Nats sits down with Virginia to talk through her exciting Orlando holiday plans. On this adventure, which will be May 3-26, she will be accompanied not only by her partner Scott, but her mom and dad will also be joining for a portion of the trip (a first trip to the U.S. for them!). With 14 day tickets to both Disney and Universal, there will be plenty of fun to be had. They also plan to head to Kennedy Space Center for a day, have tickets for H2O Glow Night at Typhoon Lagoon, and will definitely be eating at some of their favorite off-property area restaurants.

00:00:12.413 --> 00:00:16.133
VIRGINIA: Welcome to Where I Long To Be, A Magical Trip Report Podcast.
00:00:16.133 --> 00:00:18.593
VIRGINIA: My name is Virginia and I am your host.
00:00:18.593 --> 00:00:23.233
VIRGINIA: Today is the penultimate trip report before the end of season four.
00:00:23.233 --> 00:00:34.153
VIRGINIA: Next week, you'll hear the season finale, and then I will be taking a two-week break for June 23rd and 30th, before season five officially begins on July 7th.
00:00:34.153 --> 00:00:47.173
VIRGINIA: During those two weeks, I will be off to Anaheim, California for a work conference, and you'll never believe my luck, but that conference will be directly across the street from Disneyland and Disney California Adventure at the Anaheim Convention Center.
00:00:47.173 --> 00:00:54.053
VIRGINIA: This means I will have multiple days when I will be in the parks later in the day after my conference responsibilities are over.
00:00:54.053 --> 00:01:05.033
VIRGINIA: Of course, I plan to do a trip report to share all of the details with you, but needless to say, I am so excited because I haven't been back to Disneyland since before the pandemic.
00:01:05.033 --> 00:01:12.093
VIRGINIA: If you'll be there June 23rd through 27th, please let me know because I'd love to say hi and give you a podcast sticker.
00:01:12.093 --> 00:01:16.253
VIRGINIA: And now, let's get rolling on this week's pre-trip report.
00:01:16.253 --> 00:01:20.753
VIRGINIA: Please join me in welcoming my newest Disney friend, Nats.
00:01:22.273 --> 00:01:24.853
VIRGINIA: Welcome to the podcast, Nats.
00:01:24.853 --> 00:01:25.693
NATS: Thank you.
00:01:25.693 --> 00:01:27.513
NATS: I'm so excited to be here.
00:01:27.513 --> 00:01:29.533
VIRGINIA: I'm very happy to have you here.
00:01:29.533 --> 00:01:32.053
VIRGINIA: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
00:01:32.053 --> 00:01:32.633
VIRGINIA: Where are you from?
00:01:33.493 --> 00:01:34.733
NATS: I'm from the UK.
00:01:34.733 --> 00:01:37.953
NATS: My name is Natalie, but everyone calls me Nats.
00:01:37.953 --> 00:01:44.093
NATS: I'm originally from Scotland, so I'm from a town called Paisley, which is in Glasgow.
00:01:44.093 --> 00:01:50.713
NATS: And I moved to England when I was around 19, so around seven, eight years ago.
00:01:50.713 --> 00:01:52.293
NATS: Oh my God, it's went so quickly.
00:01:52.293 --> 00:01:55.093
NATS: Eight years ago, I moved down here.
00:01:55.093 --> 00:01:58.433
NATS: And I've got a house down here with my partner, Scott.
00:01:58.433 --> 00:02:05.133
NATS: And yeah, I am loving all things Disney at the moment and have done for so many years.
00:02:05.133 --> 00:02:10.093
NATS: I recently just started my YouTube channel and my Instagram channel.
00:02:10.093 --> 00:02:15.233
NATS: And yeah, I'm loving connecting with everyone on there, and I've met so many amazing people.
00:02:15.453 --> 00:02:18.573
NATS: So yeah, that's kind of what I'm doing at the moment.
00:02:18.573 --> 00:02:21.393
VIRGINIA: Tell us a little bit about your Instagram and your YouTube.
00:02:21.393 --> 00:02:26.353
VIRGINIA: What are you focusing on there and what is your content like?
00:02:26.353 --> 00:02:26.693
NATS: Yeah.
00:02:26.693 --> 00:02:38.773
NATS: So my content is all things Disney mostly, because when Scott and I go on holiday and we go to Orlando, we do a lot of like Universal, we do things outside the parks and so on and so forth.
00:02:38.773 --> 00:02:42.133
NATS: Most of it is kind of around all of that and what we get up to over there.
00:02:43.273 --> 00:03:02.193
NATS: I also do a little bit of like mid-size outfit videos, so like styling outfits for mid-size giros, because that's something I found really difficult when trying to like pack my case for going on holiday is trying to find something that's cute but comfy for someone who's maybe not the slimmest girl out there.
00:03:02.193 --> 00:03:04.993
NATS: So yeah, I do a lot of that kind of over there.
00:03:04.993 --> 00:03:08.933
NATS: And then, yeah, just kind of connecting with people that are doing similar things to me.
00:03:09.653 --> 00:03:19.193
NATS: I do touch a little bit on kind of my personal life and I've been going through a fertility struggle for the past kind of four years.
00:03:19.193 --> 00:03:19.833
NATS: That's okay.
00:03:19.833 --> 00:03:28.853
NATS: Scott and I, we lost, we had a miscarriage around three and a half years ago and I kind of used Disney and all of this stuff as like a way out of that.
00:03:28.853 --> 00:03:35.773
NATS: And yeah, just the struggles of that fertility journey just kind of take a toll on everyone that's facing it.
00:03:35.773 --> 00:03:46.433
NATS: So yeah, we try and keep positive by having trips booked or having something that makes us feel a little bit happier and a little bit lighter and that's what you'll find over on my channels.
00:03:46.433 --> 00:03:47.473
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:03:47.473 --> 00:04:21.473
VIRGINIA: A lot of people do that and I have told the story on the podcast before, but I didn't go to the parks a lot growing up, but in fact, I only went once in high school and then I went again as an adult and then when it really became like, oh, this is something I really like and I'm really into, was when we went with my son for the first time when he was five and it was because it was like less than, I don't know how many months, I'm going to say less than nine months for sure after my mom passed.
00:04:22.373 --> 00:04:43.613
VIRGINIA: Going to Disney was the first time after that had happened when I really felt happy and when I felt a lightness and everything had lifted for that week where I was able to just focus on magic and having a good time and watching my kid enjoy himself.
00:04:45.773 --> 00:04:50.433
VIRGINIA: It totally changed me because I was like, oh, there's this place I can go to.
00:04:50.433 --> 00:04:57.933
VIRGINIA: I think that's why I like the movies and everything, but I'm more of a Parks person because the Parks is so immersive.
00:04:58.733 --> 00:05:17.633
VIRGINIA: I have talked to a lot of people that come out of something traumatic, and when they go there, that's what turns them into a so-called Disney adult, is that they get that sense of like, oh, this is where I can escape real-world problems.
00:05:17.633 --> 00:05:22.293
NATS: For me, I think it's like when I was a kid, I grew up loving all this stuff.
00:05:22.353 --> 00:05:29.633
NATS: It's like when I then go back to the Parks now as an adult, it's like, I'm a kid again, so I've not got any of these stresses.
00:05:29.633 --> 00:05:35.393
NATS: As soon as I get through that, welcome to Disney World Archway, I'm happy again.
00:05:35.393 --> 00:05:40.613
NATS: All my worries are gone, and I'm light, and I'm airy, and I can just smile and have fun.
00:05:41.193 --> 00:05:42.953
NATS: I completely agree.
00:05:42.953 --> 00:05:45.533
VIRGINIA: How often do you get to Orlando?
00:05:46.253 --> 00:05:49.293
NATS: I've actually only been three times.
00:05:49.293 --> 00:05:52.853
NATS: I went for my first time in January 2023.
00:05:54.293 --> 00:06:00.353
NATS: Scott, he's been going since he was a little boy and he loves it, so he got me into it.
00:06:01.053 --> 00:06:04.353
NATS: We went January 2023, we did two weeks then.
00:06:04.353 --> 00:06:10.453
NATS: We then, because I loved it so much, we came home and the week later, we booked again to go in September 2023.
00:06:10.453 --> 00:06:11.813
NATS: That's how it works.
00:06:11.813 --> 00:06:13.293
NATS: Yeah.
00:06:13.293 --> 00:06:19.633
NATS: We went then in September 2023 for just over two weeks, and then we went November 2024.
00:06:20.813 --> 00:06:37.273
NATS: Then, actually, when we went in September 23, while I was there, I emailed the villa owner of the villa we were staying in, and I booked for this trip that we're about to go on for Scott's 30th birthday, as a surprise forum for his 30th.
00:06:37.273 --> 00:06:39.953
NATS: So yeah, this will be my fourth time that I'm going.
