA: I have shirts, hats, mugs, and more.
00:00:45.637 --> 00:01:00.177
VIRGINIA: In addition to the things with the podcast logo, I have been having some fun playing around with other designs, like one dedicated to my beloved Terminal C at MCO, and others for places like Nomad Lounge, Le Petit Café, and Le Cava.
00:01:00.177 --> 00:01:01.677
VIRGINIA: So please give it a look.
00:01:01.677 --> 00:01:08.757
VIRGINIA: There is a sale on Tee Public right now, so everything is discounted, which is why I made some purchases myself.
00:01:08.757 --> 00:01:12.637
VIRGINIA: Okay, now let's get into this week's post-trip episode.
00:01:12.637 --> 00:01:17.497
VIRGINIA: My guest, Amy, is a long-time Disney park-goer from Massachusetts.
00:01:17.497 --> 00:01:22.217
VIRGINIA: She's a Disney Vacation Club member and more recently has become an annual pass holder.
00:01:22.217 --> 00:01:28.737
VIRGINIA: So I was a little surprised when we spoke at her pre-trip interview and found out that she had never park hopped before.
00:01:28.737 --> 00:01:36.497
VIRGINIA: Prior to this trip, they've always visited one park per day, but having an annual pass now has opened up some new possibilities.
00:01:36.497 --> 00:01:43.357
VIRGINIA: So when her son Charlie said he wanted to give park hopping a try, she was game and made sure to get him a park hopper ticket.
00:01:43.357 --> 00:01:51.057
VIRGINIA: Amy, her husband Joe and Charlie, who was one of Amy's two sons, were staying at the Riviera November 16th through 20th.
00:01:51.057 --> 00:01:53.777
VIRGINIA: That should catch you up, so let's get to it.
00:01:53.777 --> 00:01:56.337
VIRGINIA: Here's Amy.
00:01:56.337 --> 00:01:57.797
VIRGINIA: Welcome back, Amy.
00:01:57.797 --> 00:01:58.757
AMY: Thank you so much.
00:01:58.757 --> 00:02:00.117
AMY: I'm excited to talk with you.
00:02:00.977 --> 00:02:12.277
VIRGINIA: I am so excited to go through these plans, because you had some things in your plans that I have not done before, some dining that I am excited to hear about and see how that went.
00:02:12.277 --> 00:02:17.857
VIRGINIA: First thing I want to ask you is, this was your very first time ever park hopping.
00:02:19.317 --> 00:02:25.997
VIRGINIA: At the end of the day, do you feel that park hopping was a success, and do you think you'll do it again in the future?
00:02:25.997 --> 00:02:30.837
AMY: Yes, I do feel it was a success, and we will do it again in the future.
00:02:30.837 --> 00:02:34.857
AMY: I feel like I have a little more stamina than the rest of my family.
00:02:34.857 --> 00:02:37.937
AMY: So I think we will be limited in our park hopping.
00:02:37.937 --> 00:02:44.697
AMY: But I think what we really enjoyed was going back into a park at night and seeing fireworks.
00:02:44.697 --> 00:02:46.397
AMY: So we'll definitely do that again.
00:02:46.397 --> 00:02:47.797
VIRGINIA: It's nice to have the flexibility.
00:02:47.877 --> 00:02:51.217
VIRGINIA: I know you and your husband have annual passes, right?
00:02:51.217 --> 00:02:51.557
AMY: Yes.
00:02:51.557 --> 00:02:56.457
VIRGINIA: So really, you can do it or not do it, and it's not going to change the price of your ticket.
00:02:56.537 --> 00:03:01.617
VIRGINIA: It was just Charlie, your son, who had a park hopping ticket for this go-round.
00:03:01.617 --> 00:03:02.857
AMY: Exactly.
00:03:02.857 --> 00:03:04.437
AMY: So it was fun for fireworks.
00:03:04.437 --> 00:03:14.037
AMY: And then there was one day that we went to Hollywood Studios, and we really just hopped over to Epcot just to ride Guardians one more time.
00:03:14.037 --> 00:03:15.957
AMY: So for me, I thought that was great.
00:03:15.957 --> 00:03:16.637
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:03:16.637 --> 00:03:20.697
VIRGINIA: Well, let's get into it and hear all of these plans.
00:03:20.697 --> 00:03:27.977
VIRGINIA: So your trip started on Saturday, November 16th, and you were supposed to be landing at MCO around 2 p.m.
00:03:27.977 --> 00:03:29.317
VIRGINIA: and had a car service lined up.
00:03:29.317 --> 00:03:33.537
VIRGINIA: So did everything go all right with your flight and with the car service?
00:03:33.537 --> 00:03:41.437
AMY: So as we were getting ready that morning, we were notified by the airline that our flight would be about an hour late.
00:03:41.437 --> 00:03:43.417
AMY: Oh, no, I didn't panic.
00:03:43.417 --> 00:03:49.557
AMY: I don't mind an extra hour, but I know we've all been in that situation where it keeps getting delayed, keeps getting delayed.
00:03:50.677 --> 00:03:55.517
AMY: So it ended up actually taking off only about 45 minutes late.
00:03:55.517 --> 00:03:59.997
AMY: We were supposed to land at 2 17 and we landed at 2 o'clock.
00:03:59.997 --> 00:04:03.577
AMY: So it was really not a problem at all.
00:04:03.577 --> 00:04:07.477
VIRGINIA: Wait, you landed earlier than you were supposed to, or you landed at 2 17?
00:04:07.477 --> 00:04:09.477
AMY: We landed at 2 17.
00:04:09.477 --> 00:04:12.237
AMY: We were supposed to land at 2 o'clock.
00:04:12.297 --> 00:04:15.117
VIRGINIA: Okay, I was like, wow, you came in earlier?
00:04:18.637 --> 00:04:20.497
AMY: And then the car service picked us up.
00:04:20.497 --> 00:04:23.797
AMY: It was Gear Fusion and they were excellent.
00:04:23.797 --> 00:04:25.477
AMY: So we went right over.
00:04:25.477 --> 00:04:27.337
AMY: We picked up our baggage.
00:04:27.337 --> 00:04:28.517
AMY: They were right there.
00:04:28.517 --> 00:04:29.817
AMY: They picked us up.
00:04:29.817 --> 00:04:31.597
AMY: They grabbed the bags for us.
00:04:31.597 --> 00:04:33.237
AMY: They had a beautiful car.
00:04:33.237 --> 00:04:35.317
AMY: So that went very well.
00:04:35.317 --> 00:04:35.697
VIRGINIA: Nice.
00:04:35.697 --> 00:04:43.477
VIRGINIA: And I know that you said that you really like the security of knowing that the person is going to be there over an Uber or a lift or something.
00:04:43.477 --> 00:04:48.277
VIRGINIA: And I can say from experience that sometimes you do have to wait a long time for those people to pull around for you.
00:04:48.277 --> 00:04:50.977
VIRGINIA: So it's nice having the car there.
00:04:50.977 --> 00:04:51.237
AMY: Right.
00:04:51.237 --> 00:04:53.037
AMY: And I thought it was very reasonable.
00:04:53.037 --> 00:04:54.677
AMY: It was $85.
00:04:54.677 --> 00:04:59.917
AMY: I know that's more than an Uber, but I thought that was very reasonable.
00:04:59.917 --> 00:05:08.557
VIRGINIA: Well, I think depending on the day and also the fact that with three of you, you might've had to get like the largest size Uber.
00:05:08.557 --> 00:05:14.277
VIRGINIA: So I'm thinking at the end of the day, it's probably not that much more, not an outrageous amount more.
00:05:14.277 --> 00:05:14.557
AMY: Right.
00:05:14.557 --> 00:05:22.137
AMY: And you have a person who is watching your flights, who literally comes into the airport, helps you with the bags.
00:05:22.137 --> 00:05:26.397
AMY: Again, for that level of service, I thought $85 was very reasonable.
00:05:26.397 --> 00:05:27.097
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:05:27.097 --> 00:05:32.897
VIRGINIA: Well, I'll make sure to put their information in the show notes for anybody else who is looking for a good car service.
00:05:33.377 --> 00:05:33.997
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:05:33.997 --> 00:05:42.337
VIRGINIA: So I know that your plan was to get right to the resort, drop your bags, maybe eat a little something, but you had multi passes set up.
00:05:42.337 --> 00:05:46.577
VIRGINIA: So you were kind of like on a little bit of a time crunch to try to make those.
00:05:46.577 --> 00:05:52.797
VIRGINIA: So tell me about that period of time between landing and actually stepping foot into Magic Kingdom.
00:05:52.797 --> 00:05:57.657
AMY: So unfortunately, I got a little nervous and I changed our first multi pass.
00:05:57.657 --> 00:05:59.517
AMY: It was supposed to be Haunted Mansion.
00:06:00.257 --> 00:06:03.597
AMY: I changed it from like four o'clock to seven.
00:06:03.597 --> 00:06:10.577
AMY: And I'm saying it's unfortunate because by the time we went to ride it, it was shut down for the night.
00:06:10.577 --> 00:06:13.017
AMY: So we never got on it that day.
00:06:13.017 --> 00:06:17.397
AMY: So I kind of wish that I had just kept it at four, but not the end of the world.
00:06:17.397 --> 00:06:22.577
VIRGINIA: Did they turn it into it and ride anything else in its place?
00:06:22.577 --> 00:06:25.457
AMY: Yes, but it's a tier two ride.
00:06:25.537 --> 00:06:28.957
AMY: So there, you know, we could have ridden.
