Virginia and Alex are back and reporting on their recent mother/son trip to Walt Disney World. There were some things that did not go according to plan (a flight cancellation and dining changes come to mind), but other things went perfectly according to plan. By the end of the trip, they successfully completed a four park challenge and were looking forward to another chance in the future to share some more one on one time in Disney together.

  • Trip Dates: June 6-9, 2024

Transcript Below

00:00:12.273 --> 00:00:15.873
VIRGINIA: Welcome to Where I Long To Be, a Magical Trip Report Podcast.

00:00:16.153 --> 00:00:18.353
VIRGINIA: My name is Virginia, and I am your host.

00:00:18.813 --> 00:00:23.913
VIRGINIA: As with the pre-trip episode, we did have some trouble with our connection to be able to do two separate tracks.

00:00:23.933 --> 00:00:26.613
VIRGINIA: So Alex and I had to record together on the same microphone again.

00:00:27.033 --> 00:00:30.993
VIRGINIA: But this go-around, Alex was more used to the setup, so it's definitely better.

00:00:31.293 --> 00:00:35.553
VIRGINIA: I just want to mention it for those of you who are audiophiles and can hear the difference.

00:00:36.173 --> 00:00:43.613
VIRGINIA: Also, again, in this episode, we do discuss two things that don't exist anymore, Genie Plus and the Nutella waffles from Sleepy Hollow.

00:00:44.033 --> 00:00:49.133
VIRGINIA: So don't forget our trip was June 6th through 9th, and they totally existed at the time that we recorded.

00:00:49.833 --> 00:00:56.193
VIRGINIA: Finally, before we get started, I wanted to call attention to the fact that a couple of the links in the show notes are Amazon Associates links.

00:00:56.593 --> 00:01:01.433
VIRGINIA: I was approved for the Amazon Associates program, which is sort of the gateway program for influencers.

00:01:01.713 --> 00:01:11.573
VIRGINIA: So while I await approval to get a storefront going for all of my favorite Disney and travel recommendations, I am able to create individual links for items I recommend on the show.

00:01:12.033 --> 00:01:20.513
VIRGINIA: By using a link, it won't cost you anything extra, but you are supporting the show by helping me to potentially earn a little bit of commission for my recommendations.

00:01:20.833 --> 00:01:26.173
VIRGINIA: So I will always try to make a note of that in the show notes if it is a link of that nature.

00:01:27.173 --> 00:01:33.313
VIRGINIA: If you are interested in being a trip report guest on the show, I am currently looking for people traveling in early 2025.

00:01:33.693 --> 00:01:38.933
VIRGINIA: So if you already have a trip on the books, please reach out using the link in the show notes to be considered.

00:01:39.273 --> 00:01:42.513
VIRGINIA: The earlier you reach out, the more likely you'll be selected.

00:01:43.353 --> 00:01:45.813
VIRGINIA: That's all for today in housekeeping.

00:01:46.013 --> 00:01:47.593
VIRGINIA: Let's get into this episode.

00:01:47.613 --> 00:01:51.873
VIRGINIA: And I hope that you enjoy my chat with Alex about our mother-son trip.

00:01:53.693 --> 00:01:54.773
VIRGINIA: Welcome back, Alex.

00:01:55.633 --> 00:01:57.333
ALEX: Thank you for having me again.

00:01:58.513 --> 00:01:59.413
VIRGINIA: Long time no see.

00:01:59.633 --> 00:02:00.813
ALEX: Long time no see indeed.

00:02:02.773 --> 00:02:03.273
VIRGINIA: All right.

00:02:03.793 --> 00:02:05.513
VIRGINIA: So we have a lot to talk about here.

00:02:05.913 --> 00:02:13.413
VIRGINIA: We are going to be reporting on our big mother-son trip that we did June 6th through 9th.

00:02:14.033 --> 00:02:15.073
VIRGINIA: And it was a whirlwind.

00:02:15.273 --> 00:02:23.573
VIRGINIA: So before we get started, I want to just let everyone know that our flight was canceled for this trip.

00:02:24.233 --> 00:02:26.553
VIRGINIA: So it was crazy.

00:02:26.573 --> 00:02:36.093
VIRGINIA: So Wednesday, June the 5th, I was at work in-person that day and I saw a notification that my flight was canceled.

00:02:36.273 --> 00:02:39.773
VIRGINIA: And it was canceled supposedly due to weather.

00:02:40.393 --> 00:02:49.453
VIRGINIA: Now there was no weather in the New York area and it was scheduled to rain the following day, but nothing that should have stopped a flight.

00:02:49.473 --> 00:03:02.333
VIRGINIA: So I don't know whether it was weather where the plane that was going to be coming into New York was coming from or what, but I had a little bit of a panic attack at work.

00:03:02.393 --> 00:03:12.853
VIRGINIA: Luckily, no one noticed, but I was able to kind of excuse myself and go off to a spot where I could kind of have quiet and look at my options.

00:03:13.453 --> 00:03:16.333
VIRGINIA: None of the options that JetBlue was offering were good.

00:03:16.773 --> 00:03:26.493
VIRGINIA: They were either leaving like much later that day on Thursday, basically like taking out a whole day, or not even until the following day.

00:03:26.553 --> 00:03:31.513
VIRGINIA: So I ended up canceling the flight entirely and getting a refund for it.

00:03:31.733 --> 00:03:41.473
VIRGINIA: So luckily, my everyday credit card is the Sapphire card through Chase, and it helps me earn rewards that I can use for travel.

00:03:41.553 --> 00:03:45.633
VIRGINIA: So on lots of different airlines, hotels, that sort of thing.

00:03:45.673 --> 00:04:00.173
VIRGINIA: So I went into there to see how many points I had had plenty of points, and I was able to luckily get us a last-minute flight on Delta that was leaving maybe 20 minutes later than our originally scheduled flight.

00:04:01.013 --> 00:04:02.073
VIRGINIA: Maybe a little bit more than that.

00:04:02.093 --> 00:04:02.673
VIRGINIA: I can't remember.

00:04:02.713 --> 00:04:06.033
VIRGINIA: But anyway, I was able to get all of that set up.

00:04:06.093 --> 00:04:09.193
VIRGINIA: I had plenty of points, and it's good because it was so last-minute.

00:04:09.453 --> 00:04:15.513
VIRGINIA: If I had paid cash for it, it was going to be like $300 more than the original flights that we had paid for.

00:04:15.653 --> 00:04:18.733
VIRGINIA: So it worked out.

00:04:18.733 --> 00:04:24.633
VIRGINIA: The flight was scheduled to leave the next day, Thursday, June 6th at 7:21 AM.

00:04:24.953 --> 00:04:26.593
VIRGINIA: So thank goodness for that.

00:04:26.613 --> 00:04:30.013
VIRGINIA: So let's get into all of the details.

00:04:30.133 --> 00:04:33.293
VIRGINIA: So Thursday, June 6th, I'm going to turn it over to you, Alex.

00:04:33.313 --> 00:04:36.373
VIRGINIA: Tell us, walk us through our day.

00:04:36.393 --> 00:04:44.773
ALEX: Okay, so our flight left on time, landed at around 9.45 ish.

00:04:46.013 --> 00:04:51.833
ALEX: Then we took a lift, we called the lift to Pop Century, and we arrived just before 11 AM.

00:04:52.673 --> 00:05:00.013
ALEX: And after we had gotten settled, we sat down for a moment to get our stuff ready with bail services.

00:05:01.313 --> 00:05:06.293
VIRGINIA: So, after we got ourselves all together, we got on the Skyliner and we headed over to Epcot.

00:05:06.313 --> 00:05:11.453
VIRGINIA: But before we got to Epcot, we decided to stop at Le Petit Café to get a snack, didn't we?

00:05:11.833 --> 00:05:12.473
ALEX: We did.

00:05:13.193 --> 00:05:17.493
ALEX: And I will admit, I had like a caramel macchiato or something.

00:05:18.093 --> 00:05:20.793
ALEX: And it was probably one of the best coffees I've ever had.

00:05:21.613 --> 00:05:28.573
ALEX: I mean, maybe not as good as the peanut butter coffee at Gideon's, which now reminds me we didn't get that.

00:05:28.593 --> 00:05:29.133
VIRGINIA: I know.

00:05:29.493 --> 00:05:30.293
ALEX: Well, we did not.

00:05:30.613 --> 00:05:33.953
ALEX: And that just makes me upset because I was like, we got to do it this time.

00:05:34.493 --> 00:05:38.813
ALEX: Anyways, we even had some really incredible banana bread.

00:05:38.833 --> 00:05:42.453
ALEX: We split it and it had like incredible chocolate chunks in it.

00:05:42.893 --> 00:05:46.913
ALEX: And I got the chocolate, the little like chocolate coin on top.

00:05:47.593 --> 00:05:50.733
ALEX: But it was so good because I don't usually like banana bread.

00:05:51.113 --> 00:05:53.713
ALEX: But that was quite enjoyable.

00:05:54.393 --> 00:05:56.813
ALEX: And my mother over here decided to get...

00:05:57.293 --> 00:06:04.953
VIRGINIA: I got an almond cold brew with almond milk and whipped cream because I do like to try to limit the dairy.

00:06:05.073 --> 00:06:08.313
VIRGINIA: So I did the almond milk, but I can't say no to whipped cream.

00:06:09.133 --> 00:06:11.393
ALEX: Mine didn't come with whipped cream.

00:06:11.413 --> 00:06:15.053
ALEX: So I had to go back up there and be like, hey, can I get some whipped cream, please?

00:06:15.813 --> 00:06:17.713
ALEX: And I got whipped cream and I ate the whipped cream.

00:06:17.733 --> 00:06:19.533
ALEX: And it was actually really good, thick whipped cream.

00:06:20.733 --> 00:06:26.153
VIRGINIA: And before we left Rivera, I did pop into the little store and they had some new DVC merchandise.

00:06:26.313 --> 00:06:35.733
VIRGINIA: And I was so tempted to go ahead and get some stuff because I didn't know if I would be back in a DVC resort before we left from the trip.

00:06:35.853 --> 00:06:41.133
VIRGINIA: But I really didn't want to buy anything like initially before we even set foot in the park.

00:06:41.153 --> 00:06:42.353
VIRGINIA: So I didn't do it.

00:06:42.393 --> 00:06:44.873
VIRGINIA: And now I don't have any of the new DVC merchandise.

00:06:44.933 --> 00:06:46.793
VIRGINIA: So oh, well.

00:06:47.513 --> 00:06:50.593
VIRGINIA: But then we hop back on the Skyliner and it was off to Epcot.

00:06:51.213 --> 00:06:52.373
ALEX: It was off to Epcot indeed.

00:06:52.793 --> 00:07:00.793
ALEX: So we arrived at Epcot and we decided that our first ride we were going to go on, since it's like getting remodeled or something is test track.

00:07:00.913 --> 00:07:06.233
ALEX: We had a lightning lane for that because we already knew like, oh, it's changing soon.

00:07:06.253 --> 00:07:07.553
ALEX: We got to try.

00:07:08.473 --> 00:07:13.953
VIRGINIA: And I should note that we bought Genie Plus three out of the four days.

00:07:14.093 --> 00:07:16.313
VIRGINIA: The only day we didn't buy it was our last day.

00:07:16.333 --> 00:07:19.573
VIRGINIA: So we were using Genie Plus this day.

00:07:20.513 --> 00:07:20.793
ALEX: Yes.

00:07:21.713 --> 00:07:26.153
ALEX: And you have no clue how much I studied for test track.

00:07:26.733 --> 00:07:30.793
ALEX: I looked up every single method you could use in test track to get the top score.

00:07:31.373 --> 00:07:38.373
ALEX: I didn't get the top score, but I got like 13 points below it.

00:07:38.413 --> 00:07:44.293
ALEX: I got like 219 and I was proud of it, but I was like, I could do better.

00:07:44.313 --> 00:07:46.013
ALEX: I know I could do better.

00:07:46.033 --> 00:07:48.513
ALEX: There's got to be something there that might have messed me up.

00:07:48.933 --> 00:07:55.113
ALEX: I think it might have been the shape of the car, but I don't want to blame anybody, but come on, mom, why?

00:07:57.213 --> 00:08:06.753
VIRGINIA: Wait, I didn't have anything to do with the design of this car, so I don't know why you're looking in my direction because I let you do your thing and I stood back and I watched.

00:08:06.853 --> 00:08:13.293
ALEX: Yeah, it was your presence, the bad luck, it was just there because you have a history of not making good cars.

00:08:13.633 --> 00:08:19.993
ALEX: In fact, you literally chose the default option for some reason this time and that got fourth place.

00:08:20.113 --> 00:08:20.713
VIRGINIA: No, no, no.

00:08:20.793 --> 00:08:21.953
VIRGINIA: Okay, so here's what happened.

00:08:22.613 --> 00:08:33.033
VIRGINIA: When you're in a party of two, you go to the same design station, so only one person really can design unless you're doing it collaboratively, which I don't really care about doing.

00:08:33.473 --> 00:08:44.373
VIRGINIA: So I stand back and I let Alex do his thing and then when you get up to actually get on the ride, you're supposed to scan your magic band or your ticket or whatever so that it knows what design you made.

00:08:44.873 --> 00:08:47.953
VIRGINIA: So he, of course, scanned his so that it had his design in the system.

00:08:48.593 --> 00:08:58.853
VIRGINIA: But if you didn't do any designing yourself, you can scan your own magic band or ticket and it will give you a system made car to use so that you have one that's like yours.

00:08:59.393 --> 00:09:00.393
ALEX: It's not a good car.

00:09:00.493 --> 00:09:01.753
ALEX: It wasn't a good car.

00:09:01.773 --> 00:09:02.193
VIRGINIA: You know what?

00:09:02.213 --> 00:09:03.213
VIRGINIA: I had no control over it.

