Virginia sits down with Amy, a Disney Vacation Club Member and new Annual Passholder. Amy and her family have been going to Walt Disney World for years, and have traditionally planned their touring one park at a time. To spice things up on this trip, they will be trying their hand at park hopping! Since they are staying at the Riviera, they are hoping to get some relaxation in while also enjoying their time in the parks. They do not plan to try to do everything...instead, they will put their focus on their most favorite attractions.

00:00:12.234 --> 00:00:16.354
VIRGINIA: Welcome to Where I Long To Be, A Magical Trip Report Podcast.

00:00:16.354 --> 00:00:19.174
VIRGINIA: My name is Virginia, and I am your host.

00:00:19.174 --> 00:00:24.714
VIRGINIA: Merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, and happy Kwanzaa to all who are celebrating this week.

00:00:24.714 --> 00:00:31.494
VIRGINIA: Here in our house, we celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah since I grew up celebrating Christmas, and my husband grew up with Hanukkah.

00:00:31.494 --> 00:00:37.494
VIRGINIA: Both Alex and I are on winter break through the new year, but unfortunately, Charles doesn't get the whole week off.

00:00:37.494 --> 00:00:45.234
VIRGINIA: In many ways, Alex isn't getting the whole week off either, because he is currently in rehearsal for an off-off-Broadway show that will go up the second week in January.

00:00:45.234 --> 00:00:51.114
VIRGINIA: So he's extremely busy with that, but we are going to cram as much fun as we can into the week.

00:00:51.114 --> 00:00:59.294
VIRGINIA: I did not announce this in time for anyone to do any holiday shopping, but I do have merch available now in case you are interested.

00:00:59.294 --> 00:01:20.494
VIRGINIA: Some of it specifically has the podcast logo, but I also have some things that I've had a lot of fun designing, like a shirt with a margarita on the front that says, Follow Me To La Cava on the back, and a series of shirts dedicated to the different pavilions of Epcot that have a little suitcase on the front with stickers representing each of the countries, and then on the back, each is unique for the country.

00:01:20.494 --> 00:01:23.994
VIRGINIA: But for example, the Mexico shirt says, Let's go to Mexico.

00:01:23.994 --> 00:01:31.454
VIRGINIA: And by Mexico, I mean visit Donald and his caballeros, grab a snack from La Cava, and People Watch in World Showcase.

00:01:31.454 --> 00:01:35.494
VIRGINIA: So if you have a favorite pavilion in Epcot, that series is for you.

00:01:36.234 --> 00:01:39.734
VIRGINIA: I'm sure I will continue to add other designs in the new year.

00:01:39.734 --> 00:01:43.974
VIRGINIA: You can link to the merch shop through my website, which is
whereilongtobepodcast.com.

00:01:45.154 --> 00:01:47.754
VIRGINIA: Okay, let's get started with this week's guest.

00:01:47.754 --> 00:01:48.414
VIRGINIA: Are you ready?

00:01:48.414 --> 00:01:50.794
VIRGINIA: Here's Amy.

00:01:50.794 --> 00:01:52.534
VIRGINIA: Welcome to the podcast, Amy.

00:01:52.534 --> 00:01:53.894
AMY: Thank you.

00:01:53.894 --> 00:01:56.354
VIRGINIA: I'm so happy we finally got connected here.

00:01:56.354 --> 00:02:01.054
VIRGINIA: We've had some technology issues, but we're ready to go.

00:02:01.054 --> 00:02:05.034
VIRGINIA: So how are you and who are you?

00:02:05.434 --> 00:02:11.674
VIRGINIA: Tell me a little bit about your history with Disney and what makes you love Disney as much as you do.

00:02:11.674 --> 00:02:12.234
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:02:12.234 --> 00:02:14.154
AMY: Well, I live in Massachusetts.

00:02:14.154 --> 00:02:16.594
AMY: I'm a third grade teacher.

00:02:16.594 --> 00:02:20.134
AMY: I have been going to Disney for a long time.

00:02:20.134 --> 00:02:26.194
AMY: The first time I went to Disney, I was in college and then I went two more times as a young adult.

00:02:26.194 --> 00:02:32.834
AMY: I got married at 30 and my husband and I thought we would have children right away, but that was a little bit delayed.

00:02:33.054 --> 00:02:41.554
AMY: So the first family trip was in 2012, and then our next trip in 2014, we became DVC members.

00:02:41.554 --> 00:02:48.674
AMY: So we've gone nine times as a family or sometimes I might have one son and friends.

00:02:48.674 --> 00:02:50.554
AMY: Sometimes I've gone just with my husband.

00:02:50.554 --> 00:02:53.134
AMY: So we've had a variety of different trips.

00:02:53.134 --> 00:02:54.434
VIRGINIA: What is your home resort?

00:02:54.434 --> 00:03:03.314
AMY: My home resort is the Grand Floridian, which we always laugh because we're not very fancy, but that was what was available at the time.

00:03:03.314 --> 00:03:09.454
AMY: And of course, the DVC rep told us that that was the only place that we could buy points.

00:03:09.454 --> 00:03:10.254
AMY: So we did.

00:03:10.254 --> 00:03:12.534
AMY: And I've really enjoyed it.

00:03:12.534 --> 00:03:13.994
AMY: It's a great location.

00:03:13.994 --> 00:03:15.554
AMY: It's a beautiful resort.

00:03:15.554 --> 00:03:16.434
AMY: We love it.

00:03:16.434 --> 00:03:20.734
VIRGINIA: Tell me a little bit about your family makeup and who's going on this trip with you.

00:03:20.774 --> 00:03:27.434
AMY: OK, so I am married and we have two boys that are adopted from South Korea, Jack and Charlie.

00:03:27.434 --> 00:03:36.134
AMY: Charlie's coming on this trip and my husband, my older son is staying home, but I am taking him for a short trip in January.

00:03:36.134 --> 00:03:38.614
VIRGINIA: What grade is Charlie in?

00:03:38.614 --> 00:03:41.734
AMY: Charlie is a senior, so he's missing three days of school.

00:03:41.734 --> 00:03:45.334
AMY: I'm a little bit nervous about that, but I think it will be fine.

00:03:45.334 --> 00:03:48.474
AMY: And I'm a teacher, so I'm taking three personal days for the trip.

00:03:48.854 --> 00:03:51.014
VIRGINIA: So a senior, that's a big deal.

00:03:51.014 --> 00:03:52.734
VIRGINIA: This is a big year.

00:03:52.734 --> 00:03:56.494
VIRGINIA: Are you in the current college application process?

00:03:56.494 --> 00:03:57.434
AMY: Yes, we are.

00:03:57.434 --> 00:04:06.374
AMY: So Charlie just applied to UMass Amherst, and he's looking at some other schools in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

00:04:06.374 --> 00:04:09.974
VIRGINIA: One of my previous guests works at one of those institutions.

00:04:09.974 --> 00:04:12.214
VIRGINIA: I'll tell you on the side later.