00:06:28.957 --> 00:06:32.577
AMY: It's a small world or a little mermaid, right?
00:06:32.577 --> 00:06:36.977
AMY: And by that time of night, we didn't end up really using that pass.
00:06:36.977 --> 00:06:37.777
AMY: Let's put it that way.
00:06:37.777 --> 00:06:43.937
AMY: We tried to use it on Big Thunder Mountain, and we were not allowed to because Big Thunder Mountain is a tier one.
00:06:43.937 --> 00:06:44.277
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:06:44.277 --> 00:06:45.277
AMY: So it's fine.
00:06:45.557 --> 00:06:51.257
AMY: We did everything that we wanted to do, and Charlie and I got on Haunted Mansion another day, so it was fine.
00:06:51.257 --> 00:06:51.677
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:06:51.677 --> 00:06:58.497
AMY: So we went to the resort, our room was ready, we unpacked, we went to Bar Riva, we had a great dinner.
00:06:58.497 --> 00:07:04.557
AMY: I may have mentioned before, they had talked about Bar Riva on The Main Street Dish, so I wanted to check it out.
00:07:04.637 --> 00:07:08.757
AMY: That's really, I love to listen to all the dining reviews.
00:07:08.757 --> 00:07:10.277
AMY: That's my thing.
00:07:10.277 --> 00:07:16.277
AMY: The strategy in the dining reviews, I really just enjoy the planning of the trip.
00:07:16.277 --> 00:07:26.697
AMY: So we went over to Bar Riva, I got the Greek salad with salmon, my husband had a pasta dish with chicken, Charlie had a burger, and we really enjoyed it.
00:07:26.697 --> 00:07:28.497
AMY: It was just a nice experience.
00:07:28.497 --> 00:07:35.197
VIRGINIA: I know because I listen to The Main Street Dish religiously, that they especially recommend that Greek salad.
00:07:35.197 --> 00:07:37.477
AMY: I ate it a few times during the trip.
00:07:37.477 --> 00:07:39.697
AMY: I really enjoyed it.
00:07:39.697 --> 00:07:44.457
AMY: But anytime in Disney where you can have a healthy salad, I think you should take advantage of that.
00:07:44.457 --> 00:07:45.317
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:07:45.317 --> 00:07:47.677
VIRGINIA: From there, was it off to the Magic Kingdom?
00:07:47.677 --> 00:07:47.957
AMY: Yeah.
00:07:47.957 --> 00:07:50.797
AMY: We got over to Magic Kingdom by 5.45.
00:07:51.097 --> 00:07:54.157
AMY: We were taking our photo in front of the castle.
00:07:54.157 --> 00:07:56.457
AMY: From there, we got on Space Mountain.
00:07:56.457 --> 00:08:00.817
AMY: So Charlie and I rode Space Mountain, Nacho's cup of tea.
00:08:00.817 --> 00:08:03.257
AMY: You know, he was just kind of hanging out on a bench.
00:08:03.257 --> 00:08:04.997
AMY: And then we went over to Tron.
00:08:04.997 --> 00:08:07.717
AMY: So again, just Charlie and I went on Tron.
00:08:07.717 --> 00:08:10.217
AMY: We had never been on Tron before.
00:08:10.217 --> 00:08:15.697
AMY: And even though we had the individual Lightning Pass, it was taking a really long time.
00:08:15.697 --> 00:08:17.597
AMY: We were in that line a long time.
00:08:18.317 --> 00:08:22.897
AMY: And I was hearing the pre-show like over and over again, and I was getting nervous.
00:08:22.897 --> 00:08:27.877
AMY: So I didn't enjoy it as much the first time as I did the second time.
00:08:27.877 --> 00:08:29.677
AMY: So I was a little bit nervous.
00:08:29.677 --> 00:08:34.717
AMY: By the time I got off the ride, I was kind of weak in the knees, but I really liked it.
00:08:34.717 --> 00:08:36.277
AMY: I really enjoyed it.
00:08:36.277 --> 00:08:41.477
AMY: I can't say that I like it as much as Guardians, but I really thought it was a lot of fun.
00:08:41.477 --> 00:08:46.757
AMY: Luckily, I got to ride it a second time and then I relaxed and just enjoyed the whole thing, but it's fun.
00:08:47.377 --> 00:08:49.857
VIRGINIA: Was it still light outside while you were riding it that first time?
00:08:49.857 --> 00:08:52.697
AMY: It was dark and that just made it so much more fun.
00:08:52.697 --> 00:08:54.137
AMY: It's great in the dark.
00:08:54.137 --> 00:08:54.937
VIRGINIA: I think so too.
00:08:54.937 --> 00:09:04.137
VIRGINIA: I mean, it's fun no matter what, but there's some extra thrill about shooting out of the building at nighttime with everything lit up and everything.
00:09:04.137 --> 00:09:06.337
VIRGINIA: It just makes it extra cool.
00:09:06.337 --> 00:09:07.177
AMY: I agree.
00:09:07.177 --> 00:09:07.797
AMY: I agree.
00:09:07.797 --> 00:09:13.957
AMY: And it's funny because we haven't spent a lot of time in Magic Kingdom at night and we really enjoyed it.
00:09:14.097 --> 00:09:25.117
AMY: So from Tron, we went over to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and obviously we rode that in the dark, which was so much fun and it makes it feel so much faster too.
00:09:25.117 --> 00:09:25.617
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:09:25.617 --> 00:09:25.977
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:09:25.977 --> 00:09:28.837
VIRGINIA: I mean, it can totally change the feel of a ride.
00:09:28.837 --> 00:09:39.737
VIRGINIA: So if you've always ridden a ride at the same time of day, I highly recommend people out there try it at the opposite end of the day because it will change how it feels to you.
00:09:39.737 --> 00:09:40.437
AMY: I agree.
00:09:40.437 --> 00:09:40.997
AMY: I loved it.
00:09:41.117 --> 00:09:46.037
AMY: I loved Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at night and just the park being all lit up.
00:09:46.037 --> 00:09:47.377
AMY: It was really fun.
00:09:47.377 --> 00:09:47.737
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:09:47.737 --> 00:09:49.797
AMY: So I'm trying to think from there.
00:09:49.797 --> 00:09:53.937
AMY: That is when we walked over to get on to Haunted Mansion.
00:09:53.937 --> 00:09:57.517
AMY: And I have never seen so many people in that line.
00:09:57.517 --> 00:09:59.737
AMY: So we knew something was wrong.
00:09:59.737 --> 00:10:00.517
AMY: Right.
00:10:00.517 --> 00:10:05.097
AMY: And then I got the like a notification on my phone, you know, pick something else.
00:10:05.097 --> 00:10:07.237
AMY: Basically, the ride is down.
00:10:07.237 --> 00:10:12.957
AMY: So we walked over and Joe and I got a Dole Whip and Charlie got some popcorn.
00:10:12.957 --> 00:10:15.617
AMY: And then at that point, it was time for fireworks.
00:10:15.617 --> 00:10:21.697
AMY: So we went over and we did stand in front of that Christmas ornament shop and we watched the fireworks.
00:10:21.697 --> 00:10:27.497
AMY: And we had a great experience, very relaxed, but I wouldn't recommend it.
00:10:27.497 --> 00:10:30.577
AMY: I think you have to be further back.
00:10:30.577 --> 00:10:32.257
AMY: You know, you're very close.
00:10:32.257 --> 00:10:34.797
AMY: You're almost like craning your head back.
00:10:34.797 --> 00:10:35.937
AMY: It's very close.
00:10:35.937 --> 00:10:36.997
AMY: It's very loud.
00:10:37.157 --> 00:10:41.957
AMY: So we had a great experience, just relaxed, you know, enjoying them.
00:10:41.957 --> 00:10:45.617
AMY: But I would say for anyone else, you should step back a little bit.
00:10:45.617 --> 00:10:46.077
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:10:46.077 --> 00:10:46.277
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:10:46.277 --> 00:10:54.777
VIRGINIA: I know that you were a little nervous about figuring out where you would stand because you're not a particular fan of the crowds, which a lot of us aren't.
00:10:54.777 --> 00:11:03.957
VIRGINIA: So finding those little spots where you can kind of pull off to the side and have a more enjoyable experience, at least in terms of the number of people that are around you.
00:11:04.117 --> 00:11:07.197
VIRGINIA: That's a good tip for anybody who's looking for a spot.
00:11:07.197 --> 00:11:11.657
VIRGINIA: But if you want to be able to see the projections really well, you kind of have to be back.
00:11:11.657 --> 00:11:18.877
VIRGINIA: So I think in that case, I would recommend sort of being closer to Crystal Palace or something.
00:11:18.877 --> 00:11:20.077
AMY: Yes, I agree.
00:11:20.077 --> 00:11:22.637
AMY: I'm still searching for my perfect spot.
00:11:22.637 --> 00:11:31.137
AMY: And I think that night too, we didn't want to sacrifice an hour of sitting and waiting where we had gotten into the park so late in the day.
00:11:31.137 --> 00:11:31.737
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:11:32.177 --> 00:11:32.657
VIRGINIA: Makes sense.
00:11:33.037 --> 00:11:33.257
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:11:33.257 --> 00:11:36.997
VIRGINIA: Did you do anything after fireworks or was that the end of your night?
00:11:36.997 --> 00:11:39.077
AMY: Well, I want to say my family was beat.
00:11:39.077 --> 00:11:43.617
AMY: They wanted to go back to the hotel, but I said to them, like, could we just go on Big Thunder Mountain?
00:11:43.617 --> 00:11:46.157
AMY: Like, could we just do one more thing?