00:09:03.213 --> 00:09:04.373
VIRGINIA: I scanned, I got a car.

00:09:04.733 --> 00:09:06.593
VIRGINIA: At the end of the day, did I care?

00:09:06.613 --> 00:09:07.633
ALEX: The machine rigged you.

00:09:07.733 --> 00:09:08.653
VIRGINIA: No, I didn't care.

00:09:08.673 --> 00:09:10.613
ALEX: I cared, kind of.

00:09:11.553 --> 00:09:19.513
ALEX: Anyways, so after that, my mom went to a creation shop and I decided to go to Club Cool for some of that Beverly.

00:09:19.913 --> 00:09:20.813
ALEX: I love Beverly.

00:09:22.813 --> 00:09:23.453
VIRGINIA: No, you do not.

00:09:23.553 --> 00:09:24.233
ALEX: Yes, I do.

00:09:24.493 --> 00:09:26.413
ALEX: I actually do have a method.

00:09:27.033 --> 00:09:34.453
ALEX: I don't actually want to share it, but I'll just tell everybody, I do have a method that makes it so it loses 50% of its taste.

00:09:34.933 --> 00:09:37.273
ALEX: And if you know, you know, because it's quite simple.

00:09:37.633 --> 00:09:42.493
ALEX: But mom, don't share it because I see you have had to come to the mic and I don't know.

00:09:43.073 --> 00:09:46.933
VIRGINIA: What I want to say is, Alex, you're 13 years old, about to be 14 in a week.

00:09:47.733 --> 00:09:50.793
VIRGINIA: And you think that nobody knows this so-called method.

00:09:50.873 --> 00:09:59.073
VIRGINIA: But I'm here to tell you, as someone who looks at my podcast stats, most of my listeners are women in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

00:09:59.073 --> 00:10:02.973
VIRGINIA: And every single one of them knows about the hold your nose method of.

00:10:05.613 --> 00:10:07.393
VIRGINIA: So it's not a secret.

00:10:07.713 --> 00:10:08.593
VIRGINIA: But go on.

00:10:10.453 --> 00:10:11.873
ALEX: I thought I was smart for a moment.

00:10:12.293 --> 00:10:13.073
ALEX: I feel bad.

00:10:13.193 --> 00:10:14.113
VIRGINIA: No, you are.

00:10:14.133 --> 00:10:15.193
VIRGINIA: You're super smart.

00:10:15.213 --> 00:10:18.333
VIRGINIA: You're just newer to this earth than the rest of us are.

00:10:18.393 --> 00:10:23.153
ALEX: So mind you, I have 13 years of experience.

00:10:23.173 --> 00:10:24.893
ALEX: That's still quite a lot of time.

00:10:26.233 --> 00:10:28.553
ALEX: Well, I mean, I wouldn't know about you, though.

00:10:28.613 --> 00:10:30.913
ALEX: I mean, that's like dinosaur age.

00:10:31.333 --> 00:10:32.893
ALEX: But we're not going to talk about that right now.

00:10:33.233 --> 00:10:36.173
ALEX: So then we had lunch at Connections Cafe.

00:10:36.733 --> 00:10:40.433
ALEX: We had to wait for flipping ever.

00:10:40.453 --> 00:10:50.473
ALEX: I was going to say another word, but forever to get our food because they had this like stupid method.

00:10:50.493 --> 00:10:52.153
ALEX: I don't remember what the method was.

00:10:52.173 --> 00:10:54.093
ALEX: It was like whoever orders first.

00:10:54.133 --> 00:11:03.493
ALEX: But then like there was people walking up to the station like 15 minutes after we were there and they got their food like immediately.

00:11:03.613 --> 00:11:05.593
ALEX: And I was like, what?

00:11:06.153 --> 00:11:07.393
ALEX: What is going on?

00:11:07.853 --> 00:11:10.973
ALEX: We didn't even like I'm reading this like page right here.

00:11:10.993 --> 00:11:12.313
ALEX: It says we waited 30 minutes.

00:11:12.313 --> 00:11:13.713
ALEX: We did not wait 30 minutes.

00:11:14.213 --> 00:11:16.633
ALEX: It was much longer than that in my eyes.

00:11:17.273 --> 00:11:20.153
VIRGINIA: And what perhaps in your eyes, but I did pay attention at the time.

00:11:20.173 --> 00:11:22.413
VIRGINIA: It was 30 minutes, which felt like forever.

00:11:22.653 --> 00:11:26.653
VIRGINIA: And I think part of it was that we didn't wait for our food.

00:11:26.713 --> 00:11:30.573
VIRGINIA: We didn't wait for our mobile order to say your order is ready.

00:11:30.713 --> 00:11:32.513
VIRGINIA: We said we're here.

00:11:32.653 --> 00:11:36.373
VIRGINIA: And then within five or ten minutes, we were standing there waiting for it.

00:11:36.593 --> 00:11:42.473
ALEX: Yeah, but just like it's just like my mind made it feel like it was two hours.

00:11:42.773 --> 00:11:47.893
ALEX: And literally, the only thing we waited for was a piece of pizza and then a salad.

00:11:48.273 --> 00:11:49.693
VIRGINIA: Yes, salad.

00:11:50.253 --> 00:11:51.773
ALEX: You don't cook salad, do you?

00:11:53.633 --> 00:11:55.233
ALEX: You don't boil pizza, do you?

00:11:55.493 --> 00:11:56.233
ALEX: No, you don't.

00:11:56.793 --> 00:11:57.233
ALEX: Sorry.

00:11:57.373 --> 00:11:59.153
VIRGINIA: But the salad was good, I will say.

00:11:59.173 --> 00:12:00.593
ALEX: I had a taste, it was good.

00:12:00.873 --> 00:12:06.893
VIRGINIA: Yes, I get the General Tso's salad and I love a salad like that, like an oriental salad.

00:12:06.913 --> 00:12:08.993
VIRGINIA: So it was very good.

00:12:09.693 --> 00:12:16.893
VIRGINIA: And then we did have a virtual queue for Guardians, so we headed over there next.

00:12:17.253 --> 00:12:22.173
VIRGINIA: And I made a note that we entered the queue at 1:52 p.m.

00:12:22.373 --> 00:12:26.893
VIRGINIA: We were in the pre-show by 2.23 and on the ride by 2.46.

00:12:27.553 --> 00:12:30.153
VIRGINIA: And Alex, what song did we get?

00:12:30.173 --> 00:12:36.233
ALEX: Our first song, we got One Way or Another, which is the song that I actually wanted for the first try.

00:12:37.573 --> 00:12:44.813
ALEX: Then eventually we, I got a mosquito bite, and you'll never guess where I got a mosquito bite on my lip.

00:12:45.293 --> 00:12:54.313
ALEX: I mean, while we were in Guardians, while we were in Guardians, like, I mean, I knew I attract the ladies, but it didn't mean I attracted all of those.

00:12:54.953 --> 00:13:01.373
ALEX: But, yeah, I got one on my lip, and now people are just like, oh, who's the lucky bug?

00:13:01.393 --> 00:13:07.553
ALEX: Anyways, that kind of traumatized me, though.

00:13:07.573 --> 00:13:12.113
ALEX: I was like, oh crap, I think I might be poisoned.

00:13:12.573 --> 00:13:14.273
ALEX: But then I felt the bump come in.

00:13:14.293 --> 00:13:17.433
ALEX: I was like, I don't know if it's a pimple or a mosquito bite, but it hurt.

00:13:17.653 --> 00:13:18.233
ALEX: It really hurt.

00:13:18.693 --> 00:13:20.353
ALEX: And it was like a weird, tingly feeling.

00:13:20.753 --> 00:13:23.473
ALEX: Anyways, then we went to Spaceship Earth.

00:13:23.513 --> 00:13:26.673
ALEX: We had a lightning lane for that because Spaceship Earth is great.

00:13:27.573 --> 00:13:32.413
ALEX: And after that, we went, oh, wait, wait, wait.

00:13:32.653 --> 00:13:35.633
ALEX: I forgot to share the science club there.

00:13:36.273 --> 00:13:39.413
ALEX: So we were in line for Spaceship Earth.

00:13:40.053 --> 00:13:48.513
ALEX: And we saw this like day camp or something with all these kids and adults that had a t-shirt that said science club on them.

00:13:49.533 --> 00:13:53.353
ALEX: And oh my God, they were talking the entire ride.

00:13:53.413 --> 00:13:54.813
VIRGINIA: They did talk the entire ride.

00:13:54.833 --> 00:13:56.653
VIRGINIA: And I will say they were in the standby line.

00:13:56.673 --> 00:14:01.553
VIRGINIA: We were going into the lightning lane and we saw them coming because it was like 30 of them.

00:14:01.713 --> 00:14:04.153
VIRGINIA: And we were like, please let us go in front of science club.

00:14:04.173 --> 00:14:07.013
ALEX: There was like 20 of them, like 30, 100 of them.

00:14:07.653 --> 00:14:09.333
ALEX: And then they get on the ride and they're behind us.

00:14:09.353 --> 00:14:13.633
ALEX: So all we hear behind us is like, oh, wow, I hope the ride doesn't stop again.

00:14:13.653 --> 00:14:15.793
ALEX: But it's an old ride, OK?

00:14:16.113 --> 00:14:17.253
ALEX: We know it's going to stop.

00:14:17.273 --> 00:14:19.553
ALEX: Just stop like pretending like you know everything.

00:14:20.173 --> 00:14:25.753
ALEX: Like every time the ride stopped, like these kids would like decide to shout out, I knew that was going to happen.

00:14:25.773 --> 00:14:26.273
VIRGINIA: I knew that.

00:14:26.493 --> 00:14:27.153
VIRGINIA: I knew that.

00:14:27.353 --> 00:14:28.653
ALEX: You guys, I do that, guys.

00:14:30.313 --> 00:14:33.213
ALEX: Oh, my God, my rage.

00:14:33.233 --> 00:14:35.093
ALEX: I was like, please don't.

00:14:35.433 --> 00:14:37.393
ALEX: I'm a child and I'm still anchored by you.

00:14:38.033 --> 00:14:40.973
ALEX: Anyways, that's the science club for you.

00:14:41.473 --> 00:15:01.313
ALEX: Then we, like my mom, wanted to see the little sea urchins at the aquarium there because apparently some of the sea urchins have like little Mickey hats on because they tend to take objects and put them on the top of their head and cast members would throw like Mickey hats on them and they were very cute and like other things.

00:15:01.773 --> 00:15:04.753
ALEX: And then we went to the aquarium.

00:15:05.353 --> 00:15:11.853
ALEX: But the first we decided to actually go on the Nemo ride for the standby because why not since it was five more minutes?

00:15:12.333 --> 00:15:24.613
VIRGINIA: Yeah, I had learned about the sea urchins and their tendency to wear things on their head from Molly, who I have had on two different times recently.

00:15:24.953 --> 00:15:26.593
VIRGINIA: And so I really wanted to see it.

00:15:26.813 --> 00:15:32.173
VIRGINIA: And we saw one wearing Mickey hat, but it was wearing it upside down, which she warned me.

00:15:33.173 --> 00:15:39.933
VIRGINIA: Obviously, they can't tell which way is up for their hats when they're throwing something on their head.

00:15:40.113 --> 00:15:43.093
VIRGINIA: So it was cute, but I was really hoping to see more than just one.

00:15:43.113 --> 00:15:44.673
VIRGINIA: I don't know if they were hiding or what.

00:15:44.693 --> 00:15:48.713
VIRGINIA: But anyway, it was something that I just had on my list of things to do.

00:15:49.113 --> 00:15:49.453
ALEX: Yes.

00:15:49.853 --> 00:16:03.653
ALEX: Anyways, then we went to Living With The Land, which is like a fan favorite here in our family, because our father, my father, your husband, loves the little farmhouse there.

00:16:04.333 --> 00:16:06.113
ALEX: And it's just calming.

00:16:06.133 --> 00:16:07.733
VIRGINIA: Yeah, we call it dad's house.

00:16:09.173 --> 00:16:09.993
VIRGINIA: He's obsessed with it.

00:16:10.013 --> 00:16:11.053
ALEX: Welcome to dad's house.

00:16:12.293 --> 00:16:14.293
ALEX: So after that, we went on Soarin.

00:16:15.293 --> 00:16:19.513
ALEX: And this time, we got the best of the worst seats.

00:16:20.313 --> 00:16:22.273
ALEX: And you may be wondering, Alex, what do you mean by that?

00:16:22.373 --> 00:16:23.193
ALEX: Best of the worst seats?

00:16:23.213 --> 00:16:23.913
ALEX: What does that mean?

00:16:24.673 --> 00:16:38.613
ALEX: Now, if you can find a seat, if you're able to get lucky and get a seat that is the farthest left or the farthest right you can go in the first row, specifically the first row, then let me tell you, the experience completely changes.

00:16:39.233 --> 00:16:41.493
ALEX: Literally, it literally changes everything.

00:16:41.513 --> 00:16:44.753
ALEX: Because as you know, it's like a giant screen in front of your face.

00:16:45.233 --> 00:16:46.713
ALEX: And the screen is sort of curved.

00:16:47.213 --> 00:16:56.173
ALEX: So it's like the more farther left or the more farther right you go, the more tilted the building.

00:16:56.253 --> 00:16:58.493
ALEX: Everything will be tilted to the side.

00:16:59.133 --> 00:17:02.673
ALEX: And it is one of the funniest things that you will ever witness.

00:17:03.213 --> 00:17:07.493
ALEX: Imagine the leaning tower of Pisa times 10.

00:17:08.333 --> 00:17:09.753
ALEX: That's touching the floor.

00:17:09.773 --> 00:17:13.153
ALEX: I mean, it was already leaning.