00:06:39.953 --> 00:06:41.713
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:06:41.713 --> 00:06:47.493
VIRGINIA: Seeing as where you live is close to Disneyland Paris, do you ever get over to Disneyland Paris?
00:06:47.853 --> 00:06:49.333
NATS: I haven't as of yet.
00:06:49.333 --> 00:06:54.873
NATS: I would absolutely love to, but Scott is not as keen.
00:06:54.873 --> 00:06:55.733
VIRGINIA: Why not?
00:06:55.733 --> 00:07:01.713
NATS: Purely because, so Scott, he does love the Disney parks, but I think he just loves Orlando.
00:07:01.713 --> 00:07:06.493
NATS: He loves Universal, for example, he's into all of that stuff.
00:07:06.493 --> 00:07:15.313
NATS: I think he feels if he went to Disneyland Paris, it wouldn't be as up his street as what we get at Orlando.
00:07:16.473 --> 00:07:21.233
NATS: I think he feels like he maybe wouldn't enjoy it as much, and he'd maybe be underwhelmed.
00:07:21.233 --> 00:07:23.733
NATS: But me personally, I'm desperate to go.
00:07:23.733 --> 00:07:27.113
NATS: One of my friends, Lisa, I'm always like, we should do a girls trip there.
00:07:27.113 --> 00:07:28.193
VIRGINIA: Oh, you should.
00:07:28.193 --> 00:07:28.633
NATS: Yeah.
00:07:28.633 --> 00:07:32.393
NATS: Hopefully one day we do make the trip over.
00:07:32.393 --> 00:07:34.073
NATS: But yeah, I would love to go.
00:07:34.073 --> 00:07:43.353
VIRGINIA: Orlando is the center of it all because there's the most stuff there in terms of Disney, but then also Universal is so amazing there as well.
00:07:43.353 --> 00:07:51.153
VIRGINIA: Well, have you ever considered going to the California parks where you could also do Universal and Disneyland?
00:07:51.153 --> 00:07:51.613
NATS: Yes.
00:07:51.613 --> 00:07:53.593
NATS: That is next on my bucket list.
00:07:53.593 --> 00:07:58.913
NATS: I'm desperate to go because Cars Land for me looks unbelievable.
00:07:58.913 --> 00:08:00.353
NATS: It looks incredible.
00:08:00.353 --> 00:08:04.273
NATS: We've always wanted to do LA and California, etc.
00:08:04.273 --> 00:08:04.853
NATS: anyway.
00:08:04.853 --> 00:08:13.173
NATS: So I said to Scott, we should build it in to doing a LA, Hollywood, California trip where we can see all of that stuff.
00:08:13.253 --> 00:08:17.593
NATS: But then also have that Disney fix as well and like obviously Universal.
00:08:17.593 --> 00:08:18.993
NATS: So yeah, absolutely.
00:08:18.993 --> 00:08:20.753
NATS: It is something we'd love to do.
00:08:20.753 --> 00:08:21.553
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:08:21.553 --> 00:08:27.273
VIRGINIA: There's never enough time or money to do everything we want to do when we want to do it.
00:08:27.273 --> 00:08:28.473
NATS: Exactly that.
00:08:28.473 --> 00:08:29.253
VIRGINIA: You know what?
00:08:29.253 --> 00:08:32.533
VIRGINIA: I always say it gives us something to date during about, right?
00:08:32.533 --> 00:08:33.333
NATS: Exactly that.
00:08:33.333 --> 00:08:35.513
NATS: It gives us something to work for as well.
00:08:35.513 --> 00:08:35.953
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:08:35.953 --> 00:08:36.933
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:08:36.933 --> 00:08:37.433
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:08:37.433 --> 00:08:37.793
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:08:37.793 --> 00:08:39.693
VIRGINIA: So let's talk about this trip.
00:08:39.693 --> 00:08:41.693
VIRGINIA: First of all, what are the dates of your trip?
00:08:41.953 --> 00:08:43.753
VIRGINIA: Because this is a long one.
00:08:43.753 --> 00:08:44.433
NATS: It is.
00:08:44.433 --> 00:08:52.173
NATS: So we go on the 3rd of May and we go until our flight home is the 25th of May.
00:08:52.173 --> 00:08:55.093
NATS: We land back in the UK on the 26th.
00:08:55.093 --> 00:09:00.333
NATS: So yeah, as I mentioned, I booked this for Scott's 30th birthday as like a surprise.
00:09:00.333 --> 00:09:04.233
NATS: So his birthday actually falls on the 18th of May while we're there.
00:09:04.233 --> 00:09:07.473
NATS: So he gets to celebrate over there, which is super special.
00:09:07.473 --> 00:09:09.273
VIRGINIA: Oh, that's going to be so cool.
00:09:10.093 --> 00:09:13.173
VIRGINIA: What a luxury to be able to take that much time off.
00:09:13.173 --> 00:09:20.333
VIRGINIA: I feel like in the US, people don't get nearly as much vacation typically at their jobs.
00:09:20.333 --> 00:09:27.753
VIRGINIA: Or if they do, like I have a good amount of vacation, but I can't ever take that much off at one time.
00:09:27.753 --> 00:09:34.893
VIRGINIA: Yeah, like usually a week, a week and a half is about the length of what a vacation would be for us.
00:09:35.113 --> 00:09:37.333
NATS: I've never done a trip this long before ever.
00:09:37.733 --> 00:09:42.933
NATS: And my boss was leaving my work.
00:09:42.933 --> 00:09:46.593
NATS: So I booked it with her before she left.
00:09:46.673 --> 00:09:47.713
NATS: And she approved it.
00:09:47.713 --> 00:09:48.873
NATS: And I was like, amazing.
00:09:48.873 --> 00:09:50.673
NATS: And Scott, he works for himself.
00:09:50.673 --> 00:09:52.913
NATS: So he's got his own company.
00:09:52.913 --> 00:09:54.313
NATS: So he can just kind of take it off.
00:09:54.313 --> 00:09:56.413
NATS: And he's got guys that will work while he's away.
00:09:56.413 --> 00:09:58.113
VIRGINIA: So we're pretty fortunate.
00:09:58.113 --> 00:09:59.253
VIRGINIA: That was smart.
00:09:59.253 --> 00:10:02.773
VIRGINIA: Like get her to approve it before the new person comes.
00:10:02.773 --> 00:10:05.093
VIRGINIA: And it's like, no, you can't do that.
00:10:07.713 --> 00:10:09.133
VIRGINIA: You're a smart girl.
00:10:10.853 --> 00:10:11.693
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:10:11.693 --> 00:10:14.753
VIRGINIA: So who is going to be joining you on this trip?
00:10:14.753 --> 00:10:16.613
VIRGINIA: I know Scott is going to be there.
00:10:16.613 --> 00:10:16.893
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:10:16.893 --> 00:10:18.033
VIRGINIA: Who else besides Scott, though?
00:10:18.033 --> 00:10:20.473
VIRGINIA: Because I know you have a couple other special guests.
00:10:20.473 --> 00:10:21.013
NATS: Yes.
00:10:21.013 --> 00:10:25.413
NATS: So my mom and dad are actually coming for the first two weeks of the holiday.
00:10:25.413 --> 00:10:31.033
NATS: So my mom and dad, we always say they're more like friends rather than our parents.
00:10:31.033 --> 00:10:34.253
NATS: Like we literally got on with them like they're just our friends from school.
00:10:34.813 --> 00:10:36.933
NATS: My dad is like the funniest guy I've ever met.
00:10:36.933 --> 00:10:38.913
NATS: He's like best friends with Scott.
00:10:38.913 --> 00:10:40.953
NATS: So yeah, they're both coming.
00:10:40.953 --> 00:10:45.513
NATS: Their 10-year wedding anniversary is actually the day before we fly.
00:10:45.513 --> 00:10:50.433
NATS: So we're kind of celebrating like that plus Scott's birthday.
00:10:50.433 --> 00:10:51.993
NATS: And they've never been to America.
00:10:51.993 --> 00:10:53.753
NATS: They've never been to Disney.
00:10:54.013 --> 00:10:58.693
NATS: So we've got their first time experience coming up.
00:10:58.693 --> 00:11:00.613
NATS: And we're vlogging the whole three weeks.
00:11:00.613 --> 00:11:07.013
NATS: So I'm super excited to capture their experience of it for the first time, which is going to be so special.
00:11:07.013 --> 00:11:07.413
VIRGINIA: Wow.
00:11:07.413 --> 00:11:11.053
VIRGINIA: This is going to be a trip full of firsts.
00:11:11.053 --> 00:11:11.573
NATS: Yeah.
00:11:11.573 --> 00:11:12.373
NATS: Exactly that.