00:11:46.157 --> 00:11:49.997
AMY: And we couldn't get it on Multi Pass.
00:11:49.997 --> 00:11:55.837
AMY: And we could talk more about Multi Pass in a minute, but we weren't able to get it on Multi Pass, but we walked over.
00:11:55.837 --> 00:12:00.317
AMY: And I want to say we waited 20, 25 minutes at that point.
00:12:01.217 --> 00:12:07.317
AMY: And again, another ride that's so much fun in the dark and another family favorite, so we really enjoyed that.
00:12:07.317 --> 00:12:09.297
AMY: So that was the last ride.
00:12:09.297 --> 00:12:20.257
AMY: So that day, we certainly enjoyed the individual Lightning Lanes and the few Multi Passes that we used, but beyond what I booked, we really didn't get anything else.
00:12:20.257 --> 00:12:27.937
AMY: But I know we were limited on time, but I think Multi Pass is tough to use later in the day.
00:12:27.937 --> 00:12:33.017
AMY: I think you're more successful if you're getting into parks early in the morning.
00:12:33.017 --> 00:12:40.057
VIRGINIA: Right, because if you have at least one of those pre-booked ones very early in the morning, then it kicks off your ability to get more.
00:12:40.057 --> 00:12:40.797
AMY: Exactly.
00:12:40.797 --> 00:12:57.737
AMY: And we can go back and forth about all the different skip the ride plans, but I did like with Genie Plus, the stacking and being able to just relax early in the day and go into a park and go on one thing after another.
00:12:57.877 --> 00:12:58.417
VIRGINIA: I agree.
00:12:58.417 --> 00:12:59.197
VIRGINIA: Me too.
00:12:59.197 --> 00:13:01.577
VIRGINIA: Back to the hotel to get some rest.
00:13:01.577 --> 00:13:06.757
VIRGINIA: And the next day was Sunday, November 17th.
00:13:06.757 --> 00:13:12.377
VIRGINIA: And you said that you were going to be expecting a grocery delivery and you're going to let Charlie sleep in a little bit.
00:13:12.377 --> 00:13:15.017
VIRGINIA: So everything go okay with your groceries?
00:13:15.017 --> 00:13:17.077
AMY: Yeah, we actually, I changed my mind.
00:13:17.077 --> 00:13:21.617
AMY: We actually got the groceries delivered the night before.
00:13:21.717 --> 00:13:28.637
AMY: So when we got back to the hotel, we asked them to deliver the groceries to the room.
00:13:28.637 --> 00:13:30.937
AMY: We stopped at the front desk and we were exhausted.
00:13:30.937 --> 00:13:33.237
AMY: And they said, do you want us to deliver them?
00:13:33.237 --> 00:13:34.537
AMY: Is this a trick question?
00:13:34.537 --> 00:13:38.217
AMY: Yes, I would like them delivered.
00:13:38.217 --> 00:13:41.557
AMY: And then Joe and I that night, we sat outside and had a glass of wine.
00:13:41.557 --> 00:13:42.917
AMY: It was a beautiful night.
00:13:42.917 --> 00:13:45.597
AMY: And yes, Charlie kind of relaxed in his room.
00:13:45.597 --> 00:13:47.657
AMY: We let him sleep in the next day.
00:13:47.657 --> 00:13:52.177
AMY: He went down to the Primo Piazza and had a breakfast sandwich.
00:13:52.797 --> 00:13:56.697
AMY: Joe went down to the little cafe and had coffee and a muffin.
00:13:56.697 --> 00:13:58.597
AMY: Everything was going great.
00:13:58.597 --> 00:14:00.037
AMY: And then I got the text.
00:14:00.037 --> 00:14:00.937
AMY: It's very vague.
00:14:00.937 --> 00:14:03.637
AMY: Like, your reservation has changed.
00:14:03.637 --> 00:14:05.057
AMY: Your plans have changed.
00:14:05.057 --> 00:14:07.397
AMY: Basically, Remy was down.
00:14:07.397 --> 00:14:08.537
VIRGINIA: Oh, no.
00:14:08.537 --> 00:14:14.477
AMY: And if you remember, that was the only ride we were doing, Remy and Guardians.
00:14:14.477 --> 00:14:16.697
AMY: And then we were part popping.
00:14:16.697 --> 00:14:16.897
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:14:16.937 --> 00:14:18.017
AMY: Yes.
00:14:18.017 --> 00:14:20.137
AMY: So we took the Skyliner.
00:14:20.137 --> 00:14:21.937
AMY: We got into the park.
00:14:21.937 --> 00:14:30.657
AMY: And I can tell you the second that Remy's came back up because everyone in the park was walking a hundred miles an hour towards Remy.
00:14:30.657 --> 00:14:32.977
AMY: I did not have to look at my phone.
00:14:32.977 --> 00:14:34.817
AMY: I did not have to get an alert.
00:14:34.817 --> 00:14:36.457
AMY: It was just I felt it.
00:14:36.457 --> 00:14:39.917
AMY: We just all started walking so fast.
00:14:39.917 --> 00:14:41.517
AMY: So we did get on Remy's.
00:14:41.517 --> 00:14:43.137
AMY: I just love that ride.
00:14:43.137 --> 00:14:44.657
AMY: We enjoyed it so much.
00:14:45.237 --> 00:14:48.957
AMY: And even being on it several times before, there are little things that I forgot.
00:14:48.957 --> 00:14:50.697
AMY: So I just loved it.
00:14:50.697 --> 00:14:56.297
VIRGINIA: Can I ask, did you end up getting on it at the time that you were originally scheduled to?
00:14:56.297 --> 00:14:56.937
AMY: Yeah.
00:14:56.937 --> 00:14:57.237
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:14:57.237 --> 00:14:58.177
VIRGINIA: How was your weight?
00:14:58.177 --> 00:15:06.997
VIRGINIA: Because when something like that has been down and then suddenly it comes back up, the people who were supposed to go earlier now are coming and rushing to get there.
00:15:06.997 --> 00:15:09.177
VIRGINIA: So sometimes it makes the wait a little longer.
00:15:09.177 --> 00:15:09.837
AMY: It was fine.
00:15:09.837 --> 00:15:19.677
AMY: And I think it was fine for us because we took the skyliner and we were coming into France and a lot of those people who were doing the power walk were doing the standby.
00:15:19.677 --> 00:15:21.757
AMY: So we didn't have a weight at all.
00:15:21.757 --> 00:15:23.237
AMY: We walked right on to that.
00:15:23.237 --> 00:15:24.037
VIRGINIA: Perfect.
00:15:24.037 --> 00:15:25.977
AMY: That part was perfect.
00:15:25.977 --> 00:15:31.997
AMY: The second we came off of Remy, I had like a multi pass crash.
00:15:31.997 --> 00:15:35.477
AMY: So I couldn't book anything at Animal Kingdom.
00:15:35.477 --> 00:15:40.437
AMY: And then even worse, it was basically saying that I didn't have it at all.
00:15:41.997 --> 00:15:46.377
AMY: And I knew I had it because we had just been on Remy's.
00:15:46.377 --> 00:15:52.597
AMY: So I'm now walking with my family as fast as I possibly can.
00:15:52.597 --> 00:15:56.597
AMY: Country after country after country, I cannot find a blue umbrella.
00:15:56.597 --> 00:16:00.697
AMY: I've never spent so much time looking for blue umbrellas in this show.
00:16:00.697 --> 00:16:03.277
AMY: Walking, walking, walking so fast.
00:16:03.277 --> 00:16:07.257
AMY: At one point, there is some kind of bridge that's up.
00:16:07.257 --> 00:16:08.917
AMY: Do you know that there is a bridge?
00:16:09.337 --> 00:16:15.437
AMY: There is a bridge that you walk over if you're going by African outpost.
00:16:15.437 --> 00:16:17.397
AMY: Yes, the bridge is up.
00:16:17.397 --> 00:16:18.937
AMY: Never have seen that before.
00:16:18.937 --> 00:16:20.697
VIRGINIA: I've been there for that before.
00:16:20.697 --> 00:16:28.297
VIRGINIA: When I was there for that, I had, I'm going to call a male Karen, because it was a man acting like a Karen, being like, I have a dining reservation.
00:16:28.297 --> 00:16:29.497
VIRGINIA: You ought to put the bridge down.
00:16:29.577 --> 00:16:30.797
VIRGINIA: It was ridiculous.
00:16:30.817 --> 00:16:33.957
VIRGINIA: We were like, it's going to be back down in a minute, sir.
00:16:33.957 --> 00:16:34.577
VIRGINIA: Calm down.
00:16:34.577 --> 00:16:36.197
AMY: That is so funny.
00:16:36.197 --> 00:16:37.097
AMY: That is so funny.
00:16:37.857 --> 00:16:40.017
AMY: I almost like walked into the people in front of me.
00:16:40.157 --> 00:16:43.377
AMY: I couldn't understand why people stopped walking.
00:16:43.377 --> 00:16:45.577
AMY: It was just so funny.
00:16:45.577 --> 00:16:47.197
AMY: We waited patiently.
00:16:47.197 --> 00:16:49.657
AMY: We went over the bridge, walking, walking, walking.
00:16:49.657 --> 00:16:54.017
AMY: I finally find the blue umbrella guest service person.
00:16:54.017 --> 00:16:56.017
AMY: Just so helpful.
00:16:56.017 --> 00:17:00.797
AMY: Reloaded everything for me, just so that they were having some issues with the system.
00:17:00.797 --> 00:17:07.417
AMY: Then I was able to book everything that I wanted over at Animal Kingdom, except for Navi River Journey.