00:04:14.394 --> 00:04:15.794
AMY: No, it isn't.

00:04:15.794 --> 00:04:16.474
VIRGINIA: All right.

00:04:16.474 --> 00:04:22.834
VIRGINIA: So on this trip with you and your husband, and can we say your husband's name?

00:04:22.834 --> 00:04:23.934
AMY: Sure, Joe.

00:04:23.934 --> 00:04:24.414
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:04:24.414 --> 00:04:28.814
VIRGINIA: So you, Joe, and Charlie, where will you be staying?

00:04:28.814 --> 00:04:31.134
AMY: We are staying at the Riviera.

00:04:31.134 --> 00:04:36.954
AMY: Charlie and I stayed at the Riviera for a few nights, about a year and a half ago.

00:04:36.954 --> 00:04:39.014
AMY: Joe has never stayed there.

00:04:39.014 --> 00:04:39.494
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:04:39.494 --> 00:04:41.194
VIRGINIA: Don't you love the Riviera?

00:04:41.194 --> 00:04:41.834
AMY: I do.

00:04:41.834 --> 00:04:42.314
AMY: I really do.

00:04:42.634 --> 00:04:47.954
AMY: I enjoy being so close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

00:04:48.054 --> 00:04:49.394
AMY: I just like the vibe there.

00:04:49.394 --> 00:04:52.334
AMY: I think it's a beautiful hotel.

00:04:52.334 --> 00:04:54.914
VIRGINIA: It's got such good food options.

00:04:54.914 --> 00:05:01.694
VIRGINIA: So I'm going to actually be staying there for the first time in January, and I'm super excited.

00:05:01.694 --> 00:05:01.894
AMY: Yeah.

00:05:01.894 --> 00:05:06.154
AMY: I really like having the little coffee shop right in the lobby.

00:05:06.154 --> 00:05:11.234
AMY: At Grand Floridian, you're walking so far around the back of the resort to get a coffee.

00:05:11.714 --> 00:05:12.154
VIRGINIA: Right.

00:05:12.154 --> 00:05:22.394
AMY: In the old days with Genie Plus, I would go down and get a coffee from the Riviera and then sit outside and do all of that on my phone, letting everyone else sleep.

00:05:22.394 --> 00:05:25.074
AMY: So, and I'm also excited about Barriva.

00:05:25.074 --> 00:05:28.274
AMY: I know that they have great food and drinks there.

00:05:28.274 --> 00:05:29.374
AMY: That'll be fun.

00:05:29.374 --> 00:05:34.134
VIRGINIA: I have to ask how you chose these dates because it's November.

00:05:34.134 --> 00:05:36.094
VIRGINIA: It's kind of in the middle of November.

00:05:36.094 --> 00:05:42.274
VIRGINIA: It's a little bit of an unusual time to go because it's like kind of close to Thanksgiving, but not.

00:05:42.274 --> 00:05:44.874
VIRGINIA: So what was the impetus for this trip?

00:05:44.874 --> 00:05:49.874
AMY: So I tried to get through the first term of school.

00:05:49.874 --> 00:05:53.894
AMY: I have finished the first term and I have finished my report cards.

00:05:53.894 --> 00:05:56.234
AMY: So now we're starting the second term.

00:05:56.234 --> 00:05:57.674
AMY: The same thing with my son.

00:05:57.674 --> 00:06:03.094
AMY: He's kind of finishing up the finals for the first term going into that second term.

00:06:03.094 --> 00:06:08.854
AMY: When I first booked the trip 11 months ago, I thought that food and wine would be over.

00:06:09.114 --> 00:06:12.194
AMY: So I thought the crowds would be a little bit lower.

00:06:12.194 --> 00:06:13.374
AMY: But that is not the case.

00:06:13.374 --> 00:06:15.334
AMY: Food and wine is still going on.

00:06:15.334 --> 00:06:19.314
AMY: I do really enjoy seeing everything decorated for Christmas.

00:06:19.314 --> 00:06:21.734
VIRGINIA: Do you like Food and Wine Festival?

00:06:21.734 --> 00:06:28.254
AMY: I cannot say that I ever really enjoyed the booths and walked around.

00:06:28.254 --> 00:06:31.714
AMY: So hopefully we'll get to do that a little bit this trip.

00:06:31.774 --> 00:06:41.074
VIRGINIA: Yeah, everyone I know who's been there during this year's Food and Wine has pretty consistently said that it was just kind of like me, not anything they were excited about at the booths.

00:06:41.074 --> 00:06:44.854
VIRGINIA: So I think there are better festivals out there.

00:06:45.354 --> 00:06:47.074
VIRGINIA: Flower and Garden.

00:06:47.074 --> 00:06:50.334
AMY: My husband and I are going in April during Flower and Garden.

00:06:50.334 --> 00:06:52.874
AMY: So I love the topiaries.

00:06:52.874 --> 00:06:56.474
VIRGINIA: Yeah, I love the topiaries and I love the foods that they have.

00:06:56.474 --> 00:06:59.474
VIRGINIA: I just think that the foods are, I guess, just more to my taste.

00:06:59.714 --> 00:07:04.774
VIRGINIA: So I don't know if I'll be getting down there for Flower and Garden this year and I did not last year.

00:07:04.774 --> 00:07:05.474
VIRGINIA: We will see.

00:07:05.474 --> 00:07:06.814
VIRGINIA: We will see.

00:07:06.814 --> 00:07:07.474
VIRGINIA: All right.

00:07:07.474 --> 00:07:17.474
VIRGINIA: So I know that before we started talking, you had mentioned that you have a brother who may or may not stop by on this trip.

00:07:17.474 --> 00:07:18.334
AMY: Oh my gosh.

00:07:18.334 --> 00:07:24.974
AMY: So my brother Eric, I invited him to come on the trip and he's just very laid back.

00:07:24.974 --> 00:07:27.974
AMY: He said, yeah, Amy, I might stop by.

00:07:28.754 --> 00:07:36.994
AMY: But he has decided that he cannot stop by because his cat is getting older and he's afraid to leave the cat.

00:07:36.994 --> 00:07:40.514
AMY: So we'll wait and have him come on another trip.

00:07:40.514 --> 00:07:41.154
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:07:41.154 --> 00:07:42.034
VIRGINIA: All right.

00:07:42.034 --> 00:07:47.374
AMY: My brother, honestly, is the kind of person who could just stop by in Florida.

00:07:47.374 --> 00:07:51.774
AMY: His wife is a flight attendant, so he is able to fly just paying.

00:07:51.774 --> 00:07:54.834
AMY: I think it's the tax and he's very spontaneous.

00:07:54.834 --> 00:07:57.434
AMY: Right now he's caring for his cat, Black Sabbath.

00:07:58.474 --> 00:07:59.754
VIRGINIA: Black Sabbath.

00:08:01.294 --> 00:08:03.434
VIRGINIA: I love that.

00:08:03.434 --> 00:08:05.534
VIRGINIA: That's so funny.

