Alex is back to join Virginia for this post trip report of their February 2025 visit to Walt Disney World. This was a split stay between Old Key West Resort and The Grand Floridian. They had multiple dining reservations, including some that were new to them (Roundup Rodeo BBQ, Ravello, and Narcoosee’s), and got to all the parks. They also participated in the runDisney Princess Half-Marathon Weekend 5k, a first for the whole family!

00:00:12.194 --> 00:00:17.274
VIRGINIA: Welcome back for another episode of Where I Long To Be, A Magical Trip Report Podcast.
00:00:17.274 --> 00:00:19.454
VIRGINIA: I am your host, Virginia.
00:00:19.454 --> 00:00:22.014
VIRGINIA: Thank you so much for continuing to tune in.
00:00:22.014 --> 00:00:32.974
VIRGINIA: If you like what you hear, a rating or a review on the podcast app that you're listening on now is a great way to help the show out as it gets the podcast into other people's lists of suggested shows that they might like.
00:00:32.974 --> 00:00:35.554
VIRGINIA: I also appreciate it when you mention the show to friends.
00:00:35.554 --> 00:00:38.834
VIRGINIA: Sharing is caring, am I right?
00:00:38.834 --> 00:00:43.674
VIRGINIA: I have been promising a haul video of all the things I picked up on my two most recent trips.
00:00:43.674 --> 00:00:48.354
VIRGINIA: First, my January trip with the Disney Dames and my February trip that you'll hear about today.
00:00:48.354 --> 00:00:59.394
VIRGINIA: I've been putting it off because I've never done a haul video before and it felt strange, but I filmed it last night, so I'll get it posted as soon as I have a moment to review the footage and prep it for Instagram and TikTok.
00:00:59.394 --> 00:01:04.154
VIRGINIA: So if you haven't already seen it on my socials, then it should be there in the next day or two.
00:01:04.154 --> 00:01:07.614
VIRGINIA: I had to do it in two parts because I got a lot of stuff.
00:01:08.494 --> 00:01:17.594
VIRGINIA: I hope you liked both part one and part two of the haul video, and I'd love it if you gave me some feedback in the comments because I don't know why it was so nerve-racking, but it just was.
00:01:17.594 --> 00:01:21.254
VIRGINIA: So your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
00:01:21.254 --> 00:01:23.754
VIRGINIA: Okay, on to the heart of the episode.
00:01:23.754 --> 00:01:28.734
VIRGINIA: Fortunately, Alex's social schedule had enough space for him to join me on this one.
00:01:28.734 --> 00:01:34.014
VIRGINIA: I know you all love hearing from him because I hear it all the time, and I have a great time recording with him.
00:01:34.014 --> 00:01:38.074
VIRGINIA: So without further ado, here's my conversation with Alex.
00:01:39.374 --> 00:01:41.174
VIRGINIA: Welcome back, Alex.
00:01:41.174 --> 00:01:42.634
ALEX: Thank you for having me.
00:01:42.634 --> 00:01:47.834
VIRGINIA: I missed you when I recorded the pre-trip, so I'm happy that we get to sit down here together and do the post-trip.
00:01:47.834 --> 00:01:49.334
ALEX: Oh yeah, I forgot we missed that.
00:01:49.334 --> 00:01:51.614
VIRGINIA: Why were you not there?
00:01:51.614 --> 00:01:53.774
ALEX: Was I tired?
00:01:53.774 --> 00:01:55.434
ALEX: No, I was at a party.
00:01:56.454 --> 00:02:03.434
VIRGINIA: Yes, you had a social life, and so you went to a Valentine's Day party, I think at someone's apartment.
00:02:03.434 --> 00:02:04.694
ALEX: Yeah, at my friend's house.
00:02:04.694 --> 00:02:05.514
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:02:05.514 --> 00:02:07.374
VIRGINIA: So that was very important.
00:02:07.374 --> 00:02:08.794
VIRGINIA: So he went to that.
00:02:08.794 --> 00:02:16.594
VIRGINIA: We did not have time to record the pre-trip before that, so I had to go ahead and take care of that interview myself.
00:02:16.594 --> 00:02:21.514
VIRGINIA: So happy to have Alex back, and we're going to walk through our annual family trip.
00:02:21.514 --> 00:02:23.774
<v SPEAKER_3>Yeah.
00:02:23.774 --> 00:02:24.394
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:02:24.394 --> 00:02:30.654
VIRGINIA: So we kicked this trip off on Saturday, February the 15th, and we flew out of LaGuardia.
00:02:31.414 --> 00:02:36.654
VIRGINIA: Our flight was very early, because Alex loves an early morning flight.
00:02:36.654 --> 00:02:37.794
ALEX: I do the best.
00:02:37.794 --> 00:02:40.554
ALEX: I love early morning flights at airports.
00:02:40.554 --> 00:02:47.514
VIRGINIA: So we managed to get ourselves over to LaGuardia by about five minutes after 5 a.m.
00:02:47.514 --> 00:02:56.214
VIRGINIA: There was perhaps the longest line at the front where you drop off your luggage that I've ever seen.
00:02:56.214 --> 00:02:56.874
VIRGINIA: What about you?
00:02:56.874 --> 00:02:58.274
ALEX: Yeah, it was a very long line.
00:02:58.794 --> 00:03:13.914
ALEX: I was like, I think we'll make it, but then I was like, I started to lose hope near the end until, hold on, I really, I'm excited to talk about this, but we were in line and we were kind of just waiting there.
00:03:13.914 --> 00:03:25.294
ALEX: And the lady who was working there, she, I guess she like ran things at that area and she literally walked up to everybody and was like, okay, guys, we're gonna just let you all through.
00:03:25.294 --> 00:03:27.114
ALEX: Everybody throw your suitcases on the thing.
00:03:27.114 --> 00:03:28.854
ALEX: We're, we're, we're gonna speed this through.
00:03:29.494 --> 00:03:37.334
ALEX: And everybody like rushed in and then we all threw our luggage on to the carrier and then they sent it through.
00:03:37.334 --> 00:03:42.034
ALEX: And it was like very heroic, like very.
00:03:42.034 --> 00:03:46.594
VIRGINIA: Well, we were flying, I think it was American Airlines that we were flying.
00:03:46.594 --> 00:03:48.494
VIRGINIA: We don't normally fly American.
00:03:48.494 --> 00:03:52.914
VIRGINIA: Typically, we fly Delta, JetBlue, United.
00:03:52.974 --> 00:03:53.634
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:03:53.634 --> 00:03:55.934
VIRGINIA: So we happened to be flying American.
00:03:55.934 --> 00:03:59.394
VIRGINIA: I mean, to be fair, it was going into a holiday weekend.
00:03:59.394 --> 00:04:06.134
VIRGINIA: So there were lots of people traveling, but the line was so long and they were taking so long with each person.
00:04:06.134 --> 00:04:15.014
VIRGINIA: And we had arrived at the airport in enough time to go to the Chase Reserve Lounge to enjoy breakfast before our flight.
00:04:15.014 --> 00:04:16.954
VIRGINIA: And we got there and we started waiting.
00:04:16.954 --> 00:04:21.154
VIRGINIA: And I really thought for a second, like, we're not even going to make our flight on time.
00:04:21.154 --> 00:04:21.994
VIRGINIA: It was that bad.
00:04:22.714 --> 00:04:33.514
VIRGINIA: And then finally, people started complaining and a manager came over and spoke to this woman and said, just, you know, start putting everybody through.
00:04:33.514 --> 00:04:37.034
VIRGINIA: And it was great.
00:04:37.034 --> 00:04:46.894
VIRGINIA: It was, I'm one of those people where if somebody opens up another line and I see that it's about to happen, I'm at the ready and I'm ready to like move into the new line.
00:04:46.894 --> 00:04:52.714
VIRGINIA: So the minute she said, come over here, I just took off and then they caught up with me.
00:04:52.714 --> 00:04:59.294
VIRGINIA: And the poor fellow she was working with, he kept trying to actually check people's IDs and things.
00:04:59.294 --> 00:05:00.294
<v SPEAKER_3>Oh yeah.
00:05:00.474 --> 00:05:02.694
ALEX: And then she was just like, no, don't even check their things.
00:05:02.694 --> 00:05:03.394
<v SPEAKER_3>Just let them go.
00:05:03.394 --> 00:05:03.534
ALEX: Yeah.
00:05:03.534 --> 00:05:05.994
VIRGINIA: She was like, no, no, no, just let them go.
00:05:05.994 --> 00:05:07.594
ALEX: She was amazing.
00:05:07.594 --> 00:05:08.334
ALEX: Literally.
00:05:08.334 --> 00:05:10.474
ALEX: I was like so happy that she was there.
00:05:10.474 --> 00:05:10.814
VIRGINIA: I know.
00:05:10.814 --> 00:05:13.754
VIRGINIA: As we walked away, I was like, you're an angel.
00:05:13.754 --> 00:05:14.954
<v SPEAKER_3>It was beautiful.
00:05:14.954 --> 00:05:16.074
ALEX: I've never seen anything like it.
00:05:17.694 --> 00:05:22.674
VIRGINIA: Anyway, by 5.30, we were over into the TSA line.
00:05:22.674 --> 00:05:24.334
VIRGINIA: It didn't take that long.
00:05:24.334 --> 00:05:30.014
VIRGINIA: For once, Charles managed to get through the regular line before we finished our TSA pre-check line.
00:05:30.014 --> 00:05:31.034
ALEX: Which was surprising.
00:05:31.034 --> 00:05:34.094
VIRGINIA: It was surprising, but that's fine.
00:05:34.094 --> 00:05:36.794
VIRGINIA: He can win sometimes too.
00:05:36.794 --> 00:05:40.554
VIRGINIA: We made it through in time to head over to the Chase Reserve Lounge.
00:05:40.554 --> 00:05:42.614
VIRGINIA: I had been there before at LaGuardia.
00:05:42.614 --> 00:05:44.434
VIRGINIA: It is the best one that I've been to.
00:05:44.934 --> 00:05:45.754
VIRGINIA: It's amazing.
00:05:45.754 --> 00:05:47.474
VIRGINIA: It is so beautiful.
00:05:47.474 --> 00:05:48.894
VIRGINIA: The food is really good.
00:05:48.894 --> 00:05:50.314
VIRGINIA: The service is really good.
00:05:50.314 --> 00:05:53.594
VIRGINIA: And I was very excited for Charles and Alex to see it for the first time.
00:05:53.594 --> 00:05:56.454
VIRGINIA: So what did you think about the Chase Reserve Lounge?
00:05:56.454 --> 00:05:58.494
ALEX: Honestly, it was a very nice area.
00:05:59.174 --> 00:06:00.854
ALEX: I was impressed by everything.
00:06:00.854 --> 00:06:03.354
ALEX: It was like very cozy and nice.
00:06:03.354 --> 00:06:05.434
ALEX: And there's people there.
00:06:05.434 --> 00:06:08.474
ALEX: The food, I'd say the food was okay.
00:06:08.474 --> 00:06:09.334
ALEX: It wasn't the best.
00:06:09.334 --> 00:06:10.974
ALEX: It was kind of just like small things.
00:06:10.974 --> 00:06:12.354
ALEX: Although their pancakes were pretty good.
00:06:13.054 --> 00:06:15.354
ALEX: But, you know, I thought it was okay.
00:06:15.354 --> 00:06:18.694
VIRGINIA: The buffet is lots of little small plates of things, which is nice.
00:06:18.694 --> 00:06:21.014
VIRGINIA: So you can get like lots of little tries of things.
00:06:21.014 --> 00:06:25.974
VIRGINIA: But then you can also order things off of a QR code off of your table and get them made to order.
00:06:25.974 --> 00:06:30.614
VIRGINIA: So I had a wonderful, what was it?
00:06:30.614 --> 00:06:34.834
VIRGINIA: It was a croque-manger sandwich.
00:06:34.874 --> 00:06:37.314
VIRGINIA: And it was so good.
00:06:37.314 --> 00:06:42.314
VIRGINIA: I split it with Charles and then he was like, do you want to split another one?
00:06:42.314 --> 00:06:44.094
VIRGINIA: I was like, no, I'm good.
00:06:44.094 --> 00:06:46.474
VIRGINIA: But he ordered a second one for himself and he ate it.
00:06:46.474 --> 00:06:47.874
VIRGINIA: And it was delicious.
00:06:48.274 --> 00:06:53.034
VIRGINIA: And that's the thing there is that, everything's included, including the alcohol drinks.
00:06:53.034 --> 00:06:55.794
VIRGINIA: So once it turned six o'clock, the bar was open.
00:06:55.794 --> 00:06:58.634
VIRGINIA: And I think Charles got a Bloody Mary.
00:06:58.634 --> 00:07:00.994
ALEX: Six in the morning.
00:07:00.994 --> 00:07:04.954
VIRGINIA: I did not get any alcohol drinks, but they do have a little refrigerator.
00:07:04.954 --> 00:07:08.394
VIRGINIA: You can grab canned sodas and things like that.
00:07:08.394 --> 00:07:12.134
VIRGINIA: So I grabbed a canned sparkling water.
00:07:12.134 --> 00:07:16.534
VIRGINIA: We headed over to our flight, which actually ended up leaving about 15 minutes early.
00:07:16.534 --> 00:07:20.274
VIRGINIA: So we landed in Orlando at 9:35 a.m.
00:07:20.274 --> 00:07:24.494
VIRGINIA: We went and got our luggage and we were waiting for the lift by 10.
00:07:24.494 --> 00:07:30.734
VIRGINIA: So I thought that was pretty good timing with 25 minutes to get over to the main terminal, get our stuff and be standing there waiting for a lift.
00:07:31.474 --> 00:07:37.214
VIRGINIA: Our room was actually ready before we even left the airport, which is amazing.
00:07:37.214 --> 00:07:38.834
VIRGINIA: And I'm going to say this.
00:07:38.834 --> 00:07:42.354
VIRGINIA: I think it's because Old Key West is such a large resort.
00:07:42.354 --> 00:07:44.714
VIRGINIA: That was the first resort we were going to.
00:07:44.714 --> 00:07:50.454
VIRGINIA: And they have a lot of rooms because that normally does not happen, particularly with DVC stays.
00:07:50.454 --> 00:07:53.114
VIRGINIA: With DVC, the turnaround time is a little bit longer.
00:07:53.114 --> 00:08:00.354
VIRGINIA: So we took a lift over to Old Key West and I got the first floor room that I requested.
00:08:00.454 --> 00:08:06.714
VIRGINIA: And I did that because at Old Key West, there are very few buildings with elevators and I did not want to haul luggage upstairs.
00:08:06.714 --> 00:08:14.314
VIRGINIA: We got into our room and I'm just going to say that Old Key West, it's the original DVC resort.
00:08:14.314 --> 00:08:17.914
VIRGINIA: I don't want to stay there again unless I absolutely have to.
00:08:17.914 --> 00:08:18.754
ALEX: Yeah, it was not the best.
00:08:18.754 --> 00:08:20.994
ALEX: It was the TV was tiny.
00:08:20.994 --> 00:08:23.694
VIRGINIA: It was the TV was so tiny.
00:08:23.694 --> 00:08:32.234
VIRGINIA: It reminded me of the episode of The Office where Michael Scott is showing off his new flat screen TV and it is like the size of a tiny computer monitor.
00:08:32.234 --> 00:08:35.554
VIRGINIA: And it's kind of hilarious how small it is.
00:08:35.554 --> 00:08:40.614
ALEX: It wasn't that good of a room either because there were barely any outlets and that was really a problem at night.
00:08:40.614 --> 00:08:42.494
VIRGINIA: Oh, yes, that was a problem.
00:08:42.494 --> 00:08:43.614
VIRGINIA: I'm glad you remembered that.
00:08:43.614 --> 00:08:53.254
VIRGINIA: Yes, there were hardly any USB ports, but there were also not that many actual plugs that you could use to plug in your devices.
00:08:53.794 --> 00:09:00.294
VIRGINIA: So between the room being outdated, there not being enough outlets and I think that was just an issue.
00:09:00.294 --> 00:09:05.554
VIRGINIA: And then also we didn't really like the quick service that they have there at Old Key West.
00:09:05.554 --> 00:09:08.014
VIRGINIA: It did not have very many options.
00:09:08.014 --> 00:09:09.734
VIRGINIA: All of the seating was outside.
00:09:10.214 --> 00:09:12.974
VIRGINIA: It wasn't the greatest experience.
00:09:12.974 --> 00:09:25.994
VIRGINIA: When we first got into a room, we dropped off our stuff, we went over to the main building just to take a look and to buy our resort mugs because we like to buy a resort mug particularly on a week long trip just so that we can refill them as much as we want.
00:09:25.994 --> 00:09:33.094
VIRGINIA: We had ordered some Amazon delivery, mostly of water and some snacks for the room, chips and that sort of thing.
00:09:33.094 --> 00:09:36.154
VIRGINIA: And we had them delivered over to our room.
00:09:36.154 --> 00:09:45.734
VIRGINIA: Here is one of two things on our trip that I, maybe I just wasn't paying attention to, but I didn't realize this was going to be happening while we were there.
00:09:45.734 --> 00:09:48.954
VIRGINIA: But they were doing dock repairs right outside of Old Key West.
00:09:49.054 --> 00:09:53.754
VIRGINIA: And so the boat that goes to Disney Springs was not an option for us, which was disappointing.
00:09:53.754 --> 00:09:59.334
VIRGINIA: So after we got there and got everything into our room, we headed over to Disney Springs for lunch.