00:17:07.417 --> 00:17:10.677
AMY: But I like it.
00:17:10.677 --> 00:17:12.077
AMY: I don't have to ride it.
00:17:12.077 --> 00:17:14.997
AMY: It's not something that my family really cares about.
00:17:14.997 --> 00:17:17.497
AMY: So we didn't get that, but I did get everything else.
00:17:17.497 --> 00:17:20.917
AMY: So at that point, we actually, what did we do?
00:17:20.917 --> 00:17:21.997
VIRGINIA: Did you ride Guardians?
00:17:22.257 --> 00:17:23.017
AMY: Oh, I'm sorry.
00:17:23.017 --> 00:17:23.437
VIRGINIA: Yes.
00:17:23.437 --> 00:17:23.977
AMY: Yes.
00:17:23.977 --> 00:17:24.317
AMY: All right.
00:17:24.317 --> 00:17:25.177
AMY: I have to look at my notes.
00:17:25.177 --> 00:17:25.857
AMY: Yes.
00:17:25.857 --> 00:17:28.797
AMY: We rode Guardians and we got Disco Inferno.
00:17:28.897 --> 00:17:29.817
VIRGINIA: Oh, okay.
00:17:29.817 --> 00:17:30.417
VIRGINIA: Fun.
00:17:30.417 --> 00:17:33.217
AMY: Not my favorite, but it has a really, you know, it had a good beat.
00:17:33.217 --> 00:17:33.397
AMY: Yeah.
00:17:33.397 --> 00:17:34.937
AMY: So we had a lot of fun on that.
00:17:34.937 --> 00:17:37.637
AMY: And then we went to lunch at Connection.
00:17:37.637 --> 00:17:47.517
AMY: If you remember, we were supposed to go to Sanaa for lunch, but things were taking a little bit longer than we had anticipated.
00:17:47.517 --> 00:17:53.457
AMY: So we decided to have lunch at Connection, and then we ended up going to Sanaa for dinner.
00:17:53.457 --> 00:17:55.317
AMY: We changed the reservation.
00:17:55.317 --> 00:17:55.777
VIRGINIA: Oh, good.
00:17:55.777 --> 00:17:56.357
AMY: Good plan.
00:17:56.597 --> 00:18:01.337
AMY: Someone at The Blue Umbrella once again was able to help us.
00:18:01.337 --> 00:18:03.297
AMY: And I think it's such a good tip.
00:18:03.297 --> 00:18:05.377
AMY: Don't struggle.
00:18:05.377 --> 00:18:11.237
AMY: I was afraid that I didn't modify the reservation in time, that we would be charged.
00:18:11.237 --> 00:18:13.857
AMY: So I just went over and the person helped me with everything.
00:18:13.857 --> 00:18:17.017
AMY: So I would say definitely ask for help.
00:18:17.017 --> 00:18:23.617
VIRGINIA: And you also, you had a Toledo reservation booked, which they canceled that for you at the same time?
00:18:23.937 --> 00:18:25.577
AMY: Yes, they helped us with everything.
00:18:25.577 --> 00:18:28.557
AMY: So we canceled Toledo.
00:18:28.557 --> 00:18:32.217
AMY: We had dinner at Sana'a and we ended up just getting a quick dinner.
00:18:32.217 --> 00:18:34.737
AMY: I'm sorry, a quick lunch in Epcot.
00:18:34.737 --> 00:18:36.197
AMY: We ate at Connections.
00:18:36.197 --> 00:18:39.517
AMY: I got a black bean burger and the guys got chicken sandwiches.
00:18:39.517 --> 00:18:43.797
AMY: And then we took an Uber over to Animal Kingdom.
00:18:43.797 --> 00:18:48.257
AMY: And then we went to the Lion King show, which I absolutely love.
00:18:48.257 --> 00:18:50.237
AMY: And it was just an especially great show.
00:18:50.237 --> 00:18:52.237
AMY: I don't know why I enjoyed it so much.
00:18:52.497 --> 00:18:56.257
AMY: We went on the Safari and that was a little bit different.
00:18:56.257 --> 00:18:58.577
AMY: It was a different time of day for us.
00:18:58.577 --> 00:19:02.997
AMY: I didn't see any lions or elephants, but lots of rhinos.
00:19:02.997 --> 00:19:05.677
AMY: And I did see the baby zebra.
00:19:05.677 --> 00:19:06.997
AMY: So that was exciting.
00:19:06.997 --> 00:19:09.737
AMY: Yeah, that was very exciting.
00:19:09.737 --> 00:19:13.197
AMY: We went on Avatar, which we all absolutely love.
00:19:13.197 --> 00:19:15.077
AMY: So that was great.
00:19:15.077 --> 00:19:16.837
AMY: And then we went to Nomad Lounge.
00:19:16.837 --> 00:19:20.437
AMY: And I always have had great experiences at Nomad.
00:19:21.177 --> 00:19:28.817
AMY: I did not have the best experience this time, just the service was incredibly slow.
00:19:28.817 --> 00:19:34.757
AMY: I asked the server if there was a special beer that was unique to Animal Kingdom.
00:19:34.757 --> 00:19:37.357
AMY: And he seemed to know what I was talking about.
00:19:37.357 --> 00:19:44.077
AMY: And again, I think that I've seen people, you know, Disney content creators talk about this beer.
00:19:44.077 --> 00:19:47.857
AMY: He brings over like the darkest beer I've ever seen.
00:19:47.857 --> 00:19:49.717
AMY: It wasn't what I was talking about.
00:19:50.357 --> 00:19:53.797
AMY: I didn't care for it, you know, my husband's trying to call him over.
00:19:53.797 --> 00:19:55.837
AMY: And I just basically said, this was my fault.
00:19:55.837 --> 00:19:57.917
AMY: Could I have something else?
00:19:57.917 --> 00:20:04.737
AMY: So it literally, I think it took him 30 minutes to get me another beer.
00:20:04.737 --> 00:20:08.777
AMY: And this time, Charlie and Joe are finished with their drink.
00:20:08.777 --> 00:20:10.797
AMY: We want to leave.
00:20:10.797 --> 00:20:16.957
AMY: So that was, you know, again, not the end of the world, but just very slow service.
00:20:16.957 --> 00:20:21.157
AMY: And I wasn't that bothered by it, but my husband was frustrated.
00:20:21.157 --> 00:20:24.977
AMY: And then that was making me, you know, anxious.
00:20:24.977 --> 00:20:29.517
AMY: So again, not the end of the world, but not my best experience at Nomad.
00:20:29.517 --> 00:20:34.697
AMY: From there, we went over and rode Dinosaur, possibly the last time.
00:20:34.697 --> 00:20:35.617
AMY: Just loved it.
00:20:35.617 --> 00:20:36.397
AMY: So much fun.
00:20:36.397 --> 00:20:43.557
AMY: And on the ride, there was a dad with two little boys, and they just were so cute and so excited.
00:20:43.557 --> 00:20:45.477
AMY: So it was just, it was a lot of fun.
00:20:45.477 --> 00:20:47.897
VIRGINIA: That must have reminded you of when your boys were young.
00:20:48.237 --> 00:20:49.077
AMY: Exactly.
00:20:49.077 --> 00:20:50.737
AMY: Exactly.
00:20:50.737 --> 00:20:51.717
VIRGINIA: Sweet.
00:20:51.717 --> 00:20:53.257
AMY: Yeah, it was very sweet.
00:20:53.257 --> 00:21:00.517
AMY: And then from there, we did go over to Sana'a, and we had the bread service, and I had buttered bread.
00:21:00.517 --> 00:21:03.037
VIRGINIA: I was waiting for you to say bread service.
00:21:04.737 --> 00:21:12.017
AMY: And I did get the beer that I had wanted to get at Nomad Lounge, so they did have it at Sana'a, so I got the beer there.
00:21:12.017 --> 00:21:13.057
VIRGINIA: And was it good?
00:21:13.057 --> 00:21:14.877
VIRGINIA: Did it live up to expectations?
00:21:14.877 --> 00:21:15.837
AMY: It was delicious.
00:21:16.657 --> 00:21:22.797
AMY: The guys had braised beef and I had buttered chicken, and we just had a really nice meal.
00:21:22.797 --> 00:21:28.797
AMY: It was interesting that the resorts weren't decorated yet for Christmas, which I was surprised.
00:21:28.797 --> 00:21:38.517
AMY: And I know that they kind of take turns, but I didn't see any decorations up at all at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
00:21:38.517 --> 00:21:46.217
VIRGINIA: Yeah, you're the second person I've interviewed that has said they specifically went there hoping to see the Christmas decorations and were disappointed.
00:21:46.217 --> 00:21:46.877
AMY: Yes.
00:21:46.877 --> 00:21:47.197
AMY: Yes.
00:21:47.197 --> 00:21:57.257
AMY: It seemed to be a little bit later than usual, because we have traveled in November before and definitely have seen more resorts decorated.
00:21:57.257 --> 00:21:58.137
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:21:58.137 --> 00:21:59.337
AMY: So that was the end of that night.
00:21:59.337 --> 00:22:02.977
AMY: We just kind of went back and relaxed at the resort after that.
00:22:02.977 --> 00:22:08.077
AMY: And we do love to just sit outside at night on the balcony and just relax.
00:22:08.077 --> 00:22:08.617
AMY: I love that.
00:22:09.017 --> 00:22:17.397
VIRGINIA: Can I go back to what you said about your arrival night, just because now that you've said you were relaxing on the balcony again, you said you relaxed with a glass of wine.