00:08:05.534 --> 00:08:08.114
VIRGINIA: What kind of tickets will you all have for this trip?

00:08:08.114 --> 00:08:08.934
AMY: Oh my gosh.

00:08:08.934 --> 00:08:12.434
AMY: This has been the most challenging trip that I've ever planned.

00:08:12.434 --> 00:08:17.394
AMY: So typically when we go, we just do one park a day.

00:08:17.394 --> 00:08:19.294
AMY: For this trip, we're park hopping.

00:08:19.294 --> 00:08:25.134
AMY: Charlie has a park hopper ticket, and I just purchased annual passes for Joe and me.

00:08:25.134 --> 00:08:27.234
AMY: We've never had the annual passes before.

00:08:27.454 --> 00:08:29.674
AMY: We've never done park hopping before.

00:08:29.674 --> 00:08:32.614
AMY: So this has been a different trip to plan.

00:08:32.614 --> 00:08:36.034
AMY: And obviously, I've never used the multi-pass before either.

00:08:36.034 --> 00:08:40.214
VIRGINIA: Well, that brings me to my next question is, do you plan to use multi-pass?

00:08:40.214 --> 00:08:41.274
AMY: Yes.

00:08:41.274 --> 00:08:42.154
AMY: I'm a planner.

00:08:42.154 --> 00:08:44.614
AMY: I use touring plans.

00:08:44.614 --> 00:08:46.354
AMY: I use the website.

00:08:46.354 --> 00:08:50.334
AMY: I punched in every pass that I wanted to purchase.

00:08:50.334 --> 00:08:55.354
AMY: And then somehow Saturday morning, I spaced the whole thing, which is not like me at all.

00:08:55.474 --> 00:08:57.434
AMY: But it has been quite a week.

00:08:57.514 --> 00:08:59.114
AMY: It's been a challenging week.

00:08:59.114 --> 00:09:02.014
AMY: So about 9 a.m., it dawned on me.

00:09:02.014 --> 00:09:03.914
AMY: I should be getting these passes.

00:09:03.914 --> 00:09:05.414
AMY: So I did get on my phone.

00:09:05.414 --> 00:09:07.214
AMY: I got everything that I wanted.

00:09:07.214 --> 00:09:08.834
AMY: I didn't have any issues.

00:09:08.834 --> 00:09:11.794
AMY: So we will be using that every day of the trip.

00:09:11.794 --> 00:09:12.894
VIRGINIA: Okay, perfect.

00:09:12.894 --> 00:09:16.694
VIRGINIA: My January trip, I think, is going to be my first experience with the multi-pass.

00:09:16.694 --> 00:09:17.754
VIRGINIA: So we'll see.

00:09:17.754 --> 00:09:18.854
VIRGINIA: I'm looking forward to it.

00:09:18.854 --> 00:09:25.754
VIRGINIA: But at the same time, we just keep happening to learn new systems and change things around and all of that.

00:09:25.754 --> 00:09:26.634
AMY: Exactly.

00:09:26.634 --> 00:09:33.214
AMY: The one thing that I'm sad about, I loved in the past using Genie Plus at Hollywood Studios.

00:09:33.214 --> 00:09:41.294
AMY: I love to have a relaxing morning and stack those passes and just go on one ride after another.

00:09:41.294 --> 00:09:45.714
AMY: I had a girlfriend Kim with me one time and it was February vacation.

00:09:45.714 --> 00:09:50.334
AMY: It was a very busy time and we just went on one ride after the other.

00:09:50.334 --> 00:09:52.934
AMY: For her, I think she felt like she was on a VIP tour.

00:09:53.514 --> 00:09:56.094
VIRGINIA: You get the February break as well, the President's Week?

00:09:56.094 --> 00:09:56.854
AMY: Yes.

00:09:56.854 --> 00:10:01.094
VIRGINIA: That is always when we go as a family, every President's Week.

00:10:01.094 --> 00:10:06.474
VIRGINIA: I am very much looking forward to the day that I am not beholden to the New York City public school calendar.

00:10:06.474 --> 00:10:09.134
AMY: Yes, exactly.

00:10:09.134 --> 00:10:13.014
VIRGINIA: All right, let's get into the day-to-day details then.

00:10:13.014 --> 00:10:19.714
VIRGINIA: Your trip is going to be Saturday, November 16th through Wednesday, November 20th.

00:10:19.714 --> 00:10:22.214
VIRGINIA: Saturday, what time is your flight?

00:10:22.694 --> 00:10:27.234
AMY: I think our flight is about 11 o'clock and it's flying out of Providence.

00:10:27.234 --> 00:10:34.494
AMY: Being in Massachusetts, we can choose between Boston, Manchester, New Hampshire, and Providence, Rhode Island.

00:10:34.494 --> 00:10:36.734
AMY: This trip, we're flying out of Providence.

00:10:36.734 --> 00:10:40.074
AMY: I believe we're landing in Orlando right about 2 o'clock.

00:10:40.074 --> 00:10:45.714
VIRGINIA: How do you plan to get from the airport to the Riviera?

00:10:45.714 --> 00:10:52.954
AMY: We hired a car service gear fusion and we've used them before, and we've not had any issues with them.

00:10:52.954 --> 00:11:00.594
AMY: We've used gear fusion and we've used Tiffany's town car, and we've had great experiences with both.

00:11:00.594 --> 00:11:01.154
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:11:01.154 --> 00:11:06.294
VIRGINIA: Do you have any kind of dining reservations or any plans for this very first day?

00:11:06.294 --> 00:11:18.694
AMY: So the first day, and we're just praying that we land on time because we have multi-pass set up at Magic Kingdom, and I have the park reservation for Magic Kingdom.

00:11:19.374 --> 00:11:28.374
AMY: We're supposed to be riding Tron and Spice Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and watching the fireworks, so I just have it chock full.

00:11:28.374 --> 00:11:30.474
AMY: So hopefully, that all works out.

00:11:30.474 --> 00:11:32.414
AMY: I'm a little bit nervous.

00:11:32.414 --> 00:11:35.994
VIRGINIA: Well, I can understand that because you never know what's going to happen at the airport.

00:11:35.994 --> 00:11:40.554
VIRGINIA: In your mind, what time were you thinking you would show up at Magic Kingdom?

00:11:40.554 --> 00:11:46.934
AMY: So if we land at two, I'm hoping to be at the resort by three, basically just drop off our luggage.

00:11:47.294 --> 00:11:49.334
AMY: I'm thinking we'll need to eat something.

00:11:49.334 --> 00:11:53.134
AMY: Maybe we'll try Barriva and then get into the parks.

00:11:53.134 --> 00:11:55.374
AMY: So I'm saying four o'clock.

00:11:55.374 --> 00:11:56.174
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:11:56.174 --> 00:12:12.974
VIRGINIA: In terms of being a DVC member and somebody who goes frequently and who is going to be in a two-bedroom suite, which means you're going to have plenty of space, you're going to have a full kitchen, you're going to have a washer and a dryer.

00:12:12.974 --> 00:12:14.894
VIRGINIA: It's going to be like being at home, right?