00:11:12.373 --> 00:11:13.593
NATS: Exactly.
00:11:13.593 --> 00:11:14.473
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:11:14.473 --> 00:11:30.053
VIRGINIA: First of all, overall scope of things, do you have a set layout of what days you think you're doing, what parks, or are you going to leave a little bit more up in the air for spontaneity?
00:11:30.053 --> 00:11:35.373
NATS: So I've got a day-by-day itinerary with every single thing that we're doing on every single day.
00:11:35.453 --> 00:11:37.133
NATS: Oh my word.
00:11:37.173 --> 00:11:37.873
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:11:37.873 --> 00:11:47.733
NATS: We basically got 14-day tickets for Disney and Universal, because in the UK we can buy those 14-day bundle tickets.
00:11:47.733 --> 00:11:54.973
NATS: So for the first week and a half, we have Disney, and then after that, Universal then kicks in until the end of the trip.
00:11:54.973 --> 00:11:56.713
NATS: So it's kind of split like that.
00:11:56.713 --> 00:11:57.733
VIRGINIA: Oh, okay.
00:11:57.733 --> 00:12:06.913
VIRGINIA: So you're doing, you have 14-days to go into both Disney and Universal, but the 14-days for each of those are not overlapping.
00:12:06.913 --> 00:12:09.633
VIRGINIA: I mean, they are overlapping in the middle.
00:12:09.633 --> 00:12:10.673
NATS: In the middle week, yeah.
00:12:10.673 --> 00:12:16.593
NATS: But we can't do Universal on the first week, for example, and Disney ends on like the 21st or something like that.
00:12:16.953 --> 00:12:17.873
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:12:17.873 --> 00:12:20.033
VIRGINIA: So where did you get your tickets from?
00:12:20.033 --> 00:12:26.173
VIRGINIA: Because I've spoken with people from the UK who have done something similar, and it's called Florida, is it Florida Tics or something like that?
00:12:26.173 --> 00:12:27.553
NATS: Yeah, there's that one.
00:12:27.553 --> 00:12:34.533
NATS: There's also attraction tickets, but the place that we always buy ours from is Orlando attraction tickets.
00:12:34.533 --> 00:12:40.173
NATS: And just because they were the most cost-effective for us, they're actually local to us and we didn't even notice.
00:12:40.173 --> 00:12:42.373
NATS: They're like five minutes away from us.
00:12:42.373 --> 00:12:43.633
NATS: Oh, that's funny.
00:12:43.633 --> 00:12:44.193
NATS: Yeah, I know.
00:12:44.193 --> 00:12:44.973
NATS: We couldn't believe it.
00:12:45.633 --> 00:12:47.253
NATS: So yeah, we always do it on there.
00:12:48.033 --> 00:12:52.493
NATS: They have these 14-day tickets, but they also have other tickets.
00:12:52.493 --> 00:12:55.913
NATS: So if you want to do Kennedy Space Center, they've got stuff for that.
00:12:55.913 --> 00:12:59.433
NATS: They've got stuff for all the other bits in Florida as well, which is good.
00:12:59.433 --> 00:12:59.993
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:12:59.993 --> 00:13:02.273
VIRGINIA: Did you get to pick your 14 days?
00:13:02.273 --> 00:13:08.073
VIRGINIA: Were you able to say, I want my Disney 14 days to start on this date, and I want my Universal to start on this date?
00:13:08.153 --> 00:13:09.173
NATS: Yes, exactly that.
00:13:09.513 --> 00:13:14.613
NATS: So I bought a bundle which included both of those.
00:13:14.613 --> 00:13:19.373
NATS: It also included Discovery Cove as well, with a dolphin swim as well.
00:13:19.373 --> 00:13:21.353
NATS: So it included all of it.
00:13:21.353 --> 00:13:38.713
NATS: I just had to specify, Disney will start from the start of my trip, Universal will then kick in on the middle, so that then I've got to last to the end of the trip, and then my Discovery Cove day will be on a specific day, because obviously for the dolphin swim, they have to call that in and stuff.
00:13:38.713 --> 00:13:39.433
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:13:39.433 --> 00:13:40.733
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:13:40.733 --> 00:13:44.613
VIRGINIA: Are you doing any kind of add-ons?
00:13:44.613 --> 00:13:53.933
VIRGINIA: Are you doing any dining packages or multi-pass or Universal Express or anything like that?
00:13:53.933 --> 00:14:06.533
NATS: So we are not doing dining packages purely because we stay off-site in a villa, and as part of our holidays in Orlando, we love visiting Orlando restaurants.
00:14:06.533 --> 00:14:13.093
NATS: So we've got a car that we've hired and we'll drive to the US 192, which is just a road full of restaurants.
00:14:13.093 --> 00:14:16.113
NATS: We love going to international drive and trying all of those.
00:14:16.113 --> 00:14:20.153
NATS: So we tend to not do dining plans so that we can do all of that.
00:14:20.153 --> 00:14:27.033
NATS: But we have booked some dining reservations at Disney for while we're there as well.
00:14:27.033 --> 00:14:28.033
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:14:28.033 --> 00:14:30.253
VIRGINIA: Tell me about the villa that you're going to be staying in.
00:14:31.153 --> 00:14:31.393
NATS: Yeah.
00:14:31.393 --> 00:14:34.293
NATS: So we've stayed in a couple of different villas.
00:14:34.293 --> 00:14:38.693
NATS: We've booked this villa that's very, very close to the US 192.
00:14:38.693 --> 00:14:42.213
NATS: It's at an area called The Four Corners in Kissimmee.
00:14:42.213 --> 00:14:44.833
NATS: And it's a 10-minute drive from Disney.
00:14:44.833 --> 00:14:46.393
NATS: It's got its own pool.
00:14:46.393 --> 00:14:48.373
NATS: It's got a little games room.
00:14:48.373 --> 00:14:51.213
NATS: I think it's got four bedrooms.
00:14:51.213 --> 00:14:52.853
NATS: It's got the kitchen area.
00:14:53.093 --> 00:14:55.153
VIRGINIA: You can each have your own bedroom.
00:14:55.153 --> 00:14:56.033
NATS: Exactly that.
00:14:58.213 --> 00:14:59.453
NATS: But we love it.
00:14:59.453 --> 00:15:01.753
NATS: And it just gives us that freedom.
00:15:01.753 --> 00:15:19.773
NATS: Because if we want to have a break from that Disney bubble, which most of the time I don't, but Scott likes to come and chill and stuff, we have that place that feels like our own for that few weeks that we're there, where we can just chill out, we can go in the pool, which we love.
00:15:19.773 --> 00:15:25.353
NATS: And then for me, a massive part of it, which sounds so silly, is we have our own washer and dryer.
00:15:25.913 --> 00:15:29.513
NATS: And I love being able to wash my clothes.
00:15:29.513 --> 00:15:30.853
VIRGINIA: Not silly at all.
00:15:30.853 --> 00:15:36.353
VIRGINIA: So I'm a Disney Vacation Club member, and one of the things that I really enjoy is access to a washer and dryer.
00:15:36.353 --> 00:15:39.533
VIRGINIA: And I'm staying nowhere near as long as you are.
00:15:39.533 --> 00:15:44.713
VIRGINIA: It's just nice to be able to wash clothes should you need to, like if something gets dirty.
00:15:44.713 --> 00:15:48.953
VIRGINIA: And then also, you don't have to pack as much if you have access to a washer dryer.
00:15:49.633 --> 00:15:50.493
NATS: Exactly.
00:15:50.493 --> 00:15:52.453
NATS: I get comfortable in like certain outfits.
00:15:52.453 --> 00:15:56.853
NATS: And I'm like, oh, I want to wear that again so I can wash it and then I can wear it if I want to.
00:15:56.853 --> 00:15:58.933
NATS: So yeah, I love doing all that.
00:15:58.933 --> 00:15:59.513
VIRGINIA: Perfect.
00:15:59.953 --> 00:16:02.733
VIRGINIA: And you'll have a rental car for the entire time.
00:16:02.733 --> 00:16:04.313
NATS: Yeah, exactly.
00:16:04.313 --> 00:16:07.413
VIRGINIA: How do you feel about driving on the right side of the road?
00:16:07.413 --> 00:16:09.733
NATS: Oh my goodness, honestly.
00:16:09.733 --> 00:16:15.773
NATS: So Scott does most of the driving, but when we went in November, I was insured on the car as well.
00:16:16.213 --> 00:16:19.513
NATS: And Scott, he suffers really badly from migraines.
00:16:19.513 --> 00:16:24.333
NATS: So I had to get insured just in case anything like that comes up and he can't drive.
00:16:24.333 --> 00:16:34.333
NATS: So we were driving home from one of the parks one night and Scott was like, he had a migraine, so he was like sleeping in the front seat of the car and he opened his eyes.