00:09:59.334 --> 00:10:02.114
VIRGINIA: Alex, you want to talk about our lunch over in Disney Springs?
00:10:02.114 --> 00:10:03.614
ALEX: Oh, my God.
00:10:03.614 --> 00:10:07.134
ALEX: This is probably my new favorite restaurant in Disney.
00:10:07.134 --> 00:10:14.934
ALEX: I'm not going to lie, because we went to Summer House on the Lake and it was incredible.
00:10:14.934 --> 00:10:17.334
ALEX: You got the Brussels sprout salad again.
00:10:18.234 --> 00:10:19.454
VIRGINIA: I had that in January.
00:10:19.454 --> 00:10:21.934
VIRGINIA: It was so good and I had a Frosay with it this time.
00:10:21.934 --> 00:10:23.074
ALEX: You were talking about that a lot.
00:10:23.074 --> 00:10:25.434
ALEX: You were like, oh, I'm so excited for this.
00:10:25.434 --> 00:10:32.654
ALEX: I got a chicken sandwich, which was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had in my life, if I'm being completely serious and honest right now.
00:10:32.654 --> 00:10:41.174
ALEX: Dad got chicken tenders and some beer, and we shared some deviled eggs, which were also amazing, but I think I made better deviled eggs.
00:10:41.174 --> 00:10:45.354
ALEX: I'm not going to lie, because my deviled eggs, it's simple, but it's really good.
00:10:45.614 --> 00:10:50.534
VIRGINIA: Alex does make a good deviled eggs, but the deviled eggs at Summer House on the Lake were excellent.
00:10:50.534 --> 00:10:55.034
VIRGINIA: We also got some Brazilian cheese puff things that dad kept wanting to order.
00:10:55.034 --> 00:10:56.694
ALEX: No, yeah, I also wanted those.
00:10:56.694 --> 00:10:57.474
VIRGINIA: Oh, did you?
00:10:57.674 --> 00:10:59.974
VIRGINIA: I sort of resisted, but then I caved.
00:10:59.974 --> 00:11:00.334
ALEX: Yeah, I wanted...
00:11:00.334 --> 00:11:01.274
VIRGINIA: And I'm glad I did.
00:11:01.274 --> 00:11:02.394
ALEX: I wanted cheese bread.
00:11:02.394 --> 00:11:05.014
ALEX: I was like, I want the cheese bread, and you were like, okay.
00:11:05.014 --> 00:11:06.514
ALEX: And we had it, and it was really good.
00:11:06.514 --> 00:11:11.014
ALEX: After eating, you recommended a really good cookie place right next to there.
00:11:11.014 --> 00:11:13.474
ALEX: It was literally built into the area that we were eating at.
00:11:13.474 --> 00:11:13.734
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:11:13.734 --> 00:11:15.494
VIRGINIA: It's the Summer House on the Lake Restaurant.
00:11:15.494 --> 00:11:17.154
VIRGINIA: So it's still part of the same restaurant.
00:11:17.154 --> 00:11:18.534
VIRGINIA: It's just they have a cookie bar.
00:11:18.534 --> 00:11:18.874
ALEX: Yes.
00:11:18.874 --> 00:11:23.414
ALEX: And those cookies were incredible, except they were really filling.
00:11:23.414 --> 00:11:26.394
VIRGINIA: They lasted us the whole week because we...
00:11:26.394 --> 00:11:30.254
VIRGINIA: I think we got like six cookies and they're kind of big.
00:11:30.254 --> 00:11:32.494
VIRGINIA: What was your favorite of the flavors you had?
00:11:32.494 --> 00:11:34.174
ALEX: My favorite?
00:11:34.174 --> 00:11:35.054
ALEX: Not really sure.
00:11:35.054 --> 00:11:36.554
ALEX: There was quite a few of them.
00:11:36.554 --> 00:11:39.314
ALEX: I think I liked just the regular the most.
00:11:39.494 --> 00:11:42.414
ALEX: Just the plain chocolate chip.
00:11:42.414 --> 00:11:43.934
VIRGINIA: Yeah, I still love the banana.
00:11:43.934 --> 00:11:44.994
VIRGINIA: It's so good.
00:11:44.994 --> 00:11:46.914
ALEX: Kept talking about it all trip.
00:11:46.914 --> 00:11:47.434
VIRGINIA: I did.
00:11:47.654 --> 00:11:53.474
VIRGINIA: I got a couple of banana in the bunch that we got so that I could have a second one later in the week.
00:11:53.474 --> 00:12:01.474
VIRGINIA: After getting our cookies, we took a bus over to the Beach Club specifically to be able to enter Epcot at the International Gateway.
00:12:01.474 --> 00:12:03.254
VIRGINIA: And of course, what did we do?
00:12:03.254 --> 00:12:05.834
VIRGINIA: We headed right to Mexico to go to La Cava.
00:12:06.374 --> 00:12:07.654
<v SPEAKER_3>Yes.
00:12:07.654 --> 00:12:12.654
VIRGINIA: So Charles is really into their super nice tequila shots.
00:12:12.654 --> 00:12:22.094
VIRGINIA: I'm not a tequila shot person, but he says that the tequila shots are like the Everlasting Gobstopper in that you taste a million flavors while you're doing them.
00:12:22.094 --> 00:12:28.994
VIRGINIA: And so he got one shot and I got the avocado margarita and Alex got a mocktail.
00:12:28.994 --> 00:12:33.074
ALEX: I did because they didn't have a pina colada and they make amazing pina coladas.
00:12:33.074 --> 00:12:34.914
ALEX: Our waiter was very nice.
00:12:35.354 --> 00:12:36.534
ALEX: He was funny.
00:12:36.534 --> 00:12:45.294
ALEX: Like he recommended one of the shots to dad and he said it tasted like the gum from Willy Wonka.
00:12:45.694 --> 00:12:46.794
VIRGINIA: That's what I just said.
00:12:47.134 --> 00:12:48.654
ALEX: No, you said the Gobstopper.
00:12:48.654 --> 00:12:50.074
VIRGINIA: What was the gum then?
00:12:50.074 --> 00:12:50.554
ALEX: The gum?
00:12:51.494 --> 00:12:57.234
ALEX: That was like, oh, it tastes like breakfast, now lunch and oh, dinner, blueberry pie.
00:12:57.234 --> 00:12:57.834
VIRGINIA: Oh, yes.
00:12:57.834 --> 00:12:59.114
VIRGINIA: And violet, you're turning violet.
00:12:59.114 --> 00:12:59.954
VIRGINIA: Violet.
00:12:59.954 --> 00:13:00.294
ALEX: Yeah.
00:13:00.614 --> 00:13:02.414
ALEX: He described it like that.
00:13:02.474 --> 00:13:03.034
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:13:03.034 --> 00:13:05.434
VIRGINIA: Avocado margarita, always a win for me.
00:13:05.434 --> 00:13:10.954
VIRGINIA: And Alex enjoyed his mocktail, even though they didn't have his typical piña colada treat.
00:13:10.954 --> 00:13:13.294
ALEX: It made me a little disappointed, but you know.
00:13:13.294 --> 00:13:18.434
VIRGINIA: Anyway, we got over it and we did share guacamole because we always liked to do that.
00:13:18.434 --> 00:13:19.154
VIRGINIA: It was very good.
00:13:19.154 --> 00:13:27.414
VIRGINIA: So after that, because we just had, we were eating like little snacky things, we headed over to Germany to start some festival of the arts eating.
00:13:27.414 --> 00:13:31.514
VIRGINIA: We got the red wine braised beef short rib that I had had in January because it was so good.
00:13:31.714 --> 00:13:34.474
VIRGINIA: I was like, you guys got to try this.
00:13:34.474 --> 00:13:38.254
VIRGINIA: Actually, I think that's when Alex split off from us.
00:13:38.254 --> 00:13:41.694
VIRGINIA: So it was just me and Charles having the short rib.
00:13:41.694 --> 00:13:45.994
VIRGINIA: Then Charles also got that pork and white bean cassoulet thing.
00:13:45.994 --> 00:13:48.974
VIRGINIA: Alex, what did you do while we were eating in Germany?
00:13:48.974 --> 00:14:02.414
ALEX: I went to Japan for, and it's a little, don't, I may be 14, but I was looking for Pokemon cards because I like to gamble my money away for a good card.
00:14:02.414 --> 00:14:11.354
ALEX: Because who knows, maybe I'll find something good, which is why I was very excited to go get some Pokemon cards until I saw full grown adults buying the cards before me.
00:14:11.354 --> 00:14:16.554
ALEX: Like these people were like in their 30s, and I was like, what?
00:14:16.554 --> 00:14:20.834
ALEX: Like, I would have been fine if I didn't get any, as long as a kid got some cards at least.
00:14:21.394 --> 00:14:22.474
ALEX: Like, that's crazy.
00:14:22.474 --> 00:14:24.334
ALEX: Just let the kids have their moment.
00:14:24.334 --> 00:14:27.954
VIRGINIA: Yeah, apparently it's very competitive with Pokemon cards right now.
00:14:27.954 --> 00:14:32.474
VIRGINIA: And so he specifically set off on that mission and was disappointed.
00:14:32.474 --> 00:14:34.494
VIRGINIA: But you did get a sushi donut.
00:14:34.494 --> 00:14:35.574
ALEX: I did, and it was really good.
00:14:35.574 --> 00:14:37.594
ALEX: Yeah, I sat with a dad in Japan.
00:14:37.594 --> 00:14:39.274
ALEX: We ate sushi donuts.
00:14:39.274 --> 00:14:45.194
VIRGINIA: After that, we were going to ride Space of Earth, but by the time we walked up there, the wait time got up to 20 minutes.
00:14:45.194 --> 00:14:47.174
VIRGINIA: So we decided not to.
00:14:47.234 --> 00:14:51.994
VIRGINIA: We had only gotten multi-pass one day a piece for each of the parks.
00:14:51.994 --> 00:14:55.394
VIRGINIA: So obviously, on our arrival day, it wasn't worth it to get it for that day.
00:14:55.394 --> 00:14:57.634
VIRGINIA: So we were just looking for low wait time.
00:14:57.634 --> 00:15:06.574
VIRGINIA: So we skipped Spaceship Earth and instead went to Club Cool and did all the taste testing that we could take.
00:15:06.574 --> 00:15:08.494
ALEX: Took some shots of Beverly.
00:15:08.494 --> 00:15:09.254
VIRGINIA: Yes.
00:15:09.254 --> 00:15:13.454
VIRGINIA: Alex specifically decided he was going to take some shots of Beverly this time.
00:15:13.454 --> 00:15:14.474
VIRGINIA: He hasn't in a while.
00:15:14.694 --> 00:15:17.174
VIRGINIA: And he said it wasn't actually that bad.
00:15:17.174 --> 00:15:17.674
ALEX: No, no, no.
00:15:17.674 --> 00:15:27.354
ALEX: I take shots and then I plug my nose so I lose some of the taste because plugging my nose makes my taste buds in my mouth not work as well.
00:15:27.354 --> 00:15:27.554
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:15:27.554 --> 00:15:29.914
VIRGINIA: I think you've given that tip on the podcast before.
00:15:29.914 --> 00:15:30.554
ALEX: Yeah.
00:15:30.894 --> 00:15:35.874
ALEX: I saw it somewhere on TikTok or something and I was like, okay, well, doing that next time.
00:15:37.074 --> 00:15:37.574
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:15:37.574 --> 00:15:45.514
VIRGINIA: So after Club Cool, it was time for our Lightning Lane single pass to ride Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time in this trip.
00:15:45.514 --> 00:15:46.514
VIRGINIA: It's our favorite.
00:15:46.514 --> 00:15:49.294
VIRGINIA: And the first song we got was?
00:15:49.294 --> 00:15:51.654
ALEX: Conga.
00:15:51.654 --> 00:15:54.494
VIRGINIA: Tell me how you really feel about it.
00:15:54.494 --> 00:15:55.634
ALEX: We get it.
00:15:55.634 --> 00:15:56.894
ALEX: The basic songs, mom.
00:15:56.894 --> 00:15:57.934
ALEX: It's basic songs.
00:15:57.934 --> 00:16:02.134
ALEX: We get Conga and then we get, what's the other song?
00:16:02.134 --> 00:16:03.314
ALEX: What's the other song?
00:16:03.314 --> 00:16:04.334
ALEX: The one that we always get.
00:16:04.634 --> 00:16:05.114
VIRGINIA: I don't know.
00:16:05.114 --> 00:16:06.594
VIRGINIA: I get a good mix of the songs.
00:16:06.594 --> 00:16:09.554
VIRGINIA: I don't feel like I ever get the same one over and over again.
00:16:09.554 --> 00:16:16.914
ALEX: There's like one of the song that we get over and over again, but it doesn't compare to everybody wants to know the world.
00:16:16.914 --> 00:16:17.454
VIRGINIA: That's true.
00:16:17.454 --> 00:16:18.674
VIRGINIA: But Conga, whatever.
00:16:18.674 --> 00:16:19.614
VIRGINIA: It was fine.
00:16:19.614 --> 00:16:22.714
VIRGINIA: Then we hopped on the bus back to Old Key West.
00:16:22.714 --> 00:16:25.534
VIRGINIA: It was about 8.45 by that point in the evening.
00:16:25.534 --> 00:16:26.714
VIRGINIA: We got back to our resort.
00:16:26.714 --> 00:16:29.714
VIRGINIA: We took some showers and we relaxed a little bit.
00:16:29.714 --> 00:16:38.014
VIRGINIA: So Sunday, February 16th, we started off our day with breakfast at Olivia's, which is the sit down restaurant there at Old Key West.
00:16:38.834 --> 00:16:41.454
ALEX: Yeah, and we all got certain things.
00:16:41.454 --> 00:16:50.034
ALEX: Like I got pancakes and dad got some kind of eggs, I think, maybe eggs and sausages.
00:16:50.034 --> 00:16:51.214
VIRGINIA: What did I have?
00:16:51.214 --> 00:16:52.014
VIRGINIA: It was so good.
00:16:52.014 --> 00:16:56.734
ALEX: I don't remember, but all I know is that those pancakes were amazing.
00:16:56.734 --> 00:17:00.654
ALEX: Like I wasn't expecting them to be as good as they were, but they were incredible.
00:17:00.654 --> 00:17:03.514
VIRGINIA: Oh, I had something with chicken.
00:17:03.514 --> 00:17:06.254
VIRGINIA: Yeah, it was like a chicken and waffle type situation, I think.
00:17:07.154 --> 00:17:08.534
VIRGINIA: The chicken was amazing.
00:17:08.534 --> 00:17:10.594
VIRGINIA: It was so good.
00:17:10.594 --> 00:17:14.974
VIRGINIA: So to me, Olivia's is the highlight of Old Key West.
00:17:14.974 --> 00:17:16.274
ALEX: Yeah, it was really good.
00:17:16.274 --> 00:17:17.434
ALEX: I enjoyed that restaurant.
00:17:17.434 --> 00:17:19.034
ALEX: I think that was the best part about Old Key West.
00:17:19.854 --> 00:17:21.574
ALEX: Not gonna lie.
00:17:21.574 --> 00:17:22.354
ALEX: Yeah.
00:17:22.354 --> 00:17:28.654
ALEX: Anyways, after that, we took a lift to Hollywood Studios and we accidentally checked into Rock and Roller Coaster too early.
00:17:28.654 --> 00:17:31.514
ALEX: So we went to Joffre's at Tower of Terror.
00:17:31.514 --> 00:17:33.914
ALEX: Then we went on Rock and Roller Coaster.
00:17:33.914 --> 00:17:34.894
ALEX: Fantastic as always.
00:17:35.234 --> 00:17:36.214
ALEX: Then we hung out.
00:17:36.214 --> 00:17:41.414
VIRGINIA: You got a T-shirt at Rock and Roller Coaster because it's probably the last time you're riding it as Aerosmith.
00:17:41.414 --> 00:17:41.934
ALEX: Yeah.
00:17:42.614 --> 00:17:43.334
ALEX: One of the last times.
00:17:43.334 --> 00:17:44.014
ALEX: So I was really sad.
00:17:44.014 --> 00:17:45.874
ALEX: So I was like, I got to get a shirt for this.
00:17:45.874 --> 00:17:54.874
ALEX: Then after we got my shirt and stuff, we went to go hang out on a bench and both of you went out to get cocktails.
00:17:54.874 --> 00:17:58.714
ALEX: And I got a free slushie because my magic band was working.
00:17:58.714 --> 00:18:01.174
ALEX: And the lady there, she was very nice about it.
00:18:01.174 --> 00:18:02.634
ALEX: She was like, oh, just try again.
00:18:02.634 --> 00:18:03.714
ALEX: We'll see what goes on.
00:18:04.614 --> 00:18:08.034
ALEX: And then it didn't work and she was like, you know what, it's on Mickey.
00:18:08.034 --> 00:18:11.694
ALEX: I was like, oh, that was some Disney magic right there.
00:18:11.694 --> 00:18:13.234
VIRGINIA: Yeah, it was really nice.
00:18:13.234 --> 00:18:19.414
VIRGINIA: I always have his magic band set up so that he can charge things to the room if he needs to.
00:18:19.414 --> 00:18:22.574
VIRGINIA: And he's very good about knowing what to do.
00:18:22.574 --> 00:18:24.274
VIRGINIA: And usually we'll ask beforehand.
00:18:24.274 --> 00:18:28.794
VIRGINIA: But if he needed to get a beverage or something, he knows that he can scan his band.