00:12:14.894 --> 00:12:16.414
VIRGINIA: Which is the point of DVC.

00:12:16.934 --> 00:12:24.954
VIRGINIA: What kind of plans have you made in terms of groceries or anything like that, that you've accounted for for this trip?

00:12:24.954 --> 00:12:27.614
AMY: So I'll order through Amazon Fresh.

00:12:27.614 --> 00:12:34.194
AMY: I think I'll have the groceries delivered Sunday morning, because I just don't know how that would work.

00:12:34.194 --> 00:12:37.014
AMY: I'm not sure what time the room will be ready.

00:12:37.014 --> 00:12:38.614
AMY: I want to get to Magic Kingdom.

00:12:38.614 --> 00:12:40.614
AMY: I'm not sure what time we're coming back.

00:12:40.614 --> 00:12:43.574
AMY: So I think I'll just have the groceries delivered Sunday morning.

00:12:44.294 --> 00:12:48.654
AMY: And I am not going to be cooking a turkey or anything in the room.

00:12:48.654 --> 00:12:52.814
AMY: I get cream for coffee, tons of water.

00:12:52.814 --> 00:13:02.234
AMY: My son is an 18-year-old, so I make sure that he has something that he can make when he makes an egg sandwich in the middle of the night, bagels, cream cheese, eggs, things like that.

00:13:02.234 --> 00:13:05.554
AMY: And then look, snap things like granola bars, things like that.

00:13:05.554 --> 00:13:07.254
VIRGINIA: Do you have an owner's locker?

00:13:07.254 --> 00:13:08.034
AMY: I do not.

00:13:08.034 --> 00:13:10.214
VIRGINIA: I keep bringing it up because I'm very curious about it.

00:13:10.294 --> 00:13:13.434
VIRGINIA: And I feel like there's going to come a day when I'm just going to go for it.

00:13:13.434 --> 00:13:15.514
VIRGINIA: But I don't have it yet.

00:13:15.514 --> 00:13:23.934
VIRGINIA: How many times a year do you get down with your DVC points specifically, not including out-of-pocket stays?

00:13:23.934 --> 00:13:28.154
AMY: It really for many years was just once a year.

00:13:28.154 --> 00:13:30.814
AMY: Just recently, it's become more often.

00:13:30.814 --> 00:13:35.734
AMY: And this year, we're going to try to go a few times just because we have the annual pass.

00:13:35.734 --> 00:13:37.314
AMY: But usually, it's once a year.

00:13:37.734 --> 00:13:41.514
AMY: But there have been years when it's been twice in the calendar year.

00:13:41.514 --> 00:13:45.794
AMY: This year, I'm going in November, January, and April.

00:13:45.794 --> 00:13:46.294
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:13:46.294 --> 00:13:46.514
VIRGINIA: Yeah.

00:13:46.514 --> 00:13:48.454
VIRGINIA: You're going to make the most of that annual pass.

00:13:48.454 --> 00:13:51.434
AMY: And when I say this year, I mean November to November.

00:13:51.434 --> 00:13:51.794
VIRGINIA: Right.

00:13:51.794 --> 00:13:57.194
VIRGINIA: As a teacher, you think of it as an academic year, which I totally get.

00:13:57.274 --> 00:13:58.674
AMY: Exactly.

00:13:58.674 --> 00:14:03.974
VIRGINIA: The annual pass thing is very addictive, especially with the DVC discount.

00:14:03.974 --> 00:14:08.194
VIRGINIA: It just makes it so much easier to make that leap.

00:14:08.194 --> 00:14:14.374
VIRGINIA: And then once you have it, it's like, well, there's a cheap flight and you can just hop down.

00:14:14.374 --> 00:14:16.594
VIRGINIA: It's a little too easy.

00:14:16.594 --> 00:14:18.434
AMY: Exactly.

00:14:18.434 --> 00:14:27.794
AMY: Another thing that made this trip challenging was at first, I thought maybe I would bring a friend and Charlie would bring a friend and Eric might stop by.

00:14:27.794 --> 00:14:29.834
AMY: Charlie decided not to bring a friend.

00:14:29.834 --> 00:14:36.394
AMY: And then my husband decided to come and he said he would like to go, but he didn't want to ride a lot of rides.

00:14:37.734 --> 00:14:40.314
AMY: So I said, would you like to golf?

00:14:40.314 --> 00:14:42.074
AMY: And he said, not necessarily.

00:14:42.074 --> 00:14:47.094
AMY: So I just had this crazy situation where Charlie wants to ride rides.

00:14:47.094 --> 00:14:49.114
AMY: He doesn't really care about shows.

00:14:49.114 --> 00:14:55.814
AMY: My brother might be stopping by and my husband wanted to go, but not ride rides, but I do feel like we've worked it all out.

00:14:55.814 --> 00:14:56.494
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:14:56.494 --> 00:15:05.014
VIRGINIA: So will Joe be coming into the park with you to do other things or is he going to kind of hang back at the resort and do some relaxing?

00:15:05.014 --> 00:15:05.794
VIRGINIA: What's his plan?

00:15:05.794 --> 00:15:08.134
AMY: Well, Saturday he'll be with us.

00:15:08.134 --> 00:15:09.674
AMY: He wants to see the fireworks.

00:15:09.674 --> 00:15:14.234
AMY: He'll go on rides like Big Thunder Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

00:15:14.234 --> 00:15:18.334
AMY: He's not interested in Tron or Space Mountain.

00:15:18.334 --> 00:15:20.474
AMY: The next day he'll stick with us.

00:15:20.614 --> 00:15:24.814
AMY: I think the third day that we're there, Charlie and I will go back to Magic Kingdom.

00:15:24.814 --> 00:15:30.074
AMY: I'm going to give Joe a break, and then he'll just come into Epcot in the evening with us.

00:15:30.074 --> 00:15:35.014
AMY: I think also there's times where he's happy to sit on a bench and eat an ice cream cone or get a beer.

00:15:35.014 --> 00:15:37.234
AMY: He's very easy going.

00:15:37.234 --> 00:15:49.114
VIRGINIA: My husband enjoys riding rides, but he also, I would say, more enjoys just sitting and soaking up the vibes to the point where he has a bench in Hollywood Studios that we call Dad's Bench, because that's where he goes and sits.

00:15:50.594 --> 00:15:51.274
VIRGINIA: And he loves it.

00:15:51.274 --> 00:15:55.174
VIRGINIA: He loves listening to the music and just sitting and chilling.

00:15:55.174 --> 00:15:58.614
VIRGINIA: Sunday, November 17th, which park are you heading to?

00:15:58.614 --> 00:15:58.914
AMY: Okay.

00:15:58.914 --> 00:16:04.594
AMY: So that morning, I'm hoping to let Charlie sleep in a little bit, again, get our groceries delivered.

00:16:04.594 --> 00:16:06.894
AMY: I'd like to go into Epcot.