00:17:13.473 --> 00:17:21.293
ALEX: Imagine the Eiffel Tower curved like that movie Airplane, where it's like they're like we're an airplane they have like for their cover.

00:17:21.313 --> 00:17:22.993
ALEX: It's like the airplane all twisted.

00:17:23.013 --> 00:17:25.353
ALEX: Yeah, it's basically bendable like that.

00:17:25.653 --> 00:17:29.593
ALEX: So most people usually like want the center seats.

00:17:30.053 --> 00:17:34.513
ALEX: But one time like because we usually sit in the seats that were assigned.

00:17:34.793 --> 00:17:42.333
ALEX: And one time we got I think it was like to the farthest left you can go in, I think the second or first row.

00:17:43.373 --> 00:17:51.673
ALEX: And we were dying laughing because we were seeing things pointed in angles that were meant to be pointed in.

00:17:51.693 --> 00:17:53.833
ALEX: And it was the funniest thing ever.

00:17:53.853 --> 00:17:59.653
ALEX: And I would you would like like, of course, my mom over here was just like, she was like laughing, you know, it was like chuckling.

00:17:59.893 --> 00:18:02.913
ALEX: But then the harder I laughed, the harder we all laughed.

00:18:02.933 --> 00:18:04.153
ALEX: And it was just hilarious.

00:18:04.833 --> 00:18:05.793
VIRGINIA: And we were crying.

00:18:05.973 --> 00:18:06.973
ALEX: It was we were crying.

00:18:06.993 --> 00:18:07.593
ALEX: It was so funny.

00:18:07.613 --> 00:18:07.773
VIRGINIA: Yeah.

00:18:08.253 --> 00:18:17.053
ALEX: And I mean, but if you get like farthest left farthest right in the last row, that's not good, because like it's funny, but like you get dirty feet in the way.

00:18:17.813 --> 00:18:18.333
ALEX: Anyways.

00:18:19.113 --> 00:18:26.973
VIRGINIA: So that's why we call the farthest right or farthest left in the first row, the best of the worst seats.

00:18:26.973 --> 00:18:28.233
ALEX: The best of the worst seats, indeed.

00:18:28.573 --> 00:18:30.213
VIRGINIA: And so now we kind of hope to get those.

00:18:30.273 --> 00:18:32.873
ALEX: Yes, we did hope to get those this time because it was that funny.

00:18:33.153 --> 00:18:33.833
ALEX: And we did.

00:18:34.053 --> 00:18:37.153
ALEX: We did surprisingly like at first we weren't but then we did.

00:18:37.813 --> 00:18:42.093
ALEX: Anyways, then we went to a snack break at La Cava.

00:18:42.273 --> 00:18:45.753
VIRGINIA: Yes, La Cava del Tequila over in the Mexico Pavilion.

00:18:45.773 --> 00:18:53.973
ALEX: It is literally one of the best snack spots, in my opinion, in all the parks, mostly because it's like I love their virgin piña colada.

00:18:54.433 --> 00:19:01.013
ALEX: We went to get some like we had a trio of guacamole, queso and salsa.

00:19:01.953 --> 00:19:04.773
ALEX: And I got my virgin piña colada, like always.

00:19:06.833 --> 00:19:08.573
ALEX: I love the virgin piña colada there.

00:19:08.593 --> 00:19:09.353
ALEX: They make it so well.

00:19:09.593 --> 00:19:11.053
ALEX: I even had one like last night.

00:19:11.493 --> 00:19:12.513
ALEX: No, it wasn't last night.

00:19:12.593 --> 00:19:13.973
ALEX: Yeah, it was last night.

00:19:13.993 --> 00:19:14.633
ALEX: I had one last night.

00:19:14.653 --> 00:19:15.213
ALEX: It was incredible.

00:19:15.673 --> 00:19:19.033
ALEX: And my mom gets her traditional avocado margarita.

00:19:19.093 --> 00:19:23.273
VIRGINIA: To be clear, you had one last night here in our neighborhood, not in the cut.

00:19:23.953 --> 00:19:26.493
ALEX: I didn't fly back to Disney for an hour.

00:19:26.933 --> 00:19:30.133
ALEX: Then we went to Guardians again for Lightning Lane this time.

00:19:31.073 --> 00:19:34.193
ALEX: And this time I was hoping for Everybody Wants To Rule The World.

00:19:34.933 --> 00:19:38.273
ALEX: And when I tell you why, we are some of the luckiest people ever.

00:19:38.453 --> 00:19:40.713
ALEX: I mean it because this was like, we got it.

00:19:40.933 --> 00:19:42.133
ALEX: We got the song, mom.

00:19:42.153 --> 00:19:42.613
ALEX: We got the song.

00:19:43.153 --> 00:19:46.013
ALEX: And I was actually not like, I'll admit it.

00:19:46.033 --> 00:19:53.553
ALEX: I wasn't feeling like 100% at the beginning of this trip because some stuff happened in my personal life.

00:19:53.573 --> 00:19:57.513
ALEX: Not like that serious, but you know, just relationship problems.

00:19:58.093 --> 00:20:03.053
ALEX: And then like the moment that song played, I just felt enlightened and happy.

00:20:03.133 --> 00:20:07.173
ALEX: And I was just enjoying myself because I was like, wait a minute, I'm in Disney.

00:20:07.193 --> 00:20:09.993
ALEX: This is no place to be sad, Alex.

00:20:10.413 --> 00:20:11.273
ALEX: I told that to myself.

00:20:11.813 --> 00:20:12.093
ALEX: Yeah.

00:20:12.833 --> 00:20:18.473
VIRGINIA: And as I've mentioned on multiple episodes in the past, everybody wants to rule the world as sort of our family song.

00:20:18.493 --> 00:20:29.413
VIRGINIA: It's the very first song that Alex ever heard on this earth because Charles, his dad, wanted him to hear that song first because it starts out, welcome to your life, there's no turning back.

00:20:29.733 --> 00:20:32.413
VIRGINIA: So that's sort of his song, our family song.

00:20:32.713 --> 00:20:34.153
VIRGINIA: We're always excited to hear it.

00:20:34.453 --> 00:20:41.393
VIRGINIA: And to top it off, Alex was wearing his Tears For Fear shirt that said everybody wants to rule the world.

00:20:41.413 --> 00:20:42.913
VIRGINIA: So it was perfect.

00:20:43.313 --> 00:20:43.993
ALEX: Perfection.

00:20:44.713 --> 00:20:53.813
ALEX: Then our rain, then some rain had started as we were going around the World Showcase and we hadn't brought our ponchos.

00:20:54.533 --> 00:21:00.493
ALEX: So we had to do the classic Disney move, which was to buy ponchos at Disney.

00:21:01.373 --> 00:21:05.333
ALEX: And at first we were like talking about plans to get out of the rain.

00:21:05.713 --> 00:21:09.273
ALEX: And I came up with some pretty ridiculous ones, but they were good plans.

00:21:09.673 --> 00:21:12.993
ALEX: Then we had some dinner at Le Creperie.

00:21:13.293 --> 00:21:14.393
ALEX: Le Creperie.

00:21:15.873 --> 00:21:16.673
VIRGINIA: Le Creperie.

00:21:19.953 --> 00:21:23.913
ALEX: And it was raining pretty heavily as we were eating.

00:21:24.353 --> 00:21:29.313
ALEX: I got a salad appetizer with some salmon galette entre.

00:21:29.513 --> 00:21:31.473
ALEX: I can't say this.

00:21:32.093 --> 00:21:34.453
ALEX: And for dessert, I got some apple caramel dessert.

00:21:34.953 --> 00:21:38.653
ALEX: And I didn't really like it that much, mostly because I was already so full.

00:21:39.113 --> 00:21:41.933
ALEX: And I don't really like the apple chunks in there.

00:21:42.273 --> 00:21:43.473
ALEX: And my mom got...

00:21:44.133 --> 00:21:47.533
VIRGINIA: I had the vegetable soup for the appetizer.

00:21:47.553 --> 00:21:51.033
VIRGINIA: That was the soup du jour, which means soup of the day.

00:21:52.613 --> 00:21:55.793
VIRGINIA: And I also got the salmon galette for my entree.

00:21:56.773 --> 00:22:00.733
VIRGINIA: And for dessert, I had the peach melba crepe.

00:22:01.113 --> 00:22:07.793
VIRGINIA: Now, I will say I have had crepes from the creperie, the window outside before.

00:22:07.813 --> 00:22:08.413
VIRGINIA: Like I've gotten...

00:22:08.433 --> 00:22:12.513
VIRGINIA: I know I've gotten the butter sugar one, and I can't remember what other flavors I've had there.

00:22:12.993 --> 00:22:15.793
VIRGINIA: But this dinner, we did the prefix.

00:22:16.633 --> 00:22:24.613
VIRGINIA: And like Alex said, we were already kind of full from earlier, but it was like, this is our chance to eat at the creperie.

00:22:24.633 --> 00:22:28.013
VIRGINIA: So let's go ahead and do the prefix so we get the whole experience.

00:22:28.413 --> 00:22:31.773
VIRGINIA: And I said to him, you know, just eat what you can.

00:22:31.793 --> 00:22:32.933
VIRGINIA: We're just going to try everything.

00:22:33.213 --> 00:22:34.313
VIRGINIA: It doesn't matter.

00:22:34.833 --> 00:22:40.053
VIRGINIA: But I have to say, after eating there, I don't think I need to go back.

00:22:40.133 --> 00:22:42.553
VIRGINIA: If I want a crepe, I'm going to get it from the crepe window.

00:22:44.073 --> 00:22:48.933
VIRGINIA: And that's because I just think that the food was not spectacular.

00:22:48.953 --> 00:22:50.093
ALEX: Yeah, it wasn't the best food.

00:22:50.453 --> 00:23:02.293
VIRGINIA: And the inside of it, I want to compare it to what, like, a middle of the road hotel lobby looks like where you would eat your continental breakfast, right?

00:23:02.293 --> 00:23:03.473
VIRGINIA: Like, it was really generic.

00:23:03.493 --> 00:23:03.633
ALEX: Yes.

00:23:04.213 --> 00:23:04.653
ALEX: Anyways.

00:23:04.673 --> 00:23:05.313
VIRGINIA: Nothing special.

00:23:06.153 --> 00:23:07.133
ALEX: Yeah, it was something special.

00:23:07.733 --> 00:23:15.133
ALEX: After dinner, I went to the Japan shop and my mother went to France to the macaron place.

00:23:15.613 --> 00:23:17.613
VIRGINIA: Yeah, I want to interject here.

00:23:17.813 --> 00:23:20.213
VIRGINIA: Yes, I was full, but I absolutely...

00:23:20.233 --> 00:23:21.293
ALEX: There's always room for dessert.

00:23:21.413 --> 00:23:29.113
VIRGINIA: I had to have the macaron ice cream sandwich from Les Artesans des Glaces.

00:23:29.473 --> 00:23:35.653
VIRGINIA: And so I went over there and I got the raspberry sorbet, which was the seasonal flavor and it was delicious.

00:23:35.833 --> 00:23:36.493
VIRGINIA: And you know what?

00:23:36.553 --> 00:23:37.733
VIRGINIA: I made some room for it.

00:23:38.153 --> 00:23:39.393
ALEX: Yes, there's always room for it.

00:23:41.353 --> 00:23:42.533
ALEX: I looked around the store.

00:23:42.573 --> 00:23:44.973
ALEX: There wasn't really much I was interested in though, sadly.

00:23:45.493 --> 00:23:47.533
ALEX: But I did like just...

00:23:47.853 --> 00:23:52.773
ALEX: At the end, I just like looked at looked at into the water and stuff.

00:23:53.453 --> 00:23:55.833
ALEX: And it was like there was lightning everywhere.

00:23:55.853 --> 00:23:57.313
ALEX: 300 degree angle.

00:23:57.413 --> 00:23:58.013
ALEX: It was insane.

00:24:00.093 --> 00:24:04.453
ALEX: Then we went to find a spot for Luminous to see Luminous for the first time.

00:24:04.993 --> 00:24:10.293
ALEX: And we wanted to watch the area just off the bridge from France right before the International Gateway.

00:24:11.153 --> 00:24:13.933
ALEX: And oh boy, this part is my favorite.

00:24:14.633 --> 00:24:20.793
ALEX: So we decided that we like settled down and we started like looking off, getting ready for it.

00:24:21.273 --> 00:24:24.133
ALEX: And we had been there for about like 30 minutes or so, right?

00:24:24.153 --> 00:24:25.633
ALEX: And we were like, okay, this is a good spot.

00:24:25.633 --> 00:24:26.553
ALEX: Nobody else is here.

00:24:27.193 --> 00:24:34.353
ALEX: And then the show like started, the show like started to begin and we were like, okay, this is exciting.

00:24:34.833 --> 00:24:45.513
ALEX: And as the show was going on, some like lady like decides to walk up next to me, bump me to the side and like just stare me down.

00:24:45.533 --> 00:24:47.633
ALEX: And I was like, what did I do?

00:24:47.653 --> 00:24:53.653
ALEX: And like I didn't say it, but like I was just like looking at her like weird because I was like, why did you just do that?

00:24:53.713 --> 00:24:57.633
ALEX: I am 13 years old and she was like, we have been standing.

00:24:57.653 --> 00:24:58.393
ALEX: We have been sitting.

00:24:58.613 --> 00:25:04.513
ALEX: We have been sitting back there for 30 minutes and you guys have been blocking our view.

00:25:05.353 --> 00:25:07.813
ALEX: Like you didn't say anything, ma'am.

00:25:08.273 --> 00:25:14.733
ALEX: And my mom notices this and she looks over to the side and she's just like, she's just like, we've been waiting there for 30 minutes.

00:25:14.753 --> 00:25:15.833
ALEX: It got to be more considerate.

00:25:15.853 --> 00:25:17.733
ALEX: And my mom was like, okay.