00:22:17.397 --> 00:22:20.777
VIRGINIA: Did you get to order wine through your grocery order?
00:22:20.777 --> 00:22:22.777
AMY: Well, I normally do.
00:22:22.777 --> 00:22:25.117
AMY: I did not this time because I was nervous.
00:22:25.117 --> 00:22:30.377
AMY: I didn't know how that would work if I was not there to sign for it.
00:22:30.377 --> 00:22:34.777
AMY: I actually think it's probably not an issue, but I just didn't do it this time.
00:22:36.757 --> 00:22:44.477
AMY: What I did that first night at Riviera, Primo Piatto is open until 11 o'clock.
00:22:44.477 --> 00:22:44.777
VIRGINIA: Got it.
00:22:44.777 --> 00:22:52.497
AMY: They have a whole refrigerated section of grab-and-go food, and then they also have beer and wine.
00:22:52.497 --> 00:22:54.937
AMY: I actually bought a bottle of wine there.
00:22:54.937 --> 00:22:58.077
AMY: That's what we had that first night and the second night.
00:22:58.077 --> 00:22:58.617
AMY: Yes.
00:22:58.617 --> 00:23:04.077
VIRGINIA: I had a bottle of wine from the Wilderness Lodge store, same thing.
00:23:04.357 --> 00:23:09.877
VIRGINIA: I don't remember what the brand was, but it felt like a fairy-tale brand in the way that it was named.
00:23:09.957 --> 00:23:11.977
VIRGINIA: It seemed like maybe it was Disney wine.
00:23:11.977 --> 00:23:12.297
VIRGINIA: I don't know.
00:23:12.497 --> 00:23:13.757
VIRGINIA: It was good.
00:23:14.877 --> 00:23:23.297
AMY: That's so funny because I feel like years ago, you could get different wine at the different resorts, but now I think you're exactly right.
00:23:23.297 --> 00:23:25.697
AMY: Everywhere we went was the same wine.
00:23:25.697 --> 00:23:30.877
AMY: But that's a nice thing to know about that, because everything at that point was closed.
00:23:31.297 --> 00:23:38.957
AMY: But you can get beer and wine, and again, some quick service food at that Primo Piatto until 11.
00:23:38.957 --> 00:23:50.197
VIRGINIA: Top tip, if you are a DVC member or I suppose an AP too, if you're buying at a place that is really more of a store than a restaurant, you get your discount.
00:23:50.197 --> 00:23:52.377
AMY: I think I may have forgotten.
00:23:52.777 --> 00:23:56.097
VIRGINIA: I don't think it would have counted there if it was coming from Primo Piatto.
00:23:56.117 --> 00:23:56.897
AMY: Okay.
00:23:57.357 --> 00:24:04.057
VIRGINIA: At Wilderness Lodge, it's in their mercantile store, so it's very much a store, so the discount counts on most things.
00:24:04.057 --> 00:24:07.937
VIRGINIA: Maybe I'm wrong because it was alcohol, but I think I was able to get the discount.
00:24:07.937 --> 00:24:08.877
AMY: Good to know.
00:24:08.877 --> 00:24:16.897
AMY: We did do much better this time remembering the discount, maybe because now we are DVC and annual pass holders.
00:24:16.897 --> 00:24:20.597
AMY: But I also find that places are better at asking you.
00:24:20.597 --> 00:24:25.797
AMY: I felt like everywhere we went, somebody said, do you have a discount, which is helpful.
00:24:25.837 --> 00:24:27.237
VIRGINIA: For sure.
00:24:27.237 --> 00:24:27.757
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:24:27.757 --> 00:24:32.977
VIRGINIA: So Monday, November 18th, you were going to be doing some hopping today.
00:24:32.977 --> 00:24:42.537
VIRGINIA: And I noted that you and Charlie were planning to go to Magic Kingdom by yourselves to give Joe a little bit of a relaxing morning.
00:24:42.537 --> 00:24:46.497
VIRGINIA: So what did he end up doing with his time?
00:24:46.497 --> 00:24:50.457
AMY: He actually like watched the Star Wars movie in the room.
00:24:50.457 --> 00:24:55.257
AMY: He went down and did some shopping, got himself a Mickey Mouse T-shirt.
00:24:56.217 --> 00:25:00.377
AMY: He just relaxed and he had some issues with his knee.
00:25:00.377 --> 00:25:03.817
AMY: So he was happy just to kind of rest his knee and take it easy.
00:25:03.817 --> 00:25:06.377
VIRGINIA: Well, what did you and Charlie get into?
00:25:06.377 --> 00:25:09.297
AMY: To Magic Kingdom about 9.45.
00:25:09.297 --> 00:25:15.537
AMY: We did go to Philhar Magic, which I haven't been to in years, and we loved it.
00:25:15.537 --> 00:25:18.037
AMY: I enjoyed that so much.
00:25:18.037 --> 00:25:22.717
AMY: As you said, I'll definitely have that on my list of regular things that I do.
00:25:23.697 --> 00:25:30.257
VIRGINIA: It gets overlooked so often by a lot of people, and I just think it's such a hidden gem.
00:25:30.257 --> 00:25:30.917
AMY: I agree.
00:25:30.917 --> 00:25:31.657
AMY: I loved it.
00:25:31.657 --> 00:25:33.237
AMY: I enjoyed it so much.
00:25:33.237 --> 00:25:35.997
AMY: We did get on Haunted Mansion.
00:25:35.997 --> 00:25:42.417
AMY: We got on Big Thunder Mountain, and then we did get on Tron, and it was much quicker this time.
00:25:42.417 --> 00:25:49.517
AMY: The individual Lightning Lane, we got right on, and I just relaxed and enjoyed it so much.
00:25:49.517 --> 00:25:50.817
AMY: So it was a lot of fun.
00:25:50.817 --> 00:25:51.677
AMY: And then that was it.
00:25:51.837 --> 00:25:52.277
AMY: That was all.
00:25:52.277 --> 00:25:56.417
AMY: We really just wanted to do like our favorite things.
00:25:56.417 --> 00:26:02.037
AMY: And then Charlie and I went over to Steakhouse 71, and we had lunch.
00:26:02.037 --> 00:26:09.777
AMY: And he got the steak frites, and I got a chopped salad and crab cakes, and everything was delicious.
00:26:09.777 --> 00:26:14.077
AMY: And we had a wonderful waiter from New York, and he was excellent.
00:26:14.077 --> 00:26:18.557
AMY: He just kind of made the lunch, and he just gave great recommendations and great service.
00:26:18.557 --> 00:26:19.717
AMY: So we really enjoyed that.
00:26:19.897 --> 00:26:24.097
AMY: Charlie and I went back to Riviera, and Charlie just wanted to relax.
00:26:24.097 --> 00:26:31.017
AMY: He went down to the pool and got a gelato, and then Joe and I took the Skyliner and went over to Epcot.
00:26:31.017 --> 00:26:36.957
VIRGINIA: Did Charlie end up kind of hanging back for the rest of the evening, or did he eventually join you at Epcot?
00:26:36.957 --> 00:26:46.117
AMY: So Joe and I walked around, we got an ice cream, Joe got a slice of pizza, we just kind of walked around the countries, had fun walking around.
00:26:46.117 --> 00:26:48.237
AMY: We went back to Riviera.
00:26:48.657 --> 00:26:57.877
AMY: I think the guys took a nap, I took a bath, Joe and I ended up eating dinner again at Barriva, and then all three of us went back to Epcot.
00:26:57.877 --> 00:26:58.577
VIRGINIA: Got it.
00:26:58.577 --> 00:26:59.657
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:26:59.657 --> 00:27:03.357
VIRGINIA: And this was a night that had extended evening hours, correct?
00:27:03.357 --> 00:27:04.197
AMY: Yes.
00:27:04.217 --> 00:27:05.377
AMY: Okay.
00:27:05.377 --> 00:27:25.757
AMY: So Charlie and I went on Guardians, and it was getting close to nine o'clock, so we probably got to Guardians, I'd say around eight o'clock, and that took a long time, too, because I think it was like all of the people trying to use that pass before the park closed.
00:27:25.757 --> 00:27:28.357
AMY: So that took a little bit longer than normal.
00:27:28.357 --> 00:27:34.297
AMY: So that time we got, I ran, and then from there, Charlie wanted to get something to eat.
00:27:34.297 --> 00:27:42.697
AMY: And I know this is against the rules, but I did use Joe's magic band, and I rode Guardians the second time using his.
00:27:42.697 --> 00:27:44.777
VIRGINIA: Here's my thing, you paid for those, right?
00:27:44.817 --> 00:27:46.437
VIRGINIA: You paid for individual learning.
00:27:46.437 --> 00:27:48.997
VIRGINIA: So to me, that is not cheating the system.
00:27:48.997 --> 00:27:51.717
VIRGINIA: You paid for three people to ride it.
00:27:51.717 --> 00:27:54.117
VIRGINIA: I have done that same thing myself.
00:27:54.117 --> 00:27:56.837
VIRGINIA: So totally legit.
00:27:58.377 --> 00:27:58.857
AMY: All right.
00:27:58.857 --> 00:28:03.937
AMY: So Joe is in the American Vavilion, like sitting on a bench.
00:28:03.937 --> 00:28:06.637
AMY: I'm getting on to Guardians for the second time.
00:28:06.637 --> 00:28:08.897
AMY: I'm sending Charlie off to get something to eat.
00:28:08.897 --> 00:28:12.097
AMY: But at this point, it's getting closer to nine o'clock.