00:16:06.894 --> 00:16:15.154
AMY: I really just want to go on Remy's, ride Guardians, and then head over to Animal Kingdom.

00:16:15.154 --> 00:16:18.094
AMY: We'll have lunch at Sanaa and then we'll go into the park.

00:16:18.314 --> 00:16:19.894
VIRGINIA: Have you eaten at Sanaa before?

00:16:19.894 --> 00:16:20.234
AMY: Yes.

00:16:20.234 --> 00:16:21.474
AMY: It's a family favorite.

00:16:21.474 --> 00:16:25.154
AMY: That's one of the restaurants that we go to almost every trip.

00:16:25.154 --> 00:16:25.694
VIRGINIA: Oh, wow.

00:16:25.694 --> 00:16:26.354
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:16:26.354 --> 00:16:32.374
VIRGINIA: I've only been there once, but it was delicious, especially as everyone talks about that bread service.

00:16:32.374 --> 00:16:32.994
AMY: Yes.

00:16:32.994 --> 00:16:37.294
AMY: We really like to go in at lunchtime and kind of break up the day.

00:16:37.294 --> 00:16:38.294
VIRGINIA: That's nice.

00:16:38.294 --> 00:16:42.974
VIRGINIA: You said that you have not previously been a hopper, and now you're going to be a hopper.

00:16:42.974 --> 00:16:44.634
VIRGINIA: So why the change of heart?

00:16:44.914 --> 00:16:45.914
AMY: It was really Charlie.

00:16:45.914 --> 00:16:55.394
AMY: Charlie wanted to try the park hopping and go in to the parks in the evening and see some of the shows and fireworks, so we thought we'd give it a try.

00:16:55.394 --> 00:16:59.894
AMY: I guess because it's such a short trip too, it made sense to try it.

00:16:59.894 --> 00:17:06.114
VIRGINIA: For Animal Kingdom, do you plan to stay all the way until park close, or do you have evening plans?

00:17:06.114 --> 00:17:08.294
AMY: I think we'll go on our favorites.

00:17:08.294 --> 00:17:11.674
AMY: We'll go on Avatar, the Safari.

00:17:11.674 --> 00:17:16.714
AMY: Charlie and I will go on Dinosaur as many times as we can because we love it.

00:17:17.734 --> 00:17:20.654
AMY: Joe will sit on a bench again.

00:17:20.654 --> 00:17:23.034
AMY: He doesn't love dinosaur.

00:17:23.034 --> 00:17:27.334
AMY: And then I do have dinner reservations at Toledo.

00:17:27.334 --> 00:17:32.194
AMY: I know our friends at the Main Street Dish do not like Toledo, but my son does.

00:17:32.574 --> 00:17:36.114
AMY: So, you know, I wonder if we'll get over there or not, to be honest with you.

00:17:36.114 --> 00:17:43.574
AMY: I didn't know if that was too much to go from Epcot to Sanaa, Animal Kingdom, and then go straight to a dinner reservation.

00:17:43.574 --> 00:17:45.414
AMY: So I think we'll kind of play that by ear.

00:17:45.414 --> 00:17:46.994
AMY: If we want to go, we will.

00:17:46.994 --> 00:17:50.054
AMY: If we want to stay in the park a little bit later, we can do that too.

00:17:50.054 --> 00:17:50.694
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:17:50.694 --> 00:17:53.334
VIRGINIA: When do you have to cancel that reservation if you change your mind?

00:17:53.334 --> 00:17:55.334
AMY: I think it would be two hours before.

00:17:55.334 --> 00:17:57.774
VIRGINIA: So you're gonna be on top of the time that day.

00:17:58.154 --> 00:17:59.174
AMY: Yes, I will.

00:17:59.174 --> 00:18:00.914
VIRGINIA: Get charged for that.

00:18:00.914 --> 00:18:01.554
VIRGINIA: All right.

00:18:01.554 --> 00:18:03.794
VIRGINIA: Monday, November the 18th.

00:18:03.794 --> 00:18:07.374
AMY: So on Monday, we'll let Joe relax at the resort.

00:18:07.374 --> 00:18:09.974
AMY: Charlie and I will go back to Magic Kingdom.

00:18:09.974 --> 00:18:13.774
AMY: Charlie's really excited to get on Tron as many times as possible.

00:18:13.774 --> 00:18:18.654
AMY: So hopefully we'll ride Tron twice and then just kind of do our favorites.

00:18:18.874 --> 00:18:20.974
AMY: I want to get on Peter Pan.

00:18:20.974 --> 00:18:23.034
AMY: We'll get on Big Thunder Mountain.

00:18:23.034 --> 00:18:27.894
AMY: I've never seen or haven't seen in years Mickey's Philhar Magic.

00:18:27.894 --> 00:18:29.634
AMY: I wanted to check that out.

00:18:29.634 --> 00:18:30.974
VIRGINIA: That is one of my favorites.

00:18:30.974 --> 00:18:36.954
VIRGINIA: I think you're going to go back to it after all this time and be like, why have I not been doing this?

00:18:36.954 --> 00:18:37.254
AMY: I know.

00:18:37.254 --> 00:18:39.394
AMY: So I'm excited about that.

00:18:39.394 --> 00:18:42.834
AMY: So it's really, for us, just our favorites.

00:18:42.834 --> 00:18:44.974
AMY: We're not going on every single ride.

00:18:44.974 --> 00:18:48.014
AMY: We're not there from park open to park close.

00:18:48.014 --> 00:18:51.094
AMY: Just really kind of enjoying the favorites.

00:18:51.094 --> 00:18:53.094
AMY: I'm not sure where we'll have lunch that day.

00:18:54.054 --> 00:18:57.354
AMY: I do hope to have some relaxing time in the afternoon.

00:18:57.354 --> 00:18:59.254
AMY: I'm not that good at relaxing.

00:18:59.254 --> 00:19:01.294
AMY: So hopefully we'll really do that.

00:19:01.294 --> 00:19:06.534
AMY: And then that night we'll go into Epcot, it's extended evening hours.

00:19:06.534 --> 00:19:11.074
AMY: So we'll do the Moana, which we've never done before, and the fireworks.

00:19:11.074 --> 00:19:19.014
AMY: That night for dinner, again, I have a reservation at Ravello, which is at The Four Seasons, which is on Disney property.

00:19:19.014 --> 00:19:20.194
AMY: Have you ever been there?

00:19:20.194 --> 00:19:20.974
VIRGINIA: I have not.

00:19:20.974 --> 00:19:24.034
VIRGINIA: And speaking of the Main Street Dish, they rave about it.

00:19:24.034 --> 00:19:27.034
VIRGINIA: They rave about all of the restaurants over there.

00:19:27.034 --> 00:19:33.494
VIRGINIA: So I am itching to try it, and I might try to squeeze it in for February because of everything they've said.

00:19:33.494 --> 00:19:34.774
AMY: I highly recommend it.

00:19:34.774 --> 00:19:37.274
AMY: My husband and I went on the last trip.

00:19:37.274 --> 00:19:39.054
AMY: We absolutely loved it.