00:25:18.533 --> 00:25:21.553
ALEX: And that was pretty funny, in my opinion.

00:25:21.573 --> 00:25:23.473
VIRGINIA: So just to describe this a little bit in more detail.

00:25:23.493 --> 00:25:36.093
VIRGINIA: So we walked over and when you cross the bridge from France, like you're going to the International Gateway, there is an area down some steps that I think is frequently used for private parties, that sort of thing.

00:25:36.793 --> 00:25:43.173
VIRGINIA: And it was fairly clear, like there were plenty of open spots at the railing.

00:25:43.813 --> 00:25:46.193
VIRGINIA: And so we picked an open spot.

00:25:46.213 --> 00:25:47.733
VIRGINIA: We went and we stood at the railing.

00:25:48.493 --> 00:25:53.413
VIRGINIA: And this lady and her family were sitting on the wall towards the back of this open area.

00:25:53.653 --> 00:25:54.473
ALEX: We didn't notice them.

00:25:54.713 --> 00:25:55.733
VIRGINIA: We didn't notice them.

00:25:55.753 --> 00:25:56.873
VIRGINIA: They were sitting back there.

00:25:57.293 --> 00:26:04.273
VIRGINIA: We stood along the railing for 20 to 30 minutes probably before the Lumen has even started.

00:26:04.293 --> 00:26:04.973
VIRGINIA: So we were standing.

00:26:04.993 --> 00:26:09.653
VIRGINIA: So she had plenty of opportunity to come up and say something about us standing there.

00:26:09.673 --> 00:26:13.513
VIRGINIA: But also she was sitting at the very back on the wall.

00:26:13.533 --> 00:26:14.913
VIRGINIA: She wasn't up at the railing.

00:26:14.933 --> 00:26:16.953
VIRGINIA: There were other people already up at the railing.

00:26:16.973 --> 00:26:22.353
VIRGINIA: So when you sit on the back wall, that does not reserve you a spot by the railing.

00:26:22.373 --> 00:26:24.893
VIRGINIA: If you want a spot by the railing, you go stand by the railing, right?

00:26:25.353 --> 00:26:29.093
VIRGINIA: So we stood by the railing and then waited for 20 to 30 minutes.

00:26:29.293 --> 00:26:36.973
VIRGINIA: As soon as the show was starting, that's when she decided to get confrontational and come over and say that they had waited for so long.

00:26:38.053 --> 00:26:42.353
VIRGINIA: And I don't know, she waited for so long back in the wrong spot.

00:26:42.373 --> 00:26:42.973
VIRGINIA: I'm sorry.

00:26:42.993 --> 00:26:43.753
VIRGINIA: I'm sorry you did that.

00:26:44.173 --> 00:26:46.993
VIRGINIA: So my response was just kind of like, okay.

00:26:47.193 --> 00:26:51.073
VIRGINIA: And then I turned my face back towards Luminous and enjoyed the show.

00:26:51.293 --> 00:26:56.013
VIRGINIA: Anyways, I want to ask you, did you like Luminous?

00:26:56.893 --> 00:26:58.793
ALEX: No, I'm going to be honest.

00:26:58.813 --> 00:27:00.293
ALEX: No, it was overhyped.

00:27:00.493 --> 00:27:08.093
ALEX: First of all, second of all, the entire time I was watching it, I was being attacked by mosquitoes.

00:27:08.153 --> 00:27:11.113
ALEX: It was the worst thing ever.

00:27:11.113 --> 00:27:15.253
ALEX: And what was worse is that I kept noticing them hitting my skin.

00:27:16.053 --> 00:27:20.993
ALEX: And I had to sit through that entire show because I couldn't even enjoy the show because they were all attacking me.

00:27:21.753 --> 00:27:23.113
ALEX: And I didn't really like it anyways.

00:27:23.733 --> 00:27:25.253
VIRGINIA: I thought it was okay.

00:27:25.673 --> 00:27:28.153
VIRGINIA: I don't feel like I need to go out of my way to see it again.

00:27:28.173 --> 00:27:29.013
ALEX: Yeah, anyways.

00:27:29.733 --> 00:27:34.313
ALEX: Then we took the Skyliner back to Pop Century and got back in our room at around 10 p.m.

00:27:34.713 --> 00:27:38.833
ALEX: There was many snails around and my mom here almost killed one of them.

00:27:39.273 --> 00:27:40.073
VIRGINIA: It was an accident.

00:27:40.093 --> 00:27:40.833
VIRGINIA: I almost got those snails.

00:27:41.473 --> 00:27:42.273
ALEX: I told her to apologize.

00:27:42.293 --> 00:27:42.853
ALEX: She apologized.

00:27:43.213 --> 00:27:44.433
VIRGINIA: It was because of all that rain.

00:27:44.453 --> 00:27:45.493
ALEX: Yes, it was because of all the rain.

00:27:45.513 --> 00:27:47.573
VIRGINIA: I don't know what, like 50 snails out on the sidewalk?

00:27:47.593 --> 00:27:48.633
ALEX: 50 snails out on the sidewalk.

00:27:48.653 --> 00:27:49.173
ALEX: Yes, indeed.

00:27:51.073 --> 00:27:54.393
ALEX: Then we took our showers and we went to bed since it was a long day.

00:27:54.413 --> 00:27:55.973
ALEX: And we were ready for the next day.

00:27:56.713 --> 00:27:59.353
VIRGINIA: All right, so moving on to Friday, June 7th.

00:27:59.553 --> 00:28:02.933
VIRGINIA: At 7 a.m., I got an individual lightning lane for Tron.

00:28:03.273 --> 00:28:14.193
VIRGINIA: We had decided that based on the amount of time that we had, because this was a quick trip, that we were not going to bother with the virtual queue for Tron, because as you know, when you do a virtual queue, you have to wait a lot longer.

00:28:14.213 --> 00:28:17.813
VIRGINIA: So we simply purchased the individual lightning lane and left it at that.

00:28:18.513 --> 00:28:29.033
VIRGINIA: At 7 a.m., standby skipper, which I was using for this trip just to give me an extra set of hands, went ahead and booked our first lightning lane of the day right at 7 a.m.

00:28:29.453 --> 00:28:34.553
VIRGINIA: And that was for Big Thunder, which was scheduled for a 9 a.m.

00:28:34.673 --> 00:28:35.433
VIRGINIA: time frame.

00:28:35.753 --> 00:28:37.613
VIRGINIA: But I went ahead and moved it to 11 a.m.

00:28:37.633 --> 00:28:39.813
VIRGINIA: just because we wanted some extra time for breakfast.

00:28:39.933 --> 00:28:45.893
VIRGINIA: So from there, we got ready and we were at the buses by about 9 30 a.m.

00:28:46.513 --> 00:28:50.733
VIRGINIA: and through Magic Kingdom Security by 9 55 a.m.

00:28:50.753 --> 00:29:02.433
VIRGINIA: According to my notes, we got a locker this day, and it was really because I was wearing like an athletic dress, like not a Halara dress, but similar with a little ruffle thing on the bottom.

00:29:02.453 --> 00:29:03.153
VIRGINIA: It was really cute.

00:29:03.173 --> 00:29:04.353
VIRGINIA: I got it off of Amazon.

00:29:04.833 --> 00:29:08.333
VIRGINIA: And I just wasn't sure how I would feel about wearing that the entire day.

00:29:08.813 --> 00:29:12.273
VIRGINIA: It came with like matching biker shorts to wear underneath.

00:29:12.453 --> 00:29:16.453
VIRGINIA: And I just I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about being in that the entire day.

00:29:16.473 --> 00:29:22.213
VIRGINIA: So I had brought a t-shirt and some shorts and I put it in a locker just in case I wanted to change clothes.

00:29:22.913 --> 00:29:23.793
VIRGINIA: Spoiler alert.

00:29:24.413 --> 00:29:26.813
VIRGINIA: The dress was very comfortable and I did not end up changing.

00:29:26.933 --> 00:29:33.813
VIRGINIA: And because it was an athletic dress, it was perfect for being in the hot heat and being all sweaty and everything.

00:29:33.833 --> 00:29:34.453
VIRGINIA: So it worked out.

00:29:34.473 --> 00:29:35.773
VIRGINIA: So whatever.

00:29:35.833 --> 00:29:40.813
VIRGINIA: I was glad to have the insurance policy of the locker in case I wanted to change clothes.

00:29:41.413 --> 00:29:45.973
VIRGINIA: So from there, we put in a mobile order for Sleepy Hollow.

00:29:46.893 --> 00:29:55.293
VIRGINIA: And on our way to Sleepy Hollow, we did a Starbucks stop because we do not like the coffee options at Sleepy Hollow, do we?

00:29:56.333 --> 00:29:57.393
ALEX: No, it's not.

00:29:57.413 --> 00:30:00.013
ALEX: It's not the best coffee options, if I'm being honest.

00:30:00.253 --> 00:30:01.753
VIRGINIA: No, we love a good Joffreys.

00:30:01.773 --> 00:30:03.413
VIRGINIA: We love a good Joffreys stand.

00:30:03.753 --> 00:30:08.113
VIRGINIA: But at Sleepy Hollow, they only offer like plain Joffreys, nothing exciting.

00:30:08.133 --> 00:30:17.213
VIRGINIA: So we stopped at Starbucks and got our coffees there and then headed over to Sleepy Hollow to pick up our Nutella waffles, of course.

00:30:17.913 --> 00:30:32.033
VIRGINIA: And we took it to what I like to think of as our secret Sleepy Hollow eating area because frequently the tables at Sleepy Hollow are very full and it can be difficult to find a place to sit.

00:30:32.193 --> 00:30:44.813
VIRGINIA: But there are some picnic tables that are behind the Christmas shop that you can kind of walk straight across from Sleepy Hollow, behind those other little buildings, and you can nearly always find a spot to sit over there.

00:30:44.833 --> 00:30:48.253
VIRGINIA: So we took our waffles and sat at my secret tables.

00:30:49.033 --> 00:30:50.153
ALEX: The secret tables.

00:30:50.193 --> 00:30:55.753
VIRGINIA: Yes, and the Nutella waffles were amazing, as always.

00:30:56.733 --> 00:31:01.913
VIRGINIA: Then we went to Frontierland, and what did you spend a lot of time doing?

00:31:01.933 --> 00:31:06.893
ALEX: I spent a thousand trillion hours doing the shooting range.

00:31:07.473 --> 00:31:19.913
VIRGINIA: And it's a good thing you did, because after this trip was over, we found out that the shooting gallery is going away and will be replaced with a DVC lounge, which I know Alex is upset about that.

00:31:19.953 --> 00:31:27.133
VIRGINIA: But I am excited about the possibility of a DVC lounge that we can stop and take breaks at in Magic Kingdom.

00:31:27.153 --> 00:31:27.873
VIRGINIA: So that will be cool.

00:31:27.893 --> 00:31:32.093
VIRGINIA: But I will admit, I have never paid attention to that shooting gallery before.

00:31:32.113 --> 00:31:34.093
VIRGINIA: It did not look fun to me.

00:31:34.113 --> 00:31:36.553
VIRGINIA: I was just kind of like, I don't need to do that.

00:31:36.553 --> 00:31:37.753
VIRGINIA: But then Alex was doing it.

00:31:37.773 --> 00:31:38.853
ALEX: It was fun to me.

00:31:39.073 --> 00:31:39.853
VIRGINIA: It looked fun.

00:31:39.913 --> 00:31:42.413
VIRGINIA: And so I jumped in and did some too.

00:31:42.433 --> 00:31:47.653
VIRGINIA: And every time you shot one of the targets, something would happen in the scene.

00:31:47.713 --> 00:31:49.313
VIRGINIA: And so I actually enjoyed it.

00:31:49.333 --> 00:31:52.453
VIRGINIA: So yeah, you were right about the shooting gallery.

00:31:52.533 --> 00:31:53.093
VIRGINIA: It was fun.

00:31:53.253 --> 00:31:53.673
ALEX: Thank you.

00:31:53.693 --> 00:31:59.013
ALEX: I mean, it was the first time I'd ever played it, of course, because, you know, Red Dead Redemption.

00:31:59.033 --> 00:32:00.893
VIRGINIA: No, you did it when you were little.

00:32:00.913 --> 00:32:01.973
VIRGINIA: You probably just don't remember.

00:32:01.993 --> 00:32:07.253
VIRGINIA: But Alex has recently gotten very into the Red Dead Redemption video game.

00:32:07.273 --> 00:32:12.013
VIRGINIA: And so he was specifically looking forward to taking advantage of the shooting gallery.

00:32:12.253 --> 00:32:12.813
ALEX: I beat it.

00:32:12.993 --> 00:32:15.993
ALEX: I beat it like a few weeks before we went.

00:32:16.753 --> 00:32:19.933
ALEX: I beat the game and I was just like, wow, this is the best game ever.

00:32:19.953 --> 00:32:21.713
ALEX: I got to do the shooting range when we get there.

00:32:21.733 --> 00:32:24.333
ALEX: We're going straight to the western part.

00:32:25.053 --> 00:32:25.833
VIRGINIA: Frontierland.

00:32:26.633 --> 00:32:26.953
VIRGINIA: All right.

00:32:26.973 --> 00:32:31.053
VIRGINIA: This is where it gets exciting because we went to go use our lightning lane for Big Thunder.

00:32:31.133 --> 00:32:32.293
VIRGINIA: We walked up the queue.

00:32:32.373 --> 00:32:34.013
VIRGINIA: We got to the bottom of the ramp.

00:32:34.613 --> 00:32:41.273
VIRGINIA: And as we always do, we asked for the last row because it is much more exciting from the last row.

00:32:42.193 --> 00:32:43.173
VIRGINIA: So we did that.

00:32:43.193 --> 00:32:45.373
VIRGINIA: So they put us off to the side to wait for a second.