00:16:34.333 --> 00:16:41.213
NATS: And I was like driving on the wrong side of the road, in this housing estate bit where we are.
00:16:41.213 --> 00:16:44.873
NATS: And he was like, I'm not going to say anything, I'm not going to say anything.
00:16:44.873 --> 00:16:51.733
NATS: And then the next morning I was like, I did so well driving last night and Scott was like, no, you didn't.
00:16:51.733 --> 00:16:54.813
NATS: You absolutely did not.
00:16:54.813 --> 00:16:58.313
NATS: But that's the only close call I've had.
00:16:58.313 --> 00:17:00.593
NATS: Other than that, I was absolutely fine driving over there.
00:17:00.593 --> 00:17:04.513
NATS: It's all open, straight roads, so it's a lot easier than driving in the UK.
00:17:05.253 --> 00:17:05.793
VIRGINIA: Uh-huh.
00:17:05.793 --> 00:17:06.133
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:17:06.133 --> 00:17:11.413
VIRGINIA: Well, it sounds like that happened at a place where there were no other cars driving at that time anyway.
00:17:11.413 --> 00:17:12.193
NATS: Yes, exactly.
00:17:12.193 --> 00:17:15.933
NATS: It was in like the complex where our villa is, so I was super lucky.
00:17:18.033 --> 00:17:18.313
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:17:18.313 --> 00:17:19.393
VIRGINIA: We just won't talk about that.
00:17:19.393 --> 00:17:19.813
VIRGINIA: That's all right.
00:17:19.813 --> 00:17:20.793
NATS: No.
00:17:20.793 --> 00:17:22.453
VIRGINIA: I'm not going to report you.
00:17:23.853 --> 00:17:24.553
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:17:24.553 --> 00:17:32.933
VIRGINIA: So you want to give me a general outline of your days and which parks you're going to when.
00:17:33.133 --> 00:17:33.673
NATS: Yes.
00:17:33.673 --> 00:17:37.513
NATS: So first week, like I said, we're doing a lot of Disney.
00:17:37.513 --> 00:17:51.713
NATS: So in the mornings, we'll have breakfast either at Denny's or we'll take a little snack with us to the parks, and then we'll go to, I think on the first day, we're doing Hollywood Studios.
00:17:51.713 --> 00:18:00.893
NATS: That evening or afternoon, we'll then come back to the villa and get changed, freshened up, probably have a bit of time in the swimming pool, and then we'll pop to Magic Kingdom for the fireworks that evening.
00:18:01.633 --> 00:18:10.213
NATS: And that is always our thing that we do on the first day of our holiday, just because it's like what we did the first time we went together, so we kept that going.
00:18:10.213 --> 00:18:12.373
VIRGINIA: Oh yeah, so it's now it's tradition.
00:18:12.373 --> 00:18:13.513
NATS: Yeah, exactly that.
00:18:13.513 --> 00:18:15.253
NATS: So we've got that.
00:18:15.253 --> 00:18:31.753
NATS: Then we have other days where we're doing Magic Kingdom, we're doing some Animal Kingdom in the day, and then like I say in the afternoon, late afternoon, we'll come back and chill at the pool again, and then out in the evening either to the US-192 for dinner, or we'll pop into a park for dinner.
00:18:32.913 --> 00:18:46.553
NATS: We've then on the first week as well, we've got a trip to Kennedy Space Center, because my dad really wants to go there, and we're super lucky as well because on the 11th of May, I think it is, there's a rocket launch while we're there.
00:18:46.553 --> 00:18:50.753
NATS: So we're hoping that we can try and catch that as well on one of the evenings.
00:18:50.753 --> 00:18:51.573
VIRGINIA: Wow.
00:18:51.573 --> 00:19:04.113
VIRGINIA: Well, if you are in a high enough building, even if you're not over on Kennedy Space Center property, you can see the rocket launches from the contemporary.
00:19:04.113 --> 00:19:12.013
VIRGINIA: I know that for a fact because I've watched, yeah, I've been at California Grill before when there was a rocket launch and gone out onto the balcony and watched it.
00:19:12.013 --> 00:19:12.713
NATS: Oh my goodness.
00:19:12.713 --> 00:19:13.453
NATS: I didn't know that.
00:19:13.753 --> 00:19:13.953
NATS: Yeah.
00:19:13.953 --> 00:19:16.553
VIRGINIA: As long as it's a pretty clear night.
00:19:16.693 --> 00:19:17.333
NATS: Yeah.
00:19:17.333 --> 00:19:18.613
NATS: Yeah, of course.
00:19:18.613 --> 00:19:21.633
VIRGINIA: I forgot to ask you in terms of your flight.
00:19:21.633 --> 00:19:23.693
VIRGINIA: So what time are you arriving?
00:19:24.633 --> 00:19:31.693
NATS: So our flight is from London at 10.40, which means we land around 3:30 PM.
00:19:31.693 --> 00:19:33.873
NATS: That's usually the flight that we get from London.
00:19:33.873 --> 00:19:41.913
NATS: So it means that by the time we've got our car rent or our cases, we're usually back at the villa by about half five, six, and then we can go for dinner.
00:19:41.913 --> 00:19:52.353
NATS: We usually then go to Walmart and stock up and stuff for the villa, and have a bit of a child one that evening so that we can then be fresh for Hollywood Studios the next morning super early.
00:19:53.333 --> 00:19:54.013
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:19:54.533 --> 00:19:57.613
VIRGINIA: How do you deal with the time difference?
00:19:57.613 --> 00:20:00.853
VIRGINIA: Is it fairly easy for you to get acclimated?
00:20:00.853 --> 00:20:07.733
NATS: So for me personally, I used to be a flight attendant and I used to really struggle with time difference.
00:20:07.813 --> 00:20:14.113
NATS: I remember Scott and I went on holiday to Vegas for a week, and the full week I was just drained.
00:20:14.533 --> 00:20:16.153
NATS: I could not cope with it.
00:20:16.153 --> 00:20:22.053
NATS: But when we've came to Orlando every time, I've been absolutely fine and I don't know why.
00:20:22.313 --> 00:20:27.693
NATS: I don't know if it's just because I power through and I'm on the Disney hype and the Orlando hype.
00:20:27.693 --> 00:20:31.933
NATS: But yeah, I always feel absolutely fine when I come to Orlando.
00:20:31.933 --> 00:20:33.453
NATS: So yeah.
00:20:33.453 --> 00:20:36.013
VIRGINIA: Your parents are staying for a portion of the trip.
00:20:36.013 --> 00:20:37.453
VIRGINIA: What dates are they there?
00:20:37.453 --> 00:20:47.293
NATS: So they come down to London from Scotland on the 2nd of May, the Friday, and they fly with us on the same flight on the 3rd.
00:20:47.293 --> 00:20:50.213
NATS: They then fly home on the 17th.
00:20:51.173 --> 00:20:51.933
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:20:51.933 --> 00:20:54.093
NATS: Which is the day before Scott's birthday.
00:20:54.093 --> 00:20:58.393
VIRGINIA: What other plans do you have in the general outline of things?
00:20:58.393 --> 00:20:58.713
NATS: Yes.
00:20:58.713 --> 00:21:08.373
NATS: So while we're at the park, so my dad, being Scottish, and yeah, just being him, he does love a drink.
00:21:08.373 --> 00:21:13.793
NATS: So we're actually doing the Epcot Drinking Around the World Challenge while we're there on the first week.
00:21:13.793 --> 00:21:15.773
NATS: And he's so excited for that.
00:21:15.773 --> 00:21:17.353
NATS: So we've got that coming up.
00:21:18.793 --> 00:21:25.133
NATS: We've got the Disney Four-Park Day Challenge that we're going to do as well.
00:21:25.153 --> 00:21:28.133
VIRGINIA: It sounds like you're going to go hard the entire time.
00:21:28.133 --> 00:21:28.733
NATS: Yeah.
00:21:28.733 --> 00:21:34.753
VIRGINIA: I was thinking the fact that you had so long, I was like, oh, they're going to take it easy.
00:21:34.753 --> 00:21:40.713
VIRGINIA: They're going to just like, no, you're going to like hit the ground running and not stop.
00:21:40.753 --> 00:21:51.693
NATS: Well, the last week, we were debating kind of having like a bit more of a child one for me and Scott, but we're the type of people that like, we can't sit still, like we have to be constantly on the go.
00:21:51.693 --> 00:21:55.853
NATS: So having like a full, busy itinerary is like right up our street.
00:21:55.853 --> 00:21:59.793
NATS: And because it's my parents' first time, we want to make sure they do everything.
00:21:59.793 --> 00:22:01.053
VIRGINIA: Everything, yeah.
00:22:01.053 --> 00:22:02.833
NATS: Or as much as they can.