00:19:39.054 --> 00:19:40.714
AMY: It's no trouble to get there.

00:19:40.714 --> 00:19:42.074
AMY: We went in an Uber.

00:19:42.074 --> 00:19:44.374
AMY: Again, it's on Disney property.

00:19:44.374 --> 00:19:50.394
AMY: It's such a gorgeous resort, and the food was amazing and very reasonably priced.

00:19:51.374 --> 00:19:52.374
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:19:52.534 --> 00:19:54.294
VIRGINIA: You're selling me on it.

00:19:54.294 --> 00:19:56.574
AMY: It is just very relaxing there.

00:19:56.574 --> 00:19:58.394
AMY: It's very relaxing.

00:19:58.394 --> 00:20:01.434
VIRGINIA: Well, I can't wait to hear about your experience with it this time.

00:20:01.434 --> 00:20:11.174
VIRGINIA: And I guess I have to figure out when my 60 days is for my February trip so that I can be on top of it and ready to make reservations.

00:20:11.174 --> 00:20:11.554
VIRGINIA: All right.

00:20:11.554 --> 00:20:14.074
VIRGINIA: Tuesday, November the 19th.

00:20:14.074 --> 00:20:16.734
AMY: So that will be the Hollywood Studios Day.

00:20:17.334 --> 00:20:22.094
AMY: So we'll get up and get over to Hollywood Studios.

00:20:22.094 --> 00:20:23.734
AMY: I have my past is set up.

00:20:23.734 --> 00:20:30.194
AMY: I have Slinky and Toy Story, Star Tours, Rise of the Resistance.

00:20:30.194 --> 00:20:32.774
AMY: So we'll again do all of our favorites.

00:20:32.774 --> 00:20:37.394
AMY: And then we'll head over to Epcot and basically Just Ride Guardians.

00:20:37.394 --> 00:20:40.514
AMY: And then hopefully get back and relax a little bit.

00:20:40.514 --> 00:20:43.374
AMY: And then that night we'll go into Disney Springs.

00:20:43.374 --> 00:20:45.514
AMY: We're going to Homecoming for the first time.

00:20:45.614 --> 00:20:46.974
AMY: I've never been there.

00:20:46.974 --> 00:20:52.754
AMY: But again, my son Charlie is a huge like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese.

00:20:52.754 --> 00:20:54.134
AMY: He's just going to love it.

00:20:54.134 --> 00:20:55.994
VIRGINIA: Does he like deviled eggs?

00:20:55.994 --> 00:20:59.014
AMY: I think that would be a hard no for him.

00:20:59.014 --> 00:21:01.034
VIRGINIA: No, it'd be a hard boiled egg.

00:21:03.474 --> 00:21:08.554
VIRGINIA: Well, if you like deviled eggs, it is a really good appetizer that they have there.

00:21:08.554 --> 00:21:13.994
VIRGINIA: And I love that style of food because I am a Tar Heel born and a Tar Heel bread.

00:21:14.134 --> 00:21:18.634
VIRGINIA: And when I die, I'll be Tar Heel dead, as we say, because I am from North Carolina.

00:21:18.634 --> 00:21:24.374
VIRGINIA: So anytime I get the chance to eat that kind of Southern style food, I'm all about it.

00:21:24.374 --> 00:21:26.134
VIRGINIA: I hope you enjoy it.

00:21:26.134 --> 00:21:28.974
VIRGINIA: If you like sweet tea, that would be a great place to order it.

00:21:28.974 --> 00:21:31.014
AMY: Okay, I will.

00:21:31.014 --> 00:21:33.734
VIRGINIA: All right, anything else planned on that Tuesday?

00:21:33.734 --> 00:21:34.714
AMY: Not really.

00:21:34.714 --> 00:21:40.974
AMY: Again, just during the trip, we're just gonna try to get onto Tron and Guardians as many times as possible.

00:21:40.974 --> 00:21:41.934
AMY: That's a priority.

00:21:43.094 --> 00:21:46.794
AMY: I'm hoping we'll see Phantasmac at some point.

00:21:46.794 --> 00:21:47.714
AMY: We'll see how that goes.

00:21:47.714 --> 00:21:51.234
AMY: And we are planning on seeing the Epcot fireworks.

00:21:51.234 --> 00:21:57.094
AMY: And I did want to ask you, I know you didn't really enjoy the Epcot fireworks that much.

00:21:57.094 --> 00:22:00.834
AMY: I was wondering though, if you had a recommendation of a good place to stand.

00:22:00.834 --> 00:22:05.294
AMY: I was thinking of trying to be in France or possibly on that bridge.

00:22:05.334 --> 00:22:07.234
VIRGINIA: Yeah, that's where we were.

00:22:07.294 --> 00:22:13.574
VIRGINIA: So we kind of had been walking from France towards the international gateway.

00:22:13.574 --> 00:22:23.474
VIRGINIA: And as you're coming up over that bridge, there is a set of stairs that go down to an area where they sometimes have like weddings and stuff right there by the water.

00:22:23.474 --> 00:22:25.194
VIRGINIA: And that was a great place to watch.

00:22:25.194 --> 00:22:26.754
VIRGINIA: I mean, it was fine.

00:22:26.754 --> 00:22:32.874
VIRGINIA: It just didn't, it didn't touch me in the way that that other shows have touched me.

00:22:35.354 --> 00:22:44.134
VIRGINIA: It's just, I think if I'm, if I'm ever there for it and I'm don't feel like doing a ride or something, I would, I would watch it again for sure.

00:22:44.154 --> 00:22:47.054
VIRGINIA: But I'm probably not going to go out of my way to watch it again.

00:22:47.054 --> 00:22:50.014
VIRGINIA: Barges aside, I was a harmonious fan.

00:22:50.014 --> 00:22:51.494
VIRGINIA: So that's why.

00:22:51.494 --> 00:22:52.974
VIRGINIA: But that was a great place to watch it.

00:22:52.974 --> 00:22:56.774
VIRGINIA: And then also when you're done, it was so easy to exit right there.

00:22:59.034 --> 00:23:09.654
AMY: And I am wondering where I'm going to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks because typically, if we're staying at Grand Floridian, we watch them from the Grand Floridian, which I really enjoy.

00:23:09.654 --> 00:23:12.514
AMY: I don't really enjoy being in the big crowd.

00:23:12.514 --> 00:23:20.294
AMY: So I've been researching that a little bit, trying to find a good spot, but you're not in that huge crushing crowd.

00:23:21.394 --> 00:23:23.594
VIRGINIA: Are you wanting to see the projections?

00:23:24.634 --> 00:23:25.754
AMY: I could go either way.

00:23:26.174 --> 00:23:37.634
AMY: I was thinking of maybe, I've heard standing in front of that Christmas shop, you're kind of seeing the castle from the side, that that's a good view and not as crowded.

00:23:37.634 --> 00:23:39.954
AMY: So I'll let you know how that goes.