00:32:45.733 --> 00:32:53.213
VIRGINIA: And as we're waiting for a second for our chance to get into the last row, we noticed that no one else is coming down the ramp.

00:32:54.313 --> 00:32:58.853
VIRGINIA: And the cast member that was standing there with us was like, huh, that's weird.

00:32:59.613 --> 00:33:03.953
VIRGINIA: So finally they said, okay, go ahead to the last row.

00:33:03.973 --> 00:33:07.973
VIRGINIA: We went to the last row, but they're not sending anybody back for any of the other rows.

00:33:08.013 --> 00:33:10.213
VIRGINIA: So I don't know what was going on.

00:33:10.253 --> 00:33:18.213
VIRGINIA: I vaguely heard something perhaps about like an animatronic not fully working, but they had sent us to the last row.

00:33:18.373 --> 00:33:25.453
VIRGINIA: And I kind of looked across the way at the cast member at the front of the line and said, are we going to get to ride by ourselves?

00:33:26.093 --> 00:33:27.553
VIRGINIA: And he said, yeah, you are.

00:33:28.333 --> 00:33:29.953
VIRGINIA: And that's exactly what happened.

00:33:29.953 --> 00:33:35.553
VIRGINIA: We rode Big Thunder Mountain in the middle of the afternoon, just the two of us in the very last row.

00:33:35.553 --> 00:33:37.353
ALEX: Just the two of us.

00:33:37.373 --> 00:33:37.913
VIRGINIA: Oh, thank you, Alex.

00:33:38.713 --> 00:33:39.333
VIRGINIA: That was perfect.

00:33:39.413 --> 00:33:41.053
VIRGINIA: Good timing.

00:33:41.653 --> 00:33:43.453
VIRGINIA: And no one else in the entire train.

00:33:43.493 --> 00:33:48.993
VIRGINIA: So if you are interested in checking that out, it is posted on the podcast Instagram as a reel.

00:33:49.073 --> 00:33:53.873
VIRGINIA: And it was one of the most magical moments I have experienced at Disney.

00:33:54.133 --> 00:34:01.893
ALEX: And by the way, whoever has seen this post, I just want to congratulate you on your 1,000 followers on Instagram, Mom.

00:34:02.273 --> 00:34:10.793
ALEX: Because I know I already have, but I feel like I should congratulate you here because that is a big step in your podcasting career.

00:34:10.813 --> 00:34:12.893
ALEX: And congrats.

00:34:13.793 --> 00:34:14.713
VIRGINIA: Thank you very much.

00:34:14.733 --> 00:34:15.973
VIRGINIA: I appreciate that, Alex.

00:34:16.913 --> 00:34:17.353
VIRGINIA: All right.

00:34:17.413 --> 00:34:19.093
VIRGINIA: Let's get through the rest of this day.

00:34:19.113 --> 00:34:21.933
VIRGINIA: We got so much to get through and we're running out of time.

00:34:22.513 --> 00:34:26.573
VIRGINIA: So after Big Thunder, you really wanted to go over to Tom Sawyer Island.

00:34:26.593 --> 00:34:26.993
ALEX: I did.

00:34:27.633 --> 00:34:36.753
VIRGINIA: So I said before we do that, I need to get a little snack or something because I don't want to be caught on an island, be getting hungry with nothing to eat.

00:34:36.773 --> 00:34:43.173
VIRGINIA: So we briefly stopped at Pecos Bill and I got a chicken rice bowl that we ended up sharing.

00:34:43.453 --> 00:34:46.753
VIRGINIA: And then Alex had a strawberry lemonade slush.

00:34:46.773 --> 00:34:50.533
VIRGINIA: And then we headed over to Tom Sawyer Island and had some fun over there.

00:34:50.633 --> 00:34:59.773
VIRGINIA: And while we were there, Alex decided that he really wanted to have dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern, which I did not have a reservation for Liberty Tree Tavern.

00:34:59.773 --> 00:35:02.333
ALEX: It's actually one of my favorite restaurants at Disney, in my opinion.

00:35:02.353 --> 00:35:02.973
ALEX: It's so good.

00:35:04.053 --> 00:35:07.733
VIRGINIA: I already had a reservation for dinner at Skipper Canteen.

00:35:07.813 --> 00:35:22.913
VIRGINIA: So when he said he wanted to do that, I said, all right, I'm going to cancel Skipper Canteen and I'm going to look for a Liberty Tree Tavern reservation, which I ended up being able to get thanks to the Stakeout app, where I was able to enter what reservation I was looking for.

00:35:23.013 --> 00:35:28.913
VIRGINIA: And I would say within an hour I had a notification that we had a reservation at a time that was going to work for us.

00:35:30.533 --> 00:35:31.913
VIRGINIA: So yay for the Stakeout app.

00:35:33.093 --> 00:35:41.893
VIRGINIA: From there, we came back over to the mainland and decided to get some Dole Whips from Aloha Isle.

00:35:41.913 --> 00:35:46.613
VIRGINIA: I had the Tropical Serenade, as I always do, and Alex had a Dole Whip float.

00:35:47.253 --> 00:35:49.373
VIRGINIA: And then he wanted what?

00:35:49.873 --> 00:35:51.473
VIRGINIA: More time at the Shooting Range.

00:35:51.493 --> 00:35:53.133
ALEX: More time at the Shooting Range, indeed.

00:35:53.653 --> 00:36:04.673
VIRGINIA: So he did that, and I just sat and kind of chilled and ended up kind of sitting next to some people who were there for the first time and just was chatting with them about what they had been up to.

00:36:05.673 --> 00:36:13.593
VIRGINIA: And from there, we decided it was time to go over to Tomorrowland and ride our beloved PeopleMover.

00:36:14.413 --> 00:36:19.553
VIRGINIA: After that, we went to Carousel Progress because Alex always really loves to do that one.

00:36:19.853 --> 00:36:23.833
VIRGINIA: I love to do it too, but at this point with the heat and everything, I was ready for a nap.

00:36:24.253 --> 00:36:26.693
VIRGINIA: So I said, that's perfect.

00:36:26.733 --> 00:36:31.893
VIRGINIA: We will go on Carousel Progress and I will just be okay with the fact that I'm going to sleep through the entire thing.

00:36:31.913 --> 00:36:32.533
VIRGINIA: And that's what I did.

00:36:33.373 --> 00:36:34.733
VIRGINIA: I went into Carousel Progress.

00:36:34.893 --> 00:36:36.953
VIRGINIA: I put my sunglasses on inside.

00:36:36.973 --> 00:36:42.933
VIRGINIA: I kind of scooted down in my chair and I slept for 20 minutes and it was glorious.

00:36:43.093 --> 00:36:43.793
ALEX: I didn't sleep.

00:36:43.853 --> 00:36:45.313
ALEX: I tried, but I couldn't.

00:36:46.353 --> 00:36:49.453
VIRGINIA: After that, we did Space Mountain with a Lightning Lane.

00:36:49.813 --> 00:36:52.433
VIRGINIA: And then what do we always do after Space Mountain?

00:36:53.413 --> 00:36:56.293
ALEX: We have Jaffreys from the Jaffreys Revive.

00:36:56.873 --> 00:37:00.673
ALEX: And I get my traditional Mission to Smorz iced.

00:37:00.693 --> 00:37:04.593
ALEX: But this time it was actually more like a slushy, but it was actually really good.

00:37:05.193 --> 00:37:07.033
ALEX: And you got your mango iced tea.

00:37:08.233 --> 00:37:09.733
VIRGINIA: And it was delicious, as always.

00:37:10.393 --> 00:37:14.673
VIRGINIA: From there, we decided to do the teacups because it was a walk on anyway.

00:37:14.833 --> 00:37:16.213
VIRGINIA: And we hardly ever do them.

00:37:16.733 --> 00:37:22.133
VIRGINIA: And so I got Alex to agree to do the teacups, because I just kind of wanted to do it for the nostalgia sake.

00:37:22.153 --> 00:37:29.073
VIRGINIA: But the only way I could get him to agree to it was for me to say, it's okay for you to spin it as much as you want.

00:37:29.773 --> 00:37:30.513
ALEX: Oh, my God.

00:37:31.253 --> 00:37:32.673
ALEX: I prepared for that moment.

00:37:32.693 --> 00:37:38.713
ALEX: And I'm still like preparing for the next time because I spun that thing.

00:37:38.733 --> 00:37:40.413
ALEX: It was insane.

00:37:40.433 --> 00:37:41.753
ALEX: It was insane.

00:37:41.773 --> 00:37:43.753
ALEX: And like you posted on your Instagram, too.

00:37:43.853 --> 00:37:49.953
ALEX: And if you want to watch it on her Instagram, just it's a reel on her Instagram of me and her just spinning it.

00:37:50.093 --> 00:37:50.993
VIRGINIA: I don't think it's a reel.

00:37:51.013 --> 00:37:55.333
VIRGINIA: It's actually in my saved stories under my highlight bubbles for the Mother-Son trip.

00:37:55.353 --> 00:38:01.273
VIRGINIA: But I did like a dual video camera thing where you can see my face and his face while he's spinning.

00:38:01.413 --> 00:38:03.213
ALEX: But yeah, I spun it as fast as I could.

00:38:03.413 --> 00:38:07.733
ALEX: Then after that, we went to the Speedway standby since it was like 10 minutes long.

00:38:08.553 --> 00:38:13.473
VIRGINIA: And then we went over and did PhilharMagic standby, which was a walk on.

00:38:13.813 --> 00:38:15.633
VIRGINIA: And we always loved PhilharMagic.

00:38:15.913 --> 00:38:20.933
ALEX: And finally, we went to dinner at Liberty Tree for our final meal of the day, I think.

00:38:21.633 --> 00:38:24.893
ALEX: And then we went to Jungle Cruise right after that.

00:38:24.913 --> 00:38:25.993
ALEX: We had a lightning lane for it.

00:38:26.853 --> 00:38:31.353
ALEX: And our skipper wasn't that good, in my opinion.

00:38:31.913 --> 00:38:35.333
VIRGINIA: No, she didn't seem that enthused to be doing it.

00:38:35.513 --> 00:38:37.653
ALEX: She just seemed like she was out of it, but that's fine.

00:38:37.793 --> 00:38:38.893
VIRGINIA: I mean, it was a long day.

00:38:38.913 --> 00:38:39.773
VIRGINIA: It was really hot.

00:38:40.093 --> 00:38:41.393
VIRGINIA: We've done it a million times.

00:38:41.653 --> 00:38:43.593
VIRGINIA: We still left at the jokes.

00:38:43.893 --> 00:38:45.373
ALEX: I wish to be a skipper one day.

00:38:45.393 --> 00:38:47.713
VIRGINIA: You would make a good skipper.

00:38:47.733 --> 00:38:48.953
ALEX: I would make a great skipper, yes.

00:38:49.133 --> 00:38:51.893
ALEX: I have jokes set up, so prepared.

00:38:51.913 --> 00:38:56.333
ALEX: Anyways, then we went to Haunted Mansion, which was fun.

00:38:57.113 --> 00:38:59.453
ALEX: And then we went to Buzz Lightyear.

00:38:59.673 --> 00:39:06.253
ALEX: But then, surprisingly, well, unsurprisingly, it got broken, our little shooting things were broken.

00:39:06.253 --> 00:39:13.533
ALEX: And we asked, we were consulting with people, and they were like, okay, yeah, you can go ahead and hop on and ride it a second time.

00:39:13.553 --> 00:39:17.593
ALEX: And we both got Galactic Hero while I was wearing my Galactic Hero shirt.

00:39:18.533 --> 00:39:23.413
VIRGINIA: Yes, so as usual, we asked to ride separately because that's what we do in our family.

00:39:23.613 --> 00:39:33.533
ALEX: Because I have a history of just turning the cart as much as I can to make sure they score zero points.

00:39:34.173 --> 00:39:38.573
VIRGINIA: So anyway, I like to have control over the spinning mechanism.

00:39:39.033 --> 00:39:40.593
VIRGINIA: So we rode separately.

00:39:40.613 --> 00:39:44.773
VIRGINIA: It broke down for a minute while we were on it the first time.

00:39:44.793 --> 00:39:53.933
VIRGINIA: And what had happened was that when it broke down, when it came back up and running again in my particular.

00:39:59.153 --> 00:40:01.453
VIRGINIA: Car, the shooting functionality did not come back on.

00:40:01.473 --> 00:40:07.473
VIRGINIA: So for the last two, it was probably like a quarter of the ride, maybe a third of the ride.

00:40:07.733 --> 00:40:11.993
VIRGINIA: I was sitting there and my score was flashing, and so I couldn't do anything.

00:40:12.013 --> 00:40:13.873
VIRGINIA: And then Alex had something wrong with his too.

00:40:13.933 --> 00:40:15.113
ALEX: Mine just stopped.

00:40:15.293 --> 00:40:17.653
ALEX: It didn't do what yours did where it stopped flashing.

00:40:17.653 --> 00:40:20.053
ALEX: It just showed the same score.

00:40:20.073 --> 00:40:24.913
ALEX: It acted like I could still shoot, but every time I shot something, it would give me no points.

00:40:25.613 --> 00:40:34.553
VIRGINIA: Yeah, so when we got off, I explained to the cast member, my score was flashing as if I was done with the ride for a third of the ride.

00:40:35.373 --> 00:40:40.153
VIRGINIA: And so they were like, okay, just hop back on, you guys can ride it again.

00:40:40.453 --> 00:40:44.333
VIRGINIA: And we rode separately again that time, and we both came off Galactic Heroes.

00:40:44.353 --> 00:40:46.093
ALEX: Galactic Heroes in my Galactic Heroes shirt?

00:40:47.073 --> 00:40:50.693
VIRGINIA: And we took our Galactic Hero oath to protect the galaxy.