00:28:12.297 --> 00:28:14.897
AMY: So I end up going on Guardians again.
00:28:14.897 --> 00:28:16.397
AMY: I got conga.
00:28:16.397 --> 00:28:17.377
AMY: That was five.
00:28:17.377 --> 00:28:19.537
AMY: I still have never had September.
00:28:19.537 --> 00:28:22.337
AMY: I've been on this ride like 15 times.
00:28:22.337 --> 00:28:28.957
VIRGINIA: You were one of the people that get stuck with no September for so many tries.
00:28:28.957 --> 00:28:31.257
VIRGINIA: It's going to happen for you one day, I feel certain.
00:28:31.257 --> 00:28:37.357
VIRGINIA: But I hear of so many people who are like, I've heard everything but September ever.
00:28:37.357 --> 00:28:38.017
VIRGINIA: I don't know what it is.
00:28:39.517 --> 00:28:44.597
AMY: Now, poor Charlie, he did not eat dinner with us because he wasn't hungry.
00:28:44.597 --> 00:28:48.917
AMY: When we went to Barriva, he thought he could get something at Epcot.
00:28:48.917 --> 00:28:54.997
AMY: I even looked on the app or the website and it said, select food places are open.
00:28:54.997 --> 00:28:59.297
AMY: That is very limited when you're going into the extended hours.
00:28:59.297 --> 00:29:01.077
VIRGINIA: It's basically fish and chips.
00:29:01.077 --> 00:29:02.297
VIRGINIA: That's your choice.
00:29:02.297 --> 00:29:04.057
AMY: Yes.
00:29:04.057 --> 00:29:05.437
AMY: I'm sure you can predict this.
00:29:05.437 --> 00:29:07.137
AMY: Charlie doesn't like fish and chips.
00:29:07.777 --> 00:29:09.497
VIRGINIA: There we go.
00:29:09.497 --> 00:29:12.017
AMY: So I get off of Guardians.
00:29:12.017 --> 00:29:15.777
AMY: He's up near almost like the France Pavilion.
00:29:16.197 --> 00:29:22.677
AMY: We're texting and we don't realize it, but I'm walking towards him and he is walking towards me.
00:29:22.677 --> 00:29:27.337
AMY: So I end up in France and he ends up back near the ball.
00:29:27.337 --> 00:29:27.817
AMY: I know.
00:29:27.817 --> 00:29:29.777
AMY: It was not our best moment.
00:29:30.337 --> 00:29:34.457
AMY: I really wanted to enjoy the fireworks, but the fireworks are going off.
00:29:35.377 --> 00:29:39.657
AMY: And I'm trying to get him situated and get him something to eat.
00:29:39.657 --> 00:29:44.057
AMY: And I'm starting to feel anxious at this point that Joe has been sitting there for so long.
00:29:44.057 --> 00:29:44.537
VIRGINIA: Oh, wait.
00:29:44.537 --> 00:29:46.077
VIRGINIA: Joe is still back in America.
00:29:46.077 --> 00:29:46.357
VIRGINIA: Oh my gosh.
00:29:46.357 --> 00:29:47.157
AMY: He's back in America.
00:29:47.157 --> 00:29:48.097
VIRGINIA: I forgot about Joe.
00:29:48.097 --> 00:29:48.777
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:29:48.777 --> 00:29:49.217
AMY: Yes.
00:29:49.237 --> 00:29:53.497
AMY: He was in America while I rode Guardians twice.
00:29:53.497 --> 00:29:56.757
AMY: And again, that first time getting on took a while.
00:29:56.757 --> 00:30:02.397
AMY: He sat there for so long that he said a security guard approached him and asked him if he was okay.
00:30:04.117 --> 00:30:05.457
VIRGINIA: That was nice of him.
00:30:05.457 --> 00:30:05.897
AMY: Yes.
00:30:05.897 --> 00:30:07.017
AMY: Yes.
00:30:07.017 --> 00:30:07.957
AMY: But Joe was fine.
00:30:07.957 --> 00:30:09.497
AMY: Joe is very easygoing.
00:30:09.497 --> 00:30:16.497
AMY: So at some point, I text Charlie and just say, there's really not any food here.
00:30:16.497 --> 00:30:18.717
AMY: Why don't you head back to the resort?
00:30:18.717 --> 00:30:25.757
AMY: But of course, now the fireworks are over and you've got the mass exodus.
00:30:25.757 --> 00:30:29.397
AMY: So he eventually got back to the resort and got something to eat.
00:30:29.637 --> 00:30:32.937
AMY: Joe and I stayed and basically, we just got a beer.
00:30:32.937 --> 00:30:35.077
AMY: We sat in like Rosen Crown.
00:30:35.077 --> 00:30:41.697
AMY: We got a beer inside Rosen Crown and came out and sat outside and just kind of relaxed and then we went back.
00:30:41.697 --> 00:30:44.757
AMY: We didn't ride any other rides at that point.
00:30:44.757 --> 00:30:54.737
AMY: We did talk to a mom and daughter on the Skyliner who really utilized the extra hours and had been on Remy's twice and had loved it.
00:30:54.737 --> 00:30:56.597
AMY: So that was all for that night.
00:30:56.597 --> 00:30:58.757
AMY: At that point, we just took the Skyliner back.
00:30:59.477 --> 00:31:01.777
VIRGINIA: Can I ask for dinner this night?
00:31:01.777 --> 00:31:03.957
VIRGINIA: You had originally planned to go to Ravello.
00:31:04.057 --> 00:31:05.297
AMY: We canceled that.
00:31:05.297 --> 00:31:06.057
VIRGINIA: You canceled, okay?
00:31:06.057 --> 00:31:08.697
VIRGINIA: I didn't know if maybe you had moved it to the following day or something.
00:31:08.697 --> 00:31:10.537
AMY: No, we ended up canceling.
00:31:10.537 --> 00:31:11.797
AMY: That's the thing.
00:31:12.337 --> 00:31:15.517
AMY: That whole day spiraled out of control a little bit.
00:31:15.517 --> 00:31:18.357
AMY: When people are eating at different times.
00:31:18.357 --> 00:31:21.297
AMY: Also, Charlie and I had eaten at Steak 71.
00:31:21.297 --> 00:31:25.437
AMY: We had had the big lunch, so we didn't need to have a big dinner.
00:31:25.437 --> 00:31:40.077
AMY: I love Ravello, but it just seemed like the logistics of the different parks and just taking that time to go over to another resort and eat dinner just didn't seem realistic.
00:31:40.077 --> 00:31:48.077
VIRGINIA: I'm just upset on a personal level because I was waiting to hear about this meal, but I'm going to try to get over there myself.
00:31:48.077 --> 00:31:55.837
AMY: I want you to, we've eaten at Ravello before, and it is just so beautiful and relaxing over there.
00:31:56.677 --> 00:31:58.217
AMY: And the food is excellent.
00:31:58.217 --> 00:31:59.057
AMY: It really is.
00:31:59.257 --> 00:32:00.957
AMY: I highly recommend it.
00:32:00.957 --> 00:32:03.857
VIRGINIA: I'm going to add it to my list for hopefully February.
00:32:03.857 --> 00:32:04.917
AMY: Good.
00:32:04.917 --> 00:32:09.517
VIRGINIA: Tuesday, November 19th, this was a Hollywood Studios day.
00:32:09.517 --> 00:32:10.237
AMY: Yes.
00:32:10.237 --> 00:32:13.277
AMY: So we got up and we got over there.
00:32:13.277 --> 00:32:17.357
AMY: Our first ride was Star Tours.
00:32:17.357 --> 00:32:21.397
AMY: And from there, we went on Rise of the Resistance.
00:32:21.397 --> 00:32:22.457
AMY: That was a lot of fun.
00:32:24.617 --> 00:32:29.317
AMY: After I got Star Tours, I was able to book Rock and Roller Coaster.
00:32:29.317 --> 00:32:32.577
AMY: So Charlie and I rode Rock and Roller Coaster.
00:32:32.577 --> 00:32:36.137
AMY: And it's funny because I've written it quite a few times.
00:32:36.137 --> 00:32:37.937
AMY: I always love it.
00:32:37.937 --> 00:32:41.537
AMY: And I've always heard people say that their head gets banged around.
00:32:41.537 --> 00:32:44.017
AMY: And I never knew what they were talking about.
00:32:44.017 --> 00:32:46.497
AMY: For some reason, I was like a rag doll.
00:32:46.497 --> 00:32:48.097
AMY: I could not control my head.
00:32:48.097 --> 00:32:50.157
AMY: It was just banging everywhere.
00:32:50.157 --> 00:32:52.437
AMY: So I'm not sure why it bothered me this time.
00:32:52.717 --> 00:32:54.937
AMY: But it had in other times.
00:32:54.937 --> 00:32:58.957
VIRGINIA: Yeah, I can say that over the years in writing that I never used to have that problem.
00:32:58.957 --> 00:33:03.637
VIRGINIA: But within the past year or two, I noticed that my head bangs all around.
00:33:03.637 --> 00:33:05.997
VIRGINIA: And I don't know what the difference was.
00:33:05.997 --> 00:33:10.777
VIRGINIA: And I seems like every time was wearing earrings with a post back.
00:33:10.777 --> 00:33:15.097
VIRGINIA: And so then I'm getting stabbed in my neck over and over again.
00:33:15.097 --> 00:33:19.597
VIRGINIA: Yeah, I don't know what it is, but maybe they'll smooth it out a little bit when the Muppets take over.
00:33:19.597 --> 00:33:20.977
AMY: I hope so.