00:23:39.954 --> 00:23:45.874
VIRGINIA: You know where else was recommended to me was, and I'm trying to think who said it.

00:23:45.874 --> 00:23:50.294
VIRGINIA: It might have been Jon, the WDW runner, maybe.

00:23:50.294 --> 00:23:56.714
VIRGINIA: It was the place in cosmic rays at the back.

00:23:56.714 --> 00:23:57.254
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:23:57.254 --> 00:24:06.494
VIRGINIA: I guess there's an exit there and you are coming out, and you're across from maybe where you buy the Cheshire Cattails pastries, right about there.

00:24:06.494 --> 00:24:15.894
VIRGINIA: I think it's the same thing as the Christmas shop where you can see the projections, but really you're mostly enjoying the fireworks, but then you're not having the crowd to deal with.

00:24:16.554 --> 00:24:16.934
AMY: Right.

00:24:16.934 --> 00:24:17.494
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:24:17.494 --> 00:24:18.174
VIRGINIA: All right.

00:24:18.174 --> 00:24:20.634
VIRGINIA: That crowd can be really overwhelming.

00:24:20.634 --> 00:24:21.654
AMY: I agree.

00:24:21.654 --> 00:24:24.094
AMY: I like to be in the Disney magic.

00:24:24.094 --> 00:24:27.614
AMY: I don't like when I get frustrated with other guests.

00:24:27.614 --> 00:24:28.274
VIRGINIA: Yeah.

00:24:28.274 --> 00:24:31.814
VIRGINIA: I sometimes am up for it and sometimes I am not.

00:24:31.814 --> 00:24:38.694
VIRGINIA: The last time we were there, I think I was by myself to watch them because nobody else wanted to.

00:24:38.694 --> 00:24:47.574
VIRGINIA: I was able to squeeze in among the crowd easily, and then I just stood there and I'm like, this is my spot, I'm not moving even though there's a million people around me.

00:24:47.574 --> 00:24:53.094
VIRGINIA: But generally, I'm not trying to get into the crowd either just because it's too much.

00:24:53.094 --> 00:24:58.414
AMY: I would even be open to riding Big Thunder Mountain during the fireworks.

00:24:58.414 --> 00:24:58.914
VIRGINIA: Yeah.

00:24:58.914 --> 00:25:01.614
AMY: Charlie and I did that one time and it was a lot of fun.

00:25:01.614 --> 00:25:02.814
VIRGINIA: It's magical.

00:25:03.974 --> 00:25:05.854
VIRGINIA: They are closing Big Thunder Mountain.

00:25:05.854 --> 00:25:13.874
VIRGINIA: I think in addition to riding Tron as many times as you can, you should probably be riding Big Thunder as many times as you can because it's going to be closed for something like a year.

00:25:15.054 --> 00:25:16.834
AMY: Are they replacing the tracks?

00:25:16.834 --> 00:25:18.174
AMY: Is that what they're doing?

00:25:18.174 --> 00:25:22.414
VIRGINIA: They're making it bigger and better, I think.

00:25:22.434 --> 00:25:26.354
VIRGINIA: One thing that I would assume that they're doing, I don't know if you've ever ridden...

00:25:26.354 --> 00:25:28.994
VIRGINIA: Have you ever been to Disneyland in California?

00:25:28.994 --> 00:25:32.294
AMY: No, but I've heard is there like an explosion at the end?

00:25:32.294 --> 00:25:33.134
VIRGINIA: Yeah.

00:25:33.134 --> 00:25:37.334
VIRGINIA: You know when you're going and it's like click, click, click and you see the bats and everything?

00:25:37.334 --> 00:25:37.934
AMY: Yes.

00:25:37.934 --> 00:25:39.594
VIRGINIA: Or maybe it's the other...

00:25:39.594 --> 00:25:43.274
VIRGINIA: You're going up, whatever, you're going up.

00:25:43.274 --> 00:25:47.574
VIRGINIA: On ours, you can kind of hear explosions, but nothing happens.

00:25:47.574 --> 00:25:54.554
VIRGINIA: In theirs, there's like lights and all kinds of effects, and so it really feels like dynamites going off.

00:25:54.554 --> 00:25:57.394
VIRGINIA: So I would imagine that they're putting that in.

00:25:57.394 --> 00:25:59.114
VIRGINIA: I'm not sure what else they're doing to it.

00:25:59.114 --> 00:26:08.574
VIRGINIA: It may also have something to do with the other things that are coming back in that area, which is probably more likely.

00:26:08.574 --> 00:26:11.334
VIRGINIA: It will be very interesting to see how all of that pans out.

00:26:11.334 --> 00:26:21.414
VIRGINIA: And to know that sort of the next time that you're back in that area after the construction is done, you'll likely be able to see whatever this Lightning McQueen thing is that they're doing, and it will be different.

00:26:21.554 --> 00:26:22.374
AMY: I'm so curious.

00:26:22.374 --> 00:26:23.894
AMY: Very curious about that.

00:26:23.894 --> 00:26:25.334
VIRGINIA: Yeah.

00:26:25.334 --> 00:26:27.054
VIRGINIA: All right.

00:26:27.054 --> 00:26:31.094
VIRGINIA: Anything else on this Tuesday the 19th, which is your last full day?

00:26:32.074 --> 00:26:32.954
AMY: Not really.

00:26:32.954 --> 00:26:39.214
AMY: Just again, our favorites at Hollywood Studio, going over, riding Guardians.

00:26:39.414 --> 00:26:46.654
AMY: We'd like to go to that store in the Japan Pavilion, let Charlie buy the candy and the fun snacks in there.

00:26:46.654 --> 00:26:49.414
AMY: I'm sure we'll stop in there.

00:26:50.074 --> 00:26:52.294
VIRGINIA: We love a Mitsukoshi moment.

00:26:53.574 --> 00:26:57.034
VIRGINIA: Wednesday, November 20th is your departure day.

00:26:57.034 --> 00:27:01.934
VIRGINIA: How much of the day do you have to enjoy before you need to head to the airport?

00:27:01.934 --> 00:27:02.794
AMY: Very little.

00:27:02.794 --> 00:27:08.254
AMY: So we're basically getting up, getting ready, checking out and getting to the airport.

00:27:08.254 --> 00:27:08.774
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:27:08.774 --> 00:27:10.754
VIRGINIA: Approximately what time is your flight?

00:27:10.754 --> 00:27:13.854
AMY: My flight is at 12.25.

00:27:13.854 --> 00:27:14.594
VIRGINIA: Okay.

00:27:14.594 --> 00:27:18.714
VIRGINIA: Is the same company going to be picking you up to take you back to the airport?

00:27:18.714 --> 00:27:19.594
AMY: Yes.

00:27:19.594 --> 00:27:23.234
VIRGINIA: That will be nice that you do not have to wait for an Uber.

00:27:23.234 --> 00:27:25.574
VIRGINIA: They will come at the time that you've asked them to come.

00:27:25.894 --> 00:27:26.474
AMY: Yes.