00:40:51.173 --> 00:40:51.893
ALEX: As always.

00:40:52.753 --> 00:40:55.013
ALEX: Then we went to Peter Pan for a lightning lane.

00:40:55.033 --> 00:40:56.653
VIRGINIA: Yeah, we had a lightning lane for that.

00:40:57.173 --> 00:41:01.653
ALEX: Then I got a little tired and I wanted to like chill out.

00:41:02.033 --> 00:41:05.793
ALEX: And I went to Dad's Alley, as we call it in our family.

00:41:05.993 --> 00:41:11.973
ALEX: It's like one of the alleys on Main Street that we like to go to to relax whenever we need to.

00:41:13.133 --> 00:41:15.333
VIRGINIA: It's the one that's just to the right of the...

00:41:15.413 --> 00:41:16.873
ALEX: No, no, don't tell them it's your secret.

00:41:17.193 --> 00:41:18.093
VIRGINIA: It's not a secret.

00:41:18.993 --> 00:41:21.533
VIRGINIA: No, no, no, we don't gatekeep here on the podcast.

00:41:21.733 --> 00:41:24.933
VIRGINIA: So it's just to the right of the Arribas Brothers crystal shop.

00:41:24.953 --> 00:41:25.813
VIRGINIA: There's that alley.

00:41:25.833 --> 00:41:29.473
VIRGINIA: And if you go all the way to the end, there's some places to sit.

00:41:29.673 --> 00:41:30.673
VIRGINIA: It's shaded.

00:41:30.853 --> 00:41:34.393
VIRGINIA: It's a nice place to just kind of get away from things.

00:41:34.413 --> 00:41:36.913
VIRGINIA: So he said, I'm going to go sit in Dad's Alley.

00:41:37.513 --> 00:41:39.693
VIRGINIA: And I wanted to watch Happily Ever After.

00:41:39.693 --> 00:41:40.333
VIRGINIA: So I did that.

00:41:40.353 --> 00:41:42.513
VIRGINIA: I got a great spot, especially because it was just me.

00:41:42.533 --> 00:41:45.573
VIRGINIA: So it was easy to get into the crowd and have a good spot to watch from.

00:41:46.133 --> 00:41:49.373
VIRGINIA: And then on the way out, we had really wanted to try the custom popcorn.

00:41:49.393 --> 00:41:57.073
VIRGINIA: So we hopped in to the confectionary and we got a butter popcorn with Twix, marshmallows and milk chocolate sauce.

00:41:57.173 --> 00:41:58.193
VIRGINIA: And it was delicious.

00:41:59.093 --> 00:42:03.333
VIRGINIA: After that, we were back at Pop Century and had our showers.

00:42:03.333 --> 00:42:07.253
VIRGINIA: And we were in bed by 1230 a.m.

00:42:07.273 --> 00:42:11.393
VIRGINIA: So now, Saturday, June 8, this was our Hollywood Studios Day.

00:42:11.393 --> 00:42:13.313
VIRGINIA: So Alex, you want to talk us through that?

00:42:15.053 --> 00:42:15.853
VIRGINIA: So I'll...

00:42:18.293 --> 00:42:19.873
ALEX: So first, we woke up at 8 a.m.

00:42:20.113 --> 00:42:20.573
ALEX: around.

00:42:21.113 --> 00:42:27.753
ALEX: And then we had a standby skipper had booked us a Slinky Dog for 9:25 a.m.

00:42:28.413 --> 00:42:29.513
ALEX: And we went on Slinky Dog.

00:42:29.853 --> 00:42:30.393
ALEX: It was...

00:42:30.813 --> 00:42:31.393
ALEX: Oh, sorry.

00:42:31.413 --> 00:42:32.593
ALEX: No, we went on Slinky Dog later.

00:42:32.973 --> 00:42:39.053
ALEX: So then we went to breakfast at Galaxy's Edge and we both had ronto wraps and a black calf cold brew.

00:42:39.733 --> 00:42:42.273
ALEX: And the cold brew, I'm just going to tell you, was not good.

00:42:42.433 --> 00:42:43.033
ALEX: It was bitter.

00:42:43.073 --> 00:42:44.113
ALEX: It was not good.

00:42:44.133 --> 00:42:44.833
ALEX: It was not for me.

00:42:45.473 --> 00:42:46.413
VIRGINIA: Not for me either.

00:42:46.413 --> 00:42:47.833
VIRGINIA: We will not be getting that again.

00:42:47.853 --> 00:42:49.213
ALEX: The ronto wraps were very good.

00:42:49.233 --> 00:42:50.713
ALEX: They were scrumdiddly umptuous.

00:42:50.733 --> 00:42:51.353
VIRGINIA: Ten out of ten.

00:42:51.713 --> 00:42:52.373
ALEX: Ten out of ten.

00:42:52.873 --> 00:43:00.853
ALEX: So then we had a Slinky Dog Lightning Lane and then I got my blue slush, you mean green slush.

00:43:01.473 --> 00:43:01.893
VIRGINIA: Whatever.

00:43:01.913 --> 00:43:02.733
VIRGINIA: You got a slush.

00:43:02.893 --> 00:43:03.813
ALEX: I got a green.

00:43:03.833 --> 00:43:10.873
ALEX: I got the traditional green slush from Woody's Lunchbox while you got an iced chai latte from Joffree's Outside Toy Story Land.

00:43:11.593 --> 00:43:24.493
ALEX: Then we decided we wanted to chill out for a second and we wanted to, we also saw like the little poster for the Inside Out 2 preview and we went to go see that and it was actually really funny.

00:43:24.613 --> 00:43:25.173
ALEX: I enjoyed it.

00:43:25.473 --> 00:43:31.053
ALEX: And we actually did see the movie yesterday and it was really good and it was funny and it was great.

00:43:31.793 --> 00:43:38.113
ALEX: And then we had a Toy Story Mania Lightning Lane where I beat you so terribly, so terribly.

00:43:39.113 --> 00:43:41.253
ALEX: It was like a thousand points off, but that don't matter.

00:43:41.713 --> 00:43:42.833
ALEX: But no, no, no, no.

00:43:42.853 --> 00:43:46.333
ALEX: I think the guy who beat me like in the car, I had like second in the car.

00:43:46.373 --> 00:43:50.553
VIRGINIA: Yeah, Alex did not get best in car, but he certainly got best on our side of the car.

00:43:50.573 --> 00:43:51.333
ALEX: Yeah, because I'm better.

00:43:52.673 --> 00:43:53.793
VIRGINIA: That game, I don't know.

00:43:53.813 --> 00:43:57.733
VIRGINIA: I want to be good at it, but it's just, it doesn't really take skill.

00:43:57.953 --> 00:43:58.473
ALEX: Not really.

00:43:58.733 --> 00:44:00.353
ALEX: You just, you just like pull as fast as you can.

00:44:00.913 --> 00:44:03.033
VIRGINIA: Well, I guess I'm just not skillful at that.

00:44:03.253 --> 00:44:08.553
ALEX: Anyways, then we had lunch at Brown Derby and we both had the tomato soup for an appetizer.

00:44:08.573 --> 00:44:10.053
ALEX: It was amazing.

00:44:10.313 --> 00:44:13.913
ALEX: And I had some mac and cheese, the shrimp mac and cheese, I think.

00:44:13.973 --> 00:44:17.453
ALEX: And I didn't want any shrimp, but I got the shrimp anyways, but it was still really good.

00:44:17.833 --> 00:44:22.253
VIRGINIA: So thank goodness you are not allergic to shrimp because Alex just didn't want shrimp.

00:44:22.273 --> 00:44:22.893
VIRGINIA: He likes shrimp.

00:44:22.913 --> 00:44:23.993
VIRGINIA: He just didn't want it this day.

00:44:24.013 --> 00:44:27.713
VIRGINIA: So he requested the mac and cheese be without shrimp and there was one piece of shrimp in it.

00:44:27.733 --> 00:44:30.993
VIRGINIA: So I would like to just give that as fair warning for anyone.

00:44:31.013 --> 00:44:32.153
ALEX: It all had shrimp, it all had shrimp.

00:44:33.553 --> 00:44:34.673
ALEX: There was shrimp everywhere.

00:44:34.953 --> 00:44:35.493
VIRGINIA: Oh, really?

00:44:35.513 --> 00:44:36.613
ALEX: Yeah, they gave me just a little more.

00:44:36.813 --> 00:44:37.153
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:44:37.333 --> 00:44:41.193
VIRGINIA: So just, you know, fair warning for anybody who is allergic to shellfish.

00:44:42.053 --> 00:44:46.793
VIRGINIA: You may not want to order the shrimp mac and cheese without the shrimp when you go to Brown Derby.

00:44:46.813 --> 00:44:48.713
ALEX: You got to be very specific about that.

00:44:48.833 --> 00:44:49.753
ALEX: Be serious about it.

00:44:49.773 --> 00:44:51.353
VIRGINIA: Well, you have to say I'm allergic to it.

00:44:51.453 --> 00:44:51.793
VIRGINIA: Yeah.

00:44:53.153 --> 00:44:58.793
ALEX: Then you had your Cobb salad and a margarita flight, which made me jealous because the drinks looked actually very good.

00:45:00.653 --> 00:45:01.073
VIRGINIA: They were.

00:45:01.093 --> 00:45:01.773
VIRGINIA: They always are.

00:45:02.413 --> 00:45:10.133
ALEX: Then we decided to cancel our Roundup Rodeo BBQ dinner so that we could have a shot of making it to the first drone show at 9 p.m.

00:45:10.253 --> 00:45:15.693
ALEX: So our reservation for Roundup Rodeo BBQ, that was going to be our very first time to eat there.

00:45:15.893 --> 00:45:20.773
VIRGINIA: But with our lunch at Brown Derby and our Ronto wraps, we were full anyway.

00:45:21.553 --> 00:45:24.873
VIRGINIA: And I did not want to chance missing that 9 p.m.

00:45:24.893 --> 00:45:28.713
VIRGINIA: drone show because if we missed that, then we had to see the 10 45 p.m.

00:45:28.733 --> 00:45:31.473
VIRGINIA: drone show and we had a four part challenge coming up the next day.

00:45:31.493 --> 00:45:36.033
VIRGINIA: So I said, Are you okay with me cancelling the Roundup Rodeo BBQ?

00:45:36.173 --> 00:45:38.293
VIRGINIA: And Alex graciously said yes.

00:45:38.413 --> 00:45:42.573
VIRGINIA: So we canceled that and we moved on with our Hollywood Studios Day.

00:45:42.973 --> 00:45:50.633
ALEX: Then after that, we went to our Tower of Terror standby and it was it was said it said 13 minutes on it.

00:45:50.653 --> 00:45:53.413
ALEX: So I was like, Mom, look, 13 minutes, we got to go for it.

00:45:53.433 --> 00:46:01.693
ALEX: That's no way because as most people know, if it says 13 minutes on the Tower of Terror standby, it means there's no wait time at all.

00:46:02.293 --> 00:46:08.153
ALEX: So then right after that, we went for a lightning lane on Tower of Terror and then I wanted to hang out at Galaxy's Edge.

00:46:08.713 --> 00:46:09.853
ALEX: So I headed over there.

00:46:09.933 --> 00:46:12.113
ALEX: Well, you did some shopping and you didn't buy anything.

00:46:12.393 --> 00:46:18.253
ALEX: So but you know, and then we met up in Galaxy's Edge and it was hot.

00:46:18.313 --> 00:46:25.673
ALEX: So we wanted a cold beverage and a cast member suggested the Tatooine Sunset from Ronto Roasters.

00:46:26.073 --> 00:46:34.213
ALEX: So we both got one and it was like on Arnold Palmer, which is like lemonade and iced tea, but with blueberry flavor added.

00:46:34.553 --> 00:46:35.333
VIRGINIA: It was so good.

00:46:35.353 --> 00:46:36.113
ALEX: It was very good.

00:46:36.233 --> 00:46:37.253
VIRGINIA: It was very refreshing.

00:46:37.273 --> 00:46:38.153
ALEX: It was very refreshing too.

00:46:38.173 --> 00:46:38.353
ALEX: Yes.

00:46:38.913 --> 00:46:55.113
ALEX: And then we went to the Millennium Falcon lightning lane and it was, we were both pilots and we asked to do Chewie mode on it and they were like, oh, we're not supposed to do this anymore, but we'll do it because I guess the cast members were friends and like one of the cast members like really liked us.

00:46:55.693 --> 00:47:02.913
VIRGINIA: So then after Millennium Falcon, I was wearing my new shirt this day, which was a mashup Star Wars and Muppets shirt.

00:47:02.973 --> 00:47:07.693
VIRGINIA: It was Pepe the King Prawn and it said Prawn Solo.

00:47:08.973 --> 00:47:13.653
VIRGINIA: So I wanted to get some photos in Galaxy's Edge with that shirt on.

00:47:13.673 --> 00:47:21.593
VIRGINIA: So I did some photos at two different PhotoPass stops and I can't even think that I've looked at them yet.

00:47:21.613 --> 00:47:23.373
VIRGINIA: So I need to check those out and see what they look like.

00:47:23.673 --> 00:47:24.893
ALEX: Anyway, it is.

00:47:24.973 --> 00:47:32.893
ALEX: Then we went to Oga's Cantina because I love Oga's Cantina and we shared an Oga's Obsession, which was like really good.

00:47:32.913 --> 00:47:41.233
ALEX: It was like lemonade, cotton candy flavored with blueberry popping pearls with like bursting dried fruit mixture.

00:47:41.353 --> 00:47:41.633
ALEX: Okay.

00:47:43.453 --> 00:47:46.953
VIRGINIA: We're reading directly from the description that they have on their menu.

00:47:47.073 --> 00:47:53.193
ALEX: Then I had a Java juice, which was like orange with pineapple and it was like so good.