00:33:20.977 --> 00:33:29.697
AMY: And again, I grew up in Massachusetts, so I have that connection with Aerosmith, but it doesn't really, you know, it's fine.
00:33:29.697 --> 00:33:32.657
AMY: I think the Muppets, it'll be adorable.
00:33:32.657 --> 00:33:33.517
VIRGINIA: I agree.
00:33:33.517 --> 00:33:34.237
VIRGINIA: I agree.
00:33:34.237 --> 00:33:43.457
AMY: From there, we went on Toy Story, and then we went on Slinky, and then we went over to ABC Commissary for lunch.
00:33:43.457 --> 00:33:47.697
AMY: And I had like a Greek salad pita with hummus, which was good.
00:33:48.477 --> 00:33:52.437
VIRGINIA: That's what I tend to get when I'm wanting to be healthy.
00:33:52.437 --> 00:33:57.917
VIRGINIA: When I'm not wanting to be healthy, I get that grilled cheese chicken, buffalo chicken thing.
00:33:57.917 --> 00:33:58.797
VIRGINIA: So good.
00:33:58.797 --> 00:34:01.417
VIRGINIA: But I really like that hummus bowl.
00:34:01.417 --> 00:34:07.117
VIRGINIA: It's just, it's so good and fresh and not something you would at all expect to get out of a place like that.
00:34:07.117 --> 00:34:07.997
AMY: No, no.
00:34:07.997 --> 00:34:09.337
AMY: So I enjoyed that.
00:34:09.337 --> 00:34:16.897
AMY: So from there, Joe went back to the resort, and Charlie and I took the Skyliner over to Epcot.
00:34:17.897 --> 00:34:20.837
VIRGINIA: And this was purely to ride Guardians, right?
00:34:20.837 --> 00:34:21.397
AMY: Yes.
00:34:22.417 --> 00:34:24.037
AMY: And to eat the French ice cream.
00:34:24.037 --> 00:34:27.317
AMY: I like the salted caramel French ice cream.
00:34:27.317 --> 00:34:30.037
AMY: So we got some ice cream and we went on Guardians.
00:34:30.037 --> 00:34:32.897
AMY: And again, I ran.
00:34:32.957 --> 00:34:34.237
VIRGINIA: Oh, no.
00:34:36.817 --> 00:34:38.137
VIRGINIA: One day, one day, Amy.
00:34:38.637 --> 00:34:39.597
VIRGINIA: It's going to happen for you.
00:34:39.597 --> 00:34:42.117
VIRGINIA: And when it does, please text me.
00:34:45.017 --> 00:34:49.717
AMY: So then we just took the Skyliner back to Riviera.
00:34:49.717 --> 00:34:53.097
AMY: We were able to relax for a bit and shower.
00:34:53.097 --> 00:34:58.377
AMY: And that was the night we went into Disney Springs and we went to Homecoming for dinner.
00:34:58.377 --> 00:34:59.997
AMY: And we really did go.
00:34:59.997 --> 00:35:02.437
VIRGINIA: And this was your very first time at Homecoming.
00:35:02.797 --> 00:35:05.097
VIRGINIA: So, overall impressions?
00:35:05.097 --> 00:35:06.337
AMY: Loved it.
00:35:06.337 --> 00:35:13.437
AMY: Our server was just adorable, like the Southern charm, so sweet, so helpful.
00:35:13.437 --> 00:35:17.617
AMY: We sat outside and Joe, you know, the servings are huge.
00:35:17.617 --> 00:35:23.817
AMY: So Joe and I actually split a salad that had like fried chicken strips on the top.
00:35:23.817 --> 00:35:25.077
AMY: I would highly recommend it.
00:35:25.077 --> 00:35:26.597
AMY: It was wonderful.
00:35:26.597 --> 00:35:29.677
AMY: And Charlie had a fried chicken sandwich.
00:35:29.677 --> 00:35:31.737
AMY: We just, we really enjoyed it a lot.
00:35:32.137 --> 00:35:34.817
AMY: I did not get the, what did you tell me to get?
00:35:34.817 --> 00:35:35.957
VIRGINIA: The deviled eggs.
00:35:36.037 --> 00:35:41.397
AMY: No, just because again, I think, you know, so much, this is the last night of our trip, so much eating.
00:35:41.397 --> 00:35:42.897
AMY: I couldn't eat anymore.
00:35:42.897 --> 00:35:47.317
VIRGINIA: I would recommend getting those when you have lots of people who want to eat them.
00:35:47.317 --> 00:35:52.917
VIRGINIA: And as I recall, you have people in your family that would not eat a deviled egg to begin with.
00:35:52.917 --> 00:35:59.277
VIRGINIA: So there's no way that you could eat that many by yourself or even if you and Joe are splitting them.
00:35:59.797 --> 00:36:05.457
VIRGINIA: I mean, you're not guest on, so eating them in the eggs is not for most people.
00:36:05.457 --> 00:36:11.857
AMY: No, no, but I will do that sometime when we have, like as you said, when we're there with friends or family.
00:36:11.857 --> 00:36:13.937
AMY: But this night we had so much fun.
00:36:13.937 --> 00:36:15.717
AMY: All the Christmas trees are up.
00:36:15.737 --> 00:36:22.317
AMY: There's different themed trees, and we really enjoyed walking around and looking at the different trees.
00:36:22.317 --> 00:36:34.077
AMY: Charlie shopped a little bit in the Levi's store, and we always go to the Lego store, and we just always enjoy the huge Lego creations that are on display.
00:36:34.077 --> 00:36:37.497
AMY: So we really just enjoyed walking around.
00:36:37.497 --> 00:36:42.337
AMY: And then I said to the guys, I really want to see the fireworks at Epcov.
00:36:42.337 --> 00:36:45.957
AMY: I didn't get to see them last night, and I knew they were not going.
00:36:45.957 --> 00:36:48.017
AMY: So I said, I am fine by myself.
00:36:48.017 --> 00:36:49.837
AMY: I really am fine.
00:36:49.837 --> 00:36:53.877
AMY: So they went back to the resort, and I went back to the resort too.
00:36:53.877 --> 00:37:00.197
AMY: I really didn't know the best way for me to get to Epcot from Disney Springs.
00:37:00.197 --> 00:37:02.457
AMY: So we just all went back to the resort.
00:37:02.457 --> 00:37:05.777
AMY: I said goodbye to them, and I took the Skyliner over.
00:37:05.777 --> 00:37:08.117
VIRGINIA: I think that was as good a way as any, honestly.
00:37:08.117 --> 00:37:14.657
VIRGINIA: I mean, the only other thing I might have recommended would be instead of hopping on a bus to Riviera, hop on a bus to Beach Club.
00:37:14.657 --> 00:37:16.377
VIRGINIA: That way you're like right there.
00:37:16.377 --> 00:37:21.357
VIRGINIA: But I think you probably went, you know, as quick away as most anyway.
00:37:21.417 --> 00:37:22.817
AMY: Okay, thank you.
00:37:22.817 --> 00:37:25.037
AMY: So I went over by myself.
00:37:25.037 --> 00:37:30.157
AMY: I went to the American Pavilion and I bought a beer and then I walked over.
00:37:30.157 --> 00:37:37.457
AMY: So I was standing in the Japan Pavilion and just watched the fireworks and just enjoyed it so much.
00:37:37.457 --> 00:37:44.037
AMY: And I know I remember you saying that you didn't really enjoy the Epcot fireworks that much when you went.
00:37:44.037 --> 00:37:49.437
VIRGINIA: You know, it's because I didn't get emotionally touched for Luminous like I did previous shows.
00:37:49.737 --> 00:37:52.137
VIRGINIA: The fireworks are spectacular, the Disney fireworks.
00:37:52.137 --> 00:37:58.757
VIRGINIA: It's just what I'm looking for out of a show like that is I'm looking for the tears to start to come.
00:37:58.757 --> 00:37:59.037
AMY: Right.
00:37:59.037 --> 00:38:04.237
AMY: And I could never compare the Epcot fireworks to Magic Kingdom fireworks.
00:38:04.517 --> 00:38:05.097
AMY: I do.
00:38:05.337 --> 00:38:07.117
AMY: I stand there and cry, of course.
00:38:07.117 --> 00:38:14.217
AMY: Even when I'm watching over at Grand Floridian, I'm still crying when I'm watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks.
00:38:14.217 --> 00:38:20.857
AMY: So no, I didn't cry at the Epcot, but I think I was just so happy that I got to see them.
00:38:20.857 --> 00:38:22.257
AMY: I just enjoyed it.
00:38:22.257 --> 00:38:31.417
AMY: It was probably the one rare mom moment on a trip where you can just enjoy something all by yourself and not have to worry like, are you hot?
00:38:31.417 --> 00:38:32.317
AMY: Are you cold?
00:38:32.317 --> 00:38:33.777
AMY: Did you get popcorn?
00:38:33.777 --> 00:38:34.697
AMY: Can you see?
00:38:34.697 --> 00:38:38.117
AMY: So it was just fun to just enjoy that on my own.
00:38:38.117 --> 00:38:39.717
AMY: So that was fun.
00:38:39.717 --> 00:38:41.837
VIRGINIA: That's a good way to end your night.
00:38:41.837 --> 00:38:42.557
AMY: It was.
00:38:42.557 --> 00:38:43.577
AMY: It really was.
00:38:43.577 --> 00:38:51.017
VIRGINIA: So how was the Skyliner back over to the resort, considering that you were going at the end of the fireworks?
00:38:51.017 --> 00:38:54.937
AMY: I am 4'11, but I can walk really quickly.