00:22:02.833 --> 00:22:05.193
NATS: So yeah, we're doing, we're hitting the ground running basically.
00:22:05.813 --> 00:22:06.393
VIRGINIA: Wow.
00:22:06.393 --> 00:22:07.553
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:22:07.553 --> 00:22:10.853
VIRGINIA: Are you wearing any special outfits?
00:22:10.853 --> 00:22:21.673
VIRGINIA: Because when you said that you were doing the four part challenge and the drinking around the world, it made me wonder, are you getting t-shirts for these events or anything like that?
00:22:21.673 --> 00:22:40.253
NATS: So I have spoken to this Instagram page called Decor Lux, and she has created me the most beautiful printed t-shirts, and one of them, it has each of the landmarks from each of the four parks.
00:22:40.253 --> 00:22:44.053
NATS: So I'm like, that is the perfect t-shirt for my four part day challenge.
00:22:44.053 --> 00:22:46.593
NATS: So I'm wearing that on that day.
00:22:46.593 --> 00:22:55.633
NATS: The drinking around the world day, we didn't get any t-shirts made, but I cannot express to you when I say the amount of printed t-shirts I have for this holiday is not normal.
00:22:55.633 --> 00:22:58.553
NATS: I think I've got about 20 in my suitcase.
00:22:59.853 --> 00:23:09.933
NATS: And bless them, my mom and dad, they phoned me last night and they've got like matching Mickey Mouse 2025 t-shirts for the airport that they're going to wear.
00:23:09.933 --> 00:23:13.653
NATS: And my dad, he's got like, he loves Rex from Toy Story.
00:23:13.653 --> 00:23:18.413
NATS: So he's went and bought like Rex t-shirts and all of this stuff as well, bless them.
00:23:18.413 --> 00:23:20.073
NATS: So they're super excited.
00:23:21.353 --> 00:23:22.893
VIRGINIA: That's so cute.
00:23:22.893 --> 00:23:25.573
VIRGINIA: Let's talk dining reservations.
00:23:25.573 --> 00:23:30.433
VIRGINIA: I know that you said that you'll eat a lot on, I think you said 192 is the...
00:23:30.433 --> 00:23:31.793
NATS: On the US 192, yeah.
00:23:31.793 --> 00:23:32.633
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:23:32.633 --> 00:23:39.133
VIRGINIA: What kind of in-park or resort property dining reservations have you made?
00:23:39.133 --> 00:23:39.413
NATS: Yeah.
00:23:39.413 --> 00:23:44.513
NATS: So there's our favorite ever one that we've done, which actually isn't a reservation.
00:23:44.513 --> 00:23:47.953
NATS: I think it's like you join the walk-up list.
00:23:47.953 --> 00:23:53.473
NATS: Is, I can't, excuse me for the pronunciation, but I think it's called Geyser Point.
00:23:53.593 --> 00:23:55.413
NATS: You got it exactly right.
00:23:55.413 --> 00:23:56.153
NATS: Perfect.
00:23:56.153 --> 00:24:01.953
NATS: So Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge, we absolutely love, so we're going to go there.
00:24:01.953 --> 00:24:08.093
NATS: I booked Space 220, which we've never done and my dad obviously loves space, etc.
00:24:08.093 --> 00:24:11.753
NATS: So we're so excited to go and try that.
00:24:11.753 --> 00:24:19.513
NATS: For the evening of Scott's birthday, I booked STK at Disney Springs, which we've never done before.
00:24:19.513 --> 00:24:24.093
NATS: Also at Disney Springs, Summer House on the Lake, which is like the newish one, I think.
00:24:24.093 --> 00:24:25.653
VIRGINIA: It's my new favorite.
00:24:25.653 --> 00:24:26.133
NATS: Really?
00:24:26.133 --> 00:24:27.373
NATS: Oh, we've never done it.
00:24:27.373 --> 00:24:29.993
VIRGINIA: I've been twice now and I've declared it my favorite.
00:24:29.993 --> 00:24:32.473
VIRGINIA: Both times were incredible.
00:24:32.473 --> 00:24:33.133
NATS: Oh, okay.
00:24:33.133 --> 00:24:35.093
VIRGINIA: The food was so good.
00:24:35.093 --> 00:24:40.293
VIRGINIA: Both times, I got the same entree because I was so excited about it.
00:24:40.293 --> 00:24:45.493
VIRGINIA: But they have this Brussels sprout salad that is just so fresh and delicious.
00:24:48.113 --> 00:24:50.673
VIRGINIA: It's shaved Brussels sprouts and it's got peas in it.
00:24:50.673 --> 00:24:56.013
VIRGINIA: So you got little bursts of the pea flavor and it's just wonderful.
00:24:56.013 --> 00:25:00.433
VIRGINIA: I had different appetizers at each because I need to try new things, right?
00:25:00.433 --> 00:25:00.693
NATS: Yeah.
00:25:00.693 --> 00:25:03.473
VIRGINIA: I was just so looking forward to that salad.
00:25:03.473 --> 00:25:07.373
VIRGINIA: The cocktails are great and then the cookies are amazing.
00:25:07.373 --> 00:25:09.113
NATS: I've heard about these cookies.
00:25:09.113 --> 00:25:09.313
NATS: Yeah.
00:25:09.313 --> 00:25:11.133
NATS: Oh, they look incredible.
00:25:11.133 --> 00:25:19.013
VIRGINIA: I think you should get a variety of them and take them back to the villa and then you just have them to munch on for your time there.
00:25:19.013 --> 00:25:19.393
NATS: Okay.
00:25:19.393 --> 00:25:20.153
VIRGINIA: They're so good.
00:25:20.153 --> 00:25:20.893
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:25:20.893 --> 00:25:22.473
NATS: I will definitely take that on board.
00:25:22.473 --> 00:25:24.893
NATS: That's made me even more excited for that one.
00:25:24.893 --> 00:25:25.433
NATS: Yeah.
00:25:25.513 --> 00:25:27.453
VIRGINIA: It's really good.
00:25:27.453 --> 00:25:29.413
NATS: So yeah, we've got that one booked.
00:25:29.413 --> 00:25:34.273
NATS: We also, I love, have you ever done the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom?
00:25:34.273 --> 00:25:35.273
VIRGINIA: Mm-hmm.
00:25:35.273 --> 00:25:35.613
VIRGINIA: Yes.
00:25:35.653 --> 00:25:38.193
NATS: Which is like the Winnie the Pooh dining experience.
00:25:38.193 --> 00:25:40.293
NATS: So my favorite character is Eeyore.
00:25:40.293 --> 00:25:43.693
NATS: And obviously the only way to meet him there is to do that experience.
00:25:43.693 --> 00:25:47.133
NATS: But when we did it, the food was incredible.
00:25:47.133 --> 00:25:55.733
NATS: It's like a buffet style like food and the chicken, I'm a massive chicken girl and the seasoned chicken was incredible.
00:25:55.733 --> 00:25:58.393
NATS: So we're going back there definitely.
00:25:58.393 --> 00:26:06.733
NATS: And I also, I haven't booked it yet, but I want to try some sort of like character dining breakfast.
00:26:06.733 --> 00:26:10.373
NATS: I've been told that I should do, what is it called?
00:26:10.373 --> 00:26:11.793
NATS: Topolino's.
00:26:11.793 --> 00:26:13.453
VIRGINIA: Oh yeah, that's a good one.
00:26:13.593 --> 00:26:18.793
NATS: And there was another one that I've been told to try and I can't get the name of it in my head.
00:26:18.793 --> 00:26:20.873
NATS: Is it Ohana's?
00:26:20.873 --> 00:26:21.873
VIRGINIA: Ohana.
00:26:21.933 --> 00:26:22.833
NATS: Ohana, sorry.
00:26:22.833 --> 00:26:24.373
NATS: Ohana, yes.
00:26:26.193 --> 00:26:33.553
NATS: Yeah, so I've been told to try Ohana for the character breakfast date as well or the character dine in there.
00:26:33.553 --> 00:26:35.813
VIRGINIA: That one could be a little hard to get.
00:26:35.993 --> 00:26:39.493
VIRGINIA: I mean, both of them are very popular.
00:26:39.493 --> 00:26:46.753
VIRGINIA: I would say between the two, like if you're foodie and you want really good food, Topolino's is the way to go.
00:26:46.753 --> 00:26:55.593
VIRGINIA: But, you know, they're different experiences because the Ohana character breakfast is Stitch and that sort of stuff.
00:26:55.593 --> 00:27:04.933
VIRGINIA: Whereas Topolino is the Fab Four wearing very cute outfits, adorable outfits, but the food is really good there.