00:18:28.794 --> 00:18:29.934
VIRGINIA: And for some reason it didn't work.
00:18:30.014 --> 00:18:33.834
VIRGINIA: But then later on another day, it just started working again.
00:18:33.834 --> 00:18:35.394
VIRGINIA: So it was weird.
00:18:35.394 --> 00:18:36.054
ALEX: Yeah.
00:18:36.054 --> 00:18:41.174
ALEX: Then we went on Tower of Terror, which was amazing, of course.
00:18:41.174 --> 00:18:46.094
ALEX: And then dad went back to the hotel for a nap.
00:18:46.094 --> 00:18:47.574
ALEX: Then we went to Galaxy's Edge.
00:18:47.574 --> 00:18:51.954
ALEX: We had lunch at Donking Bay 7 and I had a salad.
00:18:51.954 --> 00:18:53.674
ALEX: Well, no, sorry, you had a salad.
00:18:53.674 --> 00:18:57.714
ALEX: And I had a kid's tipgip, which was sort of like chicken and mac and cheese.
00:18:57.714 --> 00:18:58.454
ALEX: It was really good.
00:18:58.454 --> 00:18:58.994
ALEX: And yeah.
00:18:59.294 --> 00:19:01.034
VIRGINIA: And it's fun to say, tipgip.
00:19:01.034 --> 00:19:01.554
VIRGINIA: Tipgip.
00:19:01.554 --> 00:19:02.314
ALEX: Yep.
00:19:02.314 --> 00:19:08.174
ALEX: And yeah, then we went to the droid store, to the droids depot, because why not?
00:19:08.174 --> 00:19:11.554
ALEX: And it's really, I really want to make a droid there.
00:19:11.554 --> 00:19:12.794
VIRGINIA: We didn't buy anything this day.
00:19:12.794 --> 00:19:13.654
VIRGINIA: We just looked.
00:19:13.654 --> 00:19:14.374
ALEX: Yeah, just looked.
00:19:14.374 --> 00:19:15.674
ALEX: But it was still really cool.
00:19:15.674 --> 00:19:18.854
ALEX: Then after that, we went on star tours, which was really fun.
00:19:18.854 --> 00:19:24.674
ALEX: We were going to try some like thing on how to get the secret spy, and it didn't work.
00:19:24.674 --> 00:19:32.194
VIRGINIA: Listen, I saw on TikTok that if you want to be the rebel spy, you need to get into your seat kind of quickly.
00:19:32.194 --> 00:19:33.614
VIRGINIA: Don't put your glasses on.
00:19:33.614 --> 00:19:35.214
VIRGINIA: Look forward.
00:19:35.214 --> 00:19:36.674
VIRGINIA: Maybe make a weird face.
00:19:36.674 --> 00:19:39.674
ALEX: And just like just be noticeable.
00:19:39.674 --> 00:19:48.614
VIRGINIA: So I got my stuff under there, and then I sat there and just kind of stared weirdly into the middle distance, and I still didn't get it.
00:19:48.614 --> 00:19:49.854
VIRGINIA: I just looked weird.
00:19:49.854 --> 00:19:55.354
ALEX: Yeah, some other kid in like far back got it, which made me a little annoyed, but still.
00:19:55.354 --> 00:19:57.534
VIRGINIA: Have you been rebel spy before?
00:19:58.414 --> 00:20:05.214
ALEX: Once, and I didn't even realize that I was rebel spy until after I processed it after we were done with the ride.
00:20:05.214 --> 00:20:07.234
VIRGINIA: Yeah, I've never been rebel spy before.
00:20:07.234 --> 00:20:08.634
VIRGINIA: So one day, one day.
00:20:08.634 --> 00:20:10.554
ALEX: I was once, and I was like, wait.
00:20:10.554 --> 00:20:13.014
ALEX: Then we left the ride, and I was like, wait a minute.
00:20:13.014 --> 00:20:14.954
<v SPEAKER_3>I was the spy?
00:20:14.954 --> 00:20:15.834
<v SPEAKER_3>Whoa.
00:20:16.194 --> 00:20:18.074
ALEX: It was kind of that.
00:20:18.074 --> 00:20:19.114
ALEX: Yeah.
00:20:19.114 --> 00:20:24.994
ALEX: Anyways, after that, we went to Ogas, and I had an Ogas obsession and a carbon freeze, and both were amazing.
00:20:25.314 --> 00:20:28.054
ALEX: I mean, Ogas obsession is just incredible.
00:20:28.054 --> 00:20:29.354
<v SPEAKER_3>I love it so much.
00:20:29.354 --> 00:20:32.014
ALEX: Then you had a?
00:20:32.014 --> 00:20:36.234
VIRGINIA: I think it was called a Nassilian and Bubbles with Brub Berry Essence.
00:20:36.234 --> 00:20:37.774
ALEX: Yeah, whatever that means.
00:20:37.774 --> 00:20:38.374
VIRGINIA: It was new.
00:20:38.834 --> 00:20:39.574
VIRGINIA: Well, new to me.
00:20:39.574 --> 00:20:44.994
VIRGINIA: I had not ordered that before, but I really enjoyed it, and I will definitely be getting it again.
00:20:44.994 --> 00:20:46.334
ALEX: Yeah.
00:20:46.334 --> 00:21:01.674
ALEX: Then we sat around and relaxed in Galaxy's Edge, and because it started raining, and Dad rejoined us for Smuggler's Run, the moment I saw a 7-year-old standing in the pilot section, I was like, oh, we're done.
00:21:01.674 --> 00:21:02.774
ALEX: We are not getting this.
00:21:03.434 --> 00:21:05.334
ALEX: We're done for.
00:21:05.334 --> 00:21:06.714
ALEX: I think we all knew that.
00:21:06.714 --> 00:21:08.174
ALEX: I looked at you.
00:21:08.174 --> 00:21:12.594
ALEX: We looked at each other and we were like, oh, God, no.
00:21:12.594 --> 00:21:13.154
ALEX: No.
00:21:13.154 --> 00:21:15.374
ALEX: Why are you doing that?
00:21:15.374 --> 00:21:26.334
VIRGINIA: I mean, I don't care about being pilot at all, but I knew the minute I saw kids that were very young, positioned to be pilots, this is going to be a very bumpy ride.
00:21:26.334 --> 00:21:26.594
ALEX: Yeah.
00:21:26.594 --> 00:21:29.614
ALEX: And we're not going to successfully complete the mission.
00:21:29.614 --> 00:21:36.914
ALEX: Like I would have if I had a duo of myself, if I like a clone of myself, I think personally, I think we'd do really good.
00:21:36.914 --> 00:21:38.014
VIRGINIA: It would be a clone war.
00:21:38.014 --> 00:21:38.894
ALEX: Yeah.
00:21:38.894 --> 00:21:40.194
ALEX: Oh, okay.
00:21:40.194 --> 00:21:41.294
ALEX: That was good.
00:21:41.294 --> 00:21:42.934
ALEX: You know, you know your stuff.
00:21:42.934 --> 00:21:44.694
VIRGINIA: You were a gunner, right?
00:21:44.694 --> 00:21:45.654
ALEX: Yes, I was a gunner.
00:21:45.654 --> 00:21:46.994
ALEX: Literally, I just held down the button.
00:21:46.994 --> 00:21:48.634
ALEX: There was nothing complicated about it.
00:21:48.634 --> 00:21:49.354
ALEX: So it was boring.
00:21:50.054 --> 00:21:54.374
ALEX: Literally, I was leaning on my hand and my elbow was on the button.
00:21:54.374 --> 00:21:56.874
ALEX: So I was literally just like, it's there.
00:21:56.874 --> 00:21:58.634
VIRGINIA: Dad and I were engineers.
00:21:58.634 --> 00:21:59.354
ALEX: Yeah.
00:21:59.954 --> 00:22:01.414
<v SPEAKER_3>Best part of the ride, yeah.
00:22:01.414 --> 00:22:04.414
ALEX: No.
00:22:04.414 --> 00:22:05.714
ALEX: Gunner is worse than engineer.
00:22:05.714 --> 00:22:10.914
ALEX: But I mean, gunner, at least you get to do something, but engineers, you just sit there.
00:22:10.914 --> 00:22:13.194
ALEX: But gunner is just, there's nothing different.
00:22:13.374 --> 00:22:16.514
VIRGINIA: Engineer, you have to wait for the button to light up and then you push it.
00:22:16.514 --> 00:22:16.874
ALEX: Yeah.
00:22:16.874 --> 00:22:17.914
ALEX: At least you can press buttons.
00:22:18.354 --> 00:22:20.354
ALEX: I press one button and I'm done.
00:22:20.354 --> 00:22:22.394
VIRGINIA: And I was on top of it, I will tell you.
00:22:22.394 --> 00:22:25.094
VIRGINIA: But at one point, dad didn't think I was on top of it.
00:22:25.094 --> 00:22:25.634
ALEX: Oh no.
00:22:25.634 --> 00:22:29.354
VIRGINIA: He was like, you got to push the button and he was all into it for some reason.
00:22:29.354 --> 00:22:30.274
VIRGINIA: It was really funny.
00:22:30.274 --> 00:22:33.754
VIRGINIA: And I was like, I am, when it lights up.
00:22:33.754 --> 00:22:34.474
ALEX: Yeah.
00:22:34.474 --> 00:22:42.314
ALEX: But we exited that ride and we went for the first time to Roundup Rodeo BBQ, which was an all-you-can-eat barbecue.
00:22:42.354 --> 00:22:43.934
ALEX: And it was fantastic.
00:22:43.934 --> 00:22:46.034
ALEX: Personally, I thought it was fantastic.
00:22:46.034 --> 00:22:48.214
VIRGINIA: I thought it was, it was good.
00:22:48.214 --> 00:22:52.374
VIRGINIA: I thought, I think it was like the cornbread was good.
00:22:52.374 --> 00:22:54.914
ALEX: Some of the stuff was a little bland, if I'm being honest.
00:22:54.914 --> 00:22:57.994
ALEX: But when I put the barbecue sauce on it, it was very good.
00:22:57.994 --> 00:22:59.834
VIRGINIA: I thought it was a lot bland.
00:22:59.834 --> 00:23:07.854
VIRGINIA: And that's because I can be a little bit of a barbecue snob because I'm originally from North Carolina, which is a fantastic place to eat barbecue.
00:23:07.854 --> 00:23:08.494
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:23:08.494 --> 00:23:09.534
VIRGINIA: But it was fun.
00:23:09.534 --> 00:23:10.274
VIRGINIA: It was cute.
00:23:10.554 --> 00:23:12.334
VIRGINIA: Our server was nice.
00:23:12.334 --> 00:23:12.674
ALEX: Yeah.
00:23:12.674 --> 00:23:13.214
VIRGINIA: It was great.
00:23:13.214 --> 00:23:16.354
VIRGINIA: I had a great time, but I don't need to go back anytime soon.
00:23:16.354 --> 00:23:16.694
ALEX: Yeah.
00:23:16.694 --> 00:23:23.474
ALEX: Some ladies next to us as we sat down, they looked at us and they were like, you guys, if you want, you can have the rest of our food.
00:23:23.474 --> 00:23:25.014
ALEX: We're not going to be able to finish all this.
00:23:25.014 --> 00:23:26.414
ALEX: And I was like, what?
00:23:26.814 --> 00:23:28.814
ALEX: We all kind of looked at each other.
00:23:28.914 --> 00:23:30.134
ALEX: What do you mean?
00:23:30.134 --> 00:23:35.674
VIRGINIA: I think they were trying to be funny, but it came off as a little strange.
00:23:35.674 --> 00:23:36.394
ALEX: Yeah.
00:23:36.394 --> 00:23:37.294
ALEX: They seemed serious.
00:23:37.294 --> 00:23:37.654
ALEX: I don't know.
00:23:38.654 --> 00:23:44.794
ALEX: Anyways, after that, we went over to Toy Story Mania, which I had the goal to beat dad.
00:23:44.794 --> 00:23:50.494
ALEX: So I put you with dad because I thought maybe you could help sabotage him and shoot all the things before he could.
00:23:50.494 --> 00:23:54.294
ALEX: He still won somehow, which really made me annoyed.
00:23:54.294 --> 00:23:56.234
<v SPEAKER_3>I was like, again?
00:23:56.234 --> 00:23:59.834
ALEX: And yeah, then we went back to Old Key West for bed.
00:23:59.834 --> 00:24:01.574
ALEX: And yeah.
00:24:01.574 --> 00:24:05.154
VIRGINIA: So the next day was Monday, February the 17th.
00:24:05.194 --> 00:24:07.654
VIRGINIA: In the morning, we slept in till nine.
00:24:07.654 --> 00:24:15.214
VIRGINIA: And then dad and I went and got breakfast at the quick service and brought it back for Alex because he wanted to sleep a little bit longer.
00:24:15.214 --> 00:24:19.854
VIRGINIA: So we sat outside at their picnic tables, eight hours, brought his back for him.
00:24:19.854 --> 00:24:26.194
VIRGINIA: And then it was time to pack up, to send our things over to Bell Services because it was time for our resort change.
00:24:26.194 --> 00:24:27.274
VIRGINIA: Thank goodness.
00:24:27.274 --> 00:24:28.514
VIRGINIA: We were ready to move on.
00:24:28.514 --> 00:24:29.074
ALEX: I was done.
00:24:29.074 --> 00:24:31.034
ALEX: I literally had to...
00:24:31.034 --> 00:24:38.554
ALEX: I have one of those charging tables where you can put your phone on a magnet and you're watching a magnet and stuff and it charges for you.
00:24:38.554 --> 00:24:45.794
ALEX: Because of the outlet problem, I literally had that thing on top of my bed so I could reach my phone because, you know.
00:24:45.794 --> 00:24:47.054
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:24:47.054 --> 00:24:53.014
VIRGINIA: We rode over to the main building and from there caught a lift over to the Vineland Outlets.
00:24:53.014 --> 00:24:57.014
VIRGINIA: And I did character warehouse and the guys chilled.
00:24:57.074 --> 00:25:02.154
VIRGINIA: And I ended up buying a Quirksicle water bottle and an Epcot shirt for Alex.
00:25:02.154 --> 00:25:03.474
VIRGINIA: And that's really all I got.
00:25:03.474 --> 00:25:06.194
VIRGINIA: I just filmed a haul video tonight.
00:25:06.194 --> 00:25:11.754
VIRGINIA: So that may or may not be up by now, by the time you're listening to this, if you want to take a look.
00:25:11.754 --> 00:25:12.874
ALEX: Yeah.
00:25:12.874 --> 00:25:16.274
ALEX: I saw you having your metal and stuff lined up on the table.
00:25:16.274 --> 00:25:16.494
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:25:16.494 --> 00:25:18.194
VIRGINIA: I had to, I've never done a haul before.
00:25:18.194 --> 00:25:20.694
VIRGINIA: I felt so awkward about it, but I promised that I would do it.
00:25:20.694 --> 00:25:21.994
VIRGINIA: So I did.
00:25:21.994 --> 00:25:24.214
VIRGINIA: So I got everything lined up on the table in order.
00:25:24.214 --> 00:25:26.674
VIRGINIA: I wrote all the prices out and I did it.
00:25:26.754 --> 00:25:28.094
VIRGINIA: I'm so proud of myself.
00:25:28.094 --> 00:25:28.814
ALEX: Good job.
00:25:28.814 --> 00:25:29.994
VIRGINIA: I hope everybody likes it.
00:25:29.994 --> 00:25:31.414
VIRGINIA: So go watch it if you haven't seen it.
00:25:31.414 --> 00:25:32.554
ALEX: Yeah, definitely.
00:25:32.554 --> 00:25:39.494
VIRGINIA: After that, we took a lift over to the Grand Floridian and we had lunch at Gasparilla Grill, which is the quick service there.
00:25:39.494 --> 00:25:44.754
VIRGINIA: I had a Greek salad with chicken and dad had just a regular salad with chicken.
00:25:44.754 --> 00:25:45.734
VIRGINIA: The salads were very good.
00:25:45.734 --> 00:25:48.254
VIRGINIA: They will mix them up right there in front of you.
00:25:48.254 --> 00:25:48.714
ALEX: Yeah.
00:25:48.714 --> 00:26:01.534
ALEX: I had a turkey sandwich, which I kept getting over and over again because it was probably the only good thing on the menu that I could have that I really wanted because I didn't want to get too fat on the trip.
00:26:01.534 --> 00:26:06.454
VIRGINIA: But you didn't see other menu items that you were excited about in that particular quick service?
00:26:06.454 --> 00:26:07.674
ALEX: Oh, I saw excited things.
00:26:07.674 --> 00:26:10.274
ALEX: I just didn't feel like I needed them that much.
00:26:10.274 --> 00:26:11.414
VIRGINIA: Good for you.
00:26:11.414 --> 00:26:12.154
<v SPEAKER_3>Thank you.
00:26:12.154 --> 00:26:13.274
<v SPEAKER_3>I've been working on myself.
00:26:13.274 --> 00:26:13.974
VIRGINIA: I'm so proud.
00:26:14.214 --> 00:26:14.854
VIRGINIA: You have been?
00:26:14.854 --> 00:26:15.314
<v SPEAKER_3>No.
00:26:15.314 --> 00:26:23.614
VIRGINIA: Because I'm going to say that I've seen him multiple times get a spoonful of Nutella because I bought...
00:26:23.614 --> 00:26:24.614
VIRGINIA: Why did I buy the Nutella?