00:47:53.213 --> 00:47:57.813
ALEX: I was expecting it not to be very good, but I was like, this is really good.

00:47:58.193 --> 00:47:59.133
VIRGINIA: You had a second drink.

00:47:59.133 --> 00:48:00.513
ALEX: Yes, I had two drinks.

00:48:00.793 --> 00:48:05.393
ALEX: And then you had your like Fizz, like Bespin Fizz.

00:48:05.413 --> 00:48:14.833
VIRGINIA: Bespin Fizz, and that was a Bacardi rum, yuzu puree, pomegranate juice, and white cranberry juice with a cloud swirl.

00:48:14.853 --> 00:48:18.533
VIRGINIA: Now I can't tell you what a cloud swirl is, but it was delicious.

00:48:19.133 --> 00:48:19.473
VIRGINIA: Yes.

00:48:20.353 --> 00:48:35.013
ALEX: And the bartender there was actually very nice and he decided to just give me a cup full of those pearls, because I love the pearls there and they're so good, but it got very old very fast because I took a handful of that and just like dumped it in my mouth.

00:48:35.873 --> 00:48:36.633
ALEX: It was good though.

00:48:37.173 --> 00:48:41.013
ALEX: And then we went to the Star Tours standby because we were like, why not?

00:48:41.553 --> 00:48:45.313
ALEX: And this time was actually made me very excited and surprised.

00:48:45.333 --> 00:48:48.193
ALEX: We got the best possible lineup.

00:48:48.653 --> 00:48:50.833
ALEX: We got Darth Vader for the villain.

00:48:51.273 --> 00:48:55.113
ALEX: Then we got Mandalorian and Grogu for one of the holograms.

00:48:55.833 --> 00:49:02.493
ALEX: And for another like call, we got Ahsoka, which was pretty cool, which those were probably all new.

00:49:02.513 --> 00:49:11.833
ALEX: And I quite enjoyed the Darth Vader one, but it was a little confusing because the Mandalorian and Grogu thing takes place after Darth Vader was dead.

00:49:12.353 --> 00:49:14.773
ALEX: Not to be a nerd or anything, but it just makes no sense.

00:49:15.333 --> 00:49:31.393
ALEX: And then we took a lift to Disney Springs and I headed off to look for some Star Wars merch and you went to the Marketplace co-op in the pin store and you got a Dole Whip, I think, is what you told me.

00:49:31.553 --> 00:49:34.793
VIRGINIA: It was a Dole Whip margarita float from Swirls on the Water.

00:49:34.833 --> 00:49:35.673
VIRGINIA: It was really good.

00:49:35.693 --> 00:49:49.213
VIRGINIA: And then while I was enjoying that, one of the people I went to high school with, Ryan, was walking past and I yelled out his name and we had a quick hug and I got to meet his family and you know, small world, right?

00:49:49.233 --> 00:49:51.933
ALEX: After all, it's a small world.

00:49:53.333 --> 00:49:58.393
ALEX: And then I found my little like a little like Star Wars thing that I got.

00:49:58.413 --> 00:50:02.453
ALEX: It was like a, I think it was like Dejarik is what it's called.

00:50:02.853 --> 00:50:07.173
ALEX: But it was like that little board game that they have in the Millennium Falcon that they play in the movies.

00:50:07.553 --> 00:50:08.673
ALEX: And it's so cool.

00:50:08.733 --> 00:50:09.493
ALEX: It is so cool.

00:50:09.653 --> 00:50:12.153
VIRGINIA: It looks like the Star Wars version.

00:50:12.773 --> 00:50:16.873
ALEX: And then we had dinner at the Polite Pig.

00:50:17.333 --> 00:50:21.013
ALEX: I had one of the salads and you had a pig sandwich with potato salad.

00:50:21.653 --> 00:50:23.953
ALEX: And the potato salad was good because I got to try it.

00:50:24.553 --> 00:50:31.153
ALEX: And then we went to the trading post so I could get my Star Wars game because we had like this whole issue where it was like shipping and stuff.

00:50:31.733 --> 00:50:33.473
ALEX: And the shipping was way too much money.

00:50:33.493 --> 00:50:35.373
ALEX: It was like what, 50 bucks, 100 bucks.

00:50:35.913 --> 00:50:39.213
VIRGINIA: Okay, so the game was $100.

00:50:40.053 --> 00:50:44.013
VIRGINIA: And we got a 20% discount because of our AP slash GVC.

00:50:44.033 --> 00:50:45.213
VIRGINIA: So that brought it down to 80.

00:50:45.873 --> 00:50:51.153
VIRGINIA: Alex had a Disney gift card for $50 that he still needed to use.

00:50:51.273 --> 00:50:53.413
VIRGINIA: So he was going to put that towards it.

00:50:53.433 --> 00:50:55.573
VIRGINIA: And I said I would kick in the $30.

00:50:56.073 --> 00:50:57.893
VIRGINIA: So we got over there, we did that.

00:50:58.133 --> 00:51:03.153
VIRGINIA: And at the counter, they had signs that said something to the effective ask about shipping things home.

00:51:03.973 --> 00:51:06.033
VIRGINIA: And this box was huge.

00:51:06.293 --> 00:51:11.373
VIRGINIA: It was huge, which is why we kind of waited to go back and get it because I was like, we don't need to carry that around.

00:51:12.233 --> 00:51:20.833
VIRGINIA: So I asked about shipping at home, as you do in these stores, and I expected to fill out a little form and have them do it directly from there.

00:51:20.853 --> 00:51:25.993
VIRGINIA: But they do not do it, at least in the trading post, one of the Star Wars stores there at Disney Springs.

00:51:26.013 --> 00:51:27.733
VIRGINIA: They will not ship directly from the store.

00:51:28.353 --> 00:51:36.053
VIRGINIA: So if you've ever shipped anything from Disney before, you know, it sort of caps out at like $25 or something, and they usually will do it right from the counter.

00:51:36.073 --> 00:51:44.913
VIRGINIA: So they directed us over to a shipping place that was kind of to the left of the trendy store.

00:51:45.153 --> 00:51:48.373
VIRGINIA: I guess it was a trendy or no, it was to the left of Marketplace Co-op.

00:51:49.093 --> 00:51:52.613
VIRGINIA: And it turned out it was just a normal UPS store.

00:51:52.633 --> 00:51:53.533
VIRGINIA: So we got in line.

00:51:53.953 --> 00:51:56.753
VIRGINIA: She said, Okay, it's going to be $32 to ship it.

00:51:57.393 --> 00:51:59.613
VIRGINIA: I said, Okay, what choice do I have?

00:51:59.773 --> 00:52:01.093
VIRGINIA: It's a huge box.

00:52:01.113 --> 00:52:03.513
VIRGINIA: There's no way we can bring that on the plane with us.

00:52:05.273 --> 00:52:08.353
VIRGINIA: And so she went and got everything ready to go.

00:52:08.453 --> 00:52:12.553
VIRGINIA: And then she's like, All right, that'll be $50 or something to that effect.

00:52:13.233 --> 00:52:21.753
VIRGINIA: And when she had quoted me the first time, it did not include the box and the shipping packing material that needed to be made.

00:52:21.773 --> 00:52:24.613
VIRGINIA: So it turned out it was like $50 something dollars to ship it.

00:52:25.553 --> 00:52:27.673
VIRGINIA: So that was not cool.

00:52:27.853 --> 00:52:29.753
VIRGINIA: But the game is cool.

00:52:30.193 --> 00:52:31.193
ALEX: And it is awesome.

00:52:31.973 --> 00:52:34.453
VIRGINIA: I have to admit, when you got it at home, it looked really cool.

00:52:34.513 --> 00:52:39.293
VIRGINIA: So all right, from there, we went and did the 9 p.m.

00:52:39.813 --> 00:52:42.073
VIRGINIA: Disney Dreams That Sore Drone Show.

00:52:42.173 --> 00:52:43.113
ALEX: And it was really cool.

00:52:43.253 --> 00:52:43.793
VIRGINIA: It was.

00:52:43.793 --> 00:52:46.033
VIRGINIA: It was kind of a nightmare to get into the viewing area.

00:52:46.053 --> 00:52:49.593
VIRGINIA: But once we were there, we had plenty of room and it was a very cool show.

00:52:50.233 --> 00:52:50.933
VIRGINIA: Glad we did it.

00:52:51.293 --> 00:52:51.733
VIRGINIA: All right.

00:52:51.933 --> 00:52:59.713
VIRGINIA: Moving on to Sunday, June night, this was our departure day and we were doing a four park challenge.

00:53:00.953 --> 00:53:08.733
VIRGINIA: So, we were starting our day in Animal Kingdom because it has the earliest opening time at 8 a.m., which means that early entry is at 7:30 a.m.

00:53:08.793 --> 00:53:11.433
VIRGINIA: So we woke up at 5:45 a.m.

00:53:11.593 --> 00:53:13.453
VIRGINIA: We were out of the room by 6.30.

00:53:13.813 --> 00:53:18.913
VIRGINIA: We checked our bags with Bell Services and we were on the bus just before 7 a.m.

00:53:18.933 --> 00:53:24.013
VIRGINIA: So while we were on the bus, I went ahead and bought us an individual lightning lane for flight of passage.

00:53:24.153 --> 00:53:29.633
VIRGINIA: And I also got an individual lightning lane for Guardians of the Galaxy for when we got over to Epcot.

00:53:30.293 --> 00:53:36.293
VIRGINIA: We were off the bus by 7:10 a.m., so we were able to go in for early entry.

00:53:36.593 --> 00:53:42.473
VIRGINIA: And in Animal Kingdom, we did what we normally do at this point, which is we headed over to Everest.

00:53:43.473 --> 00:53:45.933
VIRGINIA: And how many times did we ride Everest, Alex?

00:53:46.073 --> 00:53:47.933
ALEX: I think it was three times.

00:53:48.293 --> 00:53:51.693
VIRGINIA: Yes, not the most we've ever done in a row, but...

00:53:51.893 --> 00:53:52.493
ALEX: Not enough.

00:53:53.593 --> 00:53:58.873
VIRGINIA: But considering we were doing a four-park challenge and kind of needed to move on with our day, we went ahead and did it three times.

00:53:59.393 --> 00:54:02.813
VIRGINIA: Then we headed over to Dinosaur because it had no weight.

00:54:03.113 --> 00:54:06.293
VIRGINIA: And remember, this is the day that we did not get Genie Plus.

00:54:06.313 --> 00:54:07.773
VIRGINIA: So we were doing everything standby.

00:54:08.133 --> 00:54:14.053
VIRGINIA: From Dinosaur, we went back over to the Joffreys cart in Asia because we wanted our morning Joffreys.

00:54:14.073 --> 00:54:16.533
VIRGINIA: And I think I got the iced chai again.

00:54:16.553 --> 00:54:18.493
VIRGINIA: And I can't remember what you got.

00:54:18.513 --> 00:54:19.733
VIRGINIA: Probably another caramel macchiato.

00:54:19.753 --> 00:54:21.653
ALEX: Yeah, I probably got a caramel macchiato or something.

00:54:22.273 --> 00:54:32.293
VIRGINIA: And from there, we walked with our Joffreys over into Africa because we had intended to get our beloved corn, but apparently they don't sell that until 10 a.m.

00:54:32.313 --> 00:54:33.153
VIRGINIA: So we had to skip it.

00:54:33.153 --> 00:54:39.393
VIRGINIA: So instead, at the place where you buy the corn, they were selling sausage, egg and cheese biscuits.

00:54:39.553 --> 00:54:41.273
VIRGINIA: And so we got that for breakfast.

00:54:42.173 --> 00:54:50.113
VIRGINIA: And from there, headed around the back way past the Lion King over to Pandora, where we did our flight of passage, Lightning Lane.

00:54:50.833 --> 00:54:53.753
VIRGINIA: Then we grabbed our night blossoms on the way out.

00:54:54.173 --> 00:54:57.473
VIRGINIA: We briefly stopped in front of the Tree of Life for our photo pass.

00:54:58.273 --> 00:55:01.773
VIRGINIA: And we were at the bus stop by 10:05 a.m.

00:55:01.793 --> 00:55:04.633
VIRGINIA: and the bus pulled out by 10:19 a.m.

00:55:05.393 --> 00:55:09.653
VIRGINIA: I should say kind of how we set up this four part challenge before we move any further.

00:55:09.673 --> 00:55:16.553
VIRGINIA: So our goal was at each park, we needed to take a photo in the photo by a photo pass photo.

00:55:17.333 --> 00:55:25.553
VIRGINIA: We needed to see at least one attraction and we needed to have at least one snack or food or beverage item.

00:55:25.713 --> 00:55:27.413
VIRGINIA: So that was how we were kind of setting it up.

00:55:28.353 --> 00:55:37.653
VIRGINIA: From there, we took the bus over to Magic Kingdom and by 10.45, we were in the Magic Kingdom and pass security where we did our photo pass photo in front of the castle.

00:55:38.533 --> 00:55:41.753
VIRGINIA: And then we went and did standby for pirates.

00:55:42.433 --> 00:55:44.273
VIRGINIA: So that was at about 11 a.m.

00:55:44.333 --> 00:55:46.013
VIRGINIA: and it had a 25 minute wait.

00:55:46.593 --> 00:55:47.553
VIRGINIA: So we did that.

00:55:47.573 --> 00:55:49.453
VIRGINIA: We were off the ride by 11.25.

00:55:49.473 --> 00:55:53.153
VIRGINIA: So that was pretty accurate as far as the wait time goes.

00:55:54.033 --> 00:56:00.513
VIRGINIA: And from there, we went over to Casey's Corner and we shared some corn dog nuggets and fries.

00:56:00.973 --> 00:56:04.353
VIRGINIA: And that was basically it for our Magic Kingdom time.