00:27:04.933 --> 00:27:06.273
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:27:06.273 --> 00:27:12.753
VIRGINIA: And then for Crystal Palace, you're not doing that for breakfast, you're doing it for lunch or a dinner?
00:27:12.753 --> 00:27:15.433
NATS: Yes, I did it for dinner the last time I did it.
00:27:15.493 --> 00:27:17.193
NATS: And we love the food.
00:27:17.193 --> 00:27:18.753
NATS: So yeah, we'll do that as well.
00:27:18.753 --> 00:27:19.413
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:27:19.413 --> 00:27:25.713
VIRGINIA: I went there and did the character breakfast in February and it was delicious.
00:27:25.713 --> 00:27:27.993
VIRGINIA: They have churro waffles.
00:27:29.593 --> 00:27:30.593
NATS: No way.
00:27:30.593 --> 00:27:32.433
NATS: I love churros.
00:27:32.433 --> 00:27:33.693
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:27:33.693 --> 00:27:35.273
VIRGINIA: It's really good.
00:27:35.273 --> 00:27:36.893
NATS: Oh, that changes things.
00:27:36.913 --> 00:27:39.413
VIRGINIA: You might want to consider that.
00:27:39.413 --> 00:27:41.673
NATS: Oh, that changes things.
00:27:41.673 --> 00:27:45.273
VIRGINIA: They have the churro waffles and then they also have like a soft serve ice cream.
00:27:45.933 --> 00:27:49.653
VIRGINIA: So if you want to put ice cream on top of your churro waffles, you can.
00:27:49.693 --> 00:27:50.613
VIRGINIA: And it's buffet.
00:27:50.613 --> 00:27:52.633
VIRGINIA: So you go get as much as you want.
00:27:53.013 --> 00:27:56.973
VIRGINIA: And you get to see Eeyore and all of his pals.
00:27:56.973 --> 00:27:58.413
NATS: So yeah.
00:27:58.413 --> 00:27:59.013
NATS: Okay.
00:27:59.013 --> 00:28:02.553
NATS: I'm going to have to relook at that then and rethink.
00:28:02.553 --> 00:28:07.553
NATS: Scott's going to go crazy at me when I tell him I'm changing absolutely everything.
00:28:07.553 --> 00:28:08.393
VIRGINIA: You know what though?
00:28:08.393 --> 00:28:14.453
VIRGINIA: I say book everything you think you might want and you can always cancel it in the later.
00:28:15.133 --> 00:28:16.313
VIRGINIA: You've got time.
00:28:16.313 --> 00:28:22.373
VIRGINIA: For your parents, they're going to be able to go to a portion of the Universal, right?
00:28:22.893 --> 00:28:23.573
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:28:23.573 --> 00:28:28.713
VIRGINIA: How many days of the Universal parks are they going to be able to join you for?
00:28:28.713 --> 00:28:36.973
NATS: So I'm looking at the last week of theirs and they have three or four full days that we can take them.
00:28:36.973 --> 00:28:40.253
NATS: So yeah, they're coming for three or four of those, which I think is enough.
00:28:40.253 --> 00:28:41.613
VIRGINIA: How did they do their tickets?
00:28:41.733 --> 00:28:44.513
VIRGINIA: Because you're not going to be there the same amount of time.
00:28:44.513 --> 00:28:48.413
VIRGINIA: Did they just go ahead and get the same tickets as you and it worked out price-wise?
00:28:48.413 --> 00:28:50.893
NATS: Yeah, so they bought the exact same tickets.
00:28:50.893 --> 00:28:58.773
NATS: They just, they can basically use, so they could do Universal from the beginning, but they're not, they're just splitting it to do it the same as us.
00:28:58.773 --> 00:29:03.073
NATS: So they've got access to Disney and Universal for the whole two weeks they're there.
00:29:03.173 --> 00:29:04.333
NATS: It's just hours.
00:29:04.333 --> 00:29:07.233
NATS: Our Universal kicks in halfway through the second week.
00:29:07.233 --> 00:29:07.713
VIRGINIA: Got it.
00:29:07.713 --> 00:29:08.213
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:29:08.213 --> 00:29:08.933
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:29:08.933 --> 00:29:09.513
VIRGINIA: Makes sense.
00:29:10.053 --> 00:29:14.273
VIRGINIA: Any other add-ons that you're going to be doing?
00:29:14.273 --> 00:29:15.793
VIRGINIA: Any tours?
00:29:17.153 --> 00:29:19.033
VIRGINIA: Any thing off property?
00:29:19.033 --> 00:29:23.093
VIRGINIA: I know you said Kennedy Space Center and you're doing Discovery Cove, anything else?
00:29:23.093 --> 00:29:26.373
VIRGINIA: Like going to Gator World or anything like that?
00:29:27.053 --> 00:29:34.813
NATS: So that's actually something that we've never done Gator World, but every time we've been, we've had tickets for, included in our tickets.
00:29:34.813 --> 00:29:37.873
NATS: So I think we will make the trip to Gatorland this time.
00:29:39.693 --> 00:29:58.173
NATS: My absolute favorite thing in Orlando is Celebration Lake, and we always go there in the morning and take a little Starbucks, hot chocolate with us, and we sit at the lake, we look for alligators, we then go walking around all the lakes, but they've got a bike rental there.
00:29:58.173 --> 00:30:03.573
NATS: So we really want to rent bikes this time and cycle around the lakes and then go look at the houses and stuff.
00:30:03.573 --> 00:30:04.813
NATS: So we're definitely going to do that.
00:30:06.413 --> 00:30:15.393
NATS: We are also looking at doing kayaking with the Manatees, which is a tour that I've seen on loads of different things online.
00:30:15.393 --> 00:30:20.233
NATS: So we're looking at doing that on the last week when my parents go home.
00:30:20.233 --> 00:30:24.673
NATS: We've also looked at doing segwaying around one of the national parks.
00:30:24.673 --> 00:30:28.613
NATS: So we're potentially looking at that, but I'm not entirely sure as of yet.
00:30:28.613 --> 00:30:36.573
NATS: And then Scott actually surprised me the other night, and he has booked an add-on to our trip, which I didn't know about.
00:30:36.573 --> 00:30:41.193
NATS: And it's basically Typhoon Lagoon at Disney.
00:30:41.193 --> 00:30:45.973
NATS: He's booked for us to do the H2O Glow Nights on the last week.
00:30:45.973 --> 00:30:47.213
NATS: I've never done it before.
00:30:47.213 --> 00:30:48.973
NATS: And we love water parks.
00:30:48.973 --> 00:30:50.673
NATS: So we're doing that this time.
00:30:50.673 --> 00:30:51.333
VIRGINIA: It's fun.
00:30:51.753 --> 00:30:53.673
VIRGINIA: It's really fun to be there at night.
00:30:53.673 --> 00:30:56.713
VIRGINIA: And it's nice because it's a party.
00:30:56.713 --> 00:30:59.053
VIRGINIA: So the lines are really short.
00:30:59.053 --> 00:31:01.093
VIRGINIA: So you just walk around and do whatever you want.
00:31:01.233 --> 00:31:06.273
VIRGINIA: And then they've got all the glow stuff and the DJ and just be careful.
00:31:06.273 --> 00:31:08.573
VIRGINIA: Have you been to Typhoon Lagoon before?
00:31:08.573 --> 00:31:10.513
NATS: Yeah, yeah, we've done it a lot.
00:31:10.513 --> 00:31:12.713
VIRGINIA: That wave pool.
00:31:12.713 --> 00:31:13.993
VIRGINIA: It is strong.
00:31:13.993 --> 00:31:19.633
NATS: I get motion sickness and see the little waves that are constant.
00:31:19.633 --> 00:31:21.993
NATS: I was nauseous in that pool.
00:31:21.993 --> 00:31:24.853
NATS: I was like, I have to get out of this.
00:31:24.853 --> 00:31:40.873
VIRGINIA: What blows my mind is that you can stand there with the water, maybe up to your knees, and still get knocked over, because it is so strong, even when the water gets towards the end of its wave, it's still very powerful.
00:31:40.873 --> 00:31:43.933
VIRGINIA: So not for the weak.
00:31:43.953 --> 00:31:47.653
NATS: No, and I'm the least gracious person in water ever.
00:31:47.653 --> 00:31:53.013
NATS: So I'm backwards rolling as that's hitting me, and it's hitting my legs in the air.
00:31:54.213 --> 00:31:55.653
VIRGINIA: Oh, that's funny.
00:31:55.653 --> 00:31:59.413
VIRGINIA: You got to watch your magic band there, too, if you're using a magic band.
00:31:59.553 --> 00:32:05.113
VIRGINIA: I've heard multiple people getting their magic bands knocked off in one of those things.
00:32:05.113 --> 00:32:06.633
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:32:06.633 --> 00:32:12.373
VIRGINIA: Somebody I knew, I can't remember who, but someone I knew lost their magic band entirely.