00:27:26.474 --> 00:27:28.734
AMY: And I'm certainly, I'm open to Uber.

00:27:28.734 --> 00:27:32.074
AMY: I just feel I like a sure thing.

00:27:32.074 --> 00:27:33.894
AMY: I like to have it all booked.

00:27:33.894 --> 00:27:36.214
AMY: It just makes me feel more comfortable.

00:27:36.214 --> 00:27:38.874
VIRGINIA: Well, this sounds like such a fun trip.

00:27:38.874 --> 00:27:43.194
VIRGINIA: Anything else that you want to share in terms of priorities and excitement?

00:27:43.194 --> 00:27:45.794
AMY: Again, I'm excited about Guardians and Tron.

00:27:45.794 --> 00:27:49.954
AMY: I'm excited to enjoy some of our favorite snacks.

00:27:49.954 --> 00:27:53.234
AMY: We love to get the ice cream in the France Pavilion.

00:27:53.894 --> 00:27:56.494
AMY: We like to get a beer at Baseline Tapas.

00:27:56.494 --> 00:27:58.614
AMY: Just some of our favorite things.

00:27:58.614 --> 00:28:02.214
AMY: I think we'll be getting a drink at Nomad Lounge as well.

00:28:02.214 --> 00:28:04.014
AMY: Maybe let Charlie try the churros.

00:28:04.014 --> 00:28:05.494
AMY: I think you would enjoy those.

00:28:05.494 --> 00:28:06.874
VIRGINIA: So good.

00:28:07.834 --> 00:28:12.354
AMY: Again, I do love the safari at Animal Kingdom.

00:28:12.354 --> 00:28:16.714
AMY: We're not doing it this time, but in the past, we've done that Savor the Savannah.

00:28:16.714 --> 00:28:17.414
VIRGINIA: Oh, no.

00:28:17.414 --> 00:28:18.774
VIRGINIA: How was that?

00:28:18.774 --> 00:28:20.994
AMY: Absolutely wonderful.

00:28:20.994 --> 00:28:21.614
AMY: It's funny.

00:28:21.614 --> 00:28:27.774
AMY: It was a few years ago, and we went in November, and it was ridiculously cold.

00:28:27.774 --> 00:28:35.994
AMY: Everyone in the park seemed to have on shorts and then ill-fitting winter jackets that they probably purchased at the local Walmart.

00:28:35.994 --> 00:28:37.754
AMY: It was really funny.

00:28:37.754 --> 00:28:43.054
AMY: But because it was so cold, we did Savor the Savannah, and it's around dinnertime.

00:28:43.054 --> 00:28:47.474
AMY: We were the only four people on the tour, so it was basically a private tour.

00:28:47.474 --> 00:28:50.834
AMY: There were the four of us and then two tour guides.

00:28:51.434 --> 00:28:55.114
AMY: The animals were so active, it was amazing.

00:28:55.114 --> 00:28:58.734
AMY: And then you have tapas and beer and wine.

00:28:58.734 --> 00:29:01.094
AMY: It's wonderful.

00:29:01.094 --> 00:29:07.234
AMY: But the lions were so vocal and they were standing up and they were roaring at each other.

00:29:07.234 --> 00:29:08.954
AMY: It was amazing.

00:29:08.954 --> 00:29:11.014
AMY: That's one of my favorite Disney moments.

00:29:11.054 --> 00:29:16.354
AMY: I think that and when my voice did the Jedi training at Hollywood Studios.

00:29:16.354 --> 00:29:17.134
VIRGINIA: Oh my gosh.

00:29:17.154 --> 00:29:19.594
VIRGINIA: I missed that Jedi training.

00:29:19.594 --> 00:29:21.374
VIRGINIA: So many good memories.

00:29:21.374 --> 00:29:28.374
VIRGINIA: I pulled that out for May the Fourth Be With You as like a memory video of Alex doing his little thing.

00:29:28.374 --> 00:29:30.734
VIRGINIA: And it's so cute.

00:29:30.734 --> 00:29:33.114
VIRGINIA: And I don't know why they didn't bring it back.

00:29:33.114 --> 00:29:35.254
VIRGINIA: I don't, was it staffing?

00:29:35.254 --> 00:29:35.874
VIRGINIA: I don't know.

00:29:35.874 --> 00:29:37.794
VIRGINIA: Because it seems like, I don't know.

00:29:37.794 --> 00:29:41.974
VIRGINIA: It's especially in Hollywood Studios in terms of the rides that are available.

00:29:41.974 --> 00:29:46.514
VIRGINIA: There are several that the little people cannot do because of height.

00:29:46.514 --> 00:29:46.774
VIRGINIA: Right.

00:29:46.774 --> 00:29:49.214
VIRGINIA: And that was an activity for them to do.

00:29:49.214 --> 00:29:50.594
AMY: It's such a good point.

00:29:50.594 --> 00:29:51.814
AMY: My kids loved it.

00:29:51.814 --> 00:29:56.434
AMY: And that was, again, Charlie was just a huge Star Wars fan.

00:29:56.434 --> 00:29:59.014
AMY: I think they did such a good job training the kids.

00:29:59.014 --> 00:30:00.134
AMY: It was just wonderful.

00:30:00.134 --> 00:30:00.974
AMY: It's too bad.

00:30:00.974 --> 00:30:05.754
VIRGINIA: I hope, I mean, Disney, if you're listening, we would love to have that back, you know, as, as moms.

00:30:06.634 --> 00:30:09.874
VIRGINIA: It was something that was, that was such a good time.

00:30:09.874 --> 00:30:16.334
VIRGINIA: And I had really, I had hoped that they'd have that back by the time I went last February with my nephews because they would have loved it.

00:30:16.334 --> 00:30:21.034
VIRGINIA: They loved doing the lightsaber build in the, just in the store, like the plastic ones.

00:30:21.034 --> 00:30:25.034
VIRGINIA: And I was like, how cute would that be if all my nephews and Alex were out there together?

00:30:25.034 --> 00:30:29.214
VIRGINIA: And alas, it did not happen.

00:30:29.214 --> 00:30:29.914
AMY: All right.

00:30:29.914 --> 00:30:36.814
VIRGINIA: Well, Amy, it's been fun chatting through all of your plans and I can't wait to talk to you when you get back.

00:30:36.814 --> 00:30:42.574
VIRGINIA: So have a magical trip, be safe, and we'll talk when you're back from the trip.

00:30:42.574 --> 00:30:44.794
AMY: Thank you so much.

00:30:44.794 --> 00:30:46.154
VIRGINIA: Thank you to Amy.

00:30:46.154 --> 00:30:50.774
VIRGINIA: And I hope you all will listen to the Post Trip Report, which is up and ready for you now.

00:30:50.774 --> 00:30:51.814
VIRGINIA: Happy holidays.

00:30:51.814 --> 00:30:55.374
VIRGINIA: Enjoy whatever downtime you have, hopefully with friends and family.

00:30:55.374 --> 00:30:58.434
VIRGINIA: And as always, keep daydreaming about where you long to be.