00:26:25.014 --> 00:26:31.334
VIRGINIA: Oh, we wanted to have a hot chocolate night here and I said, wouldn't it be nice if we had Nutella for our hot chocolate?
00:26:31.334 --> 00:26:33.374
VIRGINIA: And I bought the big container of it.
00:26:33.374 --> 00:26:35.414
ALEX: My eyes lit up when you grabbed that container, Mom.
00:26:35.414 --> 00:26:36.254
VIRGINIA: That was a mistake.
00:26:36.254 --> 00:26:38.214
VIRGINIA: I should not have gotten that size container.
00:26:39.634 --> 00:26:40.294
ALEX: I was.
00:26:40.294 --> 00:26:45.914
ALEX: I didn't take any spoonfuls today, but I was taking like two spoonfuls of Nutella a day.
00:26:45.914 --> 00:26:47.254
ALEX: Worth it.
00:26:47.254 --> 00:26:48.874
ALEX: Mind you, worth it.
00:26:48.874 --> 00:26:49.934
ALEX: It was amazing.
00:26:49.934 --> 00:26:51.154
ALEX: I love Nutella.
00:26:51.534 --> 00:26:52.754
ALEX: I have an obsession with them.
00:26:54.654 --> 00:27:01.714
VIRGINIA: Anyway, from there, Alex and I wanted to go into Magic Kingdom, but Charles was tired.
00:27:01.714 --> 00:27:07.994
VIRGINIA: We did not have a room yet at Grand Floridian, so he took a nap in the lobby out where the piano is.
00:27:08.814 --> 00:27:10.294
VIRGINIA: He didn't lay down on the couch, people.
00:27:10.294 --> 00:27:12.994
VIRGINIA: Don't get anything twisted.
00:27:12.994 --> 00:27:18.114
VIRGINIA: He sat, leaned back and closed his eyes and took a little nap-a-roo.
00:27:18.114 --> 00:27:19.934
VIRGINIA: Alex and I headed over to Magic Kingdom.
00:27:19.934 --> 00:27:27.634
VIRGINIA: We did not do very much in the park this day, but we did go directly to the customizable popcorn and we each got...
00:27:27.634 --> 00:27:31.834
ALEX: Some strawberry popcorn that you recommended to me and it was amazing.
00:27:31.834 --> 00:27:32.494
VIRGINIA: Yes.
00:27:32.494 --> 00:27:37.134
VIRGINIA: So my friend Jeanette had recommended it to us on our Disney Dames trip.
00:27:37.134 --> 00:27:41.454
VIRGINIA: We all tasted that and we loved it and so I was talking it up to them.
00:27:41.454 --> 00:27:48.194
VIRGINIA: So he got one, I got my own and we each had our container for the whole week and we were snacking on it when we wanted some.
00:27:48.574 --> 00:27:49.954
ALEX: Yes.
00:27:49.954 --> 00:27:56.154
ALEX: From there we went on Curacao Progress and dad came over to meet us and he also got a regular popcorn.
00:27:56.154 --> 00:28:04.254
ALEX: Then we walked back to Grand Floridian while I did the monorail for a race and you guys won.
00:28:04.254 --> 00:28:04.994
ALEX: Good for you.
00:28:04.994 --> 00:28:09.274
VIRGINIA: And I knew we would because there's multiple stops on the monorail.
00:28:09.274 --> 00:28:10.294
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:28:10.294 --> 00:28:18.434
VIRGINIA: It's about a 15 minute, maybe 20 minute walk from Magic Kingdom over to the Grand Floridian on that path.
00:28:18.434 --> 00:28:27.974
VIRGINIA: And I knew when he hopped on the monorail, he was going to be stopping at the Contemporary and the Ticket and Transportation Center and the Polynesian.
00:28:27.974 --> 00:28:30.854
ALEX: Well, at least it's not the New York subways.
00:28:30.854 --> 00:28:31.434
VIRGINIA: That's true.
00:28:31.434 --> 00:28:32.914
VIRGINIA: It's much cleaner.
00:28:32.914 --> 00:28:33.694
ALEX: Much cleaner.
00:28:33.694 --> 00:28:35.754
ALEX: Then after that, our room was ready.
00:28:36.034 --> 00:28:36.614
ALEX: Our room was ready.
00:28:36.614 --> 00:28:36.914
ALEX: Yeah.
00:28:36.914 --> 00:28:38.274
ALEX: So we had some resort time.
00:28:38.274 --> 00:28:39.074
ALEX: We had drinks.
00:28:39.074 --> 00:28:40.354
ALEX: Well, you had drinks by the pool.
00:28:40.354 --> 00:28:42.314
ALEX: I just wanted to chill in the room.
00:28:42.314 --> 00:28:45.014
ALEX: And I just like looked at my phone.
00:28:45.014 --> 00:28:45.194
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:28:45.194 --> 00:28:47.714
VIRGINIA: I had a Frosé and Charles had a Bloody Mary.
00:28:47.714 --> 00:28:49.014
VIRGINIA: He loves Bloody Marys.
00:28:49.014 --> 00:28:49.514
ALEX: Yeah.
00:28:49.514 --> 00:28:51.434
ALEX: Don't know why I don't like tomato juice.
00:28:51.434 --> 00:28:53.894
ALEX: We called for our luggage, then we unpacked.
00:28:53.894 --> 00:28:58.174
VIRGINIA: And then I, previous to this trip, had a reservation.
00:28:58.174 --> 00:29:09.334
VIRGINIA: I had several dining reservations, but I thought I had too many reservations, so I was looking for some to cancel that we had eaten at before, just to try to keep the ones that were new to us.
00:29:09.334 --> 00:29:11.214
VIRGINIA: And I ended up canceling our at La Selye.
00:29:11.214 --> 00:29:17.454
VIRGINIA: But then on this day, Charles said, you know, I really do want to eat at La Selye, even though we've been there before.
00:29:17.454 --> 00:29:23.874
VIRGINIA: So I managed to snag us a last-minute La Selye reservation, which I think was basically at the same time we had had it originally.
00:29:23.874 --> 00:29:28.134
VIRGINIA: So we hopped into a lift to get over to Epcot.
00:29:28.134 --> 00:29:31.114
VIRGINIA: And of course, we rode Guardians of the Galaxy.
00:29:31.114 --> 00:29:33.994
VIRGINIA: I had a Lightning Lane single pass.
00:29:34.214 --> 00:29:36.634
VIRGINIA: I believe, well, either that or we did the Virtual Queue.
00:29:36.634 --> 00:29:41.534
VIRGINIA: I cannot remember, honestly, at this point, which one it was.
00:29:41.534 --> 00:29:43.894
VIRGINIA: So we had a single pass.
00:29:43.894 --> 00:29:44.754
VIRGINIA: I just checked my notes.
00:29:44.754 --> 00:29:46.234
VIRGINIA: OK, so we did Guardians of the Galaxy.
00:29:46.234 --> 00:29:47.714
VIRGINIA: Do you remember what the song was?
00:29:47.714 --> 00:29:50.414
VIRGINIA: We got the second ride, because I did not write it in my notes.
00:29:50.414 --> 00:29:52.274
ALEX: It was Everybody Wants to Rule the World.
00:29:52.274 --> 00:29:53.594
<v SPEAKER_3>Oh, yes.
00:29:53.594 --> 00:29:55.294
ALEX: I will always remember when we get that.
00:29:55.294 --> 00:29:57.694
VIRGINIA: And we went nuts, because we always do.
00:29:57.694 --> 00:29:59.194
<v SPEAKER_3>Like, yeah.
00:30:01.094 --> 00:30:02.574
VIRGINIA: It was so much fun.
00:30:02.574 --> 00:30:05.514
VIRGINIA: At La Selye, I had a filet mignon.
00:30:05.514 --> 00:30:07.414
VIRGINIA: And I think Charles had a filet mignon, too.
00:30:07.414 --> 00:30:07.994
VIRGINIA: I don't remember.
00:30:07.994 --> 00:30:09.134
VIRGINIA: What did you get, Alex?
00:30:09.134 --> 00:30:10.794
ALEX: I don't remember.
00:30:10.794 --> 00:30:12.534
ALEX: Wait, that was the Canadian restaurant, right?
00:30:12.534 --> 00:30:13.154
VIRGINIA: Yes.
00:30:13.154 --> 00:30:18.014
ALEX: Yeah, I don't remember what I had, honestly.
00:30:18.014 --> 00:30:19.394
ALEX: Yeah, it's a blur.
00:30:19.394 --> 00:30:20.894
VIRGINIA: OK, but it was good.
00:30:20.894 --> 00:30:21.694
VIRGINIA: We enjoyed it.
00:30:21.694 --> 00:30:22.914
ALEX: From what I remember, I think.
00:30:22.914 --> 00:30:26.854
VIRGINIA: And then we just hit up Spaceship Earth on the way out of the park because it was a very short wait.
00:30:27.214 --> 00:30:29.474
<v SPEAKER_3>Should have been Mission Space.
00:30:29.474 --> 00:30:31.554
VIRGINIA: Right after a nice big dinner.
00:30:31.554 --> 00:30:32.514
VIRGINIA: No, thank you.
00:30:33.474 --> 00:30:36.274
ALEX: Apparently, people have died because of that ride.
00:30:36.274 --> 00:30:39.914
VIRGINIA: Yeah, we were talking to somebody, but I think maybe it was our Uber driver.
00:30:39.914 --> 00:30:41.774
VIRGINIA: Oh, yes, it was our Uber.
00:30:41.774 --> 00:30:42.514
VIRGINIA: No, Lyft.
00:30:42.694 --> 00:30:43.654
ALEX: Yeah, it was our Lyft.
00:30:43.654 --> 00:30:44.974
VIRGINIA: It was our Lyft driver.
00:30:44.974 --> 00:30:48.934
ALEX: He was like, you know, people like almost died on that ride or have died on the ride.
00:30:49.054 --> 00:30:49.874
ALEX: We were like, what?
00:30:49.874 --> 00:30:54.614
ALEX: It's like, yeah, some kid, like he went to the hospital because of it and he passed away.
00:30:54.614 --> 00:30:57.634
VIRGINIA: Well, that was apparently at the very beginning when it was first made.
00:30:57.634 --> 00:31:00.014
VIRGINIA: They had the speed on too high.
00:31:00.014 --> 00:31:06.194
ALEX: Well, hey, like I did color orange like seven.
00:31:06.194 --> 00:31:08.274
ALEX: So that's kind of impressive.
00:31:08.274 --> 00:31:09.614
VIRGINIA: I'm very impressed with you.
00:31:09.614 --> 00:31:13.534
ALEX: This kid was four, though, so I don't think I think that makes quite a difference.
00:31:13.534 --> 00:31:14.474
VIRGINIA: Yeah, probably so.
00:31:15.534 --> 00:31:20.154
VIRGINIA: Anyway, then we're on to the next day, which is Tuesday, February 18th.
00:31:20.174 --> 00:31:23.854
ALEX: Yeah, then dad slept in and then you and me went to Animal Kingdom.
00:31:23.854 --> 00:31:38.494
ALEX: We made it to Animal Kingdom by 745 and rode Everest six times to meet our record because of our annual Everest ride, how many times we can ride it in a row before throwing up, I mean, before breaking the record.
00:31:39.554 --> 00:31:52.954
VIRGINIA: Hi there, I am popping in because I realized after the fact that I mentioned a little adventure that we had on Everest that I didn't talk about when Alex and I sat down to do our post-trip interview.
00:31:52.954 --> 00:31:59.234
VIRGINIA: So I need to spill the tea for everybody who is wondering and we're waiting for this story.
00:31:59.234 --> 00:32:01.434
VIRGINIA: Picture it, Sicily 2025.
00:32:01.434 --> 00:32:09.994
VIRGINIA: We went to Animal Kingdom and did what we do every time we wrote Drop Animal Kingdom, which is try to break our record for riding Everest.
00:32:09.994 --> 00:32:23.194
VIRGINIA: So we were doing that and I think this might have been like the third or the fourth time we were going through and we're going up the first big hill on Everest and I heard some sort of beeping.
00:32:23.194 --> 00:32:26.474
VIRGINIA: Didn't really think much of it, but it was a little odd.
00:32:26.474 --> 00:32:37.974
VIRGINIA: But then as we're climbing the hill, I heard the voice of the phone, so I guess Siri or whatever, saying emergency services will be called or something like that.
00:32:38.034 --> 00:32:43.854
VIRGINIA: I was kind of like, that's weird, but if they're going to call emergency services, I should probably answer it.
00:32:43.854 --> 00:32:51.414
VIRGINIA: The whole time, I'm digging through my backpack, going up the big hill and Alex is like, stop, stop, stop.
00:32:51.414 --> 00:32:52.894
VIRGINIA: You can't do that while we're on the ride.
00:32:52.894 --> 00:32:57.074
VIRGINIA: I was like, I think I have to because it's 911.
00:32:57.074 --> 00:32:59.894
VIRGINIA: Somebody's going to pick up and I was right.
00:33:00.114 --> 00:33:01.434
VIRGINIA: I picked up my phone.
00:33:01.434 --> 00:33:05.914
VIRGINIA: It said Orange County or whatever county emergency services and the call was starting to ring.
00:33:07.114 --> 00:33:11.174
VIRGINIA: I quickly turned it off because I thought, I don't need emergency services.
00:33:11.174 --> 00:33:12.394
VIRGINIA: I need to turn this off.
00:33:12.394 --> 00:33:21.094
VIRGINIA: Well, that's a dumb move because when 911 is called and they've started the process, if you hang up, they wonder what's going on.
00:33:21.094 --> 00:33:26.394
VIRGINIA: They immediately called back and this time I knew I had to answer, even though I was on the ride.
00:33:26.394 --> 00:33:33.094
VIRGINIA: I answered while I was going up that big hill and approaching the spot where the tracks are broken.
00:33:33.194 --> 00:33:36.754
VIRGINIA: This is all happening in that time period.
00:33:36.754 --> 00:33:40.814
VIRGINIA: I answered the call and they're like, hi, this is emergency services.
00:33:40.814 --> 00:33:42.534
VIRGINIA: What's your emergency?
00:33:43.634 --> 00:33:45.814
VIRGINIA: I said, I'm so sorry.
00:33:45.814 --> 00:33:47.894
VIRGINIA: I'm on a roller coaster.
00:33:47.894 --> 00:33:48.854
VIRGINIA: We're fine.
00:33:48.914 --> 00:33:50.514
VIRGINIA: They said, so you don't need anything?
00:33:50.514 --> 00:33:51.974
VIRGINIA: I was like, no, I'm all good.
00:33:51.974 --> 00:33:52.694
VIRGINIA: I'm on a roller coaster.
00:33:52.694 --> 00:33:54.674
VIRGINIA: It was an accident.
00:33:54.674 --> 00:33:55.794
VIRGINIA: They're like, okay, great.
00:33:55.794 --> 00:33:56.094
VIRGINIA: Thanks.
00:33:56.094 --> 00:33:56.914
VIRGINIA: Have a nice day.
00:33:56.914 --> 00:33:57.874
VIRGINIA: They hung up.
00:33:57.874 --> 00:34:06.594
VIRGINIA: But it was very nerve wracking for the moment where we were trying to get to the phone and make sure that they knew that I didn't need them to come and save us.
00:34:06.594 --> 00:34:08.014
VIRGINIA: And it was just so funny.
00:34:08.014 --> 00:34:20.874
VIRGINIA: And I think what happened was in my backpack, in my park bag, I have a section where my phone was sort of at the front zipped up and I always put my backpack between my feet down at the bottom.
00:34:20.874 --> 00:34:22.734
VIRGINIA: And I think I was just squeezing the bag too hard.
00:34:22.734 --> 00:34:30.054
VIRGINIA: And I did the thing where the side button, if it's held for a certain amount of time, it automatically thinks you might need emergency services.
00:34:30.394 --> 00:34:32.694
VIRGINIA: And it gives you a chance to get out of it.
00:34:32.694 --> 00:34:35.654
VIRGINIA: But because the phone was in my bag, I didn't have that opportunity.
00:34:35.654 --> 00:34:42.974
VIRGINIA: It just started the process of saying, emergency services will be called in 10 seconds or whatever it said.
00:34:42.974 --> 00:34:48.334
VIRGINIA: And so that is the story of how I accidentally dialed 911 on Everest.
00:34:48.334 --> 00:34:50.914
VIRGINIA: So I won't be making that mistake again.
00:34:50.914 --> 00:35:03.094
VIRGINIA: I felt really silly, but I'm also glad that we were able to stop the process of getting assistance before they actually started out because I would hate to waste those resources when someone actually needs help.
00:35:03.094 --> 00:35:06.594
VIRGINIA: So back to the regular show.
00:35:06.594 --> 00:35:08.694
ALEX: Then we grabbed a breakfast.
00:35:08.694 --> 00:35:11.694
ALEX: I grabbed a breakfast full and you got a biscuit.
00:35:11.694 --> 00:35:15.494
ALEX: Then we got some Starbucks and we looked at, well you looked at stores to.
00:35:15.494 --> 00:35:16.794
VIRGINIA: Yeah, it was chilly.
00:35:16.794 --> 00:35:22.354
VIRGINIA: And so Alex just wanted to chill on a bench, literally because it was chilly out.
00:35:22.354 --> 00:35:25.274
VIRGINIA: And I was like, I need a little break from the chill.
00:35:25.274 --> 00:35:30.614
VIRGINIA: So I went and I walked through the Animal Kingdom stores and we were waiting because Charles was meeting up with us.