00:32:12.373 --> 00:32:22.553
VIRGINIA: I think when we were there, my husband's magic band came off and I was like, put your little protector thingy on it because we have the little slide things.
00:32:22.553 --> 00:32:25.533
VIRGINIA: So it's just got to pay attention.
00:32:25.533 --> 00:32:25.853
VIRGINIA: I don't know.
00:32:27.553 --> 00:32:28.613
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:32:28.613 --> 00:32:34.033
VIRGINIA: Anything else that you want to talk about in the excitement of your trip?
00:32:34.033 --> 00:32:35.553
NATS: I'm just looking at my itinerary.
00:32:35.553 --> 00:32:37.993
NATS: So yeah, we've obviously got all the parks.
00:32:37.993 --> 00:32:50.673
NATS: The evenings, we've got like, if we're not at a park in the evening, we've got like 192 reservations or places that we plan on going to, like there's a shuffleboard bar that we're going to because we love shuffleboards.
00:32:50.713 --> 00:32:51.233
VIRGINIA: Oh, really?
00:32:51.233 --> 00:32:52.693
VIRGINIA: Wow.
00:32:52.693 --> 00:32:53.553
NATS: Yeah.
00:32:53.553 --> 00:32:56.313
NATS: We've got top golf that we're going to go to on one of the evenings.
00:32:56.313 --> 00:33:00.013
NATS: We love mini golf, so we'll be doing all of that.
00:33:00.013 --> 00:33:09.353
NATS: But yeah, other than that, and also, sorry, one of my favorite, favorite things in Florida is Disney Springs at the water side stage.
00:33:09.353 --> 00:33:16.333
NATS: I could literally sit there all night and just not move because I just feel so happy whenever I'm sat.
00:33:16.333 --> 00:33:19.013
NATS: And there's this singer that always sings there called Tracy.
00:33:19.773 --> 00:33:22.413
NATS: And if you haven't seen him, you have to go and see him because-
00:33:22.413 --> 00:33:23.653
VIRGINIA: I'm sure I have.
00:33:23.653 --> 00:33:25.893
VIRGINIA: I just, I don't know what they look like, so I'll have to go and see him.
00:33:25.893 --> 00:33:26.953
NATS: Oh, he is incredible.
00:33:26.953 --> 00:33:27.973
NATS: He's so good.
00:33:27.973 --> 00:33:31.593
NATS: So yeah, we're so excited to go see him again.
00:33:31.593 --> 00:33:33.473
NATS: But yeah, that's pretty much it.
00:33:33.473 --> 00:33:38.893
NATS: Yeah, so all the parks, all the kind of little restaurants that we want to do outside of the park.
00:33:38.893 --> 00:33:41.713
NATS: And yeah, that's pretty much it.
00:33:41.713 --> 00:33:44.913
VIRGINIA: Oh, this is going to be such an amazing trip.
00:33:44.913 --> 00:33:47.773
VIRGINIA: I'm so jealous that you get to go for so long.
00:33:47.913 --> 00:33:57.813
VIRGINIA: It's amazing, because when you go for like a week, it's harder to convince yourself to do these things that are not right in the parks.
00:33:57.813 --> 00:34:01.993
VIRGINIA: So I have wanted to do Kennedy Space Center and that sort of thing.
00:34:01.993 --> 00:34:08.153
VIRGINIA: And we just haven't made the time for it because I've wanted to stay on property.
00:34:08.153 --> 00:34:09.953
VIRGINIA: But I need to get over there and do that.
00:34:09.953 --> 00:34:14.513
VIRGINIA: And I'd love to do Discovery Cove and that sort of thing too.
00:34:14.513 --> 00:34:20.153
VIRGINIA: And when you have as much time as you do, you just have the luxury to get it all in.
00:34:20.153 --> 00:34:21.013
NATS: Yeah.
00:34:21.013 --> 00:34:22.393
NATS: We've always been the exact same.
00:34:22.393 --> 00:34:24.893
NATS: Like Scott and I, we love space and stuff like that.
00:34:24.893 --> 00:34:27.993
NATS: So we've always said, like, oh, we'll do it this trip, we'll do it this trip.
00:34:27.993 --> 00:34:31.713
NATS: And it's just never happened because you've got so much booked in.
00:34:31.713 --> 00:34:37.093
NATS: So when we had the extra time this time and I knew my dad would love it, I was like, right, I'm making a point.
00:34:37.093 --> 00:34:38.433
NATS: We're doing it this time.
00:34:38.433 --> 00:34:40.413
NATS: So yeah, we're excited.
00:34:40.413 --> 00:34:41.693
VIRGINIA: Would you go to space if you could?
00:34:44.853 --> 00:34:46.193
NATS: Yeah, 100%.
00:34:46.573 --> 00:34:47.173
NATS: Yeah.
00:34:47.173 --> 00:34:48.933
VIRGINIA: Yeah, that was an easy answer for you.
00:34:48.933 --> 00:34:50.113
VIRGINIA: No, I'm afraid.
00:34:50.113 --> 00:34:51.153
NATS: No, really?
00:34:51.153 --> 00:34:55.453
VIRGINIA: No, there's something about infinity.
00:34:55.453 --> 00:34:55.953
NATS: Yeah.
00:34:55.953 --> 00:34:58.973
VIRGINIA: It's just I don't think I can handle it.
00:34:58.973 --> 00:35:02.573
VIRGINIA: I am okay here on Earth.
00:35:02.573 --> 00:35:04.413
NATS: I'm good with my feet on the ground.
00:35:04.493 --> 00:35:06.093
NATS: Right.
00:35:06.273 --> 00:35:07.653
VIRGINIA: I don't mind flying.
00:35:07.653 --> 00:35:11.973
VIRGINIA: I'll go up in airplanes and no problem, especially if you're taking fun places.
00:35:11.973 --> 00:35:14.213
NATS: But you're still in air at that point.
00:35:14.213 --> 00:35:15.153
VIRGINIA: Right.
00:35:15.153 --> 00:35:15.453
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:35:16.113 --> 00:35:19.413
VIRGINIA: I don't think I need to go anywhere with no gravity.
00:35:19.413 --> 00:35:25.753
VIRGINIA: When I watch space movies even, it makes me nervous when they do things outside of the spaceship.
00:35:25.873 --> 00:35:30.493
VIRGINIA: They're out there fixing something and I'm just like, oh, God, I can't.
00:35:30.493 --> 00:35:30.933
VIRGINIA: I can't.
00:35:30.933 --> 00:35:33.553
VIRGINIA: What if you just started floating away?
00:35:33.553 --> 00:35:34.513
VIRGINIA: You're never going to stop.
00:35:34.513 --> 00:35:36.593
NATS: You're just going to be floating forever.
00:35:36.593 --> 00:35:43.213
NATS: It's a scary thought as well because there was one recently where they went up and then they were stuck up there for months and months.
00:35:43.213 --> 00:35:45.233
NATS: I was like, that is insane.
00:35:45.233 --> 00:35:47.513
NATS: Imagine being away from your family for that long.
00:35:48.233 --> 00:35:48.873
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:35:48.873 --> 00:35:50.193
NATS: That's the part that scares me.
00:35:50.193 --> 00:35:53.413
NATS: But I think my curiosity would always just say, yeah.
00:35:53.413 --> 00:35:55.273
VIRGINIA: I don't recall.
00:35:55.273 --> 00:35:56.833
VIRGINIA: Did they have enough supplies?
00:35:56.953 --> 00:36:00.133
VIRGINIA: Did they have to send supplies up to them?
00:36:00.593 --> 00:36:03.413
NATS: I think they managed to send stuff up.
00:36:03.413 --> 00:36:07.653
NATS: I'm pretty sure Scott said they managed to send some bits up.
00:36:07.653 --> 00:36:12.393
NATS: But yeah, that's the part that scares me is they're not being able to come back.
00:36:12.393 --> 00:36:18.953
NATS: But like I say, I think I'd just be so curious by it that I'd be like, I have to go see.
00:36:18.953 --> 00:36:26.313
VIRGINIA: Well, since you're so gung-ho about space, I neglected to ask you, what are you like in terms of rides?
00:36:26.413 --> 00:36:28.093
VIRGINIA: Will you ride anything?
00:36:28.093 --> 00:36:28.913
NATS: Yes.
00:36:28.913 --> 00:36:37.673
NATS: However, I get the world's worst motion sickness and any slight piece of moving, even in a car.
00:36:37.673 --> 00:36:40.493
NATS: Like if I'm not in the front seat, I'm ill.
00:36:40.493 --> 00:36:45.333
NATS: So every single morning in Florida, I have to take travel sickness tablets.