00:56:04.513 --> 00:56:12.213
VIRGINIA: So we took the monorail and we were over at the Ticket and Transportation Center by 12 transferring to the Epcot monorail.

00:56:12.653 --> 00:56:19.573
VIRGINIA: Epcot, we arrived at 12.20 and we did Spaceship Earth just because it was a walk on, right?

00:56:20.033 --> 00:56:21.613
ALEX: Yeah, it was quite easy.

00:56:21.753 --> 00:56:22.513
VIRGINIA: So why not?

00:56:22.573 --> 00:56:23.773
VIRGINIA: It's right there, right when you come in.

00:56:24.213 --> 00:56:29.353
VIRGINIA: And then we went over and did our individual lightning lane for Guardians of the Galaxy at 1.05.

00:56:29.653 --> 00:56:33.713
VIRGINIA: And we wanted everybody wants to rule the world again.

00:56:33.733 --> 00:56:39.313
VIRGINIA: But right before we rode, I said to Alex, I really feel like we're going to get conga.

00:56:39.333 --> 00:56:39.893
VIRGINIA: I don't know why.

00:56:39.913 --> 00:56:41.253
VIRGINIA: I just feel like we're going to get conga.

00:56:42.093 --> 00:56:44.073
VIRGINIA: And he was like, I don't know about that.

00:56:44.653 --> 00:56:45.513
VIRGINIA: And then what did we get?

00:56:47.353 --> 00:56:48.953
VIRGINIA: So apparently, I'm psychic.

00:56:52.353 --> 00:56:57.273
VIRGINIA: I made it know that we were in the first holding room by 1.20 and we were off the ride by 1.43.

00:56:58.653 --> 00:57:05.133
VIRGINIA: So about a 40-minute total experience from the moment we signed in for our individual lightning lane.

00:57:05.633 --> 00:57:18.653
VIRGINIA: From there, we headed over to the land pavilion because my friend Beccy, who is a Hufflepuff in Disney, and I were sort of texting back and forth about where we were because we knew we were going to cross paths this day.

00:57:19.093 --> 00:57:28.673
VIRGINIA: So I met up with Beccy and she was hanging out with Emma, who is EmmaEnchanted999, and Cassandra, who is Adventures with Flowers.

00:57:28.673 --> 00:57:34.193
VIRGINIA: They were already in line for Living with the Land, so they kind of hopped out real quick since it was Walk On Anyway.

00:57:34.613 --> 00:57:38.213
VIRGINIA: And then all five of us rode Living with the Land together.

00:57:38.233 --> 00:57:48.213
VIRGINIA: And from there, we were running out of time at our Epcot portion of the day, so we grabbed a quick poutine from the refreshment port and we split that.

00:57:48.913 --> 00:57:54.153
VIRGINIA: And then we rode the Skyliner over to Hollywood Studios, and this was our last park of the day.

00:57:54.173 --> 00:57:55.133
ALEX: So sad.

00:57:55.453 --> 00:57:55.893
VIRGINIA: I know.

00:57:56.453 --> 00:57:57.333
VIRGINIA: Last park of the trip.

00:57:59.593 --> 00:58:02.533
VIRGINIA: So we got to Hollywood Studios about 3 p.m.

00:58:03.313 --> 00:58:06.693
VIRGINIA: and we immediately did a photo pass in front of the Chinese theater.

00:58:07.033 --> 00:58:09.573
VIRGINIA: There were long wait times on all the rides.

00:58:09.573 --> 00:58:13.913
VIRGINIA: So our four-part challenge rule was that we needed to do one attraction.

00:58:14.813 --> 00:58:23.693
VIRGINIA: All of the rides, the waits were too long for us to be able to feel confident about getting back to Pop On Time to make it to the airport.

00:58:23.713 --> 00:58:30.593
VIRGINIA: So we decided to do the Vacation Fun Mickey Mouse shorts as our attraction because that's a walk-on.

00:58:30.753 --> 00:58:33.453
VIRGINIA: And we love those shorts, don't we?

00:58:33.473 --> 00:58:35.453
ALEX: I actually do love those shorts, yes.

00:58:36.453 --> 00:58:37.713
ALEX: It was enjoyable.

00:58:37.733 --> 00:58:42.313
VIRGINIA: Wait, so I think I can guess what your favorite part of the Vacation Fun short is.

00:58:43.073 --> 00:58:43.393
ALEX: What?

00:58:44.593 --> 00:58:45.713
VIRGINIA: It's the waiter, right?

00:58:46.433 --> 00:58:47.213
ALEX: It's the waiter.

00:58:47.613 --> 00:58:50.973
ALEX: He goes, it's basically Mickey and Minnie are going out for dinner.

00:58:51.193 --> 00:58:53.093
VIRGINIA: This is when he's wearing the really itchy sweater.

00:58:53.113 --> 00:59:00.213
ALEX: Yeah, he's wearing a very itchy sweater and they're like sitting down and the waiter comes by and he goes, can I get you all started on some drinks?

00:59:02.133 --> 00:59:04.993
ALEX: He's got like this face or it's like, it's weird.

00:59:05.013 --> 00:59:07.173
ALEX: It's like, can I get you all started on some drinks?

00:59:08.313 --> 00:59:11.233
VIRGINIA: And every time we lose it, we love that part.

00:59:12.213 --> 00:59:24.033
VIRGINIA: From there for our food in Hollywood Studios, we went over to ABC Commissary and I got the Buffalo Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Farro Salad, which the WGW runner had suggested to me a long time ago.

00:59:24.053 --> 00:59:26.473
VIRGINIA: And now I get it like every time I go to ABC Commissary.

00:59:26.873 --> 00:59:28.693
VIRGINIA: It is so good.

00:59:28.993 --> 00:59:29.653
VIRGINIA: It's so good.

00:59:29.773 --> 00:59:30.093
ALEX: Yes.

00:59:30.493 --> 00:59:37.193
ALEX: And I got a grilled chicken club sandwich with apples because just it was like, you know, all that.

00:59:37.813 --> 00:59:42.333
ALEX: And I kind of wish I had gotten the grilled cheese because it was, it looks really good and I tried it.

00:59:42.893 --> 00:59:44.633
ALEX: Then we took our Skyliner back to Pop Century.

00:59:45.193 --> 00:59:48.893
ALEX: And before our departure, about like we had like about 45 minutes to kill.

00:59:49.373 --> 00:59:54.133
ALEX: So we had a snack at the Pop Food Court and we both had some decaf coffees.

00:59:54.473 --> 00:59:58.053
ALEX: You had Oreo cupcake and I had an Uncrustable.

00:59:58.053 --> 01:00:03.593
VIRGINIA: We made sure our coffees were decaf because we wanted to attempt to get some rest on the plane on the way home.

01:00:04.193 --> 01:00:11.553
VIRGINIA: So we ended up getting a lift over to MZO and our flight was supposed to leave at 7:59 PM.

01:00:12.353 --> 01:00:14.813
VIRGINIA: It was about 25 minutes late, not too bad.

01:00:15.173 --> 01:00:22.233
VIRGINIA: We ended up landing at home at 10:36 PM and got a lift home from LaGuardia.

01:00:22.613 --> 01:00:27.753
VIRGINIA: At the end of the day, how did you feel about taking a mother-son trip, just the two of us?

01:00:28.093 --> 01:00:28.773
ALEX: It was great.

01:00:28.873 --> 01:00:30.893
ALEX: It was enjoyable and it was happy.

01:00:31.713 --> 01:00:32.513
VIRGINIA: Would you do it again?

01:00:32.853 --> 01:00:34.713
ALEX: I would do it again if it wasn't so short.

01:00:34.853 --> 01:00:36.693
VIRGINIA: Oh, you want to do a longer mother-son trip?

01:00:36.713 --> 01:00:38.413
ALEX: Yes, I would do it again if it was longer.

01:00:39.433 --> 01:00:46.333
VIRGINIA: What if we had the opportunity to go and we only had that amount of time or less even?

01:00:46.393 --> 01:00:50.853
VIRGINIA: Would you turn down a mother-son trip if it was like just for the weekend?

01:00:50.873 --> 01:00:53.853
ALEX: No, but I'd enjoy it more if it were longer.

01:00:54.493 --> 01:00:57.313
VIRGINIA: Obviously, I would always enjoy it more if it were longer.

01:00:58.713 --> 01:00:59.693
ALEX: Thank you for listening.

01:01:00.013 --> 01:01:04.293
VIRGINIA: Thank you for coming on this mother-son trip with me.

01:01:04.313 --> 01:01:05.913
VIRGINIA: I had a fantastic time.

01:01:06.673 --> 01:01:12.593
VIRGINIA: It was a whirlwind because we did have not that much time, but it was a great time.

01:01:12.753 --> 01:01:14.693
ALEX: It was a great time and I needed it.

01:01:14.713 --> 01:01:15.933
VIRGINIA: Yeah, I needed it too.

01:01:16.073 --> 01:01:17.033
VIRGINIA: We both needed it.

01:01:17.433 --> 01:01:26.553
VIRGINIA: I'm glad we got a chance to do that, especially because you are about to leave for camp and you're going to be gone for a month, and I'm going to miss you so much.

01:01:27.673 --> 01:01:31.173
ALEX: I don't remember the last time I cried when I came back home.

01:01:32.273 --> 01:01:34.513
ALEX: Oh, I do remember the last time I cried after camp.

01:01:35.593 --> 01:01:41.133
ALEX: You ran up to me in the middle of the street to greet me as your car pulled out.

01:01:41.153 --> 01:01:41.773
ALEX: It was so sweet.

01:01:42.213 --> 01:01:49.313
VIRGINIA: That was the very first time you went away for more than just a week, when you went away for, I think it was a month that time too.

01:01:49.413 --> 01:01:53.693
VIRGINIA: We were waiting in line to get up to the camp to get you.

01:01:54.613 --> 01:01:58.273
VIRGINIA: All the parents' cars were backed up.

01:01:58.293 --> 01:01:59.493
VIRGINIA: You couldn't get in yet.

01:01:59.513 --> 01:02:07.573
VIRGINIA: You were just basically sitting there and waiting, and I could see him up on the hill with all the other kids watching for their parents' cars.

01:02:07.953 --> 01:02:14.693
VIRGINIA: I could see him and I was just sitting there in the car, and I couldn't get to him fast enough because the traffic was at a standstill.

01:02:15.333 --> 01:02:20.113
VIRGINIA: Finally, I just said to dad, I can't do this anymore, I'm getting out of the car.

01:02:20.773 --> 01:02:29.613
VIRGINIA: So I got out of the car and I ran towards him because he wasn't allowed to run towards me, because then he would have been running off camp property without an adult.

01:02:30.153 --> 01:02:34.473
VIRGINIA: And so I ran up to him and he just immediately started crying.

01:02:34.493 --> 01:02:36.373
VIRGINIA: It was so sweet because you were maybe like seven.

01:02:36.393 --> 01:02:37.313
ALEX: It was like a movie.

01:02:37.573 --> 01:02:38.073
VIRGINIA: It was.

01:02:38.093 --> 01:02:38.993
VIRGINIA: It was a little reunion.

01:02:39.073 --> 01:02:41.313
VIRGINIA: But anyway, he's leaving for a month.

01:02:41.673 --> 01:02:42.473
VIRGINIA: I'm going to miss him.

01:02:42.553 --> 01:02:55.913
VIRGINIA: And I'm glad we I'm really glad that we got that opportunity to do that together before your summer camp experience and before you go off to high school because you just graduated from junior high on Friday.

01:02:55.953 --> 01:02:57.353
ALEX: I did graduate on Friday.

01:02:57.653 --> 01:02:58.013
VIRGINIA: Yeah.

01:02:58.113 --> 01:02:59.533
VIRGINIA: So congratulations to you.

01:02:59.653 --> 01:03:00.093
ALEX: Thank you.

01:03:00.533 --> 01:03:02.493
VIRGINIA: It's been a big weekend here in our household.

01:03:03.093 --> 01:03:05.713
VIRGINIA: So that is all we have time for today.

01:03:05.733 --> 01:03:09.173
VIRGINIA: Thank you all so much for tuning in as always.

01:03:09.493 --> 01:03:13.833
VIRGINIA: And I hope that you've learned something from our trip.

01:03:13.873 --> 01:03:16.273
VIRGINIA: And if you have any questions, definitely let us know.

01:03:16.533 --> 01:03:18.013
VIRGINIA: So that's all.

01:03:20.773 --> 01:03:24.213
VIRGINIA: Thank you again to Alex for being my Disney ride or die.

01:03:24.733 --> 01:03:29.753
VIRGINIA: On the day I'm recording this audio, we just picked you up from camp today, and we are so happy to have you home.

01:03:30.233 --> 01:03:35.053
VIRGINIA: Thanks for taking the news well, that dad and I did a spontaneous Disney weekend while you were away.

01:03:37.133 --> 01:03:41.793
VIRGINIA: Listeners, because my trip with Charles was so spontaneous, I didn't have a pre-trip episode recorded.

01:03:41.813 --> 01:03:48.193
VIRGINIA: So I think we will probably do a trip report on it, but we'll save it as a bonus episode for sometime soon.

01:03:48.213 --> 01:03:49.993
VIRGINIA: So when will it be released?

01:03:50.233 --> 01:03:51.833
VIRGINIA: Your guess is as good as mine.

01:03:51.893 --> 01:03:54.673
VIRGINIA: It will probably be spontaneous, just like the trip was.

01:03:55.593 --> 01:03:56.973
VIRGINIA: That's all I have for today.

01:03:56.993 --> 01:04:06.633
VIRGINIA: If you haven't clicked to follow or subscribe to the show, please take a second to do that now so that you will always have access to the latest episode delivered to your podcast app of choice.

01:04:07.253 --> 01:04:10.833
VIRGINIA: And until next time, keep daydreaming about where you long to be.