00:35:30.614 --> 00:35:35.854
VIRGINIA: And on this day, because it was our only Animal Kingdom day, we did have multi-pass.
00:35:35.854 --> 00:35:37.814
VIRGINIA: So we knew we had some lightning lanes.
00:35:37.814 --> 00:35:40.674
VIRGINIA: And so we were waiting for Charles to join us.
00:35:40.674 --> 00:35:41.734
VIRGINIA: And he did.
00:35:41.734 --> 00:35:43.614
VIRGINIA: And we did the safari.
00:35:43.614 --> 00:35:48.874
VIRGINIA: And then we headed over to Nomad Lounge and we had like a big feast.
00:35:48.874 --> 00:35:53.894
ALEX: Yeah, we had the churro and bread service and dad got the satay.
00:35:54.654 --> 00:35:55.734
ALEX: Satay.
00:35:55.734 --> 00:35:57.034
ALEX: I meant to say that.
00:35:57.034 --> 00:35:58.654
ALEX: Yeah, it was a nice time.
00:35:58.654 --> 00:36:05.094
ALEX: We got those little like watermelon drinks set with the natural fruit by the foot things.
00:36:05.094 --> 00:36:05.954
ALEX: They're very good.
00:36:05.954 --> 00:36:08.454
VIRGINIA: So the Jen's tattoo is the alcohol version.
00:36:08.454 --> 00:36:12.174
VIRGINIA: And then Alex always gets whatever the non-alcoholic version of that is.
00:36:12.174 --> 00:36:18.614
VIRGINIA: And he asks for the hibiscus flower to be added because they don't put it in the non-alcoholic version.
00:36:18.614 --> 00:36:19.914
ALEX: But to know which is which.
00:36:19.914 --> 00:36:20.294
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:36:20.294 --> 00:36:23.154
VIRGINIA: But this this server that we had was just like, sure.
00:36:23.654 --> 00:36:25.774
VIRGINIA: She didn't give us any problem about it.
00:36:25.774 --> 00:36:27.154
VIRGINIA: So that was nice.
00:36:27.154 --> 00:36:27.854
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:36:27.854 --> 00:36:36.694
ALEX: Then after we had No Man Lounge, we went back for the African corn, which is of course the best corn I've ever tasted in my life.
00:36:36.694 --> 00:36:40.634
ALEX: Although the spices are becoming less and less every time we go there for some reason.
00:36:40.634 --> 00:36:41.114
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:36:41.114 --> 00:36:45.074
VIRGINIA: There were definitely naked parts to my corn where I couldn't taste any spice.
00:36:45.074 --> 00:36:49.554
ALEX: I tasted a lot for one side of the corn and then the rest of it was like trash.
00:36:50.434 --> 00:36:54.614
ALEX: Anyways, then we walked the Guerrilla Trail, which was pretty cool.
00:36:54.614 --> 00:36:56.554
ALEX: We got to see animals and stuff.
00:36:56.554 --> 00:37:01.194
ALEX: And then we went to Nemo for a nap and to get some air conditioning.
00:37:01.194 --> 00:37:01.474
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:37:01.474 --> 00:37:09.654
VIRGINIA: So I just want to be very clear that the Finding Nemo show there at Animal Kingdom is so good.
00:37:09.654 --> 00:37:11.694
VIRGINIA: I like it better than the Lion King show.
00:37:11.694 --> 00:37:24.314
VIRGINIA: I love it, but I was very tired and I specifically went to see the show knowing that I was going to sit back and relax and close my eyes and probably fall asleep.
00:37:24.314 --> 00:37:32.174
VIRGINIA: So I kept my sunglasses on and I did not want the people on stage to see that I was taking a little nap-a-roo.
00:37:32.174 --> 00:37:33.214
VIRGINIA: So I left my sunglasses on.
00:37:33.214 --> 00:37:34.774
VIRGINIA: It was probably totally obvious.
00:37:35.414 --> 00:37:37.014
ALEX: Oh yeah, I just didn't care.
00:37:37.014 --> 00:37:40.754
ALEX: I literally slept on your shoulder the whole time.
00:37:40.754 --> 00:37:42.854
VIRGINIA: But I felt much better after we were done.
00:37:42.914 --> 00:37:44.714
ALEX: I did, yes.
00:37:44.714 --> 00:37:48.234
ALEX: Yeah, then after that we went to Dinosaur for the last time.
00:37:48.234 --> 00:37:57.434
VIRGINIA: Okay, here's the thing is every time I've ridden Dinosaur lately, even as much as I would say last year, I always think it's going to be the last time.
00:37:57.434 --> 00:37:59.194
ALEX: Yeah, it always just feels like that.
00:37:59.194 --> 00:38:04.894
ALEX: It was, you know, sad though that we that was pretty much our last time.
00:38:04.894 --> 00:38:08.034
ALEX: And yeah, after that we went to Pandora.
00:38:08.034 --> 00:38:09.914
ALEX: We went on Navi River Journey.
00:38:09.914 --> 00:38:11.834
ALEX: Then after that we went on Flight of Passage.
00:38:12.574 --> 00:38:14.054
VIRGINIA: And those were all with Lightning Lanes.
00:38:14.054 --> 00:38:19.394
ALEX: Yes, and then we all got night blossoms, which was of course amazing.
00:38:19.394 --> 00:38:23.454
ALEX: Although that is literally the recipe for getting brain freezes.
00:38:23.454 --> 00:38:27.994
ALEX: Like every time I drink it, it doesn't matter how much I drink, I will always get a brain freeze.
00:38:27.994 --> 00:38:30.354
<v SPEAKER_3>And it is bad.
00:38:30.354 --> 00:38:33.354
VIRGINIA: So we drank those night blossoms on our way out.
00:38:33.814 --> 00:38:36.434
VIRGINIA: We had to wait a long time for the bus, I remember.
00:38:36.434 --> 00:38:39.914
VIRGINIA: We wanted to go back to the hotel, have a little bit of resort time.
00:38:40.434 --> 00:38:45.214
VIRGINIA: So we did that, we ended up having dinner at Gasparilla Grill again.
00:38:45.214 --> 00:38:46.614
VIRGINIA: I don't remember what we got.
00:38:46.614 --> 00:38:53.514
VIRGINIA: I want to say I got the flatbread because Charles had had the buffalo chicken flatbread, and he said it was good.
00:38:53.514 --> 00:38:59.234
VIRGINIA: I had it because I've recently come to the conclusion that I actually like buffalo flavor, and it was good.
00:38:59.234 --> 00:39:00.234
VIRGINIA: So enjoyed that.
00:39:00.234 --> 00:39:02.234
VIRGINIA: Then we just relaxed in the room.
00:39:02.234 --> 00:39:05.234
VIRGINIA: And then at one point, Charles wanted to go out again.
00:39:05.234 --> 00:39:12.654
VIRGINIA: So we went up to the Enchanted Rose together, just the two of us, a little date time, while Alex stayed in the room.
00:39:12.654 --> 00:39:19.374
VIRGINIA: And he had the lavender fog, which I've had before, and it's always very good.
00:39:19.374 --> 00:39:23.514
VIRGINIA: And I tried the French 75 that they have there, and it was delicious.
00:39:23.514 --> 00:39:28.514
VIRGINIA: And then we just came back to the room, and we all went to bed kind of early.
00:39:28.514 --> 00:39:29.694
<v SPEAKER_3>Yeah.
00:39:29.694 --> 00:39:32.814
ALEX: So then we're on to Wednesday.
00:39:32.854 --> 00:39:36.774
ALEX: This was Magic Kingdom Day, so we slept in, and we went to Magic Kingdom.
00:39:36.774 --> 00:39:45.374
ALEX: We got there by 10, 15, and then we went on Buzz Lightyear, and I got Galacti Hero, but I didn't want to take the sticker to be humble about it, you know?
00:39:45.374 --> 00:39:48.234
ALEX: Be like, oh, yeah, no big deal.
00:39:48.234 --> 00:39:53.274
VIRGINIA: I again got 700-something thousand, which was disappointing.
00:39:53.434 --> 00:39:54.774
ALEX: You just got to hit your shots.
00:39:54.774 --> 00:40:05.534
VIRGINIA: Listen, I try, and this is the thing, is I know I come off sounding very competitive when it comes to this ride, but I am in competition with myself.
00:40:05.534 --> 00:40:11.694
VIRGINIA: And I know that I've gotten Galacti Hero multiple times, so I always want to get as close to that as possible.
00:40:11.694 --> 00:40:18.374
VIRGINIA: And this trip, I could not get past the 700-thousands, so whatever.
00:40:18.374 --> 00:40:23.634
ALEX: There was one trip, I think this was with Maddox and Presley.
00:40:23.634 --> 00:40:30.374
ALEX: I got my own little cart, and I got the top score on one of the guns, and then I was like, you know what?
00:40:30.374 --> 00:40:31.374
ALEX: I'm going to switch to the other one.
00:40:31.874 --> 00:40:38.514
ALEX: So I switched to the other side, and I almost beat it if you weren't in my way for the last five minutes.
00:40:38.514 --> 00:40:39.954
VIRGINIA: He always blames me for this, but what?
00:40:39.954 --> 00:40:40.994
<v SPEAKER_3>Well, I still do.
00:40:40.994 --> 00:40:41.834
VIRGINIA: Whatever.
00:40:41.834 --> 00:40:46.234
VIRGINIA: Anyway, it was chilly, and also it was morning still.
00:40:46.234 --> 00:40:52.434
VIRGINIA: So we decided we were going to have breakfast at Sleepy Hollow, but pro tip, don't get your coffee at Sleepy Hollow because it's not great.
00:40:52.434 --> 00:40:56.134
VIRGINIA: It's just the Drawfries drip coffee, and I just don't think it's very good.
00:40:56.134 --> 00:41:03.494
VIRGINIA: So we were looking to go to the Drawfries in front of Space Mountain, but the line was way too long, so instead we went to Starbucks.
00:41:03.494 --> 00:41:16.014
VIRGINIA: Then we headed over to Sleepy Hollow and used Maria from the Disney Dane's tip of ordering our waffles with the berries and bananas on the side, and adding on the extra Nutella.
00:41:16.574 --> 00:41:18.374
VIRGINIA: So that was good.
00:41:18.374 --> 00:41:23.694
VIRGINIA: They're not as good as they used to be when you could just order them and not have to make these special tweaks.
00:41:23.694 --> 00:41:29.034
VIRGINIA: But I will say with the tweaks, I very much enjoyed my Nutella waffle this time.
00:41:29.374 --> 00:41:29.694
ALEX: Yeah.
00:41:29.694 --> 00:41:33.754
ALEX: Then after that, we went to Haunted Mansion, and then we had some resort time.
00:41:33.754 --> 00:41:37.934
ALEX: So we went back to the hotel, and you guys went to the pool and relaxed.
00:41:37.934 --> 00:41:39.774
ALEX: Honestly, I didn't want to go to the pool this trip.
00:41:39.774 --> 00:41:41.234
ALEX: I was kind of just tired.
00:41:41.234 --> 00:41:44.334
ALEX: And then we headed back to the park.
00:41:44.334 --> 00:41:47.714
VIRGINIA: So I just want to talk about the pool time.
00:41:47.714 --> 00:41:58.834
VIRGINIA: So the pool time, this was the second thing I mentioned that we weren't planning on and that I just maybe I didn't notice it or maybe I just didn't do research.
00:41:58.834 --> 00:41:59.794
VIRGINIA: I don't know.
00:41:59.794 --> 00:42:08.334
VIRGINIA: But in addition to the boat service from Old Key West to Disney Springs being down, the whole quiet pool at Grand Floridian was down.
00:42:08.334 --> 00:42:12.994
VIRGINIA: So the only pool that was open was the main pool with the slide and all that.
00:42:12.994 --> 00:42:15.254
VIRGINIA: So it was packed.
00:42:15.254 --> 00:42:18.414
VIRGINIA: We had, so Charles and I went over to the pool by ourselves.
00:42:18.414 --> 00:42:22.374
VIRGINIA: We ended up finding one chair to share for a bit.
00:42:22.614 --> 00:42:26.474
VIRGINIA: We got some pool service kind of lunch type food.
00:42:26.474 --> 00:42:30.594
VIRGINIA: Eventually a second chair came available, but it was just, it was so packed.
00:42:30.594 --> 00:42:33.434
VIRGINIA: It was too cold in my opinion to go in the water.
00:42:33.434 --> 00:42:40.214
VIRGINIA: I did want to try the slide because I've never been down that slide before, even though I've stayed at Grand Floridian before, but couldn't do that.
00:42:40.214 --> 00:42:48.214
VIRGINIA: And then we discovered, because I was asking about the hot tub, like where's the hot tub location?
00:42:48.214 --> 00:42:49.674
VIRGINIA: I asked the bartender.
00:42:49.674 --> 00:42:52.634
VIRGINIA: And apparently the only hot tub is over in the quiet pool area.
00:42:52.634 --> 00:43:04.174
VIRGINIA: And because the quiet pool was being refurbished or something was happening over there, it was closed the entire time, that meant we did not have access to the hot tub either.
00:43:04.174 --> 00:43:07.714
VIRGINIA: So anyway, but it was nice to relax a little bit by the pool.
00:43:07.714 --> 00:43:12.354
VIRGINIA: I read my book, I had a drink, you know, had some sunshine.
00:43:12.354 --> 00:43:16.474
VIRGINIA: And then we headed back over to Magic Kingdom specifically to ride.
00:43:16.474 --> 00:43:17.534
ALEX: Dianna.
00:43:17.534 --> 00:43:18.414
VIRGINIA: And that was your first time.
00:43:18.414 --> 00:43:19.514
VIRGINIA: So tell us what you thought.
00:43:20.114 --> 00:43:21.974
ALEX: I thought it was amazing.
00:43:23.374 --> 00:43:29.394
ALEX: I thought the track was a lot better than Splash Mountain, although I do love the theming of Splash Mountain better.
00:43:29.394 --> 00:43:31.034
ALEX: But I thought it was really cool.
00:43:31.034 --> 00:43:33.854
ALEX: It's more like a roller coaster this time.
00:43:33.854 --> 00:43:35.854
ALEX: It was really fun.
00:43:35.854 --> 00:43:36.254
ALEX: Yeah.
00:43:36.254 --> 00:43:45.114
ALEX: Then after we rode Tiana, we went back to the hotel to change shirts and we took a lift to the Four Seasons Orlando.
00:43:46.474 --> 00:43:47.994
VIRGINIA: That reminds me of the TikTok.
00:43:48.354 --> 00:43:50.834
VIRGINIA: It's like, who wants to go to the Four Seasons Orlando?
00:43:50.834 --> 00:43:51.414
ALEX: Me.
00:43:51.414 --> 00:43:53.694
ALEX: I miss that.
00:43:53.694 --> 00:43:56.114
ALEX: Then we ate at Ravello.
00:43:56.574 --> 00:43:57.374
VIRGINIA: Yes.
00:43:57.374 --> 00:44:02.674
VIRGINIA: We ate at Ravello specifically because the Main Street dish highly recommended it.
00:44:03.134 --> 00:44:06.054
VIRGINIA: I think there's another restaurant over there that's fancier that they recommend.
00:44:06.054 --> 00:44:08.314
VIRGINIA: But went to Ravello.
00:44:08.314 --> 00:44:13.594
VIRGINIA: We got the burrata, which was excellent, and the focaccia.
00:44:13.594 --> 00:44:15.974
VIRGINIA: The focaccia was fine.
00:44:15.974 --> 00:44:16.754
VIRGINIA: Then we got the meatball.
00:44:16.874 --> 00:44:18.034
VIRGINIA: We got so many appetizers.
00:44:18.034 --> 00:44:18.854
VIRGINIA: We got the meatballs.
00:44:18.854 --> 00:44:20.934
VIRGINIA: The meatballs were the best of the appetizers.
00:44:20.934 --> 00:44:21.814
ALEX: They were amazing, yeah.
00:44:21.814 --> 00:44:23.054
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:44:23.054 --> 00:44:28.914
VIRGINIA: Dad also got something called carpaccio, which is raw beef.
00:44:28.914 --> 00:44:32.574
VIRGINIA: And I will not have that.
00:44:32.574 --> 00:44:33.734
VIRGINIA: But he loves it.
00:44:33.734 --> 00:44:36.254
VIRGINIA: If it's on a menu, he wants to get it.
00:44:36.254 --> 00:44:37.934
VIRGINIA: So he got that.
00:44:37.994 --> 00:44:42.874
VIRGINIA: I had the pasta with the bolognese, bolognese.
00:44:42.874 --> 00:44:43.874
VIRGINIA: How do you even say that?
00:44:43.874 --> 00:44:46.194
VIRGINIA: Bolognese sauce.
00:44:46.194 --> 00:44:47.394
VIRGINIA: It was good.
00:44:47.394 --> 00:44:52.694
VIRGINIA: And then for dessert, I got the panna cotta and that was delicious.
00:44:52.694 --> 00:44:56.934
VIRGINIA: Alex, do you remember what you had to eat for your entree at Ravello?
00:44:56.934 --> 00:44:59.414
ALEX: No, I wish I did.
00:44:59.414 --> 00:45:01.134
ALEX: I just remember it was pretty good.
00:45:01.134 --> 00:45:02.114
VIRGINIA: Oh, you had pizza.
00:45:02.114 --> 00:45:02.614
ALEX: Oh, I had pizza.