00:36:45.393 --> 00:36:51.253
NATS: And my dad's like, I can't believe you're going on holiday to take a travel sickness tablet just to cope with the day.
00:36:51.253 --> 00:36:52.933
NATS: And I'm like, yeah.
00:36:52.993 --> 00:36:54.333
VIRGINIA: But it works?
00:36:54.333 --> 00:36:54.893
NATS: It does.
00:36:54.893 --> 00:36:55.393
NATS: It does.
00:36:55.393 --> 00:36:55.613
NATS: Yeah.
00:36:55.613 --> 00:36:57.813
NATS: The ones I've got, Touchwood helped me.
00:36:57.813 --> 00:36:58.633
NATS: Yeah.
00:36:58.633 --> 00:37:01.993
NATS: So yeah, I will ride anything.
00:37:01.993 --> 00:37:06.713
NATS: I used to be a bit nervous when I was younger, but these days, it doesn't really bother me.
00:37:07.013 --> 00:37:13.673
VIRGINIA: Do you get it worse on actual roller coasters or screen-based things?
00:37:13.673 --> 00:37:15.673
NATS: I think I get it on both, to be honest.
00:37:15.673 --> 00:37:18.493
NATS: Like I don't think it really makes a difference.
00:37:18.533 --> 00:37:30.433
NATS: The one though that I cannot ride because I took tablets and I still almost passed out on it and I was dying after it was Mission Space in Epcot.
00:37:30.433 --> 00:37:31.393
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:37:31.393 --> 00:37:32.173
NATS: I don't know why.
00:37:32.513 --> 00:37:37.713
NATS: I listened to all the safety briefings of like, if you get motion sickness, don't do this and blah, blah, blah.
00:37:37.713 --> 00:37:38.773
NATS: And I was like, nah, I'll be fine.
00:37:38.773 --> 00:37:40.473
NATS: I took a tablet.
00:37:41.273 --> 00:37:42.393
VIRGINIA: Which one did you do?
00:37:42.393 --> 00:37:44.953
VIRGINIA: The green version or the orange?
00:37:44.953 --> 00:37:47.973
NATS: Is the orange one that's like the motion sickness one?
00:37:48.113 --> 00:37:49.333
VIRGINIA: Yeah, it's the worst one.
00:37:49.513 --> 00:37:50.933
NATS: That's the one I did.
00:37:50.933 --> 00:37:51.893
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:37:51.893 --> 00:37:54.493
VIRGINIA: The green one is not so bad, but I don't like it either.
00:37:54.873 --> 00:37:56.873
VIRGINIA: It does not feel great.
00:37:57.473 --> 00:38:06.053
VIRGINIA: I was wondering if you were going to say The Simpsons Ride Over Universal because that one makes me feel ill and I don't get motion sickness all that bad.
00:38:06.053 --> 00:38:11.393
VIRGINIA: Like I will in a car if I'm trying to read a book or something while I'm in a car, which you just shouldn't do.
00:38:12.633 --> 00:38:19.253
VIRGINIA: But yeah, I don't generally get it on rides and that's the one ride where I'm just like, I don't feel great afterwards.
00:38:19.253 --> 00:38:22.693
NATS: So I've actually, we haven't done The Simpsons Ride.
00:38:22.733 --> 00:38:23.293
NATS: I don't know why.
00:38:23.293 --> 00:38:45.413
VIRGINIA: I might advise against it if you have bad motion sickness because it's like being on a roller coaster, but it's totally a screen the entire time and so it's just moving and then there's all these smells and stuff too that are associated with it that just like don't add to it in my opinion.
00:38:45.413 --> 00:38:46.113
NATS: Oh, good.
00:38:46.113 --> 00:38:46.433
NATS: Yeah.
00:38:46.473 --> 00:38:47.033
NATS: I think I'll pass.
00:38:47.033 --> 00:38:50.213
VIRGINIA: Maybe Maggie's on the screen and you smell baby powder and it's...
00:38:50.213 --> 00:38:51.973
NATS: Oh, yeah.
00:38:51.973 --> 00:38:53.293
NATS: I think I'll pass on that one.
00:38:53.293 --> 00:38:54.093
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:38:54.093 --> 00:38:56.313
VIRGINIA: Enjoy the rest of Simpsons land, but not so much.
00:38:56.313 --> 00:38:57.653
NATS: Yeah.
00:38:57.653 --> 00:39:02.033
VIRGINIA: Oh, speaking of Universal, are you getting over to Epic Universe?
00:39:02.033 --> 00:39:02.513
NATS: No.
00:39:02.513 --> 00:39:06.073
NATS: So the reason being, well, it's kind of hit and miss at the moment.
00:39:06.193 --> 00:39:13.653
NATS: So our park tickets, because they start from the 11th of May, they don't include them.
00:39:14.573 --> 00:39:19.973
NATS: I contacted the people I bought it from and they said, I could include it free of charge.
00:39:19.973 --> 00:39:27.853
NATS: However, would have to start my park tickets from the 23rd of May, which obviously is two days before I fly home.
00:39:27.853 --> 00:39:29.713
NATS: So I was like, there's not really any point.
00:39:29.713 --> 00:39:34.513
NATS: Now, we are potentially looking to upgrade to annual pass holders at Universal.
00:39:36.113 --> 00:39:42.553
NATS: So if we do that, we might be able to book like one day, but I think it will be sold out by then anyway.
00:39:42.553 --> 00:39:46.313
NATS: So yeah, I don't think we'll get to it this time.
00:39:46.313 --> 00:39:54.833
NATS: But we are looking to go back to Orlando potentially in November, which means that we will be able to do it then.
00:39:54.833 --> 00:39:55.773
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:39:55.773 --> 00:40:03.513
VIRGINIA: If you upgrade based on the tickets you have, is it the same as with Disney where you can just pay the difference in what you've already paid?
00:40:03.793 --> 00:40:04.113
VIRGINIA: Okay.
00:40:04.113 --> 00:40:05.673
NATS: Yeah, exactly that.
00:40:05.673 --> 00:40:06.173
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:40:06.173 --> 00:40:06.613
VIRGINIA: Yeah.
00:40:06.613 --> 00:40:10.433
VIRGINIA: Depending on how many days you're there, it can very much be worth it.
00:40:10.433 --> 00:40:15.533
VIRGINIA: And based on the length of your trips, I think it's probably worth it in your case.
00:40:15.533 --> 00:40:26.453
NATS: Well, yeah, we were thinking as well, like because of car parking, if you upgrade to annual pass, like it's free of charge to park, whereas we pay like $30 a day to park.
00:40:26.453 --> 00:40:34.233
NATS: So it's almost like a no-brainer just to upgrade even one of our passes to an annual pass just to get the free parking.
00:40:34.233 --> 00:40:35.393
VIRGINIA: Right, exactly.
00:40:35.393 --> 00:40:40.793
VIRGINIA: And then I would imagine you also get discounts on things like merchandise there.
00:40:40.793 --> 00:40:43.993
VIRGINIA: Do you know what kind of discount it is at Universal?
00:40:43.993 --> 00:40:44.853
VIRGINIA: Oh, I'm not 100% sure.
00:40:44.853 --> 00:40:46.873
VIRGINIA: Disney is 20% off.
00:40:46.873 --> 00:40:48.853
NATS: Okay, I'm not 100% sure.
00:40:48.853 --> 00:40:54.153
NATS: There's a YouTuber that Scott and I watch and he's an annual pass holder at Universal.
00:40:54.453 --> 00:40:59.573
NATS: I can't for the life of me remember how much the discount is, but I know he definitely gets it on his pass.
00:41:00.533 --> 00:41:01.133
VIRGINIA: All right.
00:41:01.133 --> 00:41:04.513
VIRGINIA: Well, thank you so much for joining me today to talk about your trip.
00:41:04.513 --> 00:41:10.853
VIRGINIA: I can't wait to hear how it all goes and see some of the photos and watch your vlogs and everything.
00:41:10.853 --> 00:41:12.793
VIRGINIA: So it's going to be great.
00:41:13.093 --> 00:41:16.433
VIRGINIA: You only have a matter of days now before you leave.
00:41:16.433 --> 00:41:18.633
VIRGINIA: So good luck with the packing.
00:41:18.633 --> 00:41:20.893
NATS: Thank you.
00:41:20.893 --> 00:41:25.053
VIRGINIA: I hope everything goes smoothly with your travel and we'll talk when you get back.
00:41:25.053 --> 00:41:26.653
NATS: Thank you so much and thank you for having me.
00:41:26.653 --> 00:41:27.553
NATS: I really appreciate it.
00:41:29.393 --> 00:41:33.073
VIRGINIA: Thank you so much to Nats for agreeing to be on the show.
00:41:33.073 --> 00:41:38.793

00:42:12.933 --> 00:42:15.173