00:38:54.937 --> 00:39:00.177
AMY: I was just doing my power walk and I really did not wait long.
00:39:00.177 --> 00:39:01.637
AMY: I think I have it on my notes.
00:39:01.637 --> 00:39:08.117
AMY: I got in line at 9'24, and I was on the Skyliner by 9'38.
00:39:08.117 --> 00:39:09.697
AMY: So I did really well.
00:39:09.697 --> 00:39:10.837
VIRGINIA: You are a fast walker.
00:39:10.837 --> 00:39:12.037
AMY: I'm a fast walker.
00:39:14.697 --> 00:39:19.557
AMY: And again, Japan is not that far from where the Skyliner is.
00:39:19.557 --> 00:39:21.077
AMY: So I made good time.
00:39:21.077 --> 00:39:24.217
AMY: And I was back at the Riviera at 9'48.
00:39:24.217 --> 00:39:29.197
VIRGINIA: Did you do anything else once you got back to make the most of your final evening?
00:39:29.197 --> 00:39:30.557
AMY: We really didn't.
00:39:30.557 --> 00:39:32.817
AMY: We just relaxed.
00:39:32.817 --> 00:39:36.137
AMY: We again, sat outside on the balcony.
00:39:36.137 --> 00:39:39.037
AMY: We had a little glass of wine and then that was it.
00:39:39.037 --> 00:39:39.877
AMY: That was our trip.
00:39:39.877 --> 00:39:40.857
AMY: It was so quick.
00:39:41.697 --> 00:39:43.397
AMY: We had so much fun.
00:39:43.397 --> 00:39:44.757
VIRGINIA: The next day, how was your flight?
00:39:44.757 --> 00:39:46.637
VIRGINIA: Did everything go okay with that?
00:39:46.637 --> 00:39:47.897
AMY: No issues at all.
00:39:47.897 --> 00:39:50.637
AMY: We left Riviera at 9'45.
00:39:50.637 --> 00:39:53.317
AMY: We got to the airport at 10'05.
00:39:53.317 --> 00:40:03.677
AMY: Joe and I have the TSA pre-check, but Charlie is 18, so we didn't know if they would let him through.
00:40:03.677 --> 00:40:04.417
AMY: But they did.
00:40:04.417 --> 00:40:05.337
AMY: They let him through.
00:40:05.337 --> 00:40:06.157
VIRGINIA: Oh, good.
00:40:06.357 --> 00:40:06.657
VIRGINIA: Yes.
00:40:06.657 --> 00:40:08.577
AMY: I was very happy about that.
00:40:08.577 --> 00:40:10.237
AMY: We didn't have any issues.
00:40:10.237 --> 00:40:12.717
AMY: The plane took off on time.
00:40:12.717 --> 00:40:17.997
AMY: It actually was supposed to land at 3'15, and it landed at 2'45.
00:40:19.417 --> 00:40:20.937
AMY: We didn't have any issues.
00:40:21.017 --> 00:40:27.597
AMY: The only other thing I wanted to say to you was, I think people go so crazy over the dining reservations.
00:40:29.357 --> 00:40:38.677
AMY: When I was looking on my phone the day of, I could see dining reservations for Homecoming, Space 220.
00:40:38.677 --> 00:40:49.177
AMY: Definitely, things pop up, so if you are there, I would definitely try and look and see if there's something that you weren't able to book.
00:40:49.177 --> 00:40:50.277
VIRGINIA: Yeah, and I agree.
00:40:51.177 --> 00:41:12.017
VIRGINIA: If you have a specific restaurant where it is something you're like, I have to do this, and you don't happen to get it, A, you might get it once you get there, once people start canceling, and B, please don't let not getting a dining reservation make or break your trip, because there is so much more magic to enjoy about the parks.
00:41:12.017 --> 00:41:14.337
VIRGINIA: One dining reservation shouldn't kill it.
00:41:14.377 --> 00:41:21.997
AMY: I agree, and I don't feel, one, I feel like you should not make more than one sit down reservation a day.
00:41:21.997 --> 00:41:23.777
AMY: It does take up so much time.
00:41:23.777 --> 00:41:25.297
VIRGINIA: At the most, at the most.
00:41:26.117 --> 00:41:35.217
AMY: And even, I mean, I've planned so many trips, but you still end up, you know, this takes longer than you think, and this gets canceled.
00:41:35.217 --> 00:41:36.777
AMY: Things are constantly shifting.
00:41:36.777 --> 00:41:39.197
AMY: So I do think you need to be flexible.
00:41:39.197 --> 00:41:46.997
VIRGINIA: The tip I would give people, I always say don't book more than one per day, but I also say don't feel like you have to book one every single day.
00:41:46.997 --> 00:41:56.077
VIRGINIA: Like leave yourself open days where you can just, when the spirit moves you and you feel hungry, you go with what's around you and have that flexibility.
00:41:56.077 --> 00:42:07.597
VIRGINIA: Because, sure, you can cancel a couple of hours beforehand, but I don't know, there's like a pressure involved of like, this is our schedule and then having to decide, am I going to cancel it, am I not?
00:42:07.597 --> 00:42:13.117
VIRGINIA: But if you have a day that's completely open, you just do what you want to do when it comes to food for the entire day.
00:42:13.117 --> 00:42:14.637
AMY: Yeah, I agree.
00:42:14.637 --> 00:42:24.317
AMY: I have to say, I love Riviera, but I don't think it can replace Grand Floridian for us, because we have so many years of memories there.
00:42:24.317 --> 00:42:25.217
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:42:25.217 --> 00:42:34.597
AMY: But I like the small footprint, I like the little coffee shop right in the lobby, I love the Skyliner, I love Barriva.
00:42:34.597 --> 00:42:39.397
AMY: Again, I think it's just the memories from my family at Grand Floridian.
00:42:39.397 --> 00:42:48.277
VIRGINIA: Yeah, it makes a difference, even if Riviera has those amazing amenities, it's wherever you have left your heart, which for you is Grand Floridian.
00:42:49.637 --> 00:43:01.457
AMY: Which again, is so funny because I told you, when we first bought DVC, we really wanted Wilderness Lodge, but they told us that it wasn't available, that Grand Floridian was the only thing that was available.
00:43:01.777 --> 00:43:03.737
AMY: But again, we've grown to love it.
00:43:03.737 --> 00:43:08.657
VIRGINIA: Everything happens the way that it's meant to, and that was meant for you and for your family.
00:43:08.657 --> 00:43:09.577
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:43:09.577 --> 00:43:12.237
VIRGINIA: Amy, it has been so much fun talking to you.
00:43:12.237 --> 00:43:18.997
VIRGINIA: I just loved hearing all the details about your trip, and you are just a delight to talk to you.
00:43:18.997 --> 00:43:20.617
VIRGINIA: You have such a positive energy.
00:43:20.617 --> 00:43:25.757
AMY: Oh, thank you, and I enjoy talking with you so much, and I really enjoy your podcast as well.
00:43:25.757 --> 00:43:27.257
VIRGINIA: Oh, thank you.
00:43:27.257 --> 00:43:30.437
VIRGINIA: Hopefully, you will come back and see me again at some point in the future.
00:43:30.437 --> 00:43:32.157
VIRGINIA: Before we leave, when is your next trip?
00:43:32.157 --> 00:43:34.057
VIRGINIA: Do you have something on the books already?
00:43:34.057 --> 00:43:35.237
AMY: I do.
00:43:35.237 --> 00:43:44.257
AMY: So my older son and I are going to take just a quick weekend trip in January, and then my husband and I are going to go for four nights in April.
00:43:44.477 --> 00:43:47.937
AMY: So trying to make the most of the annual path as you know.
00:43:47.937 --> 00:43:48.617
VIRGINIA: Oh, yeah.
00:43:48.617 --> 00:43:49.157
VIRGINIA: Yes.
00:43:49.157 --> 00:43:49.497
VIRGINIA: Yes.
00:43:49.497 --> 00:43:51.157
VIRGINIA: You have to make the most of it.
00:43:51.157 --> 00:43:56.197
VIRGINIA: I hope that those trips both go well and have a wonderful rest of your evening.
00:43:56.197 --> 00:43:56.657
AMY: Thank you.
00:43:56.657 --> 00:43:57.117
AMY: You too.
00:43:57.117 --> 00:43:59.977
AMY: I really enjoy talking with you.
00:43:59.977 --> 00:44:05.317
VIRGINIA: Thank you again to Amy for joining me on the show and for being a loyal listener.
00:44:05.317 --> 00:44:07.357
VIRGINIA: I had a great time chatting with you.
00:44:07.357 --> 00:44:11.417
VIRGINIA: If you have a trip coming up, why don't you consider being a trip report guest?
00:44:11.797 --> 00:44:15.617
VIRGINIA: It's fun and easy and a great way to preserve your trip memories.
00:44:15.617 --> 00:44:20.057
VIRGINIA: I'm currently looking for people traveling in March 2025 and beyond.
00:44:20.057 --> 00:44:21.677
VIRGINIA: The sooner you can submit, the better.
00:44:21.677 --> 00:44:26.857
VIRGINIA: You'll find the link to submit in the show notes or by visiting the website, which is wherealongtobepodcast.com.
00:44:28.517 --> 00:44:30.877
VIRGINIA: That is all for this holiday week.
00:44:30.877 --> 00:44:42.077
VIRGINIA: Tomorrow night, when you are nestled all snug in your beds waiting for Santa, I hope that your dreams will be filled with sugar plums and that when you wake, you'll keep daydreaming about where you long to be.