00:45:02.614 --> 00:45:03.334
ALEX: I had pizza.
00:45:03.494 --> 00:45:04.634
VIRGINIA: We both remember it at the same time.
00:45:04.634 --> 00:45:05.514
ALEX: I take it back, though.
00:45:05.514 --> 00:45:06.254
ALEX: It was not that good.
00:45:06.254 --> 00:45:08.594
ALEX: It was pretty dry, if I'm being honest.
00:45:08.594 --> 00:45:11.654
ALEX: They needed more sauce on it.
00:45:11.654 --> 00:45:22.394
VIRGINIA: After that, we headed back to the Grand Floridian to change clothes, and that was because it was late hours for Deluxe and DVC Villa guests at Magic Kingdom that night.
00:45:22.394 --> 00:45:24.394
VIRGINIA: So we wanted to take advantage of that.
00:45:24.394 --> 00:45:34.934
VIRGINIA: Before the late hours actually started, though, we did have a bunch of lightning lanes that were already ready for us, that we had kind of pre-booked some of them and stacked a couple.
00:45:34.934 --> 00:45:39.134
VIRGINIA: So the first thing we did was we headed over to Buzz to use the lightning lane.
00:45:39.134 --> 00:45:39.634
ALEX: Yeah.
00:45:39.634 --> 00:45:44.454
ALEX: Then after Buzz, we went to Small World, and then after Small World, we went to Peter Pan.
00:45:44.454 --> 00:45:51.094
ALEX: Then we went to Pirates, no lightning lane because there was like no wait line, wait time, which was nice.
00:45:51.094 --> 00:45:58.314
ALEX: Dad was tired, so he went back to the Grand Floridian, and you and me, we went to Buzz lightning lane again.
00:45:58.814 --> 00:45:59.614
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:45:59.614 --> 00:46:05.854
VIRGINIA: I think there was another ride that was down, and it became an anytime lightning lane.
00:46:05.974 --> 00:46:13.474
VIRGINIA: We then, even though we had used our Buzz lightning lane earlier, we decided to use our anytime lightning lane to do it again.
00:46:13.474 --> 00:46:17.114
VIRGINIA: Then we hopped right back in line to do it standby.
00:46:17.114 --> 00:46:21.934
ALEX: Then we did it one more time after that because you were desperate to get 999,000.
00:46:21.934 --> 00:46:25.534
VIRGINIA: I could not crack into the 100,000 or higher.
00:46:25.534 --> 00:46:26.434
ALEX: I got that every time.
00:46:27.634 --> 00:46:28.634
VIRGINIA: You don't have to brag.
00:46:30.474 --> 00:46:32.314
VIRGINIA: From there, we did Space Mountain.
00:46:32.314 --> 00:46:37.414
ALEX: Then we went to go get a Drawfee's Donut and a Blueberry Lemonade, and you got a Strawberry Mocha.
00:46:37.514 --> 00:46:40.374
ALEX: We kind of just talked there about rides.
00:46:40.374 --> 00:46:43.334
ALEX: Where would you live in the park?
00:46:43.334 --> 00:46:44.514
ALEX: It can't be a resort though.
00:46:44.514 --> 00:46:45.334
VIRGINIA: Oh, I forgot.
00:46:45.334 --> 00:46:46.234
VIRGINIA: I asked Alex.
00:46:46.234 --> 00:46:56.194
VIRGINIA: I said, if you had to pick a ride, any ride to live in basically, like now you have to stay overnight here.
00:46:56.194 --> 00:46:56.934
ALEX: Haunted Mansion.
00:46:56.934 --> 00:46:57.594
VIRGINIA: Where would it be?
00:46:57.594 --> 00:47:01.054
VIRGINIA: So you have to pick a place, in my opinion, that you think you could sleep.
00:47:01.054 --> 00:47:01.914
ALEX: Yeah, not Haunted Mansion.
00:47:01.914 --> 00:47:03.194
<v SPEAKER_3>I was joking about that.
00:47:03.194 --> 00:47:05.474
ALEX: But yeah, then after that, we went to Tron.
00:47:05.474 --> 00:47:06.314
VIRGINIA: Wait, wait, wait.
00:47:06.314 --> 00:47:08.294
VIRGINIA: People are going to wonder, what was your choice?
00:47:08.294 --> 00:47:09.394
ALEX: My choice for the ride?
00:47:09.394 --> 00:47:10.754
ALEX: I don't remember.
00:47:10.754 --> 00:47:12.634
ALEX: Not Small World.
00:47:12.634 --> 00:47:13.634
ALEX: That was creepy.
00:47:13.634 --> 00:47:15.614
VIRGINIA: That's all I know is it wasn't Small World.
00:47:15.614 --> 00:47:17.074
ALEX: It just wasn't Small World.
00:47:17.074 --> 00:47:20.594
ALEX: I'm like, come on, I'm not going to become one of them, am I?
00:47:20.594 --> 00:47:21.454
ALEX: Is that what happened?
00:47:21.454 --> 00:47:21.534
VIRGINIA: No.
00:47:22.894 --> 00:47:23.754
ALEX: Yeah, I chose something.
00:47:23.754 --> 00:47:25.334
VIRGINIA: I don't remember what I chose.
00:47:25.334 --> 00:47:25.734
ALEX: Yeah.
00:47:25.734 --> 00:47:29.114
ALEX: Then after that, we went to Tron and it was supposed to 35-minute wait.
00:47:29.114 --> 00:47:36.094
ALEX: Then we entered the line at 1207 and then we got off by 1227, and then we headed back to the hotel.
00:47:36.094 --> 00:47:39.174
ALEX: Then after that, it was Thursday.
00:47:41.274 --> 00:47:43.254
VIRGINIA: Thursday, February 20th.
00:47:43.274 --> 00:47:45.234
VIRGINIA: This was our Run Disney Expo Day.
00:47:45.334 --> 00:47:49.334
VIRGINIA: The first thing that we did was get a virtual queue to go to the expo.
00:47:49.334 --> 00:47:53.874
VIRGINIA: We got group 58 and that group was not called until 1215.
00:47:53.874 --> 00:47:57.894
VIRGINIA: As soon as I got the virtual queue, we went right back to sleep.
00:47:57.894 --> 00:48:00.434
VIRGINIA: Then we took the bus over to the expo.
00:48:00.434 --> 00:48:10.054
VIRGINIA: While we were there, I bought the Run Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend Spirit Jersey and the Quirksicle Water Bottle and a Pin.
00:48:10.054 --> 00:48:13.774
VIRGINIA: Again, check out the hall if you want to see what all that looks like.
00:48:13.774 --> 00:48:16.134
VIRGINIA: We picked up our bibs for the race.
00:48:16.134 --> 00:48:25.394
VIRGINIA: Then when we took the bus back, we actually decided to get off at the Polynesian because we thought maybe we could get a walk up for Kona Cafe or for Ohana or something.
00:48:25.394 --> 00:48:27.874
VIRGINIA: Neither of those had walk up availability.
00:48:27.874 --> 00:48:32.974
VIRGINIA: Instead, we got a Dole Whip to walk back to the Grand Floridian with.
00:48:32.974 --> 00:48:39.774
VIRGINIA: While we were walking, we ended up passing the Wailulu Grill at the new Polynesian Tower.
00:48:40.814 --> 00:48:44.014
VIRGINIA: There were tables empty, so we decided to hop in there and have a late lunch.
00:48:44.014 --> 00:48:46.734
VIRGINIA: It was about four o'clock at that point.
00:48:46.734 --> 00:48:48.294
VIRGINIA: I really liked the Wailulu Grill.
00:48:48.294 --> 00:48:49.974
VIRGINIA: I thought it was good food.
00:48:49.974 --> 00:48:52.654
ALEX: Yeah, I thought it was really good too.
00:48:53.434 --> 00:48:58.614
ALEX: Then after that, we went back to the room, of course, and then we accidentally took a nap for a few hours.
00:48:59.134 --> 00:49:01.614
VIRGINIA: Yeah, it was an accidental nap.
00:49:01.614 --> 00:49:02.294
VIRGINIA: It happens.
00:49:02.294 --> 00:49:03.334
ALEX: It happens, yeah.
00:49:03.334 --> 00:49:07.334
ALEX: Then we got up and went back to the Quick Service for Burgers.
00:49:07.334 --> 00:49:10.194
ALEX: We got in bed and we had lights out by 930.
00:49:10.194 --> 00:49:13.334
VIRGINIA: Yes, because we had to get up very early the next morning for run.
00:49:13.334 --> 00:49:16.354
ALEX: Oh my god.
00:49:16.354 --> 00:49:19.774
VIRGINIA: We should have been in bed before 930.
00:49:19.774 --> 00:49:22.874
ALEX: No, that's not the problem.
00:49:22.874 --> 00:49:25.194
ALEX: This day, this was terrible.
00:49:25.194 --> 00:49:26.674
ALEX: I'm sorry, but this was terrible.
00:49:27.054 --> 00:49:29.974
ALEX: We are at Friday now, the run day.
00:49:29.974 --> 00:49:37.714
ALEX: We were up by 245 on a bus pulling away by 345 in the morning.
00:49:37.714 --> 00:49:39.574
ALEX: We had a 5k run.
00:49:39.574 --> 00:49:40.734
ALEX: Yeah, 5k.
00:49:40.734 --> 00:49:44.214
ALEX: You know, it doesn't sound bad when I say it out loud, but really it was the worst.
00:49:44.214 --> 00:49:46.174
ALEX: It was freezing cold.
00:49:46.174 --> 00:49:47.634
ALEX: We had blankets.
00:49:47.634 --> 00:49:49.134
ALEX: We like, I was still the blanket.
00:49:49.194 --> 00:49:49.714
ALEX: It didn't help.
00:49:49.714 --> 00:49:51.274
ALEX: I needed like coffee or something.
00:49:51.274 --> 00:49:53.574
ALEX: And the coffee was way too sweet.
00:49:53.574 --> 00:49:58.674
ALEX: And it was like early in the morning and everybody was like jumping up and down all of a sudden.
00:49:58.674 --> 00:50:02.614
<v SPEAKER_3>I'm like, it's like five in the morning.
00:50:02.614 --> 00:50:04.354
<v SPEAKER_3>What are you talking about?
00:50:04.354 --> 00:50:06.394
<v SPEAKER_3>Jumping up and down?
00:50:06.394 --> 00:50:10.054
VIRGINIA: Anyway, this was all of our first run Disney experiences.
00:50:10.054 --> 00:50:11.094
VIRGINIA: It was early.
00:50:11.094 --> 00:50:16.454
VIRGINIA: I've said this before when I have interviewed other people that you may or may not have heard by this point or not.
00:50:16.574 --> 00:50:19.894
VIRGINIA: But I would totally do another run Disney Race.
00:50:19.894 --> 00:50:22.574
VIRGINIA: I will not do one that happens in February.
00:50:22.574 --> 00:50:23.154
ALEX: Thank God.
00:50:23.154 --> 00:50:29.874
VIRGINIA: I need to do it at a time of year when it's more likely to be a little warmer because it was freezing cold.
00:50:29.994 --> 00:50:31.474
<v SPEAKER_3>It was the worst.
00:50:31.474 --> 00:50:32.814
VIRGINIA: I was wearing like four layers.
00:50:32.814 --> 00:50:34.234
ALEX: Yeah, and it was still cold.
00:50:34.234 --> 00:50:35.214
ALEX: It was freezing.
00:50:35.214 --> 00:50:39.434
ALEX: And me and dad kept cracking jokes just because.
00:50:39.434 --> 00:50:41.534
VIRGINIA: To keep yourselves warm with laughter.
00:50:41.534 --> 00:50:42.134
ALEX: With laughter.
00:50:42.134 --> 00:50:42.954
ALEX: It was very funny.
00:50:43.014 --> 00:50:43.974
ALEX: Yes.
00:50:43.974 --> 00:50:45.034
VIRGINIA: Alex took off.
00:50:45.034 --> 00:50:45.834
VIRGINIA: He...
00:50:45.834 --> 00:50:47.694
ALEX: Best part of that day was the bus ride, by the way.
00:50:47.694 --> 00:50:55.574
VIRGINIA: He managed to finish the race much faster than Charles and I did because it was cold and I was still getting over my bronchitis.
00:50:55.574 --> 00:50:58.294
VIRGINIA: So I couldn't really run or I was going to like...
00:50:58.294 --> 00:50:59.974
ALEX: Ain't nobody got time for that.
00:50:59.974 --> 00:51:01.994
VIRGINIA: Ain't nobody got time for bronchitis.
00:51:01.994 --> 00:51:02.414
ALEX: Yeah.
00:51:02.834 --> 00:51:03.874
ALEX: I ran it.
00:51:03.874 --> 00:51:04.474
ALEX: I didn't.
00:51:04.474 --> 00:51:05.674
ALEX: I just wanted it to be over with.
00:51:05.674 --> 00:51:08.694
ALEX: So I just ran a ton and then I walked a ton like really fast.
00:51:09.434 --> 00:51:11.414
ALEX: I just want to sit down and I just want to be warm.
00:51:12.434 --> 00:51:19.754
VIRGINIA: After the race, we came back and we did a sit down brunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe.
00:51:19.754 --> 00:51:21.594
VIRGINIA: It was very good.
00:51:21.594 --> 00:51:25.554
VIRGINIA: And then we went back to the room and we all laid down for a nap.
00:51:25.554 --> 00:51:27.874
VIRGINIA: And it was about a five hour nap.
00:51:27.874 --> 00:51:29.954
VIRGINIA: And believe me, I understand that.
00:51:29.954 --> 00:51:31.774
ALEX: It was the best nap I've ever taken.
00:51:31.774 --> 00:51:32.774
VIRGINIA: It was a 5k.
00:51:32.774 --> 00:51:33.754
VIRGINIA: It was not a marathon.
00:51:33.754 --> 00:51:34.974
VIRGINIA: It wasn't a half marathon.
00:51:34.974 --> 00:51:36.634
VIRGINIA: It was a 5k.
00:51:36.634 --> 00:51:40.834
VIRGINIA: But we between the travel and all the running around the parks were exhausted.
00:51:41.254 --> 00:51:45.314
VIRGINIA: So I think if I'm going to do a run Disney race, it not only has to be warmer.
00:51:45.314 --> 00:51:50.574
VIRGINIA: I think I need to do it where I'm doing the race within the first like day or two of the trip.
00:51:50.574 --> 00:51:53.394
VIRGINIA: And then saving my enjoyment of the parks for the end.
00:51:53.394 --> 00:51:58.854
VIRGINIA: Because this was like towards the end of the trip after we've been walking for days and days and days.
00:51:58.854 --> 00:52:00.754
VIRGINIA: Oh yeah, let's run a 5k.
00:52:00.754 --> 00:52:04.054
VIRGINIA: So, you know, you live, you learn.
00:52:04.054 --> 00:52:09.294
VIRGINIA: After our nap, we had a dinner reservation over at Narcoosee's right there at the Grand Floridian.
00:52:09.514 --> 00:52:11.874
VIRGINIA: And it was delicious.
00:52:11.874 --> 00:52:16.754
VIRGINIA: Everything we had, I did not write down what we had, but everything we had was amazing.
00:52:16.754 --> 00:52:18.574
VIRGINIA: I just, I loved our meal.
00:52:18.574 --> 00:52:20.434
VIRGINIA: I loved our drinks.
00:52:20.434 --> 00:52:21.574
VIRGINIA: I loved our appetizer.
00:52:21.574 --> 00:52:23.134
VIRGINIA: Everything was good.
00:52:23.134 --> 00:52:31.094
VIRGINIA: After dinner, Sachi and Fordy, two of our friends who are Disney friends who also live in New York City like us.
00:52:31.094 --> 00:52:33.774
VIRGINIA: So we were like friends in real life.
00:52:33.774 --> 00:52:36.574
VIRGINIA: We wanted to go meet them because we knew they were at Magic Kingdom.
00:52:36.694 --> 00:52:40.854
VIRGINIA: So we decided to take the boat and that was a mistake.
00:52:40.854 --> 00:52:43.854
ALEX: That was the worst boat ride I've also had in my life.
00:52:43.854 --> 00:52:50.094
ALEX: We've had two experiences on this trip where I was insanely cold and I couldn't do anything about it.
00:52:50.094 --> 00:52:51.254
ALEX: But yeah.
00:52:51.254 --> 00:52:52.734
VIRGINIA: We were the only two on the boat.
00:52:52.734 --> 00:52:53.134
VIRGINIA: We were.
00:52:53.134 --> 00:52:54.154
ALEX: It was our boat again.
00:52:54.154 --> 00:52:59.374
VIRGINIA: We were literally huddled together with our arms wrapped around each other, like a little match girl or something.
00:52:59.654 --> 00:53:01.894
ALEX: Surprise, surprise.
00:53:02.974 --> 00:53:06.674
ALEX: The boat was delayed for like 30 minutes.
00:53:06.674 --> 00:53:14.014
ALEX: So we were on that boat for 30 minutes in the water, doing nothing, waiting for another boat to pull out.
00:53:14.014 --> 00:53:14.394
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:53:14.394 --> 00:53:19.214
VIRGINIA: We were waiting for another boat and then the electrical water project was coming past.
00:53:19.214 --> 00:53:22.694
VIRGINIA: It was like everything that possibly could have happened happened.
00:53:22.694 --> 00:53:25.814
VIRGINIA: And anyway, we made it over to Magic Kingdom.
00:53:25.814 --> 00:53:28.934
VIRGINIA: We met up with Sachi and Fordy at Starbucks.
00:53:29.194 --> 00:53:31.834
VIRGINIA: And we got beverages to keep warm.
00:53:31.834 --> 00:53:32.194
<v SPEAKER_3>Yeah.
00:53:32.194 --> 00:53:33.134
<v SPEAKER_3>And that's all.
00:53:33.134 --> 00:53:35.574
VIRGINIA: We literally said hi to them and got our beverages.
00:53:36.814 --> 00:53:38.174
VIRGINIA: We didn't go ride a ride.
00:53:38.174 --> 00:53:39.334
VIRGINIA: We just gave them hugs.
00:53:39.334 --> 00:53:40.274
VIRGINIA: We stood there and talked for a while.
00:53:40.274 --> 00:53:41.554
ALEX: I was very happy to see Fordy.
00:53:41.934 --> 00:53:43.294
ALEX: And Fordy was very happy to see me.
00:53:43.294 --> 00:53:45.194
ALEX: We just played on my phone the whole time and talked.
00:53:45.194 --> 00:53:45.954
VIRGINIA: Yeah, they talked.
00:53:45.954 --> 00:53:47.994
VIRGINIA: And then Sachi and I were also talking.
00:53:48.714 --> 00:53:49.654
VIRGINIA: And then we…
00:53:49.654 --> 00:53:51.074
ALEX: Yeah, I love them so much.
00:53:51.074 --> 00:53:52.074
VIRGINIA: Oh, my God.
00:53:52.074 --> 00:53:52.894
VIRGINIA: They're both the best.
00:53:52.954 --> 00:53:53.474
VIRGINIA: They're amazing.
00:53:53.794 --> 00:53:55.334
VIRGINIA: So, it was really fun to see them.
00:53:55.334 --> 00:53:57.534
VIRGINIA: But they live here where we live.
00:53:57.534 --> 00:54:02.354
VIRGINIA: So, we were not like, oh, we have to keep doing things even though we're tired.
00:54:02.354 --> 00:54:04.694
VIRGINIA: So, they went on their way.
00:54:04.694 --> 00:54:07.674
VIRGINIA: And I think they were going to try to go ride something before they left.
00:54:07.674 --> 00:54:13.434
VIRGINIA: And then Alex and I hopped on the Monterey El and went to bed because we were exhausted.
00:54:13.434 --> 00:54:14.134
VIRGINIA: Out.
00:54:14.134 --> 00:54:16.054
VIRGINIA: Even though we had our five-hour nap.
00:54:16.054 --> 00:54:17.914
<v SPEAKER_3>Oh, yeah.
00:54:17.914 --> 00:54:18.514
<v SPEAKER_3>All right.
00:54:18.514 --> 00:54:22.074
VIRGINIA: So, now we are on our next to last day, our last full day.
00:54:22.794 --> 00:54:26.674
VIRGINIA: Saturday, February 22nd, and this was an Epcot Day.
00:54:26.674 --> 00:54:27.834
ALEX: It was an Epcot Day.
00:54:27.834 --> 00:54:29.114
ALEX: We love Epcot.
00:54:29.114 --> 00:54:30.974
ALEX: So we were out the door by 10 to Epcot.
00:54:30.974 --> 00:54:32.794
ALEX: Then we went on Spaceship Earth.
00:54:32.794 --> 00:54:34.154
ALEX: This was a Lightning Lane.
00:54:34.154 --> 00:54:39.634
ALEX: Then we had a Living With The Land Lightning Lane, which was, of course, amazing as always, because I love living with the land.
00:54:39.634 --> 00:54:44.614
ALEX: Then we went to Sunshine Seasons, and we got a snack and we split a wrap.
00:54:44.614 --> 00:54:44.934
ALEX: Yeah.
00:54:44.934 --> 00:54:48.614
ALEX: And then we went to Poppy's for grilled cheese and tomato soup, which was amazing.
00:54:48.614 --> 00:54:49.194
VIRGINIA: Oh, my God.
00:54:49.194 --> 00:54:50.314
VIRGINIA: Every year, it's amazing.
00:54:50.314 --> 00:54:51.594
ALEX: Every year.
00:54:51.834 --> 00:54:52.874
VIRGINIA: You got the regular one.
00:54:52.874 --> 00:54:55.954
VIRGINIA: I got the one with the pimento cheese and bacon.
00:54:55.954 --> 00:54:57.394
VIRGINIA: Oh, my God.
00:54:57.634 --> 00:55:02.554
VIRGINIA: Especially when it's chili like this, to have a grilled cheese and a tomato soup, there's nothing better.
00:55:02.554 --> 00:55:02.814
ALEX: Yeah.
00:55:02.814 --> 00:55:05.934
ALEX: Then we went to the creation shop to look for a hoodie.
00:55:05.934 --> 00:55:06.394
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:55:06.394 --> 00:55:12.914
VIRGINIA: So I had this hoodie that I saw, and I kept looking for it everywhere.
00:55:12.914 --> 00:55:15.694
VIRGINIA: Phantasmac hoodie, like a zip up.
00:55:15.694 --> 00:55:17.354
VIRGINIA: And I saw somebody wearing it.
00:55:17.354 --> 00:55:17.954
VIRGINIA: I thought, oh.
00:55:17.954 --> 00:55:19.274
ALEX: The hunt was insane.
00:55:19.314 --> 00:55:19.694
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:55:19.694 --> 00:55:22.134
VIRGINIA: I was like, maybe I'd like to maybe get that.
00:55:22.134 --> 00:55:25.034
VIRGINIA: But I hardly ever just buy something on the spot.
00:55:25.034 --> 00:55:28.654
VIRGINIA: If I think I want something, I'm like, let me see if I still want it in a day or two.
00:55:28.654 --> 00:55:34.874
VIRGINIA: And so of course, the minute I decided, yes, I have to have that, it was nowhere to be found.
00:55:34.874 --> 00:55:38.674
VIRGINIA: So I will get it one day, maybe at Character Warehouse for a discount.
00:55:38.674 --> 00:55:40.454
VIRGINIA: But anyway, the hunt was on.
00:55:40.454 --> 00:55:45.274
VIRGINIA: So every time we passed the shop that I thought it might be in there, I'd be like, hold on, let me just go look for one second.
00:55:45.274 --> 00:55:48.094
VIRGINIA: And I'd run in and be like, nope, they're not here.
00:55:48.134 --> 00:55:49.454
VIRGINIA: And we'd move on.
00:55:49.454 --> 00:55:50.854
VIRGINIA: But it did become a hunt.
00:55:50.854 --> 00:55:52.834
ALEX: Yes, it was a hunt.
00:55:52.834 --> 00:55:56.474
ALEX: Yeah, then after that, we went to Soarin and then we took a boat to Morocco.
00:55:56.474 --> 00:56:00.254
ALEX: I went to Japan again to look for more Pokemon cards.
00:56:00.254 --> 00:56:04.914
VIRGINIA: And I went to France and Charles actually ended up joining me and I got my Frozee there.
00:56:05.694 --> 00:56:06.814
VIRGINIA: I love Frozee.
00:56:06.814 --> 00:56:08.114
VIRGINIA: Frozee is so good.
00:56:08.114 --> 00:56:17.254
VIRGINIA: But what I especially love in France is when you go to L'Isle and you get the Frozee and you get the raspberry mackerel cookie with it.
00:56:17.574 --> 00:56:20.994
VIRGINIA: The combination of those two flavors is amazing.
00:56:20.994 --> 00:56:27.934
VIRGINIA: I also grabbed Alex a chocolate hazelnut beignet, which is in other words, basically a Nutella beignet.
00:56:27.934 --> 00:56:30.474
VIRGINIA: And I got him a chocolate milk.
00:56:30.474 --> 00:56:31.754
VIRGINIA: How did you like the beignet?
00:56:31.754 --> 00:56:34.994
VIRGINIA: Because it's not anywhere close to the beignets you can get at French Quarter.
00:56:34.994 --> 00:56:36.654
ALEX: It's not that good, I'm going to be honest.
00:56:36.654 --> 00:56:37.434
VIRGINIA: It was dry, right?
00:56:37.434 --> 00:56:38.354
ALEX: Yeah, it was very dry.
00:56:38.354 --> 00:56:40.654
ALEX: And it didn't taste like Nutella, actually.
00:56:40.654 --> 00:56:43.654
ALEX: I didn't taste any chocolate, but yeah, it was nothing good.
00:56:43.954 --> 00:56:51.654
ALEX: Anyways, after that, we went to the DBC Lounge, me and dad, and you, I think you looked at shops and stuff.
00:56:51.654 --> 00:56:58.054
VIRGINIA: Yeah, I wanted to go into the UK shop and, you know, I was still holding out hope that that hoodie was going to pop up somewhere.
00:56:58.054 --> 00:57:00.014
ALEX: Always holding hope.
00:57:00.014 --> 00:57:06.894
VIRGINIA: While I was walking to meet them at the DBC Lounge, I did stop and I got the maple popcorn in Canada for the very first time.
00:57:06.894 --> 00:57:13.614
VIRGINIA: I have never gotten the maple popcorn because I assumed that it would be super, super sweet.
00:57:13.614 --> 00:57:17.634
VIRGINIA: Now, I love the caramel popcorn from Germany and it's super, super sweet.
00:57:17.634 --> 00:57:20.574
VIRGINIA: But for some reason, I was just hesitant to try that maple popcorn.
00:57:20.574 --> 00:57:21.754
VIRGINIA: But everybody talks about it.
00:57:21.754 --> 00:57:25.434
VIRGINIA: So when somebody talks about something for so long, you just eventually have to try it.
00:57:25.434 --> 00:57:26.254
VIRGINIA: So I did.
00:57:26.254 --> 00:57:30.914
VIRGINIA: And I have to say that it is not nearly as sweet as I thought it would be.
00:57:30.914 --> 00:57:33.694
VIRGINIA: And it was like crunchy and it was delightful.
00:57:33.694 --> 00:57:36.094
VIRGINIA: And I will definitely get that maple popcorn again.
00:57:36.334 --> 00:57:37.954
ALEX: Yeah.
00:57:37.954 --> 00:57:38.174
ALEX: Yeah.
00:57:38.174 --> 00:57:39.394
ALEX: Then you met us.
00:57:39.394 --> 00:57:42.694
ALEX: You met with us at the DBC Lounge.
00:57:42.694 --> 00:57:44.654
ALEX: Then we went to Connections for dinner.
00:57:44.654 --> 00:57:47.994
ALEX: And, you know, we got the General TSO.
00:57:47.994 --> 00:57:48.434
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:57:49.694 --> 00:57:51.714
VIRGINIA: I had the General TSO salad.
00:57:51.714 --> 00:57:53.174
VIRGINIA: I'm never sure how to say that.
00:57:53.174 --> 00:57:54.054
VIRGINIA: General TSO.
00:57:54.254 --> 00:57:55.894
ALEX: I just call it TSO.
00:57:55.894 --> 00:57:56.874
VIRGINIA: TSO.
00:57:56.874 --> 00:57:59.054
VIRGINIA: You're the only person in the world that calls it that.
00:57:59.154 --> 00:58:06.894
VIRGINIA: Anyway, I just, a pro tip at Connections, that General TSO salad or however you say it.
00:58:06.894 --> 00:58:07.594
ALEX: TSO.
00:58:08.314 --> 00:58:11.794
VIRGINIA: Is one of the best things at a quick service on property.
00:58:11.794 --> 00:58:13.034
VIRGINIA: It is such a good salad.
00:58:13.034 --> 00:58:13.354
ALEX: Yeah.
00:58:13.354 --> 00:58:17.114
ALEX: I got a kid's cheeseburger, I think, which was also incredible.
00:58:17.114 --> 00:58:18.694
ALEX: Just putting that out there.
00:58:18.694 --> 00:58:18.934
ALEX: Yeah.
00:58:18.934 --> 00:58:20.874
ALEX: I just didn't want to eat anything too large.
00:58:20.874 --> 00:58:22.434
ALEX: And dad had a chicken sandwich.
00:58:22.434 --> 00:58:24.854
ALEX: Then we went to Guardians again.
00:58:24.854 --> 00:58:27.354
ALEX: I think this was not, this wasn't standby.
00:58:27.354 --> 00:58:28.194
ALEX: No, this was Lightning Lane.
00:58:28.974 --> 00:58:31.074
ALEX: We got Disco Inferno this time.
00:58:31.074 --> 00:58:33.254
ALEX: I think that's the one that we keep getting as well.
00:58:33.254 --> 00:58:40.474
ALEX: But yeah, then dad went back to the resort, and you and me went to Hollywood Studios, because I wanted to park out there.
00:58:40.694 --> 00:58:42.214
VIRGINIA: And dad thought we were crazy.
00:58:42.214 --> 00:58:43.134
ALEX: No, we were not.
00:58:43.134 --> 00:58:45.114
ALEX: We were Disney crazy, yes.
00:58:45.114 --> 00:58:46.014
VIRGINIA: That's true.
00:58:46.014 --> 00:58:47.354
VIRGINIA: It had just been such a long day.
00:58:47.354 --> 00:58:47.994
VIRGINIA: He was tired.
00:58:47.994 --> 00:58:48.734
VIRGINIA: Am I wrong?
00:58:48.994 --> 00:58:52.134
VIRGINIA: And am I wrong?
00:58:52.134 --> 00:58:56.974
VIRGINIA: There was very limited time to get over there and ride anything before the park was going to close.
00:58:57.014 --> 00:58:59.674
VIRGINIA: So that's kind of also why he thought we were crazy.
00:58:59.674 --> 00:59:01.674
VIRGINIA: But we went over there.
00:59:01.674 --> 00:59:05.074
VIRGINIA: We did a single rider for Rise of the Resistance, which we got on really fast.
00:59:05.074 --> 00:59:12.734
VIRGINIA: We had never done that before, but we walked into the line at 809 and by 815, we were with our groups for interrogation.
00:59:12.734 --> 00:59:14.434
ALEX: We got different groups, but it's fine.
00:59:14.434 --> 00:59:15.074
VIRGINIA: Yeah, that's fine.
00:59:15.074 --> 00:59:17.134
VIRGINIA: That's what you have to expect when you do single rider.
00:59:17.134 --> 00:59:18.234
ALEX: Yeah.
00:59:18.234 --> 00:59:20.514
ALEX: After, cause I, my ride finished first.
00:59:20.514 --> 00:59:22.634
ALEX: Like my group was first before hers.
00:59:22.634 --> 00:59:26.614
ALEX: And then I was waiting for her after I got off the ride.
00:59:26.974 --> 00:59:29.914
ALEX: And then she walked up to me and was like, Oh my God, you are alive.
00:59:29.914 --> 00:59:31.394
<v SPEAKER_3>You made it.
00:59:31.394 --> 00:59:33.634
ALEX: I didn't think you were going to make it in time.
00:59:33.654 --> 00:59:34.934
ALEX: I'm so happy.
00:59:34.934 --> 00:59:35.714
ALEX: Yeah.
00:59:35.714 --> 00:59:42.414
ALEX: Then we sprinted across the Rock and Rollercoaster for a Lightning Lane that we had, which was, I think this was the last time that we went on it.
00:59:42.414 --> 00:59:43.274
ALEX: Yeah.
00:59:43.274 --> 00:59:45.334
ALEX: Then we were in line by 838.
00:59:45.334 --> 00:59:47.614
ALEX: And then we made it to Tower of Terror by 858.
00:59:47.614 --> 00:59:49.534
ALEX: We were sprinting.
00:59:49.534 --> 00:59:51.594
VIRGINIA: That's because the park closed at nine.
00:59:51.594 --> 00:59:56.234
VIRGINIA: And so at 858, we had just barely made it into the line.
00:59:56.314 --> 00:59:56.994
ALEX: Worth it.
00:59:56.994 --> 00:59:58.094
VIRGINIA: To be able to ride it.
00:59:58.094 --> 01:00:03.574
VIRGINIA: Because if you get into line before the park closes, they let you go even no matter how long the line is.
01:00:03.574 --> 01:00:04.794
VIRGINIA: As long as you're in line.
01:00:04.794 --> 01:00:07.354
ALEX: Then this is our last day.
01:00:07.354 --> 01:00:08.514
VIRGINIA: Our departure day.
01:00:08.514 --> 01:00:12.794
ALEX: This is the worst day of the year for me, other than the end of Christmas.
01:00:12.794 --> 01:00:16.474
ALEX: But yeah, Bell Services picked up our stuff.
01:00:16.474 --> 01:00:19.514
ALEX: Then we had breakfast at the Crystal Palace, which is very nice.
01:00:19.514 --> 01:00:21.534
ALEX: They had really good food.
01:00:21.534 --> 01:00:23.234
VIRGINIA: Churro waffles.
01:00:23.234 --> 01:00:25.854
ALEX: Yeah, I kind of wish I had gotten that, but I never had the chance.
01:00:26.454 --> 01:00:28.134
VIRGINIA: Wait, why didn't you get any?
01:00:28.134 --> 01:00:29.774
<v SPEAKER_3>I couldn't find any.
01:00:29.774 --> 01:00:30.674
VIRGINIA: What are you talking about?
01:00:30.674 --> 01:00:31.454
VIRGINIA: There were so many.
01:00:31.454 --> 01:00:33.494
ALEX: Well, I did, but I didn't want any.
01:00:33.494 --> 01:00:33.954
VIRGINIA: Okay.
01:00:33.954 --> 01:00:34.834
ALEX: I wish I got them.
01:00:34.834 --> 01:00:35.234
ALEX: Okay.
01:00:35.234 --> 01:00:35.834
ALEX: I wish I did.
01:00:35.834 --> 01:00:37.634
VIRGINIA: They lived up to the hype, I'll say that.
01:00:37.634 --> 01:00:44.074
VIRGINIA: And then they also, drum roll please, had shrimp and grits on that buffet.
01:00:44.074 --> 01:00:45.614
VIRGINIA: It was like a dream buffet.
01:00:45.614 --> 01:00:48.574
VIRGINIA: I will definitely be back to Crystal Palace.
01:00:48.574 --> 01:00:49.574
VIRGINIA: The food was good.
01:00:49.574 --> 01:00:50.854
VIRGINIA: The service was good.
01:00:50.854 --> 01:00:58.154
VIRGINIA: I wasn't really that excited to see the Pooh characters, just because I like Winning The Pooh, but I'm not crazy about them.
01:00:58.154 --> 01:00:59.274
VIRGINIA: But they were very cute.
01:00:59.274 --> 01:01:02.874
VIRGINIA: And yeah, I think highly worth it to do Crystal Palace.
01:01:02.874 --> 01:01:05.054
VIRGINIA: So that's my two cents.
01:01:05.054 --> 01:01:06.914
VIRGINIA: After that, what did we do next?
01:01:06.914 --> 01:01:08.734
ALEX: After that, we went to Country Bears.
01:01:08.734 --> 01:01:13.414
ALEX: And because they had their new stuff going on there, had new music and new costumes and stuff.
01:01:13.414 --> 01:01:15.854
ALEX: And did you like it?
01:01:15.854 --> 01:01:17.414
ALEX: No.
01:01:17.934 --> 01:01:18.634
ALEX: I'm serious.
01:01:18.634 --> 01:01:19.534
ALEX: It wasn't it.
01:01:19.814 --> 01:01:22.194
ALEX: That is not my Country Bears, mom.
01:01:22.194 --> 01:01:23.874
ALEX: They had no blood on the floor.
01:01:24.014 --> 01:01:25.194
<v SPEAKER_3>It was the best song.
01:01:25.194 --> 01:01:26.414
VIRGINIA: Blood on the saddle.
01:01:26.414 --> 01:01:28.754
ALEX: Blood on the saddle.
01:01:30.794 --> 01:01:32.534
VIRGINIA: Hashtag not my Country Bears.
01:01:32.534 --> 01:01:33.174
ALEX: Not my Country Bears.
01:01:33.174 --> 01:01:34.234
ALEX: No, it was not.
01:01:34.234 --> 01:01:39.894
ALEX: They had all these bougie new songs from Zootopia.
01:01:39.894 --> 01:01:40.934
ALEX: And I hated it.
01:01:40.934 --> 01:01:42.154
<v SPEAKER_3>I was like, oh, God.
01:01:42.154 --> 01:01:42.514
VIRGINIA: Okay.
01:01:42.514 --> 01:01:43.494
VIRGINIA: I disagree.
01:01:43.494 --> 01:01:44.894
VIRGINIA: I enjoy it.
01:01:44.894 --> 01:01:46.314
VIRGINIA: I like the new music.
01:01:46.314 --> 01:01:47.814
VIRGINIA: I like the new costumes.
01:01:47.814 --> 01:01:49.934
VIRGINIA: I enjoy it.
01:01:49.934 --> 01:01:50.774
ALEX: Not my Country Bears.
01:01:51.374 --> 01:01:52.154
ALEX: No.
01:01:52.154 --> 01:01:53.554
ALEX: They got to sing actual country songs.
01:01:53.874 --> 01:01:55.734
ALEX: Those don't count, Mom.
01:01:55.734 --> 01:01:56.374
VIRGINIA: Okay.
01:01:56.374 --> 01:01:57.554
ALEX: They're called Country Bears for a reason.
01:01:57.554 --> 01:01:59.834
VIRGINIA: You're allowed to have your opinion and I have mine.
01:01:59.834 --> 01:02:00.834
VIRGINIA: I enjoyed it.
01:02:00.834 --> 01:02:02.314
VIRGINIA: I am happy with the changes.
01:02:02.314 --> 01:02:03.854
ALEX: I have to hate everybody.
01:02:04.274 --> 01:02:07.814
ALEX: If you're listening right now and you're with me, we got to like fix this somehow.
01:02:07.814 --> 01:02:09.174
ALEX: I'm just saying this.
01:02:09.174 --> 01:02:09.894
ALEX: We got to fix.
01:02:09.894 --> 01:02:11.294
ALEX: Their outfits were too shiny.
01:02:11.294 --> 01:02:13.554
ALEX: I know I sound old, but they were way too shiny.
01:02:13.554 --> 01:02:14.374
VIRGINIA: Okay.
01:02:14.374 --> 01:02:14.794
VIRGINIA: All right.
01:02:14.794 --> 01:02:15.534
VIRGINIA: Moving on.
01:02:15.534 --> 01:02:20.474
VIRGINIA: After Country Bears, we went and got Dole Whips because we had not had a Dole Whip.
01:02:21.754 --> 01:02:29.034
VIRGINIA: We had one on the day we walked past the Polynesian Tower, but we needed one more before we left.
01:02:29.034 --> 01:02:33.734
VIRGINIA: Then we had a final Lightning Lane, I think, or was it Standby?
01:02:33.734 --> 01:02:36.674
VIRGINIA: I can't remember, for Tiana.
01:02:36.674 --> 01:02:38.254
VIRGINIA: Had to do that one more time.
01:02:38.254 --> 01:02:39.314
ALEX: Amazing.
01:02:39.314 --> 01:02:53.394
VIRGINIA: Then on the way back from Tiana to walk towards the front of the park, that is when I saw my dear friend, Elizabeth, who has been on the podcast a couple of times, and this was the first time actually that we met in person.
01:02:53.394 --> 01:03:02.374
VIRGINIA: It was just so fun to see her and to see her daughter, and her cousin, and everybody.
01:03:02.374 --> 01:03:04.194
VIRGINIA: We took a photo.
01:03:04.194 --> 01:03:12.834
VIRGINIA: She had a little gift for me of some Bath and Body Works, hand sanitizer, the Little Mermaid themed one, and some lip balm.
01:03:12.834 --> 01:03:14.474
VIRGINIA: It was just so sweet.
01:03:15.054 --> 01:03:18.894
VIRGINIA: You can see that in my haul video.
01:03:18.894 --> 01:03:19.734
VIRGINIA: That was just really cool.
01:03:20.194 --> 01:03:25.934
VIRGINIA: I was getting worried that we weren't going to have time to see each other, even though I knew we were both in a Magic Kingdom that day.
01:03:25.934 --> 01:03:27.834
VIRGINIA: But we had to leave to get to the airport.
01:03:27.834 --> 01:03:30.414
VIRGINIA: And I was like, if I don't see her now, I'm not going to see her.
01:03:30.414 --> 01:03:32.574
VIRGINIA: And then, lo and behold, there she was.
01:03:32.574 --> 01:03:32.994
ALEX: Yeah.
01:03:32.994 --> 01:03:36.254
ALEX: And her daughter also asked to be on the podcast.
01:03:36.254 --> 01:03:36.534
VIRGINIA: Yes.
01:03:36.754 --> 01:03:37.454
VIRGINIA: And she was.
01:03:37.454 --> 01:03:38.514
VIRGINIA: I interviewed her recently.
01:03:38.514 --> 01:03:43.854
VIRGINIA: So everyone will hear her episode next week and get to hear her daughter, Hope.
01:03:43.914 --> 01:03:46.174
ALEX: And honestly, that surprised me.
01:03:46.174 --> 01:03:47.414
ALEX: And I was like, what?
01:03:47.414 --> 01:03:50.214
<v SPEAKER_3>Wait, she listens to the podcast.
01:03:50.214 --> 01:03:51.434
VIRGINIA: I thought it was very sweet.
01:03:51.434 --> 01:03:52.634
VIRGINIA: I was happy to have her on.
01:03:52.854 --> 01:03:58.394
VIRGINIA: I will sometimes, you know, if a kid wants to be on, they hop on at the end of their parents interview.
01:03:58.394 --> 01:03:59.934
VIRGINIA: And it's totally fun.
01:03:59.934 --> 01:04:01.214
VIRGINIA: All right, let's wrap this up.
01:04:01.214 --> 01:04:07.374
VIRGINIA: So after that, I was hoping I'd get to see Jeanette because she was also there that day, but we missed each other.
01:04:07.374 --> 01:04:09.074
VIRGINIA: She was heading back to Tiana's.
01:04:09.074 --> 01:04:14.934
VIRGINIA: I think at the same time, we were heading to the front of the park, so we didn't see each other, but that's fine because Jeanette lives here.
01:04:14.934 --> 01:04:17.574
VIRGINIA: In fact, I just saw her today.
01:04:17.574 --> 01:04:20.094
VIRGINIA: But after that, we went back to the Grand Floridian.
01:04:20.094 --> 01:04:22.074
ALEX: Which is spelled girlfriend.
01:04:22.074 --> 01:04:24.714
VIRGINIA: No, I have it abbreviated in our notes as GF.
01:04:24.714 --> 01:04:27.574
VIRGINIA: That means Grand Floridian, not girlfriend.
01:04:27.574 --> 01:04:29.294
VIRGINIA: Went back to the Grand Floridian.
01:04:29.294 --> 01:04:33.394
ALEX: Grandfather.
01:04:33.394 --> 01:04:35.394
VIRGINIA: Anyway, we went back to the Grand Floridian.
01:04:35.394 --> 01:04:37.354
VIRGINIA: We got our stuff from Bell Services.
01:04:37.354 --> 01:04:38.834
VIRGINIA: We took a lift to NCO.
01:04:38.834 --> 01:04:40.094
VIRGINIA: The flight left on time.
01:04:40.634 --> 01:04:41.994
VIRGINIA: We made it home.
01:04:41.994 --> 01:04:44.634
VIRGINIA: Our little Walter was waiting for us.
01:04:44.634 --> 01:04:45.974
VIRGINIA: He was so happy to see us.
01:04:46.034 --> 01:04:46.874
VIRGINIA: It's adorable.
01:04:46.874 --> 01:04:47.874
VIRGINIA: Nanci was here.
01:04:47.874 --> 01:04:50.914
VIRGINIA: Nanci was puppy-sitting for Walter.
01:04:52.314 --> 01:04:53.874
VIRGINIA: And her dog, Robot, was here.
01:04:53.874 --> 01:04:56.974
VIRGINIA: So Walter gets a little puppy friend, too.
01:04:56.974 --> 01:04:57.874
VIRGINIA: A little frenemy.
01:04:57.874 --> 01:04:58.714
ALEX: His cousin.
01:04:58.714 --> 01:04:59.394
VIRGINIA: His cousin.
01:04:59.394 --> 01:05:01.594
VIRGINIA: Yes, his little cousin.
01:05:01.594 --> 01:05:04.574
VIRGINIA: So anyway, it was just a great trip.
01:05:04.574 --> 01:05:06.154
VIRGINIA: We always have a nice trip in February.
01:05:06.154 --> 01:05:08.854
VIRGINIA: I will say that the weather was very up and down this time.
01:05:08.974 --> 01:05:11.274
VIRGINIA: It did get very chilly.
01:05:11.274 --> 01:05:14.094
VIRGINIA: And we've had February's where it wasn't that chilly.
01:05:14.094 --> 01:05:18.274
VIRGINIA: This week went very fast for me.
01:05:18.274 --> 01:05:19.334
VIRGINIA: I don't know about you.
01:05:19.334 --> 01:05:23.134
VIRGINIA: Like it felt like it sped by.
01:05:23.134 --> 01:05:28.354
ALEX: It felt slow at the beginning, but then it like really picked up the pace near the end for me.
01:05:28.354 --> 01:05:29.334
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
01:05:29.334 --> 01:05:38.574
VIRGINIA: So as of right now, I have literally just this morning, actually booked our February resorts.
01:05:38.574 --> 01:05:39.614
ALEX: Oh, yeah.
01:05:39.614 --> 01:05:45.114
VIRGINIA: So as of right now, I've got our home resort, Wilderness Lodge in Copper Creek.
01:05:45.114 --> 01:05:48.854
VIRGINIA: But we are trying to try every resort.
01:05:48.854 --> 01:05:59.074
VIRGINIA: So when we hit our seven month mark, then I will try to see what else is available because we have not yet stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
01:05:59.074 --> 01:06:03.874
VIRGINIA: And then, of course, we haven't stayed at the Polynesian Tower yet.
01:06:04.974 --> 01:06:10.994
VIRGINIA: Alex and Charles have not stayed at the Boardwalk, and Alex and Charles have not stayed at Riviera.
01:06:10.994 --> 01:06:13.214
VIRGINIA: So, I don't know, we'll see.
01:06:13.214 --> 01:06:14.614
VIRGINIA: Maybe Animal Kingdom Lodge.
01:06:14.614 --> 01:06:15.974
VIRGINIA: Do you want to try for that?
01:06:15.974 --> 01:06:16.814
ALEX: Yeah, I'll do that.
01:06:16.814 --> 01:06:17.694
ALEX: We haven't been there yet.
01:06:17.694 --> 01:06:18.534
ALEX: We were going to.
01:06:18.534 --> 01:06:19.034
VIRGINIA: I know.
01:06:19.034 --> 01:06:25.314
VIRGINIA: And if we did that, we could get a room with a Savannah view and have giraffes right outside of our room.
01:06:25.314 --> 01:06:26.594
<v SPEAKER_3>That would be awesome.
01:06:26.594 --> 01:06:27.174
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
01:06:27.174 --> 01:06:28.014
VIRGINIA: So we'll see what happens.
01:06:28.014 --> 01:06:28.794
VIRGINIA: But that's booked.
01:06:28.794 --> 01:06:31.454
VIRGINIA: And then besides that, we don't have any other trips on the book.
01:06:31.714 --> 01:06:40.334
VIRGINIA: But Alex knows this, but I am always on the hunt for a good deal on a flight.
01:06:40.334 --> 01:06:53.394
VIRGINIA: We have annual passes, and if the timing works out and I find a good deal on a flight and we're both available to do it, then maybe we could do like a little like spontaneous weekend or something.
01:06:53.394 --> 01:06:54.754
ALEX: Yeah, that'd be nice.
01:06:54.754 --> 01:06:55.914
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
01:06:55.914 --> 01:06:56.474
VIRGINIA: All right.
01:06:56.474 --> 01:06:59.114
VIRGINIA: Alex, this has been fun.
01:06:59.194 --> 01:07:00.094
ALEX: It's been fun, yes.
01:07:00.654 --> 01:07:04.834
VIRGINIA: I always like interviewing with you and the listeners love you.
01:07:04.834 --> 01:07:05.994
<v SPEAKER_3>I know.
01:07:07.854 --> 01:07:08.574
VIRGINIA: All right.
01:07:08.574 --> 01:07:09.274
VIRGINIA: That's it.
01:07:09.274 --> 01:07:10.714
ALEX: Thank you guys for listening.
01:07:10.714 --> 01:07:11.814
<v SPEAKER_3>All right.
01:07:11.814 --> 01:07:12.714
VIRGINIA: Talk to you later.
01:07:12.994 --> 01:07:13.954
VIRGINIA: I mean, I'll talk to you in a minute.
01:07:13.954 --> 01:07:15.194
VIRGINIA: We're gonna go have a movie night.
01:07:15.194 --> 01:07:15.574
ALEX: Yeah.
01:07:15.574 --> 01:07:16.714
ALEX: We're gonna watch Sweeney Todd.
01:07:16.714 --> 01:07:16.934
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
01:07:16.934 --> 01:07:20.314
VIRGINIA: Sweeney Todd with Johnny Depp because Alex of school just did Sweeney Todd.
01:07:20.314 --> 01:07:21.054
ALEX: And we watched it.
01:07:21.054 --> 01:07:21.814
ALEX: It was amazing.
01:07:21.814 --> 01:07:22.494
VIRGINIA: Amazing.
01:07:22.494 --> 01:07:25.314
VIRGINIA: And now he wants to watch the one with Johnny Depp.
01:07:25.314 --> 01:07:27.074
VIRGINIA: So that's the plan for tonight.
01:07:27.074 --> 01:07:29.014
ALEX: Anyways, I love you.
01:07:29.014 --> 01:07:29.554
VIRGINIA: I love you.
01:07:31.874 --> 01:07:36.234
VIRGINIA: Thank you so much to Alex for gracing the show with your presence once again.
01:07:36.234 --> 01:07:39.314
VIRGINIA: You are a star and I'm proud to be your mom.
01:07:39.314 --> 01:07:44.754
VIRGINIA: As a reminder, I am currently in the process of trying to fill out my interview calendar for the remainder of the year.
01:07:44.754 --> 01:07:52.234
VIRGINIA: Specifically, I have one or two more slots for people who will be traveling in June and I would love to get those locked in in the coming weeks.
01:07:52.234 --> 01:07:55.474
VIRGINIA: After that, I'll be looking for anyone traveling in July and beyond.
01:07:55.834 --> 01:08:08.314
VIRGINIA: So if you or a friend or family member have a trip coming up or if you're a travel agent and you have a client who has a trip coming up who might make a good guest, please have the person submit through the website which is whereilongtobepodcast.com.
01:08:09.594 --> 01:08:13.734
VIRGINIA: Thank you so much for being here and keep daydreaming about where you long to be.
